    Our city has almost completed a “ring road” which is highly overdue. Sounds like Atlanta might want to do the same. Glad the Raptor handled the trip so well for you.

      We do. It’s I-285. At times, it’s not much better, but it’s there.

    Welcome to my neck of the woods! I'm from Kentucky, I've got a 2010 SVT Raptor with the Boss V8 6.2 engine in it.
    I've just recently celebrated going from 14.9 mpg's to 15.8 mpg's.
    My truck has 138 thousand some odd miles on it currently, and the same KO2 BFG's, but I put the air recommended for towing at 65 psi. I think that's part of my success with the increase in better mpg's.
    Thanks for sharing your trip, and truck with us Gen 1 fans out here in TH-cam Land❤

    I have a 2011 Raptor, with 233k miles and I regularly drive from Houston TX, to Modesto CA. Just made a trip first week of July ... Arizona was 110+ but my girl didn't bitch out. But I do take good take care of her. I maintain fluid changes, I do change the oil a day before I make a trip. I do alignment before a trip also.
    I love road trips in my raptor, I pull over at a Kool native American truck stop to sleep, I'll sleep in the back seat ... Has decent room for fetal position sleeping hehe

    I forgot which app it was but when I got my raptor I changed a setting and the marker lights are always on now. It might have been on the laptop and I used a free trial. 3 years and they’re still always on even if the lights are off.

      I learned my lesson at 16 years old, had my cruise control set at 75 in the rain... in Houston. Car spun 2 times and ended up facing on coming traffic stopped on the shoulder. Pure luck I didnt hit anyone or anything. hydroplaned like it was nothing.

    Try I-285 next time when you come through Atlanta. It runs around ATL and connects you to multiple highways (I-85, I-75, I-20). Just FYI

    LA Traffic and the surrounding areas put Atlanta traffic to sleep because we have many more freeways yet they are ALL filled with traffic all the time. Horrible.

  • @MrSkunks
    @MrSkunks 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Also what day were you going through Atlanta? I was driving through on feb 3 when it was raining non stop. Traffic in Atlanta wasn’t terrible but like you experienced, I noticed 5-6 rear ends that just completely stopped traffic. Almost went crazy. Is as if no one knew how to drive in rain.

    Just wondering is 80mph your maximum highway/freeway speed limit? Australia here 🙃

    • @joevanseeters2873
      @joevanseeters2873 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Most states in the United States have a Maximum speed of 70 MPH on Interstate Highways (also known as Freeways in some states), although most people do 80+ MPH and are not bothered by Highway Patrol Troopers. Usually 10 MPH over any speed limit is generally tolerated by law enforcement except in residential zones. There is a multi-lane highway in Texas that has a speed limit of 85 MPH for a 40 mile stretch. Some remote western States which have very long open expanses of highway, sometimes for hundreds of miles, (Montana comes to mind) don't have any speed limit in the daylight hours only.
