This was such an accurate comment. I loved hearing the song and watching the video first on my own, and now I can’t stop watching the video reactions cause it is SO profound!
Stages of watching Hi Ren: This looks creepy Guitar sounds nice Oh he’s singing Will the whole song be like this? Here’s the beat Ok he’s rapping now This guy is scary Now he seems nice Oh I see what he’s doing This is interesting This is intense The mean guy is a jerk This is INTENSE Make it stop I haven’t blinked or taken a breath in 2 minutes Go Ren! YES! OOO-OO-OO-OO-OO-.. I need some time to be still…
The first time I heard it I cried and immediately called my brother who has been ill for 30 of his 50 yrs. He said he has never heard a more authentic song in his life. He said it made him realize that there are others out there as bad off as he is. He now listens to this song as therapeutic.
I cried for an hour. Then I contacted a therapist. Enough of this victim stuff....I'm now a student. I love REwatching now, to catch all the subtleties; and I love watching reactions from therapists, guitarists, cinematographers, voice coaches, etc.
He may have but the sound track is not the live one, it's the record. Listen to Chalk Outlines, its unbelievably clear that it's live where this one isn't.
@@adamkocher3364 None of his soundtracks for these songs are live. It's only the videos on TH-cam that are done live. The only one I've found that's live is Blind Eyed.
I think you are missing the meaning of "live". In other words this was recorded in one take, meaning that it was recorded live and he was actually performing it during the recording of the video. He wasn't lip-syncing and was actually playing the guitar during recording. If you look closely, you can see the microphone clipped to his collar and at the end just before the spoken dialog he u plugs his guitar to avoid feedback.
I am stunned. I have never seen mental illness explained so eloquently… you are correct. This is art. Beautiful, horrible, terrifying, thought provoking…
I was listening for the first time with you. My depression has been getting the better of me the last few weeks and I haven’t been able to see the light. I’m faking being strong for those who need me, but I feel like there’s nobody around for me when I’m in need. This song, beginning to end, hit me in the core of my soul. I’m going to wake up tomorrow, I’m going to keep waking up, I may not live every day, but every day I will exist. If I cannot live, then I will love. I will continue to exist and I will remember that I am human…
Hi William Jesus is there for you. Humble yourself. Be man enough to acknowledge that you need God's help. I claimed depression as well. I called it 'my blackness'. When I stopped claiming it - it went away because I trusted in Jesus
This is the first time I have heard this young man. I am 74 year women and I love all kinds of music. This young man has touched my heart and I will be looking for him on TH-cam! Thank you for sharing.
"I'm the voice that you hear when you loosen the noose on the rope" - a brilliant and impactful line. I was glad to see it hit you like it hits me. Every damn time.
That's a great line in song full of great lines. "You should be so lucky to have me inside you. Remind you to manage expectations provide you perspective" To me that's the most powerful line that I catch myself thinking all the time. Most times these thoughts make so much sense and that's what makes them dangerous.
I have watched MANY reactions to this song. This is the first that has visibly reacted to that line. It's one of the most impactful ones of the whole song. Imo
Holy shit. As a general rule, I stay away from songs that "everyone is talking about." I've never thought that a single one that I actually sat and listened to was at all worth the hype it generated. But when I saw that you were reacting to this one, I chose to give it a try through you. I am not sorry i did. This is the absolute height of creativity and absolutely genius.
This song is in all of us but it took this creative genius to reveal it, reminding us that his struggle is all of our struggle unique and the same. Thank you Ren ♥️
I've lived with an autoimmune illness called Systemic Scleroderma since I was 17yo, and I've struggled with depression and anxiety as well because of it and other life circumstances. That's why I connect with this song soo much, it's very relatable to just about everybody who has struggled in life. This isn't just a song, this song is one of the best pieces of art I've ever seen and it cuts right down to the soul!!
@@Len_M. Met Ren when we were both in Germany for Lyme disease treatment, great guy. I really enjoy seeing him do so well and making the world a better place by telling his story
I love how mid comment after the breakdown you were in the middle of talking, and he came back and you just kind of stopped talking. It shows the power of this song/performance. Loved watching your reaction to this
I am stunned and shocked at the brilliance of the depth of the struggle of man's inner demons. These lyrics are on another level of genius. like you said it is Art.
When the song started I didn't think it was going to be my cup of tea but now I'm here at the end and I'm sobbing. My name is also Ren so it came across as more relatable to me I guess, but damn he's totally right.
I was not ready for this journey. I'm not even sure what the hell happened but that's the beauty of it. This is the first time I've heard this and I'm so happy I did.
I'm soo happy to see you finally check this masterpiece out!!! This song has really had an impact on me and it's amazing to see soo many people connecting with it. I really hope you do "Jenny/Screech/Violet's Tale", I heard that song for the first time 2 weeks ago and I was even more blown away. This kid is the most creative artist I've ever heard, he needs to be promoted EVERYWHERE!! 🤘🤘🤙🤙
Same ☝☝ Also been waiting and commenting for this reaction. The Jenny and Screech full has to be next and you won't regret it Alex. Ren is a prodigy and I think he's just getting started
I 100% agree with you Steve! 👏I'm dropping the link here for Alex - th-cam.com/video/TYAnqQ--KX0/w-d-xo.html The story is grim and harrowing but OMG it is a creative masterpiece and a genius at work! ☮❤Sea Point, Cape Town
I've been writing music, playing professionally all my life. Since I was 18 years old. I'm still today putting my 20 year old through school with my music. Its important to co-sign my ability so that when I say.. I've never written anything even close to the genius that we just witnessed... The point does not land on def ears. This song is in a league all to its own. We are all blessed to have experienced it.
This is a profound work of art…….I am 73 and this is my first time hearing his work…..I commend this young man for his brilliant expression of how the devil works on our innocent souls and how he spreads the word to be mindful of the battle between good and evil that we, as humble humans, face everyday. We must keep hope in our hearts that we make the right choices. May the Good Lord Bless and keep Ren in his protection.
I'm stunned .. just Freakin stunned. This is like listening to a Shakespearean Soliloquy in song. A one man Broadway superstar. I don't say this about many artists ...but I think we are witnessing {REAL} musical Genius here !!
@@michaelw1412not even close too how impactful as ren is but he still a lot better then most rappers of course this is just my opinion and u are fully entitled to disagree
When you commented on him rapping. I chuckled and thought, " Oh no you havent heard him rap yet." The hunger, losing it then what you want. That will get ya started. :) thanks for playing Rens music. The young man the world is falling in love with. We are starved for reality, great music and his brand of genius. Ren does a lot of his music live and sometimes one take. No label. This song was done for $1000.
I've said this before, but there is a turn in the music scene right now that only happens every 10 years or so. Ren, Sleep Token, Dayseeker, Lorna Shore. These artists are changing the landscape of music right now. This is an exciting time.
This got me so hard i burst out in tears once i heard some of the lyrics. I've been battling my own autoimmune kidney disease, diabetes and depression for a few years and was born with a handicap (missing chest muscle) and some of it is extremely relatable, like the negative voice is something that haunts me to this day. If it wasn't for me finding your reactions to "kids react to" vids i would never have heard this song so thank you.....
Dude, that blew my mind. I never would've heard it if you didn't react to it. This was intense, dark and beautiful at the same time. I really felt his struggle, and ultimately his peace with himself. Damn that was good
As someone with severe bipolar, i suffer from psychosis in manic and depressive episodes, so i relate to this heavy. I am on medication now and the highs arent as high and lows not as low, the voices come back every now and then but now im much better.
I'm so glad you're better. The world needs people like you, like Ren, people who are strong enough to communicate what it's like to have such strong forces inside. Hang in there, the world needs you!
the creativity of this piece is amazing .. wow .. its not really a song like you said . its artwork and relaying of a powerful messege in a powerful way .. truely amazing and brilliant .. Peace be to all .. Gods peace and love i hope on all
I have tears leaking from my eyes. You're right, this isn't just a song, it's art. I've never heard anything that captured the reality of mental illness so vividly. I developed Bipolar 1 when I was 11 years old. I've heard those same messages in my head, originally as an actual voice, since treatment more like a quiet recording played on a constant loop. I love that it's hope that holds back the darkness, because I've fought that battle for 50 years and I know that the wheel always turns: as terrible as the dark times are, as much as it seems they'll never end, they always do. Keep fighting, friends, for your joyful times. If they aren't there at the moment, they will be soon.
I know nothing about Auto Immune Illnesses, but i suffer from Decades filled with severe Depression, suizidal thoughts and Loneliness. About 6 weeks ago i stumbled upon this *Masterpiece* created and delivered by Ren. It hit me like a train to the stomach. I have watched maybe 50 Reaction Videos, professional Musicians, Therapists, Psychologists, Nurses or just random people talking about "Hi Ren", how much it impressed, moved them, blew their minds. This is something VERY special and unique. And still, after watching it so many times, i always get goosebumps and tears. Never before in my 55 years of existing ( can´t call it living anymore because of the Depression ) have i been moved so much, have i felt something so intense after hearing a song and lyrics such as in this piece of Art created by Ren. This is not only a song, this is not only lyrics by a fine and very talented wordsmith ( someone called his style "Bardcore" ), this is an experience i will never forget.
Same here heres a little trick that has helped me since i discovered this song. Make it your alarm in the morning. I never wanted to get out of bed in the morning but ever since i put this song as my alarm its perfect it starts and by the time it gets to the part where he stands im feeling inspired and thats when i get up then i just stand there and take in the remaining parts of the song(May even sing along to the singing part haha). I start my day off with some hope now everyday although that may not last every time it sure has made the start to my days a lot better.
"can´t call it living anymore because of the Depression" I hear you bro. Been there again and again. I think I made a peace with myself, knowing that it will never disapear and trying to enjoy the life when I'm not down. But I feel so exhausted, doomed to strive every single day...
Your words made me well up. X😔 Ren is the seratonin and dopamine that the world needs RN. ❤🌹 and in turn he needs us to send him positivity to get through this tough time. X
this has become my anthem for life, the inspiration on being able to enjoy life and manage the demons. not only does it represent mental health but it also represents people who dealing with and live with chronic illnesses. love ur reaction
The song structure itself is incredible. It starts off as a battle between his positive (Angel) and negative (Demon) aspects, the negative makes an overpowering last ditch effort to reign supreme, but ultimately fails as the final act, being the "God" aspect, emerges Triumphant, though still acknowledging and accepting that it will always be a battle because we are all "a coin with 2 different sides". It's a powerful piece of performance art that gives "broken" people HOPE. It's a beautifully raw musical masterpiece. Ren is special. Welcome to the Ren rabbit-hole, it's a trip worth taking.
Hmmm, in his song - he expressed the word HOPE. There is a movie with Kevin Costner where he says, “if you lose your hope, you die.” That is so true. It is such a beautiful word. May we all be filled with hope!
He has an amazing trilogy. I’d recommend you do them all in one reaction. They are short and all live one take shots. They need to be watched in order to make sense. Jenny’s tale Screeches tale Violets tale A true work of art
Alex I had to come back and re-watch this reaction. Apparently I did follow you back in the day I didn't realize. I thought you looked familiar way back when when I found your Movie channel and it's probably because of your music reactions! This is by far my favorite reaction from you. Very authentic
I've watched a lot of your reactions. And I've watched a lot of other people react to this song. This. This was my favorite one I've ever seen you do. Loved what you had to say. Keep making great videos my man.
ALEX! I am so glad that you finally reacted to Ren... he is amazing in oh so many ways... we all have our battles, some more blantant then others, but where there is darkness there is light...I work in the substance abuse and mental health field, as a therapist, and i have shown this to many of my patients who can relate to Ren on so many levels and know that they are not alone... Thank you for offering to be someone to reach out to... if we all did that this world would be a better place...
Wow I am glad to have come across this music video today. I’ve been so numb for so long but this really moved me. Such precise and concise descriptors of the human struggle
I have been waiting to see this particular reaction from you. I love and respect the way you listened intently and gave it the honest reaction from you in every way. This gentleman is a movement. He’s providing a message to the masses through his personal turmoil and love for the art. Thank you sincerely for your reaction, my friend. Peace and love to you all!🫵🏼👊🏼👌🏼
This is just scratching his surface. Every song he does is absolutely phenomenal. You will strongly feel every emotion known (and perhaps new ones) while exploring his music.
I found him a month or so ago, and in all honesty, his level of talent is like nothing I’ve ever seen. His creativity and musical ability is hard to comprehend. He’s independent, so we need to help him push his music! If any of you reading this haven’t checked out Ren, seriously, go to his channel page and read about him and check out his music. I know you’ll be amazed just like I was - and with every song I find, I’m amazed all over again!
You said some honest and beautiful words at the end . You showed understanding. This piece of art is breathtaking. It's overwhelming the first time you hear it. All the reaction videos at the end just sit in silence for a while, just like you did
This is amazing. It was very obvious to me what was going on right from the beginning. This was genius. Even better, I could hear and understand every word, no matter the voice. The main reason I don’t listen to rap is I can’t understand the words because of poor diction. The music/guitar was outstanding. It showcased his message. This video is in a class all by itself.
You are going to go down a rabbit hole of emotion and masterful story telling if you continue to check out Ren! The man is a story telling God! Check out the trilogy ( Jennys tale then screeches tale then violets tale) I promise you won't regret it, you'll feel the emotion and the journey all 3 of them have been on like you're reading a 5 minute book! Absolutely no one else like Ren out there dude
Art is THE word for this. The performance/emotion that comes through here is next level. I have watched this so many times now and it still hits so hard
I have taken an interest in Ren and his music, yet this was the first time I heard this all the way through, and like you say this is a masterpiece. And it was great to see someone else react to it. Loved what you had to say about Ren and his work.
Been watching hi ren reactions, been waiting for this one. I've been through and go through so much Ren does, he got his autoimmune secondary to lyme disease, but I've had autoimmune disease (lupus) symptoms for over 20 years now at least, and don't have an inner voice that sounds like a voice, but I do struggle with anxiety, depression and more that tells me everyday that I am failing and always will. This song echoes with my life and I listen to it everyday for motivation to keep pushing through and learn to dance that dance. Because he's right. I have tried my entire life to find doctors, medications, life style changes, diets, anything to defeat the symptoms, both physical and mental, but things are easier when you accept the pendulum. Do what you can to help yourself. Take care of yourself. Push forward to achieve things, but don't try to fight the negative thoughts. Accept them, hear them, and move on. Some times there is value in the negative thoughts, sometimes there isn't. But it's easier to accept them but keep moving on then it is to try to squash them altogether. Because we cannot. They are a part of us. As ren says, it is a part of being human. It is a universal experience since the dawn of man. Some have worse struggles with it than others, some give into the dark id of their minds, but we all can be the students rather than the victims if we learn to live with that "voice" rather that to fight it to the end.
Love that you reacted to this. This was a fine piece of art. The tale of Jenny and screech/violet’s tale should be next, or if you’re looking to hear more of his musicianship/vocals, his band The Big Push did a cover of i shot the sheriff/road to Zion/hip-hop (same video) that blew me away. Very talented chap and I’m 💯 impressed.
He is so real. He sees inside his own mind and ours. This young man is astounding, strong, honest. Talented. Brave. Truthful. And so Helpful. Thank You Ren.
To all the negative Nancy's who called this trash or said it's not music. Hope your words taste good as they are being fed back to you. Cuz are boy Ren has hit over a million subs and it all started with this SONG.
Wow! I never heard of this Ren and wasn't expecting much... I haven't heard anything that has had such an impact so quickly on me before. I am dumbfounded, astounded... Mind blown. After the chills, after feeling brain-slapped, I can only sit here... when I recover, I'll look into this artist/genius... and listen/watch this again... to better comprehend... Ren...
This track moves my to tears every time, my own struggles with mental health are not as directly intense, but no less traumatizing. and the humanity of this song and how much i reflect its message in my own experience make it so powerful. This song is genius.
Great reaction. “Hi Ren" is the song that put Ren on everyone's radar since December; it went viral and has garnered more than 5 million views since its debut, but he has been creating great music for more than ten years. Ren’s music videos are generally recorded live, often in a single take, although not necessarily the first take, and from various camera angles. His release, "Sick Boi," is almost another chapter to "Hi Ren." Many of his songs resonate with people because he addresses struggles that many others face every day. Ren plays multiple instruments (acoustic, electric, and bass guitar, piano, drums), has impressive vocals, is an excellent storyteller, and is quite the philosopher and poet. He is considered by many a modern bard. His trilogy "The Tale of Jenny/Screech/Violet" is haunting and has an unforeseen conclusion. It needs to be watched in the order given, as this is the flow of the storyline. It is another example of Ren’s genius and a master’s class in storytelling. It has been likened to a Shakespearean tragedy. Ren’s collaborations with Chinchilla (“Chalk Outlines,” “How to Be Me”) are beautiful and showcase his singing voice while addressing mental health. His live music videos are especially impressive. Ren's personal reflections are threaded through many of his songs; "Insomnia," "Depression," “Diazepam," “Penitence,” “Dear God,” “Heretic,” “Dominos,” his "Freckled Angels" album, just to name a few, all deserve a listen. His song "Money Game" (Part I & II) is another recommendation, although it is less of a personal song than it is an indictment of greed and the resulting injustices in this world. Ren’s Hip Hop/Rap style songs are all worth checking out if you enjoy this genre; they are pretty amazing. Check out “The Hunger,” “Genesis,” “What You Want,” “Losing it (FISHER rap retake),” “Right here, right now (Fatboy Slim one shot retake),” "Life is Funny," “Love Music (Parts 1, 2, and 3),” “Crucify Your Culture,” “Power,” and his latest release, “Bittersweet symphony (The Verve retake).” As I recently discovered, Ren also recorded a cover of “Can't Help Falling In Love (Elvis Cover),” that is simply beautiful. Then there are his performances with Sam Tompkins (“Blind Eyed,” “Earned it /Mans World / Falling,” “Walking on the moon/No Diggity”), Eden Nash (“Humble,” “Ocean”), Bibi (“Crutch,” “Ahiahiaoha”), Molly McKinna (“Penitence”), his former bandmate, Romain Axisa (“French Song”), which are all great. Ren's performances as a member of the band "The Big Push" (which unfortunately broke up), their busking (street performances), concerts, and their live recordings, are awesome and well worth checking out. Ren's covers of "I Shot the Sheriff," "Wade in the Water," "An Englishman in New York," “War Pigs,” the songs "Oh My Woman," “Swan Song,” “Sweet Little Lady," "It's Alright," "Watch Out," “Dignity,” and so many others are equally impressive. Ren recently released his single, “Sick Boi.” In anticipation of his stay in Canada for more treatments, Ren prepared some music ahead of time to be released over the next six months that he expects to be gone. As mentioned above, his latest release, “Bittersweet Symphony (The Verve retake),” is another masterful work.
exactly, it is and after experiencing Ren for a while now its mindblowing to read all this within a minute and get an overview of HOW MUCH epic stuff he already put out there. And theres even more we dont know of, he never released or only just once droped a little bit in a life stream. Some of this can be found on a channel here called something with "shorts" in it if I dont get it wrong. But I dont remember. Just amazing. Having no words to describe this human being and his qualities. But we are lucky, hes a genius in this and he does it in quiet some tracks already. 😁
found the channel, its called Ren makes music fans. and here is one clip, oh boy I hope so its on the new Album. 😁 th-cam.com/video/jezKuWYQ05c/w-d-xo.html
Nice to bump into you again Jens.everywhere I go to see the reactions you have already been before me. So I dont need to explain anything because you do it perfectly You should consider setting up a Ren fan site here on you tube to help him in his quest.i just think you would be great at it. Thanks again Jens.🇬🇧👍
I know nothing about this artist, and this is the first time I have heard it. Without trying, this artist has created the only original thing I have seen in a long long time. I would listen to the music part of this song over and over just to hear the spoken piece at the end.
That was an incredible experience beginning to end! Loved it couldn’t take my eyes or ears away from screen. Very very good ! I’m struggling to find the words to describe how much I enjoyed that!
I love watching reactions to Ren and the best are the ones like you, with that look of awe! The same feeling I had and have with every song. Great reaction video!
I agree with the idea that this took courage to show his vulnerability. I think it’s why this video has resonated with so many. I’m a 54 year old woman and I can relate. REN is really struggling in Canada recovering from his recent surgery. I wish him all the best. ❤️
It's definitely exhausting! It makes you feel hopeless, and all you want to do is escape. It's so comforting to know that you're not alone and that you're not crazy! Just like this song says, there is hope! There is always hope!
This gives me chills and tears every time. I also have an autoimmune disease called Primary Biliary Cholangitis that impacts the liver and without very expensive medication (one of my medications is $100 per pill) I would eventually develop cirrhosis and die. This song is so relatable to anyone who struggles with that inner voice coming from shame, fear and pain. Great reaction.
Ren is a performer. Not just a singer a musician . A storyteller who just happens to play sing and act his stories out. I knew this would get your soul too
Wow👏👏 that was amazing! I'm a 52 year old guitarist and songwriter who's struggled with the same issues.. But Ren described it perfectly and expressed it in a way that I never could.. Better than anything I've written and probably ever could.. This song and performance is outstanding 👏👏. So glad I heard this, thanks for posting it❤️
Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention. I probably never would have sat through it but you were right when you said it was an experience. That gave me chills
Wholly sheet that's amazing! He's like a Broadway musical all by himself! It's dark as hells but there's something really special about it that I think will really resonate with a wide range of people.
FIIINALLY!!! I was so waiting for you to jump onto the Ren Train! I love his flows in "Genesis", "The Hunger", and his genius flex, "Losing it"! For more Bardcore, do the Tales Trilogy in one sitting! Explore the British soul with "Bittersweet symphony" and "Right Here, Right Now" or go to his singing tunes, like "Diazepam". The man produces everything himself. And THANK YOU for not repeating the "He is so talented!" trope. Playing music on this level asks for years of practicing each instrument he plays. He raps, sings, plays virtuous guitar and bass, and I've seen him hammering away on a train station public piano. Have you been RENdered, yet?
I'm so glad you finally got to see this. I have been hoping to see this reaction. I love that you see it for what it is. Ren is awesome, I've been obsessed for a couple weeks now. If you want to see his rapping skills at work check out Hunger, it's nuts!!
Never heard this song or this artist. I came because of your title. I stayed because I was mesmerized. I now go in search of more of his music. This was just brilliant. Keeping track of each persona, playing the intense music. Wonderfully talented. Thankyou and thank him.
Like the song says: Ren really is a genius. I love everything about this song: the lyrics, the rapping, the singing, the guitar, the simple video. I have never seen so many reactions to a song featuring the word "art".
I’ve seen this artist listed on a couple of reaction channels but this is my first time listening to this! Brilliant! Gave me goosebumps. The first thing I thought was that so many people go through this kind of thing and so many artists for sure go through something like this. This guy is the first artist I know of to actually address it so truthfully like this. Wow!
Masterpiece was everything I said, and that ending outtake proved it is probably one of the best ‘music?’. Just well done and greatly portrayed!. Never heard of him but definitely going to look him up now. Great choice on a video selection to review with us!! Got my attention.
🙏🙏🙏 my brother lost his battle but I fight on for him and all the others. Thank you for an incredible reaction and introduction to Ren. Big Hello from NYC 👍
Loved the reaction! Ren is great at so many things. Blind eyed with Sam Thompkins is a fun song they did. Ren and Eden are a really good time in Humble as well.
This song helps us reflect upon those emotional "demons" or parasites, which can try to kill our creativity, our very souls. I am in my 60s and have just come to realize how emotionally "contracted" I've been to these negative energy thoughts. They're not mine, unless I choose, freely, to accept their contracts. Amazing song. So true!!!!
I’ve listened to this song easily over a 100 times now already. And it still blows me away every time. And has literally brought me to tears a few times. He just puts it all into words, which I can literally never do. I don’t think I’d actually have to say much if I met him. He’s just amazing :))
Can confirm, had chlamydia then subscribed, chlamydia is now gone.
😂👍
LOL
Lmao!
Will let you know the results after my next trip to the local strip club
Never had chlamydia, subbed to keep it that way. Because SCIENCE.
The best thing about this song is hearing it for the first time. The next best thing is watching others hear it for the first time.
I don’t get it.. the guitar wasn’t appealing to me and the singing/rap.. gets a bit annoying pretty quick. I get it. He’s crazy.

The first time I heard it I cried and immediately called my brother who has been ill for 30 of his 50 yrs. He said he has never heard a more authentic song in his life. He said it made him realize that there are others out there as bad off as he is. He now listens to this song as therapeutic.
Janina; same. Difficult to identify what happens internally while listening to Ren, I definitely find my sense of being soothed emerges
❤❤
The end of this video is better help than most therapists we've had in our life...
I cried for an hour. Then I contacted a therapist. Enough of this victim stuff....I'm now a student. I love REwatching now, to catch all the subtleties; and I love watching reactions from therapists, guitarists, cinematographers, voice coaches, etc.

Same here man. It's a day at a time.
Everything will be all right, man. Both of you hang in there. God bless!
"Shouldn't depressed people just cheer up a bit?" Ryan Long 2022
Hi William Jesus is there for you. Humble yourself. Be man enough to acknowledge that you need God's help.
I claimed depression as well. I called it 'my blackness'. When I stopped claiming it - it went away because I trusted in Jesus
The fact you are still here, still waking up and putting on the brave face...you are strong. It feels like you aren't, I get it. Don't give up, mate.
👆Dm me on Telegram with the above username I got a surprise for you 🎁💻🎮🎉
That's a great line in song full of great lines.
"You should be so lucky to have me inside you. Remind you to manage expectations provide you perspective"
To me that's the most powerful line that I catch myself thinking all the time. Most times these thoughts make so much sense and that's what makes them dangerous.
YES!! Especially LOVE that entire last verse!!!!
Omg yes. I know it’s coming eland my eyes start stinging every time.
It's shit
I got a rare neurological autoimmune disease 7 years ago called CIDP...I know that struggle
Scleroderma is a rough one. I have Crohn's.
my grandmother had scleroderma. I have dealt with a chronic autoimmune illness for the last 30 years. yes this is a beautiful piece of art

it's not a music video, it's a theatrical work of art as a window to his inner being. Fucking amazing.
@Mr_AlexHefnerTV I got your surprise.. Kappa..
Exactly, stop calling it music though
😆
Literally.
@@AgentLemmon It is buddy.
Met Ren when we were both in Germany for Lyme disease treatment, great guy. I really enjoy seeing him do so well and making the world a better place by telling his story
I didnt know Lyme disease attacked your Myelin sheath. That's a symptom on multiple sclerosis, he might want to get checked for that
@@denverbasshead Did you know Gluten intolerance does too and low B12
I love how mid comment after the breakdown you were in the middle of talking, and he came back and you just kind of stopped talking. It shows the power of this song/performance. Loved watching your reaction to this
I've not seen anyone more original or talented than this young man. Words fail me.
As someone who struggles, daily, with those hyper-critical voices, this has made me cry and shout for joy at the same time. bless this young man xxx
Hi Ren
Hi Ren ❤️ You are loved just as much as everyone else here, just as much as everyone who needs it and deserves it
Hi, Ren 😊
The poetic expression of his internal conflict hits. It’s beautiful, thoughtful and demonstrates a deep understanding of self.
There are no words to describe how powerful this song is. Thank you for reacting my friend. Much love from Texas
Ren is a prodigy and I think he's just getting started
same, The tales of jenny and screech (FULL) version is more amazing than this somehow
Masterpiece? Really? 😂
To be fair he only had to write half of the lyrics
@@mattball420 under rated.
This is an absolute masterpiece. Ren is truly amazing.
I absolutely agree.
Tom Macdonald
I was thinking he could be an orator. Genius, as you say, I agree.
His rapping is incredible, but so is his singing. Chalk Outlines being one example.
@Teresa S i shot the sheriff/zion/hip hip another. :) have you heard hold on?
The Hunger is insane.
I've said this before, but there is a turn in the music scene right now that only happens every 10 years or so. Ren, Sleep Token, Dayseeker, Lorna Shore. These artists are changing the landscape of music right now. This is an exciting time.
@Mr_AlexhefnerTV YOU SIR ARE A LIAR!!! REPORTED!!!
I've been on a Ren binge for weeks. Thanks for listing other artists for me to check out.
Hyperbole much?
Sleep token is so good
@@Samurai_Stoner yeah I only agree with 2/4 ! And Ren is definitely not one of them ! IMO
Never heard this song. So glad I heard it thru you 1st. Mind = officially blown. This song made me cry. This video made me subscribe.
I miss the highs
Stay strong
Me too. It was like he was reading my mind
🙏💕
respect for anyone that can put themselves out there like that. the courage is immense.
the creativity of this piece is amazing .. wow .. its not really a song like you said . its artwork and relaying of a powerful messege in a powerful way .. truely amazing and brilliant ..
I have watched maybe 50 Reaction Videos, professional Musicians, Therapists, Psychologists, Nurses or just random people talking about "Hi Ren",
how much it impressed, moved them, blew their minds. This is something VERY special and unique. And still, after watching it so many times,
i always get goosebumps and tears. Never before in my 55 years of existing ( can´t call it living anymore because of the Depression ) have i been moved so much, have i felt something so intense after hearing a song and lyrics such as in this piece of Art created by Ren.
This is not only a song, this is not only lyrics by a fine and very talented wordsmith ( someone called his style "Bardcore" ),
this is an experience i will never forget.
I just want to say, that you are loved. I've been where you are now, and believe me- the light comes back. Sending virtual hugs 🙌🏻
"can´t call it living anymore because of the Depression" I hear you bro. Been there again and again. I think I made a peace with myself, knowing that it will never disapear and trying to enjoy the life when I'm not down. But I feel so exhausted, doomed to strive every single day...
Your words made me well up. X😔
Ren is the seratonin and dopamine that the world needs RN. ❤🌹 and in turn he needs us to send him positivity to get through this tough time. X
Wow. Bardcore. Sounds just right.
this has become my anthem for life, the inspiration on being able to enjoy life and manage the demons. not only does it represent mental health but it also represents people who dealing with and live with chronic illnesses. love ur reaction
@Mr_AlexhefnerTV would love to but i dont have Telegram. i only use facebook and discord and twitch sorry
Ren is a generational talent, his abilities are just astounding
You nailed it by saying this is what’s needed. This truly is a masterpiece.
Jenny’s tale
Screeches tale
Violets tale
A true work of art
Was about to comment this 😂
Ren is truly amazing and I can't wait to hear more from him
Alex I had to come back and re-watch this reaction. Apparently I did follow you back in the day I didn't realize. I thought you looked familiar way back when when I found your Movie channel and it's probably because of your music reactions! This is by far my favorite reaction from you. Very authentic

Such precise and concise descriptors of the human struggle

it unclogged me from a few years of numbness
I have been waiting to see this particular reaction from you. I love and respect the way you listened intently and gave it the honest reaction from you in every way. This gentleman is a movement. He’s providing a message to the masses through his personal turmoil and love for the art.
Thank you sincerely for your reaction, my friend.
Peace and love to you all!🫵🏼👊🏼👌🏼
This is just scratching his surface. Every song he does is absolutely phenomenal. You will strongly feel every emotion known (and perhaps new ones) while exploring his music.
every song has a message. Check out The Big Push, also brilliant
I just barely found his music yesterday. This is why I love people like you. Bringing music to the masses. Couldn't love it enough.

@KatSnow not my normal cup of tea i thought.. turns out absolutely my cup. I loved EVERYTHING about him. Could not agree more
You said some honest and beautiful words at the end .
Absolutely briliant reaction.
What a wonderful artist
You are going to go down a rabbit hole of emotion and masterful story telling if you continue to check out Ren! The man is a story telling God! Check out the trilogy ( Jennys tale then screeches tale then violets tale) I promise you won't regret it, you'll feel the emotion and the journey all 3 of them have been on like you're reading a 5 minute book! Absolutely no one else like Ren out there dude
Violets tale is absolutely insane
Art is THE word for this. The performance/emotion that comes through here is next level.
I have watched this so many times now and it still hits so hard
This guy is on another level…He is GENIUS!!! I hope someone finds his talent and harnesses it. LOVE and RESPECT to Ren ❤
Ren...
Brain-slapped. Great description of watching it for the first time.
Check out “The Hunger,” “Genesis,” “What You Want,” “Losing it (FISHER rap retake),” “Right here, right now (Fatboy Slim one shot retake),” "Life is Funny," “Love Music (Parts 1, 2, and 3),” “Crucify Your Culture,” “Power,” and his latest release, “Bittersweet symphony (The Verve retake).”
As I recently discovered, Ren also recorded a cover of “Can't Help Falling In Love (Elvis Cover),” that is simply beautiful.

Never heard this song before but it resonates and your reaction to it is very appropriate and I love it. thank you very much
I agree with the idea that this took courage to show his vulnerability. I think it’s why this video has resonated with so many. I’m a 54 year old woman and I can relate. REN is really struggling in Canada recovering from his recent surgery. I wish him all the best. ❤️
Wow. This song hit different bro! Wow… it says everything he’s been through with his condition. This is incredible ❤
Wow! HI Ren, is so powerful & heart wrenching! Great reaction Alex!
It's definitely exhausting! It makes you feel hopeless, and all you want to do is escape. It's so comforting to know that you're not alone and that you're not crazy! Just like this song says, there is hope! There is always hope!
You nailed it man! Anytime music makes the hair on my arms stand up….it’s hitting deep!
@Mr_AlexhefnerTV This scam is SO old. I can’t people still fall for this. Seriously! Come on man!
He's also in a busking band The Big Push.. for rock unbelievable talent for more rap try his track The Hunger
That was beautiful, sad, lost, found, confused, full, very to the point.
I LOVE THIS SONG
I hope to see you react to more Ren in the future! He's so incredibly talented, and there's nothing he can't do.
This song is a spiritual journey of what each one of us strolls through in life. Well done Ren.
I always thought I was the only one with voices like that in my head. It was amazing to hear him put it into a song. I'm glad I found it and heard it.
I'm so glad you finally got to see this. I have been hoping to see this reaction. I love that you see it for what it is. Ren is awesome, I've been obsessed for a couple weeks now. If you want to see his rapping skills at work check out Hunger, it's nuts!!
44 years old, in my whole life, ive never been more moved by a song, profound and brilliant.
Never heard this song or this artist. I came because of your title. I stayed because I was mesmerized. I now go in search of more of his music. This was just brilliant. Keeping track of each persona, playing the intense music. Wonderfully talented. Thankyou and thank him.
Yes it is a masterpiece and a piece of art!
Loved your reaction to this. Thank you .., peace & love xo
You pegged it; this is a masterpiece and it's a work of art. Great reaction!
Love the human connection in the end when ren puts down the guitarand speaks so intimate.
