      Yup. Btw, since back facing is a setting that is unique for each brush, it is a good idea to drag that 'Backface' button somewhere on the UI (Preferences, Enable Customize, then Ctrl + Alt + drag the icon on the UI. When you are done, click 'Store Config' and then turn off 'Enable Customize').

    Does anyone know why at 5:10 for the mortar, why not just add a simple plane/box and offset it slightly into the bricks?

      you have just too many possibilities to achieve it ..
      Actually I would insert a human body flatten it scale dynamesh move.. and -hop- .. ahah
