HARMONY JEWELLERY - If you gain 1600 Health, 800 Stamina & 600 Magicka from the Undaunted Command, used 3 Harmony (2640 Resources) Magicka Recovery (10 ticks 5070 Magicka) jewellery and use only a Shard/Orb synergy on cooldown once every 20 seconds, that alone would be 4240 Health, 7400 Stamina and 8310 Magicka gained every 20 seconds. that bar swapping while holding block greatly helps. too many times i've bar swapped mid block in Vet dungeons i get wiped. great that they have the block on this is awesome!
I'm wondering if the other option for the new vampire teleport would work with void bash and torment set? since it deals damage, not sure if it's direct but would be interesting to test it
I wonder if theirs any changes to CP that isn't mentioned from a Tank's perspective. I heard recently from my healer in my Prog group did Unhallowed Grave recently, don't need to be prepared for the invisible insta-death ghost skeletal grip the boss does as that was fixed? Don't quote me on that.. we were going to run it last week to test but life business had us reschedule.
Hi! im kinda new on taking. I always keep the boss taunted 100% of the time, but sometimes the boss still prefer to attack my DPS or Healer for a short period of time, but why?
Some mechs have the Boss turn to attack others anyway. This is dependent on the Boss you are fighting. Review dungeon guides to find out if this is the reason.
By that I mean the "hidden" taunt debuff you put on an enemy when you cast a taunt skill not the visible taunt tracker you get when taunting. I have more information about this at the following links: th-cam.com/video/EbAB0S0ekqM/w-d-xo.html thetankclub.com/eso-beginner-tank-guide/#taunting
I don't think the immobilization changes are that bad for tanking. True its sad to not have a skill (combo) available to all classes anymore. But in pve, the immobilization was mainly used for "small fry" instead of taunting each one we'd just keep them in place. With the changes to pull ability this is somehow mitigated (where you'd chain 3-4 enemies then cast talons, they'll now just stay with you giving you another GCD to taunt 1 or 2 enemies. What I really don't like is the comeback of the 0 brain permablock tank. 2 Changes that removed things you had to look out for to not completely fuck up. 1 Change to allow ez mode resources...
But they said elemental blockade and caltrops will also be soft taunts, so immobilizng will not be as important as it is now because trash will start attacking tank anyway
They have yes, they have made the two shields useful for two different things but the smaller shield and high cost of shimmering is a bit of a nerf indeed.
i never knew about block being dropped when swapping but im happy for that change. i think this is why i stumble sometimes. and if they put taunt in pulls, will tormentor be redundant? and inner beast will absolutely become obsolete for me if chains got taunt. i just hate how its invisible. sometimes i dont know if i taunted that rock 28m away.
It's a thing that catches quite a few people out and sometimes people just don't realise block gets dropped! You cannot taunt with AoE pulls with something like Vateshran Void Bash it's just single target - Unrelenting Grip, Silver Leash, Beckoning Armor and Swarm Mother.
OMFG! Soft taunt is back! Screw the new chapter, soft taunt being back might actually get me back into the game! 😲 Does it apply to all skills? E.g. the path for ice staff? (Don't even know if ice staff is viable for tanks anymore..? 😅 Or remember what the skill is called 😆) Edit: Ok, I watched a few more minutes of the video and I might have gotten a bit over hyped it seems, especially since I mained NB tank. 😔
I’ve been playing on ps4 for the past 3 weeks (tanking for the first time) and I always swap bars while holding block, and it stays up. I’ve actually thought to myself “it sure is nice that block stays up when I swap” so maybe just certain people are dealing with that one.
I've never ever heard chains ever taunting ever in ESO till now. You must be new. The only taunt in the begining was inner and puncture morfs and base. As a heavy dot Sorc I can contest to the fact soft taunt is still in game and has never left.
It's kinda dumb because all of the crap wrong with tanking could be instantly fixed if they made a threat system like WoW. Simply make someone in a tanking role generate more threat with abilities than other roles. Done. It's so easy. And my god...create an area taunt, not just freaking single target taunts.
Then we would all be playing WOW. Not what I want to do. ESO tanking is far more sophisticated. You can’t just run in, taunt everything and forget about it, you have to actively control the fight environment.
@PalaceofVision Eh. I don't see how ESO is more sophisticated when WoW has about 20 skills and buttons you're able to use, along with created macros you're able to use just to streamline the skills, while eso has a maximum 10 maybe 11 skills you use. Not to mention how you have to switch weapons in a fight? Which doesn't make sense in practicality. Why the hell, better yet, how, does a tank...tank...with a freaking staff. No matter what you think a threat system just makes sense. Mobs attack whatever grabs their attention. A player creating the most threat obviously would be a target to hit. Tanking was NOT the easiest thing in WoW while, aside from the hardest content in ESO, nothing can kill you. All you need to do is just face roll your head on the key board and you won't die...ever. Better prove my point. Hey guy, what about the whole ability to solo much of the content in eso? Yeah because it's easy. You can't do that in WoW. You'll die. It's funny how there IS a threat system in ESO, but it's among the dps. Whoever does the most dps to an untaunted target WILL pull aggro. So a tank in eso just has to go around and poke or yell at EVERY mob individually to get aggro. Here's another thing wrong with the eso community. They get upset when they pug with a group with low dps. Why? Because then the tank actually has to tank and pull aggro, and most can't do that. All tanks have to do most of the time is run into a room and like....barely CC things and by that time, most trash or mobs are dead. If the fight drags on too long, because of low dps, you'll start to see mobs peel off and hit the healer or attack dps because the tanks don't go around poking each and every mob or pull them in, because they don't want to. Then they cry the dps is too low. It just makes sense for the tank to have a higher threat system put in place so they can actually TANK and not just be a scapegoat to initiate combat. I've played every mmo out there and tanking in WoW is the most fun, but I like the way eso plays. You act like there's something wrong with tanking actually MAKING SENSE and being PRACTICAL. "It would just be WoW then." No it freaking wouldn't, not even close. It would just be a fine tunement that in every way shape and form just makes sense. Your issue with it seems pretty uneducated.

Thanks TC Lee. A lot of good news here for Tanks.

Great informative video as always Lee. Looking forward to the mostly positive changes coming!
Blocking while bar swapping? Say goodbye to my go-to excuse for dying 😢

Excellent work, thank you sir.

Do I get back into thisssss.
I'm running a bubble shield dk build. Been about 3yrs now since I played.
So if stacking taunt more than once is a bug, you can't refresh it and you have to let taunt drop and reapply asap?

Maybe would be nice modify one of skills that would area taunt. Then all enemies around would be focused on the tank
Good wall of frost got buff but wish pulse be same and necromancer have a companion

Eliminating the bar swap block drop makes Hel Ra even more EZ mode.

Hey, thanks for review. This patche is super mega awesome! Very strong buff for beginers.
Quite a few helpful things coming for beginners!
Does the new soft taunt on pull work with Vat S&B?
Sadly no, the patch notes specifically say that AOE pulls do not get soft taunt.
It would be so over powered if it did lol
AFAIR they have also increased the cost of the warden shield so, on the whole, it does look like quite a nerf :(
They have yes, they have made the two shields useful for two different things but the smaller shield and high cost of shimmering is a bit of a nerf indeed.
Dutchtommy: Vamp Mist Master. New vamp mist changes will nerf his unkillable builds

@@TheTankClub so, no soft taunt for Aoe chain like rushing agony? and will tormentor work with aoe chain?
ty :)
Bro necro has the best cc imo
About sorc's damage shield i would not prefer to apply this change into pvp.
For pve its really good way to reduce amount of incoming damage

I didn't notice this on ps4 when i just played today
update isn't coming until end of March 2023 for consoles
@@mitsouqc good to know, thanks.

You are maybe not seeing the visual drop of block. It's always been a thing and occurs with certain skills too.
@@lycaon7778 I think I know what you mean now
i hope new wall of elements doesnt make it to the live servers i hate it i hate it :c
Tricky one really, it's both a buff and a nerf depending on your class and how you play
