Grandparents are grateful when the house is passed down and the family takes care of it

My grandmother's home was also passed down to a relative so I'm so happy for your aunt. The renovations are coming along so beautifully. Love that Toto is overseeing all of the work! haha!

I'm beyond excited to see the finished product. Auntie is going to LOVE with you did (and Mike too). Her house was always special because it was "the house", but now it will be extra special to her because you added your heart and love to it. I love that the house is under construction chaos, and yet the linen closet at the of the hallway is perfectly organized 🤩 The updates so far are beautiful, and I cannot wait for the final reveal. When that happens please link the ceiling fans 😜 Your grandmother is smiling on you, Mike, your aunt, and all of those construction guys from above in gratitude for loving this home as much as she did and bringing it a new life. 💕 What a beautiful gift you all are sharing 🙏🕊

Looking good, Nikki! Having a ceiling fan in each room is a great idea, especially on hot days. White really makes each room appear bigger. Looking forward to the completion and the big reveal. I know you and your team are going to kill it. I know your aunt is excited just as much as your are!

I was so excited to see an update on your Grandmothers home!
I and with you on the subject of white ceiling fans. We moved into our home me 9 years ago.
We had 4 ceiling fans that made the home seem to have a split personality.
They ranged from a Hunter green and acrylic art deco style, an antique brass and white fluted cups and bright gold brass with opaque and clear floral pressed glass collar with up lighting.
We changed out the 3 all identical white that blend into the ceiling.
The eat in kitchen fan was removed and a smaller sized chandelier that matches of dining room light room was installed.
Everything is looking amazing! She is going to love it!

I’m updating my parent’s home as well. I replaced the doors and removed the popcorn ceiling and it has made a huge difference in the overall look of the house. When people first walk into the house the first thing they say is that it looks sooo much brighter. I can’t wait until I update the kitchen.

Nikki it’s looking good so far 😮. Like you said little tweaks here there makes so much of a difference. Changing the door & doorknobs with painting the rooms & removing carpet did wonders. But the feature wall is an upgrade (beautiful)❤. Can’t wait to see more, I will keep watching 😊.

Nikki this is beautiful! You have honored your Grandmother's legacy and certainly uplifted your Aunt. When all is said and done please let us know what the cost of this project was. I'm looking to do something similar to my house in the upper Midwest but I'm not sure what kind of a budget I'd need or if I need to take a home improvement loan. Thank you SO much for all that you do. I just love your content.

Everything looks great! Why not build a ramp for the back/side door instead of redoing the stairs?
That artwork seems a little contemporary for an older woman, along with such a dark wall. Older folks tend to desire bright white walls due to aging eyesight.
