Very cool and helpful video! I always wanted to play Minchiate, ever since I first came across it. Hopefully this video will revive some interest in this fascinating but sadly extinct game.
It's nice seeing people are trying to revive the Minchiate. I would pay gold for a deck if it were commercialized. But it kept bugging me that you pronounce it versicóla, it's versìcola 🙏
Thanks for the correction, I'll try and pronounce it correctly in future videos :) Regarding the deck, there's this one coming out soon, you might be able to get a copy: www.kickstarter.com/projects/minchiate/tarot-minchiate-full-colors-and-golden-details Otherwise, you can get reproductions of the old 1860 deck like the one we used in this video. I'll have another playthrough of a different hand later this week!
Hi, I don't know where you live but I got my Minchiate (2 of them, at a really convenient price 10 euro and 15🤔 euro I believe through a second hand app in my country called Wallapop. It operates in Spain, Italy and Portugal only. My decks were new , in plastic wrapper BUT the Al Leone is a vintage edition by Fournier (a facsimile, not very nice quality if you intend to use it) the other Minchiate is a LoScarabeo BUT the Spanish edition/version through Orbis/Fabbri, the cards are narrow but it shuffles beautifully and the colours are nice. This collection of LoScarabeo decks reissued for the Spanish market is vintage, but there are many decks circulating.
i managed to get my hand on minchiate deck without knowing, for like 15$ in my local esoteric shop. Imagine my shock when i discovered what it really was
Amazing, thanks for this! I'm still watching it, but one comment about the versicola of thirteen. We've discussed this on one of the game sessions, but perhaps you were not on that specific one: the 28 is the 13th card from the top, counting backwards from the "40", trombone.
Also the versicola of the tens: unlike any 3 from the 4 kings, these ones have to be in sequence to score. This means that the XX and XXX are versicola killers, if any of those get captured by a team, the other team cannot have a versicola of tens.
Ah, I see - I misinterpreted that from the Pagat.com rules, but that makes sense, as the Pagat rules did note that the XX and XXX are "jealous cards", without which you can't make the versicola.
Thanks! This is definitely one where the rules make more sense on the table than they do in writing. Once you're playing it, it's not too complicated as long as you have the map for the versicole while you're learning!
yes certainly! I wrote all the rules out after my custom printed minchiate cards arrived at my house, but it was all too much to remember without having anyone to actually play the game with. I will definitely try again though!@@learntarotcardgames54

The rules are absolutely insane

Oh, of course! Maybe I'll make another video with your clarifications.

Thanks! Good explanation
Lovely! I'd buy this version
i missed ur videos!!
Nice job; I look forward to play it!
Hope you enjoy it!
This reminds me I still have to get a minchiate deck. I expected that the rules would take you longer to explain, but you make it sound easy here.

where was this when I tried to play last year?? great video!
Thanks mate, maybe it's time to try again! ;)
In the works I guess! The footage was recorded last August. ;)
