My only problem with Nightwish is that I start out listening to 1 song, and all of a sudden its 3 hours later. Once you start listening, you don't know when to stop. Amazing band.

Nightwish always has that vibe on stage like they're just (very talented) friends having fun together. And that positive energy is contagious. I love it! :)
Marko is so very talented. If you would like to experience different kind of Marko, pls try 'While your lips are still red', live at Wembley Arena. And another which I warmly recommend is High Hopes, cover from Pink Floyd, live End of an Era 2005
A lot of people find Marco's vocals weird or don't like the sound, but I think he fits with Floor and the overall feel of the band perfectly. A little more gravel and still a very talented singer with great range.

Tuomas is metal Mozart... Mark Jansen (Epica) is metal Beethoven... Christopher Johnson (Therion) is metal Wagner... Asis Nasseri (Haggard) is metal Vivaldi... You should listen to all those too... My recommendation is that if you continue your Nightwish journey, why not doing two songs at a time? (except of course The Poet and The Pendulum and The greatest show on Earth which are long enough by themselves)... It's funny to see that many Nightwish fans say they don't like Epica because of the growls (it's the only reason to don't like Epica if you like Nightwish), but when Floor starts growling, growls are not only ok, but awesome... Be consistent people... It's like back in the early 2000's, when I always said Floor (she was in After Forever at the time) was better than Tarja and all the rest of Nightwish fans wanted to crucify me... (by the way, when Tarja left the band, my first comment to all my friends was: Floor Jansen would be the perfect replacement, since After Forever has splitted some months before, but Tuomas chose Annete).I'm so happy that all this people now recognize that I was right from the beginning... Marko Hietala is not just a bass player with a nice voice. All of his carreer was the lead singer of the band Tarrot. So Nightwish incorporated to their machine a luxury gear. The same happens with Troy Donokley (you can see him more on the next albul after Wacken-singing-multi instrument player, etc). So Nightwish is a band with complete musicians! It would be very interested to see Marko singing without music in his early prime back in 1987 (yes before the formation of Nightwish) in a 2 minute video: th-cam.com/video/inMXEq4jgEs/w-d-xo.html. There are, for me, two people who vie for the title of 'Metal Mozart'. One - Tuomas Holopainen - the other Devin Townsend. Both have breadth of musicianship that is remarkable.
Great reaction as always. A lot of their songs have Van Halen and Metalica style guitar riffs. I agree with Nimwey and the others who suggested that you definitely need to check out Yours is an empty hope for some great growls from Floor.
Might I suggest the song Sancta Terra by a Dutch band called Epica. It's a duet for the singer of Epica and Floor Jansen, they're long time friends, and it's mind-blowing.

My recommendation is that if you continue your Nightwish journey, why not doing two songs at a time? (except of course The Poet and The Pendulum and The greatest show on Earth which are long enough by themselves)...
It's funny to see that many Nightwish fans say they don't like Epica because of the growls (it's the only reason to don't like Epica if you like Nightwish), but when Floor starts growling, growls are not only ok, but awesome... Be consistent people... It's like back in the early 2000's, when I always said Floor (she was in After Forever at the time) was better than Tarja and all the rest of Nightwish fans wanted to crucify me... (by the way, when Tarja left the band, my first comment to all my friends was: Floor Jansen would be the perfect replacement, since After Forever has splitted some months before, but Tuomas chose Annete).I'm so happy that all this people now recognize that I was right from the beginning...

Its dangerous to nightwish without a seatbelt 😂 I only gotten into nightwish within the last 8 months or so and I agree by far they are my favorite just on pure talent and story telling ability and floor... she never disappoints! I love "elan (official music video)" too it has a Celtic kinda vibe (atleast I think Celtic) lol

Marko Hietala is not just a bass player with a nice voice. All of his carreer was the lead singer of the band Tarrot. So Nightwish incorporated to their machine a luxury gear. The same happens with Troy Donokley (you can see him more on the next albul after Wacken-singing-multi instrument player, etc). So Nightwish is a band with complete musicians!
It would be very interested to see Marko singing without music in his early prime back in 1987 (yes before the formation of Nightwish) in a 2 minute video: th-cam.com/video/inMXEq4jgEs/w-d-xo.html. There are, for me, two people who vie for the title of 'Metal Mozart'. One - Tuomas Holopainen - the other Devin Townsend. Both have breadth of musicianship that is remarkable.

Great reaction as always. A lot of their songs have Van Halen and Metalica style guitar riffs. I agree with Nimwey and the others who suggested that you definitely need to check out Yours is an empty hope for some great growls from Floor.
Might I suggest the song Sancta Terra by a Dutch band called Epica. It's a duet for the singer of Epica and Floor Jansen, they're long time friends, and it's mind-blowing.
