Top 10 Things You DIDN'T Know About ABBA | The ABBA Museum in Stockholm

  • In this video I explore the ABBA Museum in Stockholm, and I also tell you the top 10 things you (probably) didn't know about ABBA.
ABBA became famous when they won the European Song Contest in 1974 with the song Waterloo. That song became a number 1 song in many countries and also reached the US top 10 list. The band became international superstars, and their popularity peaked between the years 1976 and 1981.
The ABBA Museum documents not only the glory days of the 70s and 80s, but also the more humble beginnings of the band members - as well as more contemporary endeavours that the artists have become involved with after that.
Ten years after the band broke up they released the album ABBA Gold, which sold 30M copies
That makes it one of the most sold albums in the world. ABBA’s most famous songs include Dancing Queen, Take a Chance on Me, Mamma Mia, The Winner Takes it All and the previously mentioned Waterloo. But they have made so many other songs, and it’s quite telling that every single song on their top 20 list is a song that’s known all over the world.
But all of that is likely things you already know. This video brings up 10 unusual facts as well, in addition to all of this!

Since there was a reference to ABBA's final album VOYAGE.This blasted to no1 in 18 countries USA no2 Billboard chart and almost top 3 elsewhere. In UK (also a chart topper)ended no3 in the year end chart of 2021 with only Ed Sheeran and Adele above it,while in Germany it ended as the no1 album of the year. Not bad for a band that was gone in hiatus and didn't record anything for about 4 decades but came back in the streaming era with an organic ' trendblind' album that also ended top 10 in the year end charts globally(N08 all formats and N02 in sales worIdwide).Their VOYAGE expiremental Abbatar gigs in London were reported of having sold out over 650,000 tickets up to a couple of months ago since premiered late May '22.People travel from all over the world go back and watch this unbelievable thing multiple times. Abba is still big deal to many Gens. This is a phenomenon.Gotta give them a well deserved respect now.

Very interesting thank you. I am an american but have deep Swedish roots ( my grandparents on my fathers side came from Sweden) a few more intersting facts. Yes Frida was born in Norway a lebensborn child but her grandmother took her to Sweden as a baby as Norway was horrible to those children and their mothers. Fridas mom died when she was 2 and she grew up in Sweden. Frida also took design classes in Stockholm and is quite the accomplished seamstress. She came up with ideas and helped sew most of their costumes including the snake skin outfit, the waterloo ones and the blue and gold cat dresses she and Agnetha loved to wear. She sewed many maternity clothes for Agnetha and even made clothes for her dogs lol. I have to see this museum one day.

You didn’t do a proper research , ABBA was immensely popular in Latinamerica which includes Southamerica . We even got a whole album in Spanish and 2 songs in Spanish on every next ABBA albums .And their oil company their manager founded to trade oil and goods like crystal from Poland is in every biography book of ABBA . Gipsy friend or Zigenarvän is on many Agnetha’s pre ABBA cds
