@@zibabirdyou're welcome (:
you gotta have a really good pair of glasses to stay glued at your face like Dylan's
Was literally thinking to myself “gosh I wish Frankie and the Witch Fingers had a KEXP performance” yesterday, and here we are
Shit yesterday SLIFT today we get Frankie. . . yall better be droppin Gizz next
Rock is alive and doing well in 2023.
It sounds like they took advantage of the excellent sound engineering at KEXP to record a live album. This sounds spectacular!
That SG in the left speaker, so clean.
Yes yes. Reminds me of BBC radio recordings years ago. John Peel used to go out looking for music in crusty venues up and down the country, and if he liked it, he'd tell them to come in and record something. It's some of the best music ever recorded. 51 btw
@stuartculshaw5342. I totally concur. So reminiscent of the old BBC recordings. Reminds me especially of old Jimi Hendrix, and Cream recordings.I guess it all has to do with the way the sound stage is built.
Oh how I wish this was on streaming
I love how the bassist is smiling, dancing and grooving all the time - hypnotizing
Her hair is so bad ass
The new drummer Nick has elevated this band to a new level of baddass. Their energy is contagious and the music is ferocious!
Just saw them play in Santa Cruz. Infectious energy no doubt! Banging around all night! Just missed the horns 😢
the cymbal choke at 2:42. No other context needed. Fucking tasty
he has so much energy live, they play so loud - it fucking rules haha
Don't forget about Nikki, that bass tone is monstrous and groovy ❤
he's pretty funny, too
this is fucking sick.. Slift one day then Frankie the next! we need another osees & gizz sesh now
This band is TIGHT. And that drummer is BADASS. I'm definitely checking out their material. Thanks KEXP for providing such a great platform for bands like this to be exposed to music lovers around the world.
You will not be disappointed with their back catalog, ZAM & MEPEM are standouts for me but earlier efforts like Brain Telephone and Sidewalk are great too
OF course it's momma Cheryl introing this beautiful band!
great bands back to back with Slift and then Frankie. love both!
I was literally going to say the same thing!
The 2 best live bands in the world right now
@@mikeplummer26 nah, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. They're a well oiled machine for their marathon shows
@@Killguy-and I’d say Osees. In my opinion you can’t go wrong with any of these bands. They all fucking rip
"YOU BET!"
I always test my new headphones with a KEXP concert, the absolute best sound engineers in the biz. This band is awesome
All I had to see was the drummers sleeves gaff taped. I’m in
Data Doom is the best Frankie album, and one of my top favorite albums from 2023.
This band is so tight, and they play together as a well-oiled, cohesive-unit machine.
I've seen Frankie and the Witch Fingers in a small cozy venue as well as a giant stadium opening for ZZ Top. Each time, their sound and energy was way bigger than the venue. Do yourself a favor and see them live as soon as you have the chance. Also, Data Doom has my vote for album of the year!
when they're smiling is 'cause they know they are ridiculously good
7:58 I love the immediate start from that feedback noise. No breaks allowed!
The drummer, Nick, is just like gasoline over fire!
That Steely Dan/Tony Soprano might be one of the best shirts I've ever seen. Data Doom is an absolute monster of an album
I've found so many amazing artists through KEXP, thank you all! 🤘🏽🔥
so true , great channel.
You mean there are other places to find great bands?
@@jeffreyquinn3820 tiny desk?
Favorite bands you found from KEXP?
@nicka9959 Austin TV , Slith, Built to Spill, cigarettes after Sex, they literly have every good band on the planet play live
the youtube gods just found me my new favorite band
Saw them on Halloween it was the best night of my life!! Frankie for life!! 🧛♂️🧟🧙♀️
Never heard these guys but just had to click on that name....these guys rock. By definition.
Drunkenly stumbled onto KEXP two weeks ago and have been on a bender since. I love this channel.
This is why I love KEXP. Usually they put nice bands. But every once in a while, they just introduce you to the next band you are going to love madly. Frankie and The Witch Fingers have become, immediately, in a favorite of mine!
Futurephobic is a banger
ELDER in the kexp‼️ please 🤟
I am new to the band. Anybody else hearing a distinct Thee Oh Sees vibe? I Love them love this. Carry on
listen to them more. it will go away
Heavy inspo for sure! Thee Oh Sees has birthed some of best bands today
I met them in person twice, got on the guest list too from meeting Nick. I asked Dylan (lead) if he thought they were like Oh Sees, and i pointed out that Microscope by Frankie and the witch fingers has the exact same melody of Crushed Grass by Oh sees he got shy and said "no sorry i dont know that song" lol.
@@TheOriginalLlama32did he say anything else about the Osees tho?
I was at a Frankie concert last month and whenever I really squeezed my eyes together it very well could've been John Dwyer on the stage. To me they kind of have a similar energy, you know?
I mean he physically looks like John, sounds like John, shit he even holds his guitar really high like John
With the steely Dan shirt. Oh yeah I’m a big fan of these guys
They got the Steely Dan t-shirts ;)
Data Doom is so damn good front to back!
god this new album is freaking incredible, futurephobic goes so hard
also big props to fatgomez and jordanwarrenvisuals for such a cool album design, those folks absolutely kill it
@@choglatemilg thanks man warms my Lil heart ❤
So glad to see Frankie and the Witch Fingers on KEXP!! Dylan is a rhythm guitar god!
and they ask why he wears his guitar so high!
Very King Crimson sound in nature. I can dig it, never heard of them before.
I’ve been lucky enough to see these guys and gal SEVEN times and they never get old. Such an awesome energetic band.
Agree! I’m already waiting for them to come back on another US tour again 😂
Lucky! I’ve only seen them once
Fucking love these guys and fucking love KEXP!
A consistent band just getting better with every album. Love ‘em.
you fucking rules!!!! With the sax and trompet, OMG!
Tighter than my post thanksgiving wardrobe 💥
These fockas are tight, not to mention their tones, everything perfect
I saw the band in Berlin and Dylan was by the merch stand while opening bands were playing. He was such a humble and calm guy, it was the first time I could get over my starstruck-ness and talk to a band member!!! Their energy in the show destroyed the floor. 11/10 recommend their live shows & looking forward to the return to Berlin with the new songs
First time love when it's a fuck yeah moment 😎
The drummer rules! Holy cow
I've also been lucky to see them play in tiny venues and big festivals. They never disappoint. As a friend of mine said after we saw them at Levitation France in 2022, "They play like their hair is on fire."
crushing on the bass player who is gleefully vibing and 2 stepping the whole time
Before you can teach history you have to define history.
what a great band ! thanks again KEXP ! cheers from Alberta, Canada !
These guys fuckin rock
Missed them twice this year. Hope they’ll come close to me in 2024!
I did sound for this band at the former Saint in Asbury Park, NJ. They were amazing and so great to work with.
Need to see them live ASAP
Saw them in Sept it was awesome. One of my top live shows this year
They were fantastic. Exceeded expectations and that’s saying a lot
My face melted! So much going on here: killer riffs, balls to the wall rhythm section, and so dang tight. I love it!
Never heard of this band, before.
Boy, am I glad I have, now!
I approve the nick’s t-shirt ! 🤟🏼
Wicked and props for the dude with the Steely Dan T!
Well, looks like I’ve found a new favourite band
Ugh why is this still better than the levitation lp though. God I wish KEXP was on Spotify!!
Reminds a bit of like an alternative Primus, love these guys’ sound
I met Dylan, Nick and Pickle a year ago before a show. Lovely bunch of folks, really excited to see what's next!!
It’s like Chicago meets Primus. Love it!
fantastic shiz doing the biz, love the John Dwyer influence shining through, made my night finding this , thank you
Surprised not to see more people mention John Dwyer here! That man is deserving of emulation. This new album is great.
I LOVE PICKLE!! Her voice is so beautiful too and I love that they embrace ~the weird~
Also such awesome make up and then the shirts that they make at church of pickle are badass.
Love this band and the energy they give live is amazing
So overdue to have this band on KEXP!
Wow, that was amazing
KEXP is always coming through with the illest bands ! I'm still watching that Austin TV episode
Nicky Pickle is the groove itself 🥒
Looking forward to seeing these guys in Oz in two weeks.
Cheryl is the queen! Always bringing us the best!
Props on the Steely Dan shirt!
Went to the San Francisco show this past weekend. 150% energy. Wow.
Yes. Always record.
I feel like we need a new osees KEXP session now. would be super fitting after slift and now these guys. god I love KEXP
Yes! Thank you KEXP & Frankie!
Finally the KEXP performance! I have been waiting for it since they announced that they played a set there. Hope to see them in Germany some time!
Just discovered this band.
Very decent. 👍
YES I AM SO HAPPY TO SEE FRANKIE ON HERE YAY!!!
Absolutely love it. Define hearing a devo influence.
Love that they brought the horns in for this! Absolute 🔥
Futurephobic is one of my favorite songs ever written. Thanks for your awesome work as always, KEXP
All four are best in class
Never heard of this group but I'll be checking them out now. Crazy energy and unique sound! Amazing!
just saw them @ the Troubadour last Saturday night, it was absolutely mental!!!
Saw them the night b4 in SD. Tremendous!
Now to go check out their whole discography lol
Da Shit ....
Really Dope Sound...!!!
Wow, whoa! Thank you, shared.
Dylan is such a high output motor and everyone else is so in sync with everything really tight band I saw them at the crystal ball in Portland and they put on a show!
Omg they kill it. That riff on Empire is unreal
KEXP on FIRE this week
The stereo separation with the guitars in this mix is on point! I saw these guys in Chicago last month with Wine Lips and the raw energy of the crowd was amazing, one of the best shows I’ve ever been to!
Frankie are amazing! So much energy. They will grow on you. Have been a fan since hearing them through Levitation. Start their discography from the beginning.
Love the added horn section. Hope that becomes more of a regular thing. Political Cannibalism is my favorite song on the new album. Data Doom is really good. Glad to see Frankie on KEXP! Keep rocking on
Thank's KEXP, always great discoveries with you !
Absurd! An everything grinder machine! Schizophrenic energy at full speed, precise, steady and inventive. The best thing I heard and saw this year!🎉❤
Smokin...great band. KEXP delivers excellent content on the regular.👍👍
I saw them live this year @ krach am bach festival in germany... they are such an amazing live band. great great band, love them
Thank you KEXP! Introduced me to this awesome band!
wow ♥
The lead singer looks and sounds like a younger version of John Dwyer. I love it!
Amazing live band. Playing with them on a beach at night at River & Sky will be a forever memory!
what a band, awesome
Nick is a beast on drums, just saw Frankie a few weeks ago in SD, an epic show with Monsterwatch 💪
I was there as well!!! Great gig.
