I think the reason why you're not noticing that much of a difference with regard to furniture placement is because you have the ideal layout going now. The space you are working with is narrow and creating a conversation area that flows circular, but also includes the fireplace is the most ideal setup, in my opinion. Other than accessory changes and color changes, I really don't see what else you would need to do with that room. It looks functionally accurate to me, and it's attractive.
I had a similar living room and would switch my couch and chairs around seasonally (Spring/summer, Fall/winter). We had a huge wall of windows and it would utilize the natural lighting well. Always felt fresh!
Thank you for putting this together! There’s so many options now so having an overview is brilliant. I really liked mid journey and xona (for the colours). You have a great sense of style and I like how you used ai as a idea generator and prompt to inspire you.
Its one way to use it if your clueless. I am not online advertising, so I wouldn't want my personal pictures, out there in cyberspace. I see you all over it, so I know it helps you, for what your after. And that a plus! 👍 Hope your business is doing well for you, Christina! ❤
This video was really entertaining. This proves that we definitely need human interior designers. I really enjoyed the weirdly shaped coffee table in the Joanna Gaines design. 😂😂
It's not AI, but I like to use Apply Design when helping clients visualize a rearrange or trying to figure one out for myself. 10$ to upload a photo of your space, then you can virtually clear it and rearrange and try out different furniture styles to your heart's content. Of course, nothing beats just getting in there and moving stuff around!
Hi Christina! 🌟 Thank you so much for featuring 🏡 Decoratly in your TH-cam video! Your review means a lot to us. 😊 As the creator of this app, I’m thrilled to see it showcased on your channel. Keep up the fantastic content-I really enjoy your videos! 🙌🏼✨
i would love to see you paint the lower area darker and leave the upper white and paint the ceiling same white as the upper wall section, and thank you for this video! i loved that you narrowed down these options. great job :)
Love the chairs in front of window. Really opens up space. However, if you need more seating love the two couches facing each other as well. Always love your videos! You are very talented and inspiring! Great example for your girls too!!
Hello, first time to your channel. Thank you for viewing these interior decorating apps, this is what I've been looking forward to using. Your video review is a big help.
I liked the way it was styled before better as I felt it was better balanced visually. I don't feel the chairs have enough weight to them to handle being on the right. The teal sideboard is lovely and provides an excellent contrast to the browns of the chair wood. I feel the cream sofa doesn't offer enough contrast. I agree with you on refreshing your space every now and then. I used to move my furniture around on a regular basis. I stopped doing it when I found the "right fit" for it. It optimizes the area and is inclusive for watching t.v. or entertaining. Your home is pretty. There's nothing wrong with playing around. Enjoy yourself. 😊
Its nice that you tried all these programs out and shared the kinks with us. Put your room in a blender and spit it out, ha ha ha. The last one is my favorite design suggestion also. It seemed a bit more difficult to use though. I like the sofa on the left, nice change. Maybe your spring/summer room and on the right side for winter, since its cozier.
Your room looks beautiful! I do think your green cabinet is a bit too light green, a slightly darker green (more of the tree color from the other side of the room? ), that is the only thing that really stood out at the end. Such a great video, definitely still prefer to human touch when it comes to design
Yes, your new arrangement is SOOO much better; makes the room look larger...in your initial picture, the room looked very crowded with minimal space to move around...looked like you put too much in one small room
I enjoyed all the ideas but I think your style and ideas have them all beat. Sadly I can’t move my furniture I have a large sectional and with L shape half walls with openings and my galley kitchen behind the walls with 2 large sliding doors on 2 walls and a fireplace across from my sofa and it is a wonky house . It’s in the mountains and I swear who ever built it was on something. 😆 My door is straight on top and the sides bow out and come back in. It crazy but we got a great price on this house so it is what it is. I really enjoy your channel. ❤️
I'm glad you did this comparison, because I wanted help with furniture rearrangement but sadly these apps didn't do the work that a creative human could perform, just not relying on changing color of the room.
Your room, YOUR design works, at least from my perspective, beautifully. AI is only as good as those program it. No matter what, humans are still behind the AI. Thank you as always for the interesting point of view. 🙋🏼♀️👏🏻⚡️💫
I loved this video! Some of the suggestions were just funny but I especially liked how you took ideas from the AI generated images to tweak your own space. I think that would also be helpful for my own decorating because sometimes you just need an image to inspire you. It is very helpful that it is an image of your own space. I think your space looks lovely.
I think I’ll keep doing my work on paper with measured spaces and furniture. I am hoping to find something AI that could show elevations of existing furniture like your last solution. The IKEA planner is not working for me as it did.
I used the Remodel AI app. It let me custom design my room until I typed in "long black curtains over the windows". It added the long black curtains, but simultaneously changed the color of the back wall Is there an app that's good for designing a room piece by piece, and changing colors of pieces, as well as showing you walls and floors?
...I am so" Old School.." 😁😉😄.. .. Always drawing out a Footprint, working out a " New Floorplan for Furniture " on Paper... then I just start moving things around... the " Old fashioned Way .... " I take all the stuff out of the room except the big pieces ( a few actually " stay where they are " ,only because that’s the right spot for that piece of Furniture, or it wont fit other than where it currently is .) So... thats what I've done for Decades ....lol. These A.I. Renderings .. only decent one was the one with the 4images of the Room. Yes. Good for a laugh 😅 ! So ,all this would be a " Hard Pass " for me. I'll stick with my Old School Ways. ...lol.
The hitch is that AI can’t create. It can only copy. Today’s decorating is based on television and what it draws from is cookie cutter products that sell in cookie cutter stores. If one want a compelling room, step, away from the TV and social media decor pages for six months. Clean your palette. Only then can you create the look that will bring out your true bliss.
I was trying your links but I cannot find interior design options :( you video is fairly new, so I am thinking if I am doing so thing wrong. I use the links you provided
I really need some help ...i have just rented a house and it is completely empty..can you suggest me an app that it can do the job for me , i mean even where to put the right furniture in the right spot , because i have no time or experience to do so.. Thank you so much in advance !
Personally, I am not impressed with any of the AI renderings. Basically, you just flipped your room and I think you could most certainly come up with that idea on your own. When it comes to rearranging furniture, sometimes you just have to move things around to know if it will work or not. Also, my personal opinion is that the sofa would look best facing the fireplace, with a chair on either side of the fireplace. Just my opinion, but I prefer chairs on a slight angle as they would be on either side of the fireplace, rather than straight on facing the sofa. It seems cozier to me. No angle seems like they are set up for a meeting. LOL Just my opinion, of course. ♥
@@thediymommy Understood. Hard to tell from pictures how much space there is. I just went back and looked and noticed that you did angle the chairs across from the sofa. ♥ So much cozier than straight on as a lot of people do.
Considering how many AI designers came up with the same furniture design suggests that with the architectural layout of your room, you already have the optimal furniture placement.
Not a fan of AI making choices for me. Now if you could upload your furniture and tell it where you wanted to place things and get a decent rendering of it, then I may think about trying it to save time moving furniture or drawing time.
Interesting, but AI robs us of our own creativity - the beauty, magic and fun of decorating is the creative process. I love finding inspiration from TH-cam or magazines.
I agree that the Midjourney one was best. I don’t have a clue how to use it but my husband does, and since I need ideas for decorating our new house I will ask him to see what it comes up with for us. Thanks for sharing!
Christina, you definitely have NO fear of being replaced by AI decorating programs with the decorating talents you have! That being said, be aware tho that AI is meant to replace HUMANS and HUMANITY. Guard yourself.
Respectfully, (1.) sometimes, you just have to put in your information more than once, in order to get around those bizarre AI renderings. Other times, I alter the (preferably HI RES photo) somehow, and receive a completely different render. (2.) FAAAARRR too many people read the term “design” as “decorate”. (This is why there are so many not-registered decor peeps who call themselves designers.) As a result, might I suggest you look more closely at “interior architecture”? Great luck. Cheers🇨🇦. P.S. Doubling and tripling items is actually highly designer. Double and triple coffee tables (sometimes, similar ones on top of each other if not in a group). Double and triple drapes, ottomans, et cetera, et cetera. I see that your final AI was quite helpful. Perhaps, as suggest respectfully, eventually, consider a less dark shade up top? JMHO🙂.
Hi Christina, 1. Neither I'm afraid of AI taking away the jobs of creative and even non-creative professionals. Why? With all due respect, none of these programs offered better solutions than the one you already came up with. 2. I liked your original design and while the new one isn't bad, it isn't any better; it's just newer. That's it. And it's nothing shaking, lol; surely, you would have come up with this idea yourself if you had not decided to test the programs. 3. Some time ago, I tested the AI with some other "problem-solving ideas," and to be honest, I wasn't impressed at all. I was offered banal solutions that I already knew, as I also knew they didn't work😞. (Therefore I asked AI🙂.) I was wondering if the robot knew something more than me. Spoiler alert, it didn't!). 4. AI solutions for your living room are not very impressive. You found the optimal layout yourself, so, no robot can come up with a better one. Different, yes. Better? No. 5. In this particular case, automated designing ideas are more for people who don't have a "designer's thumb", or for those who start "with the blank page" where there is nothing defined, but dimensions, world sides, and openings in the walls for doors and windows. And they are overwhelmed with the amount of potential options. Overall, useful and interesting video; thank you! Take care and keep testing 🙂!

I think it simply confirms that YOU are the expert 🙂
Yes, I'm not worried about AI taking over designers/stylist's jobs anytime soon. ☺️

Wow, this was fun. I did not know this AI design feature even exsisted.
It’s a hard pass for me. Honestly, you have the creativity that AI’s wish they had!
It's fun to play with, but like I said at the end I agree - it'll never replace human creativity 🙌🩷
Are these comments paid?
Agreed!
I agree❤
Wow the transformation was perfect love the long couch on the left definitely made the space feel more spacious and inviting.

Are there any ai programs that help with kitchen redesign as well as the adjoining spaces?
Which AI tool would you recommend to style employ rooms. I have no furniture use yet.
Xona AI is tthe best. Hands down.
ahh wish she used the creative upscaler, that fixes almost all of those ai glitches and adds tons of texture, clarity and overall image quality

My space like yours I have a dining table in front of the fire with 2 big comfy chairs and a bench. It's our library lounge.
Repaint the cabinet on the left. It does not go with your living room. It's throwing it off. Just an idea

Try 5D planner and do the layout options urself
Do you think uploading an empty room picture would do a better job?
I don’t see how any of these programs can work well without putting in real measurements.
They all proved you had great taste in the first place! Trust yourself you're the best. By the way I.hate to ask but what is Reddit?

Human touch is always best. But maybe try some of those again, but edit out the large furniture pieces before uploading the picture.
Yes, maybe!
None of the rooms had any ideas with diagonal furniture placement Sometimes those unexpected type of rooms are the answer
