You are a lifesaver. I’ve been looking into incorporating this workflow but never understood how to send MIDI to GP and then output back Audio into Live. Thank you 🙏
This is huge! Should majorly simplify my current Blackhole audio and MIDI routing configurations between GP and Logic. Very nice walk-through, Cameron. 👍👍
The overall concept is brilliant and really punches through the GP use case , for a musician who’s instrument performance is really tied to a channel strip in a DAW this really makes sense to build a rig that is separate from your DAW and this approach really come alive with the new Relayer function , currently I have set up externally and it’s do able but very involved and requires much extra hardware and resources Relayer will be a welcome game changer
dood great presentation. this open up a whole new world for live sequencing looping in a band. those special spontaneous moments can now be captured in their entirety and with all the plug in sounds. saved me from having to get a separate keyboard for abelton. thanks so much
Wow, this is seriously great, and I really appreciate your video, thank you! I write film music, but my brain can flow and function differently in different environments. Now I can drift and dream with crazy, visually depicted effects chains in GP, and also capture it in Cubase or Studio One as useable music. Seriously good stuff! Thanks so much.
Concerned about LATENCY. What kind of latency is introduced? I used to be excited about moving audio around between applications, but other implementations of such on my Mac introduced too much latency for ANY live playing.
You can already do this at very low latencies using the excellent reastream plugin from Cockos. Standalone version of their plugin for reaper, freely available from their website, works to send audio between any plugin host and any other plugin host, including between multiple computers if they are all on the same ethernet/wifi network. Sure a native GP version will be ace though given their emphasis is so strongly on live use/stability
Hi, this is a very interesting platform but I have a question. Since this platform offer zero latency, can I use it in logic or Luna, or any other DAW for recording with all the interesting applications that you just explained in this awesome video? Thank you
Gig Performer itself is a plugin HOST, not a plugin. But GPRelayer IS a plugin, designed to allow Gig Performer to share MIDI and audio with any DAW (except Pro Tools) so that you can either record what you’re playing in GP to a DAW or, going the other way around, route audio from a Dw back into GP
@@ian20n I responded to your question on another TH-cam video. BTW. you can do it in ProTools if you use a DDMF wrapper plugin (which is what Pro Tools guys do).
I just need to see how to run midi keyboards through it into my daw so i can record my melodies in with no latency audio and midi and then also trying to figure out how to set it up like a vocal rack like decap talks about in his video about gig performer
Really like the concept behind, which has the potential to ease what I am currently doing: routing audio from GP to Reaper via jackaudio and midi using loopmidi. But did I correctly understand: each GP relayer block is two channel audio/single channel midi? Why not make it variable in respect to the amount of audio channels and root all midi channels? Or to allow more than 10 instances? Thanks for a great tool anyhow!
I am a bit confused, because in the newsletter from GP and this video description talk about GP 5, but as far as I know, there is no talk about releasing a new version. So does anyone know, if GP Relayer is coming to GP 4, or is this a feature planned for GP 5, which is comming some time in the future? If it is coming to GP 5, does anyone know, when this will be released, because I can't find anything online?
So unfortunately, Relayer is great in concept, but I couldn’t get it to work in reality. Fortunately I figured out how to achieve the same thing by routing the output of GigPerformer to a virtual channel on my Apollo, then routing that virtual channel directly to my Daw. I’ve seen a guy do this with RME too using ‘loop back’. I’m not sure if it works with other cheaper interfaces. Imagine you’d need ‘virtual channels’. The problem with relayer is that when tracking, the audio makes it to your daw, but then the daw makes you select an input, when you select the input, relayer is not an option within your daw, so the signal never makes it to print. Troubleshot this for hours last night within Abelton, Logic and GarageBand. Have no I idea how this guy got it to work, but I couldn’t. Tried everything. Virtual channels on an audio interface are the way. Again, got it to work with Apollo. Pretty certain can be done with RME totalmix.. not sure about cheaper interfaces
Just trying to help people who are stumped and frustrated like I was for hours last night. I searched all the forums, tried all suggestions to no avail. Couldn't get it to work... I finally got it to work my own way. I'm really happy with Gig Performer. Relayer was, and still is, a frustration to me. That said, Gig Performer still worth every penny
It was a pleasure getting to introduce this feature, thanks for having me!
Thank you for your great work! :)

Fantastic.
THX GP Team!
Nice, Ableton / bitwig with GP is potent 🎵

Opening up Gigperformer to be able to utilize the incredibly vast selection of free JS plugins in Reaper is going to be amazing.
Great for live streaming

Well, when it’s released I guess you’ll just have to try it and see if it works for you.

can you do a video on how to route with NI MASCHINE

Please do a video on how to set it up like uad console to track vocals zero latency

It'd be great if the plug-ins could send and receive over a gigabit lan connection...
Maybe this will make possible to communicate between 2 daws? Ableton and Logic maybe
Thanks for sharing. Have you tried using GP Relayer for GP Instance to Instance?
Yes, it works! :)
Hi there) is there a way to send or receive a CC to/from DAW (I use Gig Performer 4 with Digital Performer on Mac)? Thanx
Please use the community forums for technical support
Please create a new thread in the Gig Performer community forum. There are Digital Performer users and it is easy to discuss, attach screenshots, etc.
Thanx guyz) Sure 😊

Well, the newsletter explicitly says, "coming in Gig Performer 5." All going well, we hope to release GP5 within the next few weeks.
Everything is great, except that GP Relayer does not work with Fl Studio. Could anyone connect them?

Please ask this question in the community forum.
did you find a way to get this working in FL?

Please create a new thread in the forum, we have tutorials for various DAWs. Doing support in YT comments is inconvenient.
We have explicitly tested GP Relayer with Logic and Ableton. I’m sure you will find answers on the community forums
