might have to take a week off after that hike but it was worth it to finally have a decent trip on the ice again. i'm thinking of doing some night time crappie fishing on ice in 2 weeks - hope it warms up a little by then - 2 degrees here this morning
i always wanted to try there - probably 3 hr drive for me. cant imagine perch bigger than the 15 inchers erie gives up but the walleye sounds great there
I would say the perch range around 12 inches still some nice slobs. The walleye fishing is fantastic though. I was there Monday and was catching walleye from 3pm until 5:30pm it was awesome
Hogs! Like a typical 14" walleye from our rivers lol. Been slow here too but seems it's picking up. Can't afford anymore ice, don't own an extension for the power auger. Tight lines
i hear ya on the ice - 2' + ice is getting tough with the hand auger - most years the ice ranges 12 -14 " here. i'm hoping the late season makes up for the slow fishing we had
sweet video as usual, wish I woulda checked it out sooner! wish I could've been there I'm dying for some perch- been kinda warm here so I don't know if I'll get out again. That's how the ice is out by Sandusky when I went. Hope all's well & good luck- gonna check the streams again tomorrow after church- way too much runoff the last 2 day's. see ya bro.
Great average size on that pile. I have been getting excellent catches off sturgeon in the last 8 days. Yesterday was 100+ fish and kept 75 or so between 2 of us. We were working 60ft of water and have them locked in. Know one was near us either, we even got steelhead through the ice there. I think your pile had some really nice slabs in there. And your son is a class act. Love the videos.
thanks man - i started ice fishing sturgeon over 25 years ago with a spud bar and a bucket and i tell ya seeing a 13 - 14" perch come through the hole never gets old - got to love Erie. Mike loves the ice fishing but he's really looking forward to the catfish run this spring. good luck man - hope ya stay on em
I'm with mike, catfishing is in my blood. :) Last year was one of the most disappointing years. Not sure why but numbers were down. Do you catfish at night or just in the day? The videos I see are always day.
Thanks again for a awesome informative fishing video.Dad,you gotta really appreciate having Mike there to drill those holes.Man he just whips those holes in.Great workout for this coming football season. Can't wait to see more sloberoski's !
Dude!Dude!Dude!Dude! lol. Bill do you like the frabill with the fly reel? They're fun to fish with but seems like it would take forever to get down the the depth you guys are at. Any trick for that?
As much as I love perch fishin that walk would have killed me ! Mike is in great shape and hey you seemed to have managed. Have you thought of picking up a wheeler or snowmobile to make life on the ice a bit easier? Thanks for sharing once again.
the walk was tough on the knee's and back -i had a tough time keeping up with mike and he was dragging all the gear - someday i'd like to get a boat and a wheeler. thanks
***** As soon as Mike gets on a pro football team and is getting that big MONEY-say -Hey Mike how about a little somethin for the old man! lmao. See ya.....
Nice man, looks like redemption for the last vid, and the one where those fools barged in on your spot. I would have been angry as heck. despite the clear water on feb 17, we managed to pick up 2 steelies and a brown. Gonna post it soon. Nice big perch
