Personally I would have put Tommy in #1 for best representing the GTA protagonist Archetype that fully fits his game and its gameplay. Great list though.
I respectfully disagree with Trevor's placement. Steven Ogg's delivery of "I mourned you" when he and Michael are in the graveyard was a deeply vulnerable moment especially in front the man who threw him away. It shows he was cut deep by Michael's betrayal and genuinely discarded the idea Michael would ever take advantage of his faith at the time. It also shows he never really let go of that brotherhood in being willing to be honest with Michael about how hurt he was. I could also point to when he and Michael corner that asshole exploiting Michaels daughter on the talent show where he says "That girl bounced on my knee as a toddler" indicating Michael trusted Trevor around his children when he was able to keep a lid on his more violent behavior as a younger man. TBH I think Trevor is among the list of more sad GTA characters and quite underrated in how complex he is.
That's a fair comment. I'd still rank him below Franklin and the others overall but you're right I did overlook the deeper aspects of his character in this review but I'm aware of his loyalty and his sensitivities. Thanks for watching!

It's a welcome surprise to see Luis so high on the list. I feel as if nobody mentions him ever despite him feeling like one of, if not the most realistic character in the series (with of course a dash of power-trip with him being a womanizer/badass and all)
To be honest, while I had fun with The Ballad of Gay Tony I only played it once, same with Lost and the Damned. I don't remember Luis too well and I didn't get to do all of his missions or content.
Here is my list from worst to the best: - GTA 1 - GTA 2 Game Boy Color version protagonists - GTA 1969/1961 London - Franklin Clinton - GTA Online Protagonist - Trevor Philips - GTA 2 Claude Speed (for the Hot Dog Homicide! mission, and for farts/blurps) - GTA 3 Claude - GTA Advance Mike - Huang Lee - Michael De Santa - Toni Cipriani - Victor Vance - Luis Fernando Lopez - Tommy Vercetti - Niko Bellic - Johnny Klebitz - Carl Johnson (CJ is the best one) This is my personal preference, and I still respect the voice actors for GTA protagonists.
For me, Trevor was the most obnoxious protagonist, Franklin wasn’t very compelling, and Ned Luke might have acted well, but is a complete ass on social media nowadays.
The Gta 3 theme is just so timeless , you can list to it hours on end . Tommy is my all time favourite then comes CJ , Niko and Luis .

Tommy is my personal fav but I agree that Niko is objectively the best. I really hope they do a good remaster of 4!
