Had to come back and watch this one, you are the channel cat king. you have a video of your canoe side floats, I fish from canoe my self and all ways good to have extry floats with big catfish
Wow, nice fish guys. I've been fishing 50 years and never hooked any channels like those. Flatheads yes, channels no. Chicken livers have always been my main bait in the river here. Creek chubs when I can get them. Congratulations again on some nice fish.
Beautiful man! glad you got out n had fun. nice shirt! I've been dying to get out- wife's still in the hospital and when she comes home she's gonna be on i.v. meds so- it's gonna be a rough summer bro! the weather has sucked anyways! leaving for the hospital now - looking forward to having a few beers and watching your smallmouth video! hope alls well, be safe out there, Happy fathers day!
Ever kept any of the smaller ones? I give you credit Bill, it was pouring yesterday. I had to keep going outside to dump the water off my boat cover. Love these catfish videos.
Craig Arndt Thanks man , never kept one yet but i'm sure theyre good eating. we were stuck under the bridge almost 2 hrs in the downpour but at least it wasnt lightening there
Never tried liver with bobbers. Think i'll give it a go. I never new there was such an animal as a Golden Channel Cat. Very cool. We have Channels here in Michigan but no Golden's. Wish we did though.
I had dun just watching you guys catch em! Ive never had that kind of luck with chicken liver. Sure ive caught a few but nothing like that. Been trying some dip baits here lately with luck for eating sized catfish. Rain is heading in so the river will be kn the rise so hopefully will get into some bigger ones. Loved the video and you guys are proof that chicken liver does in fact bring the nice ones in.
stoping back by as ill be hitting the creek this weekend and i know yall fishing from a canoe in this video. Think ill give the bobber and livers a try this weekend.
thanks a lot I'll check them out i live here in ohio i use liver alot but the chanel cats can clean your hook fast I've also use pantyhose butt it doesn't work all that great thanks for info keep making great videos I'll be watching
Idk how you guys do it with the bobbers if it ain't on bottom I can't catch good cats I can't even catch big shovel heads at pay lakes with bobbers gotta be on the bottom same in the creeks and rivers
I've been nailing more cats this year in the creeks and river here in CA! The low water concentrates them in what few deep holes there are left. Plus low water makes wading safe and easy. Get out there and nail some cats, now is the time!
Way to go gentleman great vid and thank you for sharing it. We have a good lake here in Pa that is loaded with gizzard shad and the channels get BIG. I run into alot pf ppl that think they are blue cats. Pre spawn would have to be my favorite time of year to catch them. When do the channels run the creeks and tributaries up there?
+Rivershark1000 thanks man , the cats start running in mid april when the water warms up a bit but the fishing is best mid may til mid june when they start spawning
great video! and what an awesome day of catfishing! you guys seem like some cool dudes to fish with, when you said "dude, did you see that monster?" i was like "fuckin A i did! lol
jeeze I couldn't even fathom what it would be like to catch some 15 and 20 lb river catfish. biggest cat I've ever caught was a 12 lb channel cat out of my cousin's pond.
Hey if and when i catch my 1st 10+ lb'er catfish would you recommend throwing it back or keep it because i love to eat fish and would eventually like to keep some in the freezer. I don't have a problem with catch and release by any means but what would be smart or environmentally the smart thing to do when deciding on what sizes to keep and what to release? Thanks in advance for your input. ~ Nosh
***** Gotcha' So the 2-5lb'ers are perfect for eating and stocking the freezer. A big whopper like a 10+ - 20lbs use discretion. Sounds good and i appreciate your input / advice. 5lbs is the biggest one i ever caught. I gave it away to someone who was dying for some fresh catfish.
what rod/reel combo were yall using? im using a 7ft med heavy uglystick with a big okuma saltwater convention real with 14 lb braid been catching 10-15 lbers out the delaware just curious as to what gear you guys reccomend?
+ROADSNAKE90ROADSNAKE when using chicken livers as cathfish bait, before you use them do u need to prep them in anyway? Or just buy them from the store and use them?
Hey guys, I'm a local to western new York and just recently started fishing the Gennesse River. If you have fished if, what are your thoughts on it yielding a monster catfish?
Steven Goldstin i fished it many years ago - the lower Genesee near Rochester has some very large channel cats the upper Gennesee has smaller channels 2-4 lbs
Great video's guys! Been watching your youtube channel for years! Just curious? Do you guys ever catch any of the those Bighead White Catfish your supposed to have up there in New York? Only seen them in pictures. Keep up the good work!
Great stuff to say the least, did you guys mention this was during the pre-spawn? Is that a pretty typical pattern to find those pre-spawn cats in deeper holes near the banks like that? Seems like those shallow flats aren't as productive during pre-spawn, are they?
+Michael Bishop THANKS MAN - during the day we mainly find them in the deeper holes but they still cruise the shallow flats to feed after dark . fishing seems best pre spawn when they gather in small schools
+southernfryedyankee unfortunately we dont have any blues or flatheads this far north , probably why the channels do get this big they dont have to compete with those monsters for food
+Bill & Mikes Angling Adventures Ohh that sucks, but a 30 lb channel is a hell of a catch all in itself. Im happy if I can get a channel over 6 or 7 lbs, however we get big blues and flattys here in SC. Check out my page if you get a chance, im going to subscribe to yall, this was an awesome video
the videos a bit long but we caught a lot of fish and had to edit 60 minutes of video down to 20 ----------- if it helps click on setting and watch at 2x normal speed
i get it at cabelas www.cabelas.com/product/Atlas-Mikes-Spawn-Net-x-ft-Roll/702649.uts?searchPath=%2Fbrowse.cmd%3FcategoryId%3D734095080%26CQ_search%3Dspawn%2Bnet bass pro has it too
Bullshit there's big cats like that everywhere in California in fact the record channel cat is 59 pounds at diamond valley lake in Southern California in Northern California obviously you've never heard of the biggest lake in the country clear lake which has average size 10 lb the biggest one was 33 lb caught out of
+Shannon Blankenship heres a link to a video on the liver sacks that tells everything about them including where to get the materials th-cam.com/video/YOIeo5-ESNA/w-d-xo.html
That looked liked a great day fishing. But my stomach started to hurt when i saw you throw those cats back out. MMMMMMmmMMMMM Good ole fried cat fish is the absolute best. Seasoned with a dry rub Cajun seasoning with some fire grilled potatoes with some onions and red an green bell peppers. Damn i'm hungry. Why the hell does it have to be 5:00 am
Got my thill floats and bobber stops along with the swivels you recommend in mail today. Gonna tie sacks and rig up tomorrow. Is it time for cats in the Catt. Would you say Seneca license is essential where you fish?

Those are some huge channel cats, easily competing with those nice flatheads and blues! Great day of fishing!
thanks man
Monster truck
Obviously you have never fished the Alton Lock and Dam. 70lb plus blue and flatheads caught from the bank.
Wow, nice fish guys. I've been fishing 50 years and never hooked any channels like those. Flatheads yes, channels no. Chicken livers have always been my main bait in the river here. Creek chubs when I can get them. Congratulations again on some nice fish.
Thanks man , same here chicken livers and live chubs and shiners always work best for me
I always enjoy watching your catfishing videos.
thanks man i appreciate it
Beautiful man! glad you got out n had fun. nice shirt! I've been dying to get out- wife's still in the hospital and when she comes home she's gonna be on i.v. meds so- it's gonna be a rough summer bro! the weather has sucked anyways! leaving for the hospital now - looking forward to having a few beers and watching your smallmouth video!

awesome video guys. caught some beautiful cats! thanks for the video
+Jackie Downes thank you i appreciate it
I like how you weigh them in the net. It's much easier on the fish than putting the hook from the scale through the gills. Awesome video guys👍👍👍
thanks man , i just got to remember to deduct the weight of the net lol
Great video as always. You guys know how to catch 'em!
bellbucksnbeards thanks man

Ever kept any of the smaller ones? I give you credit Bill, it was pouring yesterday. I had to keep going outside to dump the water off my boat cover. Love these catfish videos.
Craig Arndt Thanks man , never kept one yet but i'm sure theyre good eating. we were stuck under the bridge almost 2 hrs in the downpour but at least it wasnt lightening there

Idk how you guys do it with the bobbers if it ain't on bottom I can't catch good cats I can't even catch big shovel heads at pay lakes with bobbers gotta be on the bottom same in the creeks and rivers
+HUNTFISHTRAPOHIO We set the bobber depth so baits within a foot of bottom mostly - driftin the bobber near bottom in the curent covers a lot of water
i aprectiate u guys very cool vid

I've been nailing more cats this year in the creeks and river here in CA! The low water concentrates them in what few deep holes there are left. Plus low water makes wading safe and easy. Get out there and nail some cats, now is the time!

Thanks in advance for your input. ~ Nosh
jurassicsushi nothing wrong with keeping a few fish for the frying pan , that should be fine but the smaller fish 2-5 lbs always taste better
Why you throw em back? Nice fish.
what rod/reel combo were yall using? im using a 7ft med heavy uglystick with a big okuma saltwater convention real with 14 lb braid been catching 10-15 lbers out the delaware just curious as to what gear you guys reccomend?
yall got some real nice channel cats in yalls water.
FatBoy Dan probably get good size cause theres no flatheads or blues to compete with for food round here
that could just be that as well yall said you have a season as over here its open year round
+ROADSNAKE90ROADSNAKE when using chicken livers as cathfish bait, before you use them do u need to prep them in anyway? Or just buy them from the store and use them?
Jack Metzger we just tie the fresh chicken livers as is from the store
***** okay thanks :)

Thanks man, I'm near Rochester. IV learned that this area is home to monster northerners in the river! Good luck!
thanks for stoppin by to check out the show
Great looking catfishes there
+ohiovalley catfishing thanks
Right on buddy. I use Chicken Liver, but never on bobbers. I'm going to try it next time I am out. Ever tried night fishing like that?
+hockywin it works great in the slower current , i figure at night the cats are on the move so bottom rigs would be better then
Great video's guys! Been watching your youtube channel for years! Just curious? Do you guys ever catch any of the those Bighead White Catfish your supposed to have up there in New York? Only seen them in pictures. Keep up the good work!
thanks man , i never seen one in western newyork - might be on the other end of the state by the hudson river
Hey Bill and Mike, as usual very nice video with you two having a good time - where is this video made , what river..?
+PATKO1 thanks - cattaraugus creek
How deep do you set your bobber? What if you're unsure where the bottom is?
+Zaur Melikov keep adjusting till you get it figured out thats what we do
wow great video men thanks
thank you
Can you tell me what size fishing line you are using, and what lb test it is. Also what type of reels are you using thanks.
Never seen people catching cat with a bobber, I'm going to have to try it now.
Thems some nice ones! Good job!!
+hillbilly bob thanks man
Catfish are the color of the buffalo sabres logo pretty cool
what kind of places do you look for on a river for catfish
i look for outside bends and cut banks where it drops right off close to shore
Great stuff to say the least, did you guys mention this was during the pre-spawn? Is that a pretty typical pattern to find those pre-spawn cats in deeper holes near the banks like that? Seems like those shallow flats aren't as productive during pre-spawn, are they?
+Michael Bishop THANKS MAN - during the day we mainly find them in the deeper holes but they still cruise the shallow flats to feed after dark . fishing seems best pre spawn when they gather in small schools
Got any videos on Flatheads?
+Michael Bishop all we have is channel cats round here
My first big Flathead was caught fishing this way with a live Bream it weighed 25.5 pounds.
i hear other guts tell me they use big floats with live sunfish for flatheads too
What is U Putting The Liver In
If the channels are that big, I would be willing to bet that the flatheads and blues are ridiculously huge in that part of the river.

+Bill & Mikes Angling Adventures thanks man. I just found your channel and I really enjoy the content. keep up the work!
Smoking a cig and fishing 😂😂
What size rods were you guys using?
7' and 8.5 FT med heavy ugly stiks 10 - 20 lb line rating
+Bill & Mikes Angling Adventures thanks for the quick reply I'm going out this weekend!
what kind of hooks do yall use?
***** we were using octopus hooks
This is just me but I would try a rod with a heavier backbone. That would allow for a firmer hook set without giving slack. Like the video.
thanks man - i got a few rods a little heavier action
Bill & Mikes Angling Adventures what hook do you guys use.
Got my thill floats and bobber stops along with the swivels you recommend in mail today.
Gonna tie sacks and rig up tomorrow.
Is it time for cats in the Catt.
Would you say Seneca license is essential where you fish?
Wanna take my wife and our kayaks to give it a try!!
no need for rez license below rt 5 / 20 where i fish - now is prime time for the cats til late june when they spawn
Well thank you very much for reply!! Can't wait to get out their!!

What brand of liver were you using?
Czr Vidz Just regular Chicken liver
