I'm a SotC fan, and I absolutely adore what a love letter to the game this is while also standing on its own creatively! I wanna play this myself some day!
A shame so many SOTC players spit on this game, just because "its a cheap copy SOTC" or "its not as good". This is a fan game, made by people who LOVE SOTC. It's not meant to be a succesor or be more popular. Show some respect and stop critisizing other peoples work ! I personally thinl the game is quite good, and the idea of incorporating norse mythology is very interesting !
WHAT! HOW COULD THEY! It’s basically factual that anybody who loves shadow of the colossus will always be looking for more content like that and these passionate developers delivered! I can’t believe people would hate on others for giving the community more of what they love. Respect to the developers of the project for dealing with so much stress! Amazing stuff.
sotc is a game very hard to replicate especially the bosses, that basically trying to animate a climbable mountain and it's a lot harder than it looks. Even if this game isn't as SOTC I commend them for trying and I do hope this would encourage more people to try and make a like SOTC.
Even tho that This game is obviously took inspiration from "The shadow of the colossus", it's still fine looking game... I like the designs of some bosses, like the 1st one with a hole at lower chest... 7/10 game
I really dig the hookshot and the parachute, really makes the gameplay flow much nicer than in SOTC, which was more punishing - then again, it might have been intentional to not give any special tools to Wander so as to uplift the climbing mechanics, which were top-notch at the time. Maybe also to make him look weaker than the Colossi and increase the sense of power disparity and achievement. The presence of murals showing you what to do is also genius and immersive, a worthy alternative to having Dormin whispering in your ear. The clear SOTC inspiration doesn't reduce this game's merit imo (many franchises have thrived this way), and I think it could be worth a play even if just to see a spin on what should definitely be a genre of its own.
It makes sense for a game with norse mythology to send a valkyrie to clean up false gods. The game was made as a love letter to the SOTC but calling it ¨worse¨ is execisive.
So, stop begin a jerk. this game is freaking awesome. There nothing "worse" in this game. Respect the developers work, what they accomplish is outstanding
