- On this video, we will perform the troubleshooting steps starting from the BASIC to the ADVANCED workaround for the ongoing error KB5034441 or Windows Update Error 0x80070643 in Windows 10 & 11.
Option 1 - Retry Windows Update 3x (three times)
Option 2 - Restart your Computer / Laptop.
Option 3 - Turn OFF receive updates from other Microsoft Products
Option 4 - Run Windows Troubleshoot
Option 5 - Run System File Checker (SFC) in Command Prompt (CMD)
Option 6 - Resize Partition in Command Prompt (CMD)
Option 7 - Safe OS Dynamic Update + PowerShell Script

I recommend trying first the basic steps before you proceed to option 6 and 7.
Found some forum that other options really work but depending on your pc build, structure and software.
If you want to ask which option worked for me? that will be Option 7.

yup. You are right. I was impatient and directly tried option 7 based on comments. And that didn't worked for me. Please don't do what i did. so i sincerely followed above options 1-by-1 and OPTION 6 worked for me!!!

@@rexus1769 you have to check if new 250mb partition is created in method 6 and merger it with old recorv partion, then after that you choose it as new partition and do rest instruction, then run power shell.

I can't believe Microsoft would put out an update like this, knowing that most recovery partitions do not have the space available to install it. You're a life saver man!

Why doesn't MS fix its update process? Do they really expect ordinary user to execute option 6 or 7 here??? Why is MS sending out trash and deliberately breaking PCs??? This is criminal...

I hardly ever post comments but I had to in this case. I tried numerous other options on numerous other videos to correct this issue and nothing worked. Luckily I gave it one more shot and found this video, if this didn't work I was going to reformat my PC. The first 5 suggestions I had already done, #6 was the key. Take your time and follow the directions EXACTLY making sure to spell every thing correctly. I've saved this video for the future to pass on to others if need be. You saved me a very frustrating day of reinstalling EVERY THING on my PC!!! THANK YOU!!!!

Also I wasn't really sure what disk I was meant to use for one of the things in 6 (0 or 1), does it matter much, as in will it affect my pc in any way?
Option 7 worked perfectly and easy, thank you (I'd recommend anyone to do option 7 first before 6, as 6 is a little bit more complex)

In my case, for "List disk" I have both asterisks for Disk 0 and Disk 1... What to do? (for me, disk 0 is HDD for storage; and Disk 1 is nVME SSD where OS is installed)

option 6 worked for me thank you so much, ive been fighting this since January, just as an fyi to others who watch this and try option 6, your partition number might not match the one used in the video so be aware of this, example the recovery partition in the video was partition 5 and mine was partition 4, so you may need to adjust accordingly

Both option 6 and 7 didnt work for me and i dont know why i followed all the steps should i repeat it until it works or what should i do?
Edit: I have on both disks an Asterisk on gpt
on option 6 (4:24) I can not execute the shrinking command. It says: "The volume you have selected to shrink may be corrupted. Use Chkdsk to fix the corruption problem, and then try to shrink the volume again."
Please I am looking for any tips I ran Chkdsk and nothing happened

I guess I'm dumb. step 6 and 7 will not work. I just keep running into errors. I have been on this video for 3 hours, I have restarted so many times I'm pretty sure I'm just making it worse. cannot get it to change to gpt what so ever.
While shrinking disc C: do you merged new 250mb with old recovery partiton then choose this new as new recover partion and after that run power shell

Hey man! I searched a lot for this solution but I'm a little bit stuck. You said at the minute 5:12 that we need to type "create a partition primary id=27" if the star does not appear. What do I have to do next? I'm asking because if I type gpt attributes =0x8000000000000001 it gaves me a message with:
"The selected partition is not a GPT partition.
Please select a valid GPT partition and try again."

6th option worked for me aswell. But my question is, my recovery was already 500 mb ! now i have added extra 250mb making it 750 mb. Almost 1GB. Does it need us to do these steps to fix as it is a bug or do we need 750 mb size for this update

Thank you, your help guided me to the solution. Apparently KB5034441 buggy requires Windows RE to boot when disabled (or small partition) then this KB will fail.
A common cause of Win10 is BitLocker and Windows RE being automatically disabled. Unfortunately, the only solution here is to decrypt the disk during installation and enable RE `reagentc /enable`.
Microsoft should be ashamed of itself KB5034441 ;)
ps. of course, I referred to option 6👍, but earlier I used option 7 which probably had no impact on the success of the 6th
i did all the steps in step 6 just to come to realizing there is no recovery partition and now i gotta reset it all or what? :/

Meh tryed all in order, got to option 6 and when trying to create new recovery partition it just fail. Dont try option 6 before option 7. I have to reinstall now

You didnt merged new 250mb partition with recovery partition and didnt choose this new in cmd and after that run power shell
I did all steps excluding 6 but including 7 and still didn't work. 6 gives me an error code when allocating/setting to 250mb. The error code says my disk may be corrupted and when I run a command in cmd (Chkdsk) nothing shows up everything is fine.
Conclusion, please help me fixing the error I get on option 6 guys

5:14 I did as instructed here, but still no asterisk appeared under Gpt after I typed "list disk" again, what should I do? Than "create partition [...]" didnt work next, it said the specified arguments are no valid.

@heim55 I can't remember the solution but this isnt exactly a problem to begin with, you just gotta input another command, search for another tutorial, thats what I did

I’ve been having headaches with this update since it came out and researching solutions always told me to wait for Microsoft to release an update that would fix the error. Some time has passed, some updates have come and this error was still displayed so I decided to look for ways to solve it without having to wait so long. You helped a lot, thank you again.

I can#t manage to make my computer to not open the dynamic update with WINRAR. Idk if this has anything to do with the error Im getting. It just says an erro has occured and then Mount failed: 2

GUYS saw this it happened to me too, unfortunatly i followed all the things exactly till #7 still no update, will reformat win10, but just copy the name of the cab as if you were going to change the name (remember to copy the file extension) then paste the name after a backslash in file manager
