My favorite is by far Pelagia. That weird crown structure makes me wonder if he lost part of his head, what exactly is it, why does it seem to be sensitive, why is it glowing, etc. I love the skinny hooves it has, he seems to be specially designed to be half-submerged all the time, unable to resist its own weight for long in the surface. The back of Pelagia is covered in green seaweed, which makes me believe he spends most of its time underwater. However, not in the same manner Hydrus does. See, there are two types of colossus, the type that wander around enjoying life (Avion, Valus, Hydrus) and those stationary that have zero movement before being faced (Kuromori, Quadratus, Gaius), the seaweed in Pelagia makes me believe unless he's fighting, he's always underwater, getting seaweed over the years, completely frozen. Is big, is hidden, is quiet, he completely embodies the looks and characteristics of an ancient giant monster. It's also scary how se never get to see him completely, his stone legs are somewhere down there actually touching the deep surface of the lake, at an unknown depth, thinking of such a deep point underwater is scary as hell for me
Disagree with you about Malus, sure he attacks you on sight, but even Quadratus does that, one moment in particular of the game briefly shows him to be an extremely passive collosus when, after you've stabbed him multiple times to reach his hand, he holds you up and looks at you curiously in his hand, making no effort to harm you and his eyes even turn from aggressive orange to passive blue, he showed some extreme mercy there
Bizz first I like your disagree with me choseing Malus but I agree with you on quadratus I like that colossus too but I will not disagree with Quadratus because quadratus is a amazing bull colossus and when did you post this
Also, Phaedra seems to be in an almost meditative stance when you come across it. Meanwhile Phalanx is all flying around happy and shit, like, "Oh, boy, I just love being alive! What a beautiful day!' (que Wander the murderer...)
Thats whats amazing about Phalanx the fact that this Colossus has no means of attack, but can still be at the top of a lot of peoples best colossus list. Just shows how much power the sight of Phalanx truly is
Why do you assume it's a guy? Those aren't sacks they are sacs. Maybe they have a double use as not only holding air, but also eggs. Never assume someone's gender.
Okay, I am currently playing the remake and its the first time I've played this game. I've got to be honest, I don't know why but this game scares the hell out of me and I always feel a sense of pure dread whenever I fight a colossus. Just the fact that this game managed to make me feel fear through creatures that don't even speak! 8 colossi down, 8 to go. Wish me luck!
Play the the original on the PS2 for the real experience. I also think it’s a little better, but I haven’t played the remake, but I like the sense of the original. Love it so much. Still, scary as shit, especially dying to Dirge.. **shiver**
Cenobia is my favourite and far the most aggressive out of the colossi, he is on your case constantly throughout the battle and he can stun-lock you to death with its rampage. Malus, on the other hand, is indeed an aggressive colossus but I witnessed a moment of respite from him. Now, I do not know if this was a glitch or if it was intentionally put in the game. But when I jumped on to his second hand instead of him shaking me off, he raised his hand and started to inspect me. His eyes turned from Red to Green, and he did not attack me anymore. I thought this moment was weird. Nevertheless, he started attacking me after I shot an arrow to his shoulder. I do not know if anyone experienced this with Malus?
Today im gonna record a video just responding to how well this video did and Im gonna be replying to your comments through the video, so come back for that, gonna try to get it out tomorrow!!
Favourite: Phalanx. It's peaceful as all hell, but it's a grand spectical of a fight. Shame the colossus before and after it suck. I don't hate any of them, but some really do suck.
I dont hate any Colossi either, I rank them on how their fight is. Pelagia is high for me on the design of the colossus, but im not a fan of that fight. Thanks for watching and commenting hope you subbed? Many want a new list and im asking what the preference would be, got any ideas on what you would like to see?
Well if we're going by fear factor. I THINK DIRGE SCARES THE SHIT OUT OF ME. It's just those eyes his eyes are so unforgettable like it stares into your soul and chases u down in a tight spaced area.
Ahhh I remember Dirge. Yeah he scares the crap outta me everytime I fight him. It's one of my least favorite Colossi but I also really hate Basaran. I think they're the two I hate the most and really don't want to fight
Uno Ordoveza OMG SAME. The most horrifying entry for ME was actually Argus. I HAD A HEART ATTACK BC I WASNT PAYING ATTENTION DURING HIS INTRO, THEN I LOOKED AT THE PART HE STARTED LIFTING HIMSELF UP AND ALMOST SCREAMED. But DIRGE. DIRGE WAS SCAAAAAAAAAAARY
Believe it or not my favourite colossus is Valus, yes the first colossi you fight. This fight is just nothing more than a tutorial really but what makes it my favourite is the experience I had when I saw and battled my first colossus. Awesome stuff.
This I can relate too. Valus is the colossus that has the most kills on me then any other Colossus. I was 9 or 10 when I first played this game and I didn't understand anything at all ( i might have even skipped the first cutscene tbh) So when I went into the Valus fight I had no knowledge of the Sigil and when Dormin would give you tips on finding the sigil I would ignore him. I tried to kill Valus by slowly picking away at his health thus him killing me many times until finally I found the Sigil on his head and understood the concept of killing the colossi
I like Valus for the sole reason Valus is the first one we meet. So many emotions went through me when I first seen Valus like " I gotta kill that????? "
I'd say: 1)Phalanx (Doesn't attack)2)Avion (Doesn't attack unless provoked)3)Hydrus (Difficult to get attention of and only had one attack)4)Phaedra (Loses interest easily but does keep pursuing you as long as she knows you're there)5)Pelagia (Pretty passive, need to get attention, but does have an aggressive attack)6)Quadratus (Only really has the stompy attack, but is aggressive in it's attacks)7)Valus (Has a lot of attacks but you do have to get his attention)8)Gaius (He has a sword but getting him to hit you is tough at times)9)Barba (Pursues you constantly and tries to attack but can lose interest)10)Argus (Has a sword, out for blood, but sometimes a little tricky to get his attention and he's slow)11)Basaran (Chases you, shoots you, is aggressive but is held back by how slow he is. Doesn't feel like a threat on Agro)12)Kuromori (The second she knows you're there, she chases, she shoots, persistently and aggressively)13)Malus (The guy sees you and straight up shoots you, and is also super accurate with shots)14)Dirge (Chases you non stop. Okay everyone knows he's aggressive I don't need to justify)15)Celosia (Held off number 1 cause of the fire thing)16)Cenobia (Fuck this guy)
Hahaha Cenobias reason straight up (fuck this guy) definitely different from mind by many spot changes. Thanks for watching and commenting hope you enjoyed it!
SuperSalvadorBros no problem! I did enjoy it, it’s interesting to see someone else’s reasoning for why some are more aggressive than others. Cenobia I just hate tbh XD (the amount of times he’s got me locked into one of those bullshit cycles and got me a game over is far too many lol)
Yeah unlike Celosia where u can get hit into a corner that saves your life, as long as cenobia doesn't hit you in the pit then your most likely screwed
Exactly, and Celosia has a lot more room to recover, since to climb you have to get into one of those alcoves, and even if you're in the desert area, there's a lot of room, whereas Cenobia, climbing areas are out in the open, so if you wanna get back onto his back, you have a high chance of getting hit while climbing. Then you're dead again.
Cenobia is my favorite hands down. It’s a fast paced battle where imo you have to use the most of your environment compared to other Colossi. It’s like an obstacle course. So much fun platforming and evading it’s rams, and strikes.
I like cenobia as well. Also, I believe he is the most aggressive. The stun lock is real!! Lol I don’t use the whole city though. I just do the trick jump on the last tower.
Here's what I think: _1. Phalanx_ Has no means to hurt you other than diving underground and doesn't particularly aggro to you at any point. _2. Avion_ Stays completely docile until you aggro it. _3. Hydrus_ Like Phalanx, it doesn't make an active effort to hurt the player but he does aggro to you and approach you. _4. Quadratus_ Actually tries to attack you but only if you position yourself in a certain manner. _5. Malus_ Here's my biggest disagreement with the list on the video. Malus does try to attack you relentlessly, UNTIL you actually reach him and start climbing him. At that point he ceases all attempts to hurt you and acts more curious than hostile towards the player. _6. Valus_ _7. Gaius_ Valus and Gaius are fairly even. They both instantly aggro to you and try to damage you as long as you're not climbing on them but even then, they're desperate to shake you off. _8. Phaedra_ Will make a beeline for you upon spotting you and even tries to attack you when you break line of sight with it by entering the underground tunnels. Doesn't seem to act out of curiosity like Malus does. _9. Argus_ Has multiple ways to attack Wander and will go so far as to destroy the terrain around him to either halt him or hurt him. _10. Pelagia_ _11. Basaran_ Pelagia and Basaran are another pretty close pair of colossi. They both aggro to you, Basaran maybe slightly more aggressively, and try to attack you if you're in their sight. Pelagia will even destroy the terrain on the course of the battle. But I guess this tips for Basaran thanks to his fairly frequent attack pattern. _12. Kuromori_ _13. Barba_ Both Kuromori and Barba will not let terrain stop them from reaching you and they actually act like they're out to find you. And when they do spot you, they attack very frequently as seen in the video when Barba immediately tries to squash you. _14. Dirge_ Instantly aggroes to the player and won't stop chasing them until you shoot its eye. _15. Celosia_ _16. Cenobia_ Technically the only two colossi against whom you need to seek a shelter of some kind not to get hit by them. As far as I know, only Cenobia can attack so frequently as to stun-lock you, so that tips the list in its favor.
I always say this when it comes with Malus. I think after killing 15 other Colossi and Wander is close to being fully possessed, Malus when he sees you from far away is on "try to kill you mode" but once up close he notices something wrong with you, senses whats inside you and begins to question if Wander is him. idk something i just thought of not too long ago. Also i can see where your coming from with your list except Celosia which I still feel, that fear of fire really brings him down and Pheadra. If Pheadra is gonna be that high from the reason you gave me, atleast Gaius and Valus should be above Pheadra. Especially cuz of "chill" points haha, but other then that yeah I can see where your coming from, from your list. Nice detail quick and to the point
My favorite’s either Dirge or Kuromori. I feel like both of them are pretty under appreciated when it comes to cool colossi. Dirge gives you a really intense fight and manages to be the only colossi I’m actually afraid of, while Kuromori is a cool concept with a neat execution. I feel like they could both use more love!
Dirge has been getting a lot of love in these comments. Many in fact straight up disagree with me on Malus being top and say Dirge should be on top. Dirge is one horrifying if you think about a real life scenario. Kuromori has been getting some love to. Its Hydrus and Pheadra that have been at the bottom of the like list
Malus is not in my opinion the hardest Colossus. Once you get to him he loses interest in you and starts to show Curiosity. A lot of the other Colossi won't shift their aggressiveness no matter what you do to them.
I bring it up in my recent video about Malus. I add in that hey, maybe Malus gets confused with you. You have 15 shadows of the colossus inside of you. It could be Malus from far away looks at you as an enemy, but once you get close up to him he wonders if your actually one of him or not
My favorite colossus is quadratus it's just so awesome looking and even though it's simple it's more enjoyable than some of the others I just wish it wasn't so easy just a little harder
If you look on the channel let me apologize my last video was a week ago, no growth without new vids, this week has been busy but normal uploads 2-3 times a week will go back the way it is. Thank you so much!! btw Quadratus, Cool top pick don't see too many Quadratus fans out there poor Colossi doesn't get as much love as he should. Im greatful you commented and thank you for joining the SUPASIDE of TH-cam!! Hope you enjoy and please give me feed back when you can. This is a small channel so I want to interact with as many subs as I can, if some video ideas litteraly suck, let me know your opinion. Appreciate it! Im never gonna stop, stay along for that road to 1k!!
Play in hard time attack then. Edit: Also try using a controller with drifting problems, sticky buttons etc. Maybe even play while sleep deprived and wearing drunk vision goggles. Seriously if all of that doesn't work you are a gaming god.
My favorite by far is Argus. He is the closest, in my opinion, to a warrior king. Plus, the intro to the fight is awesome. He relentlessly attacks you, and when his sword breaks, he just goes “screw it.” and fights you with his fists. A close second would be Pelagia, since it’s design is so different from the others, as his design features less rock and more coral and brass.
My favorite is Avion as well! The fight is amazing and when you grab on for the first time it’s such an invigorating feeling! Plus it’s visual design and arena is fantastic
My favourite is definitely Avion, just because the fight was so breathtakingly cool the first time you played it, with the thrill of jumping into it as it dove towards you with A Despair-Filled Farewell playing, and then having to climb around a gigantic creature flying at full speed and jump to its wings, only for it to perform an aileron roll when you attack it.
100% Avion was an amazing first encounter and the reasons you stated are sums up why I love Avion thanks for watching and commenting hope you enjoyed the video, sorry reply took so long:/
My favorite is definitely Malus I love almost everything about this fight. Wander just lost his only friend in this land and the only thing standing in the way of bringing his girlfriend back is the final colossus. The rain and the music are perfect with the tone of this fight and I love his design. I also loved climbing him and stabbing him in his weak points to advance. I even fell off on purpose to experience the fight longer.
I love all the colossi in the game, however, I have to say that there are three that have very interesting characteristics that make them stand up from the pack. 1. Gaius is a majestic colossi. It presents power, fearlessness and determination in all his moves. However, during the fight, I feel a sense of enjoyment in his attacks, like he is playing with Wander instead of killing him. Being a sleeping giant, waking up to someone that can entertain his time, and awakened him from his slumber, created an opportunity for him to test its power. 2. Celosia: For me, this colossi is the most aggressive of the bunch, creating an cat and mouse game that is difficult to maneuver if not prepared. However, this colossi brought the central moral dilemma of the game. Do we realy need to kill these creatures? The same fire its responsible to protect is the same thing that put fear into his heart. Seeing his eyes show this fear brought down the reality that these are creatures that feel pain and show emotion, even the feel of dying. Observing this characteristic made me think on all the other colossi and there reactions was based on fear of dying or just survivability of their species. 3. Malus: This colossi is intense. From his enormity, to its bulk, You can feel see why this is the final colossus. Being the most human like, we can assume that it is the most intellectual gifted of all colossi, creating an interesting narrative point for the player. What makes this colossi stand out is his curiosity and knowing that death is inevitable for him, knowing full well it cannot escape it, Literally and figuratively. In the literal sense, his feet are bolted to the ground, restraining his movement, cutting down its choices of escape, if it wanted to. Figuratively, he was able to see all the Pillars of light from across the land, confirming three things, that he was the last colossi in the land, that no one was coming to aid him and that death was coming for him. If you put that into perspective, Malus can be considered the one the most tragic colossus of them all.
My favorite Colossus is Quadratus. I just have good memories with him, I love his design, and he just is a good introduction to fighting alongside Agro.
That is why he is number one on this list. Its amazing how the colossus that does nothing but fly around is the most popular colossus in these comments. Its pretty cool honestly
Today im gonna record a video just responding to how well this video did and Im gonna be replying to your comments through the video, so come back for that, gonna try to get it out tomorrow!!
Phalanx is my favorite, it reminds me of a pacifist which reminds me of myself and others, only using defense and no offense (I'm very bad at explaining) *btw Quadratus' feet are called hooves*
Hydrus, the feeling of something lurking under the surface gives me the creeps, which is why it is my favorite. Also cause water creatures are interesting to me even tho they also creep me out.
Today im gonna record a video just responding to how well this video did and Im gonna be replying to your comments through the video, so come back for that, gonna try to get it out tomorrow!!
If I'd meet Wonder in real life I'd punch him in the face Also my favorite colossus is Malus because he's the first one I really struggled to get close to
Hahahaha true. He is our protagonist and antagonist. Those Colossi did nothing to deserve it. Same here Malus not my favorite, but it was a struggle that first time around
My favourite is Avion. The biggest reason is that the experience of fighting it for the first time is by far the most vivid memory I have of playing this game (followed by getting my ass beat by Celosia). The fight is just so intense and exciting, but it also doesn't even start until you provoke Avion. It literally just sits there and observes you curiously until you shoot it, but when you do it defends itself fiercely. The image of a flying behemoth larger than a blue whale diving at you at full speed and you desperately jumping at its fur, only to be swept off into the air with the wind and rain rushing at you whilst you cling on for dear life as Avion flaps its wings and *A Despair-Filled Farewell* starts playing. It's the most immersed I've ever been in a game; I could almost feel the sensation of hurling through the air at breakneck speeds, the wind furiously blowing water droplets into me, and having the whole world be turned upside down when Avion did its aileron rolls after you attack its wings. Most cinematic fight in video game history IMO. Also, its design is just cool as heck, even when compared to many of the other cool as heck colossi.
That's the goal yo, build the Supaside of TH-cam friend:) Want everyone too have a great day and to have a laugh. I hate that I have been busy lately or then I would be posting Daily!! Thanks for the positive feedback!
two years after that video, and here I am, my favorite colossus is definitely the malus, I love the melancholy and the feeling that battle goes through ...
My favorite is Pelagia, my first play through was watching my dad play this game and he generally was able to figure out most of the things to do but the one thing he could not figure out is how to beat Pelagia and I kept suggesting, maybe it’s on his stomach and eventually he tried it and bam there it was, I was so proud of myself for thinking of something my dad didn’t, and I just generally love the gameplay of Pelagia.
Aye thats awesome yo, I bet that feeling was great! I can barley remember my first playthrough through this game, I was 9 or 10 my first time playing this (im 20 now) . The most distinct memory was me dying to Valus about 7 times before beating him. ( I didn't really pay attention about there being a sigil on the colossus that were weakpointsXD Pelagia was always my least favorites but mostly it was because I could never finish the time attack on him. I always missed the stomach jump and I would rage so much! hahaha so it was always my fault for not getting the jump. Thanks for commenting and great story love that this amazing game has givin you a memory like that!!!
Ayye I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the video! Avion fight was fantastic loved all the tricks you can do on him which made it so much more fun and replayable! If you like Shadow videos and opinions consider subbing if you Haven't. Tomorrow I'm gonna release another list that the Colossus community will enjoy to watch!
My favorite is Pelagia! I always liked the watery scenarios and beasts, and because back in the ps2 days he was the most difficult to find (everytime I got lost in that damn forest hahahahahaha)
Yeah Pelagia was so out of the way, trying to find that colossus did take awhile. I always hated traveling to Cenobia just because he is so far out of the way on the map. Thanks for commenting and watching!!
HEY EVERYONE!!!! First off I'd like to say im glad MOST people liked the video and the video is about to hit 100 likes! I been thinking of doing another COlossus vid. What kind of list should I do that you would like to see? If you want to see it! Thank you so much for all the comments it really means a lot, been getting tons every day and I try to get back to all of you asap
I'm gonna ask more people to see what the majority would like or an idea of what people would like to see thank you so much I definitely will make another!! Hope you subscribed and hit that bell! Really appreciate it!:)
SuperSalvadorBros ooooooo do a most realistic to least realistic colossi vid. Just popped inti my head and i realised that it would be a cool thing to have
I'm around 2 years late but my favorite colossus is argus for the fact that he does everything in his might to end you from smashing the bridges to hitting the walls sending rubble to crush you and even crush you on the platforms 😊
Favorite: Avion Avion is arguably the second most peaceful of all the colossi; it only retaliates after being hit itself. Avion is also arguably the most fastest. He also is very cool and I love him.
Yeah I've had some change in thoughts between Hydrus and Avions positions everything else though is still the same. Avion is the best Colossus for sure!
My favorite is Argus because is a real challenge before the last one. Also, it's arena/city is imposing and the entrance, epic. It fits him very well, love it's design and the intelligent puzzle to get on him. Cool video, and greetings from Argentina
Argentina! Greetings man thanks for watching! I didn't know Argus got so much love im seeing so many comments that are pro Argus. Its the fact that his puzzle is one of the hardest in the game is the reason he gets so much hate! It took me hours haha I won't lie. Btw The video is about to hit 100 likes, should I do another colossi list of something?? Let me know what you would like to see if your with it
SuperSalvadorBros thanks for the responese man! And yea, he's pretty underrated. One sugestion (i don't know if you've already done it), make a "easiest to hardest colossus" video, since a lot of people, including me, wanna hear your opinion
I try to get back on all the comments and I have been raided haha, also I was thinking of doing that but their is enough already on youtube idk if it comes down to it then i definitly will. Just trynna see on more ideas
My favorite colossus is Cenobia, the sounds, the music, the feeling when you think you get away from it by getting to higher ground, then you hear the roaring, you look down, see Cenobia, and then it just knocks the tover down! The feel of danger, that you can't be on the ground for a second, that's what I like in Cenobia, and beacuse it's small, player maybe think it is easy to defeat but it's not that easy.
You know bring up that point with Cenobia. I never really thought about it like. The fact that players can't be on the ground for too long really shows how frightened we are of Cenobia... Dang that's honestly a reason that can bump Cenobia up a spot
Bit late but my favorite colossi is Hydrus because of how amazing it is to be riding on it and running up to its spikes while it tries to protect himself/herself by trying submerge themself so they don’t die running at it in the lake while it tries to protect itself is just amazing to be and the music considering it’s my favorite track in the game it makes it all better love you Hydrus
Barba: i am a true man, I don’t need weapons, all i need is muscles and a beard. Argus: can i be a true man like you? Barba: no weapons are allowed. Argus: why not? Barba: because true man don’t use weapon, remember that kiddo. Argus: WHAT DID YOU SAY? Gaidus: shut up Argus, don’t you see I’m sleeping?Hey Pelagia, why don’t you teach him a lesson? Pelagia: bro , I’m too lazy, hey Basaran, shoot him some of your rock thing. Basaran: first of all, MY BULLET IS NOT ROCKS, second YOU PISSED ME OFF. Hydrus: you guys need to chill , go swimming with me , you guys will feel better. Avion: can I poop in your pool? Hydrus: SO YOU PICK THE DEATH, HUH? Phalanx: dinner is ready. Barba: i turn boy into true man. Valus: plz stop singing that song, i just want to chill. Malus: ...This is goin to hard to clean.
I'll have to say my all time favorite is Phaedra. She just seems so majestic. And the ones that were the most difficult for me on my first play through is Basaran and Kuromori. Kuromori did take me a while to figure out but once I did it was a lot of fun for me. Basaran though I still hate to this day. I had such a hard time figuring him out on my first play through that I stopped playing for at least a month
Hahaha yes Basaran will do that to you. I rage quit many times as well against him. He was truly a pain. Even tho Pheadra is on the bottom of Colossi I don't like fighting just second in front of Pelagia. It's just the fight itself I love how she looks and is way above other Colossi in that term
I don't like calling living things "it" Also all the collossi are different pieces of Dormin and when you hear Dormin speak you can hear female and male voice
pelagia 12? he's pretty peaceful to ky thought; he lets you climb on him, smash his head, and when you're able to able to able to attack his stomach he just stands there... doing nothing. he only attacks at the start and trying to zap you off of a higher point blank
All the colossi are agressive in a way, but like I bring up atleast in my playthroughs Phaedra straight up stops attacking whenever you stop shooting arrows or if you run away to far. I also take into account what they could be thinking. Hydrus is above Phaedra because Hydrus wants you out of the water. The rankings on the list arent bad. All the colossi are peaceful. Quadrattus has a limited move set and is so slow its impossible to die from him, but that fact that he is always chasing you and wants to crush you gets him a spot up on the list.
PC Router FUCK PHAEDRA HE NEVER GETS INTO POSITION AND THATS FRUSTERATING WHEN UR TRYING TO HARD TIME ATTACK HIM!!! he is literally my least fave colossus. Great idea, horribly exicuted. At least make his AI so that when u go in a tunnel, he automatically gets in position!
@@Keithixix Phaedra is not that hard to get in position if you think about what you're doing for over 2 seconds. Once I figured out how to beat him he got in position first try.
My 2 favorite colossus is basaran because I love turtles and malus I like this creature because malus looks more human like then the other colossus in game and everyone have favorite colossus and i'll not judge
SuperSalvadorBros hey some people like gaius don't get me wrong I like gaius but not my taste but it's a good fighter and gaius is some what human like with a rock sword for a hand😃
K Mawnster im srry, fuck basaran, hes just so frusterating. He was my least fave till phaedra decides to BE A LITTLE DOUCHE AND NOT DO ANYTHING YOU WANT HIM TOO!! i like basarans design and concept, hes just to frusterating to fight sometimes.
I'm not sure why, but ever since I was a little kid, I've always adored Kuromori. As a child, when I first played it, I had such difficulty with it. It meant business! It was going to kill you for real, and FAST. And the music... It's terrifying. It sends shivers down your spine. It makes you want to peek around the corner so you aren't seen. "BOOM, BOOM, BOOM" in quick succession, look down, and this mother fucking giant ass lizard is climbing up that wall at you! The sounds he makes even. His design. The arena. The arena is amazing, and one of my favorites. It makes me want to know what happened there, or what it was, etc etc. I love Kuromori. Also, Malus is sitting, locked to the ground on a giant cliff, overlooking the forbidden lands... Watching each beacon rise. Watching his fellow colosisi be slain. That is a painful existence. He shoots at you, obviously, but he clearly hesitates. You can't see his eyes, either... Perhaps not wanting to truly harm you, turning a blind eye, but he must. He needs to protect the final fragment of Dormin within him, and defend himself. You killed his kin. When you reach him, he let's it happen. You stab his back, and he reaches back in pain, moaning. He brings you up, lifts his hand, and just... Looks at you. He could crush you with his humanoid hands. Squeeze you. But he curiously looks at you, like you're fascinating. The music is always somber. It's sad. It's horrible. I could go on and on... It's sad. When stabbing his sigil, he just tries to get you off, because it hurts. He's not aggressive.
Favourite: Basaran, mainly because I love his design and his attack techniques. Overall I love the boss battle and how you need to flip him with the geysers. I also love the environment of which the boss battle takes place in, also the entrance of Basaran because of how detailed the fog is and the water detail of the geysers. Even though most people do not like him for the fact that he sometimes doesn’t get registered by walking under the geysers, but most Colossus have the game bugs too which in my opinion makes him a very unique and interesting boss.
you rank them on how passive or aggresive they are depending on what they are doing before they see wander. Gaius for example, he is sleeping before he sees wander, but that is because he has no reason to stand up, he has no enemies trying to kill him. I think that you should rank the colossi depending on how they react to wander instead of heavily depending on what they are doing prior to meeting wander.
It's always those smaller colossi that are JUST too much, like an untrained and feisty Pomeranian. Great video! Convinced me to get this masterpiece remake.
Quadratus doesn't get enough love either and I don't really know why, what's your reasoning with Quadratus?? Thanks for commenting and watching I hope you enjoyed the video! For 100 likes I'm thinking of doing another list. Any suggestions on what you would like to see??
Honestly, my favourite would probably be Gaius. I feel like he is so underappreciated! He's so big and cool looking, very menacing. Also the only colossi resembling a human walking. I mean just google "Shadow of the colossus wallpaper" and either Phalanx or Gaius will show up. They're the showstoppers in my opinion, and fighting Gaius is amazing. You're so high up as well, you can see everything from the top of his head. He has a special place in my heart :)
Phalanx is definitely my favorite. To me it encompasses everything this game is about, it's this huge, elegant, beautiful thing just existing there, as part of this profound layered world until Wander comes and ruins everything
Avion is my favorite as well, it along with Hydrus, and Phalanx are some of my favorite fights in the game, thank you for putting Kuromori so high, he was a pain to fight.
My Favorite Colossus? Let Me Give You My Top 16 Favorite Colossi In SOTC: 16: Gaius 15: Pelagia 14: Phalanx 13: Kuromori 12: Quadratus 11: Barba 10: Celosia 09: Argus 08: Hydrus 07: Phaedra 06: Malus 05: Valus 04: Cenobia 03: Basaran 02: Dirge 01: Avion Edit: Forgot #7
SuperSalvadorBros Gaius Was Torture In HTA, Phalanx Was A Pain In The Ass To First, Shoot Those Damm Airsacks And Miss 40 Times Over And Over Again, And Then, Have To Jump On HIS Wings And Missing The Jump, And Having To Call Agro Then Continue To Chase Phalanx From 2 Miles Away, Is Tedious
I can relate on Phalanx on the fact that Phalanx time attack was always annoying when you miss the jumps and having to call Agro was a pain, not anymore, but at first it was rage inducing. Thats a new one with Gaius though, but fair points
SuperSalvadorBros, I like Hydrus because I like how when he sees you , he comes to “attack” you and when how he is in “danger” he submerged underwater to get away. I also like how Hydrus looks and that he is a water based colossus . (I find Hydrus unique.)
Favorite one, Basaran. I just love how much room I have to move, and the fact that if you stop moving, you’ll get fried. I always shoot him with arrows while running, I know it’s not necessary, but I feel like I’m driving him mad and it’s easier for me to get him where I want. I also pay a lot of attention to how the voice in the temple describes the next colossus, and his description is one of my favorites too. Something about the colossus awakening, which really sounds intimidating. For that same reason I think Gaius is my second favorite: he is described as a slumbering giant that will make the earth rumble when he awakens. I think that if the player puts himself in Wander’s shoes,he will find that those descriptions are the most intimidating, and the fact that both fights live up to them just makes them the best
My favorite is either Avion or phalanx. Just the thought of 2 massive creatures being able to fly is amazing and the effects of Avion making a wave as he swoops down on you just blew my mind. These are the two most fun fights in my opinion.
Gameplay wise: Argus, I liked the multi-step process of defeating him. Design wise: Dirge. It’s a giant snake with a split lower jaw, it’s awesome! I like how it’s the only colossi who can blink too, adding some cuteness just seeing it take a second to blink as it chases you. I’m glad they replaced the dog whine from the OG with the weird groan because I felt awful when stabbing it prior. If we count the beta: Worm. I really wish this thing made it in, it’s so cool looking with the giant gaping maw and massive coil like body.
Pheadra can be tricky to kill first time but I love Pheadra beacuse it's so pained after stabbing her (yes, I personaly think that Pheadra is a mare) neck.
When it comes to favourite colossi, I'm always stuck between Dirge and Avion. I love Avion's design, because birds are awesome. And it was the first to really suprise me, as all the colossi before had been on the ground, relatively easy to climb onto. I also like how it's one of the more peaceful colossi, and that makes you feel even worse when you defeat it. Dirge, similar to Avion has a cool design, for the same reason, snakes are another epic and interesting animal. Yet, something about his appearance, mainly his eyes and mandible, tend to spark so much fear in me. My heart is racing before I even enter the arena. Travelling across the map, knowing he's the next colossus I'll face. His fight is also so intense. Compared to Avion's, which is over too soon, Dirge's battle can feel like ages. Possibly because I hate being chased in games.
Colossus number four is my favorite. I think I felt the most pity for it while watching videos of people fight it. From there, it grew on me significantly, to the point that I think it’s the most beautiful of the sixteen. (13 is a close second. 8 is very relatable.)
My favorite Colossus is definitely Cenobia. The whole battle isn’t even really much of a battle. It’s a chase. He chases you down, knocking down the stone pillars you’re on. Yes, it’s one of the small, probably car sized ones, and they can be annoying when they knock you down, and you can’t get back up before they combo you 5 times. But Cenobia doesn’t have that problem as bad as Celosia does. I think it’s since you can get up on him (once you get to phase 2) by waiting on one of the knocked down pillars, so it doesn’t happen as much. It’s really fun to jump from pillar to pillar to escape him. This is definitely personal preference, and I’ve seen people hate Cenobia. But I think it’s a very fun and exciting fight Edit: I also love the overall design of Cenobia. Also the sounds he makes are pretty funny to me. It sounds like some type of demonic pit bullies something
rather than saying my favorite colossus, I'll rank all of them (also I've never played the game, and after I do, this opinion may change) 16-Dirge (#SorryNotSorry) 15-Basaran 14-Pelagia 13-Hydrus 12-Kuromori 11-Cenobia 10-Celocia 9-Quadratus 8-Valus 7-Phaedra 6-Barba 5-Argus 4-Malus 3-Avion 2-Gaius 1-Phalanx
I ask for one and you give me all, I think its great you did! The list shouldn't change if your ranking them by just their look. What might change is once you play the game on how fun is the actual fight.
Annoying. small space. simple design. having to use arrows (I'm a horrible aim). The sounds are cool, and is different tho. at some point I'm probably going to make a TH-cam video about it.
I adore the fight with Durge, I love balancing how you run away from him, aim and turn, I heard people hate doing that because it’s clunky, but I never have a problem, and sometimes I purposefully draw out the fight because he’s so fun and his design is badass.
In terms of design, my favorite is Pelagia. While most of the Colossi designs are incredible, Pelagia is unique in that you can't tell what it is. None of the Colossi gave me chills like when I reached its head and saw the teeth: it made me feel like it was it's lower jaw, and it made me terrified to see the rest of its head emerge from the water. It follows the Lovecraft policy: what humans truly fear is the unknown. It's interesting in that it doesn't have eyes: it tracks you by sound/motion, which is why it doesn't fire that often. That being said, it took me literally 50 minutes to beat it. In terms of impact, my favorite is Malus. There's a heavy symbolism to its human appearance: in killing it, Wander kills the last remnant of his humanity. The somber music and rain add to the tragedy of the atmosphere, and really cemented the mood for the game's finale. I didn't find it the most aggressive: as you climbed it, I found it to be almost...curious.
I like Basaran. I like Basaran because during the fight, it shoots fireballs. I also like the fact that you have to tip it over to be able to get on to it. When it tips over, I like the loud boom that happens when you do. I also like the music when it walks out of the dark cave, A Violent Encounter. Those are the reasons that Basaran is my favorite.
My favorites: Avion (5th Colossus) and Cenobia (14th Colossus) Why Avion?: The thrill of fighting Avion while it's flying and flapping it's wings makes it even more exciting. And the song that plays when you grab onto it, A Despair Filled Farewell, is my favorite track in the entire game. Why Cenobia?: Despite being the smallest, one of the fastest, and one of the most vicious colossi in the game, Cenobia has some huge things going for it that. Since Shadow of the Colossus is known as a puzzle and platformer game, the fight with Cenobia really drives that point home when you use both those ideas to expose the sigil on it's back. And my favorite part of A Despair Filled Farewell plays after breaking it's armor.
It's also scary how se never get to see him completely, his stone legs are somewhere down there actually touching the deep surface of the lake, at an unknown depth, thinking of such a deep point underwater is scary as hell for me
Now thats whaat im talking bout, probably best reason so far of why someone loves their colossus. Honestly best comment ever now yo, Nice!
SuperSalvadorBros thanks man, I'm glad you're reading the comments, nice video
Appreciate it but thank you for taking time out your day to even comment
same
my favourite is pelgia too
I hate pelagia
“Little tiny fragile bones”
Dude please, this kid can survive a fall from a 1000 foot drop
Lol
That's what I was thinking XD
I fell of Malus and just half of my life went down, I was lucky till Malus shot his pew pew things and killed me
Hehehe... pew pew
Wait I always wanted to ask this question
Disagree with you about Malus, sure he attacks you on sight, but even Quadratus does that, one moment in particular of the game briefly shows him to be an extremely passive collosus when, after you've stabbed him multiple times to reach his hand, he holds you up and looks at you curiously in his hand, making no effort to harm you and his eyes even turn from aggressive orange to passive blue, he showed some extreme mercy there
You make a great point who would you say is the most aggressive colossi then?
Bizz first I like your disagree with me choseing Malus but I agree with you on quadratus I like that colossus too but I will not disagree with Quadratus because quadratus is a amazing bull colossus and when did you post this
Bizz Cuz what hope would u have against him if he just squats you everytime you get on his hand? U physically WOULDNT be able to win.
Most aggressive, to me, is between Cenobia, Dirge, and Basaran, they attack relentlessly and never let up, their eyes are seldom blue
Bizz I AGREE
The colossi made me feel. Felt sad, scared, pity, anger, awe, and all from beings with no dialog
Yeah they had so much character. The game doesn't tell you what it is, but through experiencing them you find out
Wonderfully said
Also, Phaedra seems to be in an almost meditative stance when you come across it.
Meanwhile Phalanx is all flying around happy and shit, like, "Oh, boy, I just love being alive! What a beautiful day!' (que Wander the murderer...)
TwoCentReview Yup! He Is So Happy!
Phalanx was actually underground before you fought him, remember his intro?
My favorite is Phalanx, He is so gigantic and majestic when he flies out from the sand
Thats whats amazing about Phalanx the fact that this Colossus has no means of attack, but can still be at the top of a lot of peoples best colossus list. Just shows how much power the sight of Phalanx truly is
He's also my fave. I love how you ride agro beside him to leap on him then fly through the air
Oh boy you are in for a hell of a journey
Swaraaj Chadha Hope you do well
I get most scared of the ones life dirge and barbarism because I feel so exposed.
Are you done?
The-PhD-gamer It’s scripted to be like yhat
What do you mean by far he hits the pillar once and you have to get him to hit it a second time
The game lets you sit there so that you can shoot his shoulder and climb on to his neck 😉
Many want a new list and im asking what the preference would be, got any ideas on what you would like to see?
lewis young like phaedra and basaran. Just cuz their SO FUCKING FRUSTERATING
*cough *cough Argus *cough *cough
Hey pelagia doesnt suck
Well if we're going by fear factor. I THINK DIRGE SCARES THE SHIT OUT OF ME. It's just those eyes his eyes are so unforgettable like it stares into your soul and chases u down in a tight spaced area.
True Dirge is terrifying if you think about it
Yeah, first time i got to much scared, i almost scream
Ahhh I remember Dirge. Yeah he scares the crap outta me everytime I fight him. It's one of my least favorite Colossi but I also really hate Basaran. I think they're the two I hate the most and really don't want to fight
Salva Games This grimmer does the exact same thing to me
Uno Ordoveza OMG SAME.
Yeah, its just such a memorable experience.
TomDeBomb101 i never really liked valus that much :/
I like Valus for the sole reason Valus is the first one we meet. So many emotions went through me when I first seen Valus like " I gotta kill that????? "
Exactly it's not so much the challenge of the fight it's the emotions which ran through my head.
I'd say:
1)Phalanx (Doesn't attack)2)Avion (Doesn't attack unless provoked)3)Hydrus (Difficult to get attention of and only had one attack)4)Phaedra (Loses interest easily but does keep pursuing you as long as she knows you're there)5)Pelagia (Pretty passive, need to get attention, but does have an aggressive attack)6)Quadratus (Only really has the stompy attack, but is aggressive in it's attacks)7)Valus (Has a lot of attacks but you do have to get his attention)8)Gaius (He has a sword but getting him to hit you is tough at times)9)Barba (Pursues you constantly and tries to attack but can lose interest)10)Argus (Has a sword, out for blood, but sometimes a little tricky to get his attention and he's slow)11)Basaran (Chases you, shoots you, is aggressive but is held back by how slow he is.
Also Avion is my favourite
Glad to see someone shares my opinion, I have the feeling not enough people love this colossu!
I like cenobia as well. Also, I believe he is the most aggressive. The stun lock is real!! Lol I don’t use the whole city though. I just do the trick jump on the last tower.
Here's what I think:
_1. Phalanx_
Has no means to hurt you other than diving underground and doesn't particularly aggro to you at any point.
_2. Avion_
Stays completely docile until you aggro it.
_3. Hydrus_
Like Phalanx, it doesn't make an active effort to hurt the player but he does aggro to you and approach you.
_4. Quadratus_
Actually tries to attack you but only if you position yourself in a certain manner.
_5. Malus_
Here's my biggest disagreement with the list on the video. Malus does try to attack you relentlessly, UNTIL you actually reach him and start climbing him. At that point he ceases all attempts to hurt you and acts more curious than hostile towards the player.
_6. Valus_
_7. Gaius_
Valus and Gaius are fairly even. They both instantly aggro to you and try to damage you as long as you're not climbing on them but even then, they're desperate to shake you off.
_8. Phaedra_
Will make a beeline for you upon spotting you and even tries to attack you when you break line of sight with it by entering the underground tunnels. Doesn't seem to act out of curiosity like Malus does.
_9. Argus_
Has multiple ways to attack Wander and will go so far as to destroy the terrain around him to either halt him or hurt him.
_10. Pelagia_
_11. Basaran_
Pelagia and Basaran are another pretty close pair of colossi. They both aggro to you, Basaran maybe slightly more aggressively, and try to attack you if you're in their sight. Pelagia will even destroy the terrain on the course of the battle. But I guess this tips for Basaran thanks to his fairly frequent attack pattern.
_12. Kuromori_
_13. Barba_
Both Kuromori and Barba will not let terrain stop them from reaching you and they actually act like they're out to find you. And when they do spot you, they attack very frequently as seen in the video when Barba immediately tries to squash you.
_14. Dirge_
Instantly aggroes to the player and won't stop chasing them until you shoot its eye.
_15. Celosia_
_16. Cenobia_
Technically the only two colossi against whom you need to seek a shelter of some kind not to get hit by them.
LizarDragon honestly, kuromori is probably my 2nd favorite
Same I kept trying to attack Kuromori head on so I got killed so many times
Malus is not in my opinion the hardest Colossus. Once you get to him he loses interest in you and starts to show Curiosity. A lot of the other Colossi won't shift their aggressiveness no matter what you do to them.
I bring it up in my recent video about Malus. I add in that hey, maybe Malus gets confused with you. You have 15 shadows of the colossus inside of you. It could be Malus from far away looks at you as an enemy, but once you get close up to him he wonders if your actually one of him or not
SuperSalvadorBros Now that's a good theory
I hate Malus, I fell of him like 15 times, not his fault but still rage inducing
He’s too good for you. He is confident he won’t be defeated to the point he shows interest to how you plan to take him down.
celosia harder then malus
Phalanx, is my favorite.
Thanks for commenting!!
It is a huge honor.😥😌😲
Why everyone loves phalanx
@@oliv1192 look at this link that my favorite colossi(argus)gave to your
th-cam.com/video/dQw4w9WgXcQ/w-d-xo.html
My favorite colossus is quadratus it's just so awesome looking and even though it's simple it's more enjoyable than some of the others I just wish it wasn't so easy just a little harder
I also subscribed you deserve more subs 👀
Im never gonna stop, stay along for that road to 1k!!
same
Play in hard time attack then.
Edit: Also try using a controller with drifting problems, sticky buttons etc. Maybe even play while sleep deprived and wearing drunk vision goggles. Seriously if all of that doesn't work you are a gaming god.
honestly i say malus should be below dirge and bassaran.
Some people have brought up the same thing because of the fact that he looks at you while on his hand, but I stand by Malus being up top
In ps4 he's always violent with orange eyes, and that really pissed me off. Malus used to be pretty passive, but now seems like a mindless killer.
Man Dirge is my least favorite one
My favorite by far is Argus. He is the closest, in my opinion, to a warrior king. Plus, the intro to the fight is awesome. He relentlessly attacks you, and when his sword breaks, he just goes “screw it.” and fights you with his fists. A close second would be Pelagia, since it’s design is so different from the others, as his design features less rock and more coral and brass.
Yay i love you in will be your best friend now argus is the best i could kill that monster by fall damage
best colossus huh...PHALANX BOIIII
I thought Gauis was fan favorite... Let me revert that. Phalanx is taking over!
I forget to tell you why phalanx is my favorite because it is a beautiful beast and it's less than a fight and more of an experience
Ultimate death in Phalanx fight player can train his/her Agro riding skills, they can be useful on Time attack.
In my opinion.......argus is better
My favorite is Avion as well! The fight is amazing and when you grab on for the first time it’s such an invigorating feeling! Plus it’s visual design and arena is fantastic
My favourite is definitely Avion, just because the fight was so breathtakingly cool the first time you played it, with the thrill of jumping into it as it dove towards you with A Despair-Filled Farewell playing, and then having to climb around a gigantic creature flying at full speed and jump to its wings, only for it to perform an aileron roll when you attack it.
100% Avion was an amazing first encounter and the reasons you stated are sums up why I love Avion thanks for watching and commenting hope you enjoyed the video, sorry reply took so long:/
The music from avions battle is my favorite music
My favorite is definitely Malus
I love almost everything about this fight.
My fav collusus is Gaius because he looks like a knight..
A knight that was just trynna sleep:(, but thats why Gaius is on the cover of everything
He is a knight
I know this cuz the trophy u get when u kill him is called "wake the *KNIGHT*"
I seen it too, literally doesn´t allow anyone to say Gaius is not a Knight.
I thought he looked like a chicken because of his mouth :P
hahaha I always looked it as a duck mouth
Thanks for commenting!! I always liked Quad because u can super jump while ur on his back. It was always fun
My favorite is Malus
When you start to climb him, he stops attacking you and just watch you, probably thinking "Why are you doing this?"
I really liked phalanx because hes entirely peaceful for being the largest of the colossi, and he flies
That is why he is number one on this list. Its amazing how the colossus that does nothing but fly around is the most popular colossus in these comments. Its pretty cool honestly
SuperSalvadorBros giant flying things are just the way to win peoples hearts, especially if their passive
Nivada Stars same
Nivada Stars They don't have gender....they're giant stone golems for fucks sake!
I'll never get over how Malus just looks at you when you're on his hand... Like a small child with a ladybug
avion should definitely be before hydrus, as hydrus attacks and avion will only dive at you when an arrow is shot at it.
Today im gonna record a video just responding to how well this video did and Im gonna be replying to your comments through the video, so come back for that, gonna try to get it out tomorrow!!
I just realized, three years later, that this was the first video I ever hit the like button on.
SuperSalvadorBros Will do
This may be a unpopular opinion but my favorite colossi is Phaedra
I like Phaedra, but I just don't like the fight. Thanks for commenting btw!
Aeon I like Phaedra too
Mine, too!
Aeon Phaedra has such a good fighting song
Cringe Crime "Creeping shdows" is also in Pelagia.
If I'd meet Wonder in real life I'd punch him in the face
Also my favorite colossus is Malus because he's the first one I really struggled to get close to
Hahahaha true. He is our protagonist and antagonist. Those Colossi did nothing to deserve it. Same here Malus not my favorite, but it was a struggle that first time around
Man i rarely see someone say malus is their favorite
My favourite is the final. I always forget his name so I call him Titan
His name is malus, the biggest of all the upright colossi.
Thank you sa
Salvador you are the most
friendly TH-camr ever met.
*on the PS2
SuperSalvadorBros 👌🏻
Phalanx: What a nice day!
Wander: ALL YOUR AIRBAGS ARE BELONG TO US!!!!!
I agree with the list 100% and Avion is my favorite Colossus also because he looks so cool and the air fight is soooooooo great!!!!
Wander is basically just a dentist to Pelagia. Until Wander murders them.
Pelagia. Hands down. He's got a crazy good entrance, an amazing design, and some of the most clever strategies to beat. I love him.
SuperSalvadorBros you should totally make more shadow of the collosus videos, you could rank them from your least favourite to favourite or something
I'm gonna ask more people to see what the majority would like or an idea of what people would like to see thank you so much I definitely will make another!! Hope you subscribed and hit that bell! Really appreciate it!:)
My favorite colosi is Gaius
SuperSalvadorBros ooooooo do a most realistic to least realistic colossi vid. Just popped inti my head and i realised that it would be a cool thing to have
SuperSalvadorBros lol baout to hit 200 likes now XD
I'm around 2 years late but my favorite colossus is argus for the fact that he does everything in his might to end you from smashing the bridges to hitting the walls sending rubble to crush you and even crush you on the platforms 😊
Favorite: Avion
Avion is arguably the second most peaceful of all the colossi; it only retaliates after being hit itself.
Projekti 999 i like cenobia too
Bit late but my favorite colossi is Hydrus because of how amazing it is to be riding on it and running up to its spikes while it tries to protect himself/herself by trying submerge themself so they don’t die running at it in the lake while it tries to protect itself is just amazing to be and the music considering it’s my favorite track in the game it makes it all better love you Hydrus
my favourite colossi is avion simply cause of the design and the battle
That tail really gives him some style points. Great choice! Thanks for commenting!
Same
Barba: i am a true man, I don’t need weapons, all i need is muscles and a beard.
Celosia and cenobia : well we need therapy
It's just the fight itself I love how she looks and is way above other Colossi in that term
hannahtaz97 Uhmm....the colossi don't have gender...
Acituanbus:GLaDOS eddition So?
I don't like calling living things "it" Also all the collossi are different pieces of Dormin and when you hear Dormin speak you can hear female and male voice
SuperSalvadorBros Thats right....but the colossi aren't really alive and don't have any gender....
I understand Gaius' anger. My man was straight chillin, enjoying a nap when some tiny pesky creature decides to come and fuck his day up.
Phalanx is my favorite, due to her being so big.
Thanks for commenting I replied to your comment in todays video that i will be trying to post later today!
So you like em thick?
pelagia 12? he's pretty peaceful to ky thought; he lets you climb on him, smash his head, and when you're able to able to able to attack his stomach he just stands there... doing nothing. he only attacks at the start and trying to zap you off of a higher point blank
I dont understand why phaedra is number 2, it literally stomps the ground multiple times when he is trying to find you
All the colossi are agressive in a way, but like I bring up atleast in my playthroughs Phaedra straight up stops attacking whenever you stop shooting arrows or if you run away to far.
I love how you think of how the colossals is feeling during the fights.
This list wouldn't be possible to make if all the colossi acted alike! Thanks for watching!
My 2 favorite colossus is basaran because I love turtles and malus I like this creature because malus looks more human like then the other colossus in game and everyone have favorite colossus and i'll not judge
Yeah no one can all like 1 colossus the same as another. I thought everyone liked Gauis but a commenter proved me wrong with that
SuperSalvadorBros hey some people like gaius don't get me wrong I like gaius but not my taste but it's a good fighter and gaius is some what human like with a rock sword for a hand😃
Keithixix 197 I respect your opinion on basaran & phaedra and some other people don't like it either just saying
He's not aggressive.
my fave is Phalanx
Thanks for commenting sorry for late response
Favourite: Basaran, mainly because I love his design and his attack techniques. Overall I love the boss battle and how you need to flip him with the geysers.
I also love the environment of which the boss battle takes place in, also the entrance of Basaran because of how detailed the fog is and the water detail of the geysers. Even though most people do not like him for the fact that he sometimes doesn’t get registered by walking under the geysers, but most Colossus have the game bugs too which in my opinion makes him a very unique and interesting boss.
My favourite Colossi is Avion, back on my first experience with this game I was shocked when I saw that sick opening cut scene
Same yo, the first thought being. How do I get on that!?
My favorite is the one that would just say “The sky. Is. BEAUTIFUL.” and then get brutally stabbed in the back by the world’s most deadly mosquito.
My favorite, or the one that satisfied me the most after killing it, has to go to Malus
Thanks for commenting hope you enjoyed the video?? Why was he so satisfying to kill then any other colossi?
SuperSalvadorBros cuz it's the final one and so annoying
SuperSalvadorBros when I was doing my first play through I was going in blind and he took my about a hour to kill
True, my first play through it took me a long time to even get close to Malus
you rank them on how passive or aggresive they are depending on what they are doing before they see wander. Gaius for example, he is sleeping before he sees wander, but that is because he has no reason to stand up, he has no enemies trying to kill him. I think that you should rank the colossi depending on how they react to wander instead of heavily depending on what they are doing prior to meeting wander.
Phalanx #1
Phalanx could honestly start a fan club on how popular that colossus is
malus is like sans hes tryna get revenge for his fallen friends
I love avion too
Ayyyyyyeeee #TeamAvion!! Thanks for commenting!!!
no problem
It's always those smaller colossi that are JUST too much, like an untrained and feisty Pomeranian.
Great video! Convinced me to get this masterpiece remake.
Thanks. A lot! Glad I could do that for you! This game is too good to pass up
My favorites are gaius, and quadratus
My favourite is Avion. :)
Thanks for commenting #TeamAvion
@@supersalvadorbros5494 I'd like to submit my membership to team avion
Phalanx is definitely my favorite. To me it encompasses everything this game is about, it's this huge, elegant, beautiful thing just existing there, as part of this profound layered world until Wander comes and ruins everything
Avion is also my favourite
Ayyyyeee that's what I'm talking bout! The best choice! Thanks for commenting!
Same here
Avion is my favorite as well, it along with Hydrus, and Phalanx are some of my favorite fights in the game, thank you for putting Kuromori so high, he was a pain to fight.
All from personal experience hahaha thank you for watching and glad you enjoyed the video

13: Kuromori
12: Quadratus
11: Barba
10: Celosia
09: Argus
08: Hydrus
07: Phaedra
06: Malus
05: Valus
04: Cenobia
03: Basaran
02: Dirge
01: Avion
Edit: Forgot #7
Woooooooooow Gaius is at the bottom?? The most popular Colossi next to Phalanx and he's at your bot?? I have to knoe the reason why!!
Thanks for commenting and watching!! Hope you enjoyed it!
SuperSalvadorBros Gaius Was Torture In HTA, Phalanx Was A Pain In The Ass To First,
Shoot Those Damm Airsacks And Miss 40 Times Over And Over Again, And Then, Have To Jump On HIS Wings And Missing The Jump, And Having To Call Agro Then Continue To Chase Phalanx From 2 Miles Away, Is Tedious
I can relate on Phalanx on the fact that Phalanx time attack was always annoying when you miss the jumps and having to call Agro was a pain, not anymore, but at first it was rage inducing. Thats a new one with Gaius though, but fair points
Yay phalanx is bad wait...... why is kuromori my 2 favorite colossi in a low rating?you sucks
I love Basaran because his fight incorporates almost every game mechanic introduced and i love it. Hes also really fun and cinematic to imo.
It's a good fight set up. It was a pain my first time around and i hated Basaran for that, but it's one of the best in the game
SuperSalvadorBros i have a similar experience with Celosia. Used to hate it, but its since grown on me. Only colossus i actually hate is Argus
I just hate them based on he fight
SuperSalvadorBros I felt the same. How I hated Basaran at the first time, good Lord... It was so hard to beat it...
My Favorite is Hydrus
Your the first one that supports Hydrus that I've seen in the comments why Hydrus? Thanks for commenting!!
I think that if the player puts himself in Wander’s shoes,he will find that those descriptions are the most intimidating, and the fact that both fights live up to them just makes them the best
malus
because Malus a tall colossus and shoots out fire balls
Good Pick Malus is one badass colossus-
Thanks for commenting and watching! Really hope you enjoyed it!
My favorite is either Avion or phalanx. Just the thought of 2 massive creatures being able to fly is amazing and the effects of Avion making a wave as he swoops down on you just blew my mind. These are the two most fun fights in my opinion.
Watch the follow up to this video at th-cam.com/video/q1OU_bLXmvQ/w-d-xo.html THANK YOU FOR THE SUPPORT
SuperSalvadorBros the 8th one is the first to shoot projectiles not 9
Gameplay wise: Argus, I liked the multi-step process of defeating him.
My favorite has to be Phaedra or Avion
Thanks for commenting! I've never really been the biggest fan of Phaedra honestly.
I can never run into dirges arena with agro I have to walk to regain my composure
phalanx
Phalanx is a star. I thought Gaius was haha Thanks for commenting and watching!
Colossus number four is my favorite. I think I felt the most pity for it while watching videos of people fight it. From there, it grew on me significantly, to the point that I think it’s the most beautiful of the sixteen. (13 is a close second. 8 is very relatable.)
Pelagia da best, why you ask idfk
Hahaha good enough reason for me
My favorite Colossus is definitely Cenobia. But I think it’s a very fun and exciting fight
Edit: I also love the overall design of Cenobia. Also the sounds he makes are pretty funny to me. It sounds like some type of demonic pit bullies something
rather than saying my favorite colossus, I'll rank all of them (also I've never played the game, and after I do, this opinion may change)
16-Dirge (#SorryNotSorry)
15-Basaran
14-Pelagia
13-Hydrus
12-Kuromori
11-Cenobia
10-Celocia
9-Quadratus
8-Valus
7-Phaedra
6-Barba
5-Argus
4-Malus
3-Avion
2-Gaius
1-Phalanx
I ask for one and you give me all, I think its great you did! The list shouldn't change if your ranking them by just their look. What might change is once you play the game on how fun is the actual fight.
I'm not judging based on looks. I've seen each of their battles about eight times each
ahh ok gotcha well thats a good list then, but I want to ask whats the reasoning of Dirge being at #16?
Annoying. small space. simple design. having to use arrows (I'm a horrible aim). The sounds are cool, and is different tho.
at some point I'm probably going to make a TH-cam video about it.
Haha I can understand that especially since Agro doesn't like to turn when told to sometimes. If you do let me know I'd like to hear the rantXD
The shadow Of The colossus music makes me cry with nostalgia
"Basaran, the first ranged colossus that you meet"
Kuromori: Am I a joke to you?
I adore the fight with Durge, I love balancing how you run away from him, aim and turn, I heard people hate doing that because it’s clunky, but I never have a problem, and sometimes I purposefully draw out the fight because he’s so fun and his design is badass.
Barba sure teach us a lot.yall dont need a weapon to be deadly.no need for an item to kill someone, but the will and strength to kill someone
My favorites: Avion (5th Colossus) and Cenobia (14th Colossus)
Why Avion?: The thrill of fighting Avion while it's flying and flapping it's wings makes it even more exciting.
