At the beginning of the last section Tuomas plays the melody to Bach's "Toccata and Fugue in D minor" and at the end of the section you hear 2 riffs from Metallica "Enter Sandman". First of all, congrats for the 10k subs. This song hits me really hard and makes me very emotional everytime I watch/hear it. Watery eyes and running nose during 20+ minutes. It has this powerful meaning that invites you to reflect a lot. "We were here", those three words hits you.
Thank you! @ 21:26 you are the first reaction I've heard mention other styles. As the song highlights the evolution of man, the hidden theme is the evolution of music. You can hear the harpsichord of Bach's Minuet in G M, followed by Metallica's Enter Sandman and the eventual house music. That hidden gem alone blew my mind.
Supposedly, Floor's parents were there close to the front and during the show Floor tried not to make eye contact with them, fearing she would start to cry. And damn Floor's sister looks like Floor!!!!! Crazy!!!!
i really like your Nightwish reactions because it for me seems like you seriously listen too the song. and of course since im a huge Nightwish fan myself i like what you say ;-)
You're only the second reactor to catch that Metallica riff! That part of the song is the evolution of music starting with ancient chanting and ending with electronic music!
I've got a big question in my mind about this part, from the first time I heard this song. Maybe someone from Finland could help me. Before the Enter Sandman's riff, there is the Tuomas part which is From Bach "Toccata and Fugue in D minor". The fact is, when I was young there was a cartoon which explains the history of humanity, from the very beginning (from the big bang to now). The opening of this cartoon was the "Toccata and Fugue in D minor", but it was a french cartoon, I don't know if it was played in other countries, and if Tuomas used it as a tribute, or if it's just a coincidence, as the song is the story of the world. I'm gonna ask this in other "Greatest show on earth" reactions, because it's really something I want to know. This is the opening I speak about for curious people: th-cam.com/video/dfnLa4B-Pbg/w-d-xo.html
@@ooO0VicariouS0Ooo I was going to mention that no one seems to catch the Toccata and Fugue part (one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written). I have no idea about the cartoon but it is probably just a coincidence...
It's sad no reactionist catches the Bach riff done in the most epic way possible. I don't think it's hommage to a french cartoon show though :) although i remember a similar show "es war einmal... der mensch" in germany (and other 'once upon a time..' cartoons). Don't remember any of the music they had.

This is one hell of an emotional overload , much to much. With Floor you feel the pain and those basic 6 impassioned human behaviors deep within your heart and soul........she is the catalyst in all of this and you are unknowingly drawn into this huge event of this whole music extravaganza oblivious to the reality around you for the duration of this beautiful performance.......i use this metaphor but I cannot think of no better accolade for this man......i believe Tuomas Lauri Johannes Holopainen is to Music as what Einstein was to Science, a Phenomenon of our time , but i have to mention the rest of the partners in Nightwish who are most truly deserving in this Epic band.... for without them we would not be experiencing the beauty and emotions we feel every time they perform for their Global Followers .
"I've got my eye protection....good choice....but you needed to keep them on! I hope I'm protected enough!....nope! You cannot defend against this! (proceeds to remove all protection as Tuomas lulls you into a false sense of safety :D. Yes it's fun knowing what's coming when you don't, but only because we wish we could have that first experience again and love to see others getting the whole thing! Ah, when Floor hits those monotone vocals I keep expecting her eyes to glow and for her to lift slightly off the stage as she goes full goddess-mode. I just love it. Chills every time. The transition to early humanity (the growls) into the heavy chug plus synth is just crazy, then the actual classical music blended into that synth (and yes, that is followed immediately by "Enter Sandman", that whole transition is the entire history of music in about 20 seconds - relisten, you can pick out all sorts of styles including electronic) Then that impact of "we were here". It's super emotional, even if you don't entirely understand the lyrics. Once you do.... oh my The ending is a well deserved finale and applause (with a hero backtrack to match). Everything about it screams epic. The production quality of the footage and sound mix just really seals the deal on making this a special ending to a special show. All of that to laud science and evolution.
The Enter Sandman riff immediately proceeded the vocal line about man trying to understand a single grain of sand - that grain of sand is a metaphor for the earth, a la Carl Sagan's pale blue dot. I have always wondered if it was Tuomas' idea, since he is such a mastermind when it comes to composition - or perhaps it was Empu's?
Great reaction PF ! I really think you nailed it by saying " Not only was this the Greatest Show on Earth, but possibly they are the Greatest Band on Earth ! ". Most certainly Yes ! I would say that personally, i would put them up level with the likes of possibly Queen, certainly different style, but the same extreme talent, passion & instrumentation ...

@@bararobberbaron859 I think that a lot of fans are a bit in love with Floor ( so am I and i am straight ) and you know what happens when someone is in love..... But it is a marvelous feeling so please let it be 😜
How cool is it to start a song with the sun still up and end the song with the sun down and it's dark. This song is epic. This band is epic. I only discovered them for myself a week ago. Wish I would have known about them sooner.
At 20:30 Metal Mozart gave you some Metal Bach. :)
That harpsichord gets me every time!
I know, right!
That's so friggin great on so many levels 🤣
wonderfull reaction. i enjoyed it as much as you did. Thanks for playing it till the very end.

Thank you for your reaction! Im a finnish Nightwish fan, and I was there in Tampere concert to see them alive. It was awsome, I will never forget that experience. Nightwish💙💙
Powerful Reactions thanks for the gobsmacked reaction!💛👍I can't wait to see your reaction to Poet and The Pendulum!😊
First of all, congrats for the 10k subs. This song hits me really hard and makes me very emotional everytime I watch/hear it. Watery eyes and running nose during 20+ minutes. It has this powerful meaning that invites you to reflect a lot. "We were here", those three words hits you.
In Buenos Aires, they played this song and then "Ghost Love Score"... real troopers.
Weak Fantasy from the same concert and 7 days to the wolves from wembley! Go!
You're absolutely right..enter sandman Metallica 🤘 this band is so freaking good❤️
Now you know why it's called The Greatest Show on Earth!!!
Brindle Chase The greatest show on earth is life
he have no clue
I've watched this a million times but always get me in tears 😢
Thank you for sharing your reaction to this masterpiece! Nightwish gives me goosebumps every song!
Supposedly, Floor's parents were there close to the front and during the show Floor tried not to make eye contact with them, fearing she would start to cry. And damn Floor's sister looks like Floor!!!!! Crazy!!!!
Irene (Floors sister) is a great great singer as well. Check them both out on Ayreon.
i really like your Nightwish reactions because it for me seems like you seriously listen too the song. and of course since im a huge Nightwish fan myself i like what you say ;-)
@@ooO0VicariouS0Ooo first I thought you meant Fantasia (original, not 2000), but nope! I don't know what that cartoon is!
Glad you stayed with it to the very end. Many bail out early thinking their viewers are in a hurry or something, and we aren't.
Well done!
Hello from Slovakia ....I love Nightwish 20 years, pls more reactions from new album Human:Nature ....Music, Pan, Shoemaker, Tribal or Endlessness... all songs are amazing, insane, masterpiece and beautiful and Floor ist .... you now what i meen 🤟🤟🤟
Omg. So excited for this reaction. Such a beautiful masterpiece 😍
There is Floor and there are ... aaaa??? ... O yes Floor , and Floor and Floor ...
Tarja is really good also.
i can get not liking Anette that much, but i like a few studio songs with her at least...
I'd like to call her Paradox, actually. Because somehow, she's always on the ceiling.
"There is Floor and there are ... aaaa??? ... " Irene.... ;)
I am so happy that you did this..... and NOW... it’s absolutely mandatory you do next: Poet and the Pendulum ....
I am so glad that you finally see it and felt it! Nightwish is in fact the Greatest Show on Earth!
Thank you for this wonderful video! Really worth all the wait and preparing, aye! 🤘 To be completely honest, I'm a little surprised your head didn't just pop off from your shoulders and roll to the ground, but hey, that would've been pretty unhealthy, so you were lucky! I dislocated my jawbone at this very concert, totally worth it though!
It's been really fun following your journey with Nightwish - this isn't the end, but a milestone for sure. Ten thousand congratulations for 10k subsribers, all well deserved! Here's for the next ten thousand, cheers! 🍻🥳
Ty get goosebumps everytime i watch this it was great
Been since then been able to see Nightwish live concerts with Tarja, Anette and Floor. And hope that this coronavirus gets under control so we can ejoy again Nightwish Live again!!!
This song with this performance is so incredibly good. No more words, just speechless
The crowd cheer at the end had to shake the ground. Massive!
This is not just a song.
This is a Hymn to the Human specie singed by the best feamale voice of all time.
I am going to see theese guys in Tampere 22/4 2022. Cant wait!! Thanks for a beautiful reaction.
You made a statement - "look how happy they are to perform in Finland" and great they are live. We are fortunate to be alive at this time to be able to witness and enjoy such wonderful groups today - I am grateful for the internet every day, it has changed how we are able to consume music - It is wonderful to be able to learn about new groups so easily and share the same information... WE are able to enjoy a show that was IN FINLAND! On demand! That is fantastic!
Great reaction dude. Respect from 🇬🇧
Absolutely fantastic reaction. Again, congratulations on 10000 subscribers, you most definitely deserve it. Also, your new microphone is great.
Neighbor, "Did I hear you refer to yourself as the greatest show on Earth while in the shower?"
😂😂😂😂😂
Kai's drumming. My 4 fav drummers, Jukka, Kai, Tommy Portimo Sonata Arctica, Alex Kamelot. Kai never ceases to amaze me and may he NEVER cease to amaze me.
Yes it was "Enter Sandman" from Metallica. But did you noticed before, there was a part of Johann Sebastian Bach "Menuett"?
Fugue D minor :)
*has sunglasses and a neck cushion* god I hope I'm protected enough
Oh hell no, but you're certainly the most prepared reactor to this song by a mile, solid effort 🤘
😂😂🤘🤘🤘
I enjoyed the super intro, ha ha
Further more, one of the things I like about reaction videos, is to share my enjoyment of music and other content with others. And it's so wonderful when people like yourself so obviously enjoy the content you watch. Thank you for sharing the moment.
Of course when a reactor dislikes something I like, I can find joy in hearing another point of view, so yeah. It's probably more than that.
thx for your great reaction and grats to your 10k subs, have a nice day and pls stay safe, grts from the dutch cheesehead living in germany, member of the nightwish army, orange legion
Floor barely starts singing that beautiful aria/intro and I'm already crying...
PS: there are times where you look like literally blown away by Floor and Marko's voices, is kind of hilarious to watch that reaction
good afternoon. in my opinion the best show of Nightwish. greetings from brazil
excellent reaction. really enjoyed! can't wait to see the next one.
OMG! I love this song! Is amazing! Nightwish❤
The part where you heard enter sandman refers to evolution of music. If you pay attention to those few seconds, it goes from classical music, to rock, to electronic music.
Crazy 😊
glad you did this one, it's one of my favorites. I have a B.S. in biology and really appreciate Nightwish's admiration of biology and science, so this song means a lot to me. Same with 'ad astra' from their new album too.
Please react live to Buenos Aires concert
Jaaa!
Many People: I feel I just listened to a whole album.
Nightwish: Hold my Greatest Show on Earth.
You also heard "Toccata and Fugue in D Minor" by J.S. Bach.
wow dude, i have seen so many reaction videos to this song and only you and one more channel(cant remember who it was) commented on Enter Sandman from Metallica part, points for you bro good job.
i saw 3rector who caught it but yeah from like 20+ not much lol
Come on, I had to 😁🤘🤘👌
Thank you.
I can't remember who it was, but someone actually picked out the banjo part. I was impressed.
There is a concert that was recording in my country... in Argentina
2018 I think....
Please see all the complete show..
People here is full of energy... and show the love from Nightwish 100%...
Pure adrenaline...
Besos...
Valeria.
Yeah, that song holds so many little secrets you don't get at first, and its meaning is the best thing about it, I think.
There's still many incredible surprises to come in shorter songs though, so don't ever worry about that with this band. ;)
Congratulations for your 10k+ subscribers, you deserve it. 👍🤘
Thank you for another great reaction. I love this song, but I love so many songs. My husband reminds me all the time because I will say. Omg. I love this song. He says. You love all their songs. He’s right. Poet and the Pendulum next please. Greetings from Canada 🇨🇦
Thank you 😊
Powerful reaction, Powerful band! Congrats on 10k subs!
Endless form most beautiful. The first album with Floor. ❤️🤘
Damn so beautiful that it hurts! :-))))) Love from a proud Dutchy! xoxo
The transition to early humanity (the growls) into the heavy chug plus synth is just crazy, then the actual classical music blended into that synth (and yes, that is followed immediately by "Enter Sandman", that whole transition is the entire history of music in about 20 seconds - relisten, you can pick out all sorts of styles including electronic)
Then that impact of "we were here". It's super emotional, even if you don't entirely understand the lyrics. Once you do.... oh my
The ending is a well deserved finale and applause (with a hero backtrack to match). Everything about it screams epic. The production quality of the footage and sound mix just really seals the deal on making this a special ending to a special show. All of that to laud science and evolution.
Did you notice that the chord progressions from the piano intro return for the ”We were here” climax?
The Enter Sandman riff immediately proceeded the vocal line about man trying to understand a single grain of sand - that grain of sand is a metaphor for the earth, a la Carl Sagan's pale blue dot. I have always wondered if it was Tuomas' idea, since he is such a mastermind when it comes to composition - or perhaps it was Empu's?
loved seeing you prepared for headbang and waiting for the song to kick in and it hit you while your defense was down. 😂😂.
Their songs are scores. Hence the name ghost love score. Toumas is a musical genius
The moment right after the "green growl section" when Floor takes two steps back and start to windmill...Oh boy, oh boy!
okay before I even review your reaction “it’s about time!” Here we go!
Greatest Show On Earth is not Nightwish being presumptuous, it is the life on this planet. The incredible diversity and Forms Most Beautiful.
The best Nightwish song ever. Nothing can come anywhere near this.
My favourite live performance from them is phantom of the opera with Tarja Turunen
20:20 is a reference to a music from Bach :) this song is so great ^^
Great reaction PF ! I really think you nailed it by saying " Not only was this the Greatest Show on Earth, but possibly they
are the Greatest Band on Earth ! ". Most certainly Yes ! I would say that personally, i would put them up level with the likes
of possibly Queen, certainly different style, but the same extreme talent, passion & instrumentation ...
This song - this performance brings me to tears every time.
Is that Groot crucified on Tuomas' keyboard stand? 20:55 Enter Sandman! Yes! Before that were snippets of other pieces from various earlier times. Well done for listening to the end.
I just mis two things... The poet and the pendulum and the new album👍 keep up the good work😁👍👍
Have seen them live twice (im a fin) in Lahti and Himos. Both times.... EPIC!! so proud of them. and yes, this song is always the last one :D
The poet and the pendulum next? Ohohohoh you're not prepared for this!!! Nobody can be ready and protected when a song like this hit you in the heart directly :) tsunami of tears incoming!!!!! ;)
Well done and maybe you came, just like me and probably millions of other fellow humans, to just one single conclusion: Nightwish Is everything this world might wish!

yeeeees :)
Said it before, I'll repeat myself again - This is still my favorite Nightwish song.
