Yeah I like both Slim fitting and relaxed fits for different reasons, and obviously different occasions as well. Depending on what scenario I am dressing for usually will dictate if I go for the slim or relaxed "fits". So I tbh enjoy wearing both, and I think you can look stylish in both. While I tend to wear "slim fitting" stuff more often I do think a lot of times people in the "menswear' scene can get a little too hung up on the whole "Slim fitting" thing. I really like this video, provides some good visual evidence as to what types of fits work well more relaxed or more fitted.
for me the best option is the relaxed taperedd fit. Its more comfy, grown up, classic but still has that tapered fit whete it follows nicely and compliments your leg. But they have to be the right size in length and waist and it also helps if the are raw selvedge.
@@СевернаяЗвезда-в9м tapered means that it follows the line and shape of your leg, naturally(as possible). straight jeans means that the jeans dont have any shape pretty much, they go straight down. Then you have how close to your leg you want your jeasn to be. Do you want slim, regular or relaxed. So you have relaxed tapered or slim taper, and you have slim straight or relaxed straight or regular straight. There more combinations as well that dont really make much sence but there are out there like for example straight tapered. Like what the hell is that, you cant have straight and tapered at the same time. Its like saying im a christian atheist.
I prefer the slim fit, but the problem with fast fashion is that the trends are what you will see in the stores so its basically impossible to find a good slim fit jean these days because the relaxed jeans are whats trending.
bro. only immature follow trends mature dudes follow their own style & make them special see big stars stellone, jason statham, arnold, keanu…… so on. simple tees (simple style , classic) simple style wardrobe = evergreen style = classic
I know right, but if you can find a pair of elastic jeans/pants even if they are slightly loose (not like a potato sack, then its really hard or impossible) you can alter them via a tailor, or just a friend/family member who has a sewing machine, i myself learned how to do it through this youtube channel "Stylish Dad" and its greats, in like 40 min you can have the perfect pants for your liking, if someone on your family has a sewing machine :)
Not everyone is the same for years I wore classic fit jeans but on me they look extra loose and baggy. A slim Levi’s 511 looks like a classic fit on me. .
Team relaxed fit here!! I prefer relaxed or tapered looks as they fit my body better. I’m not a small person so the relaxed fit compliments my silhouette better and makes me feel comfortable and confident. I may add Marcel, your definition of relaxed is hardly relaxed, a true relaxed denim is wider and higher waisted, I have a pair of 90s fit denim and they’re much baggier but still put together because they are high waisted and do not stack. A suggestion I have would be to shop Women’s denim for relaxed fits that are not too baggy. I frequently wear women’s jeans and they often fit better in terms of relaxed vs. slim. All this to say, you should try the wider fits, they’re a great fashion forward way to switch it up in terms of your everyday wardrobe.
bro has a fashion channel but is stuck to a style thats been obsolete since 2017. Why do people even watch his videos still? Like its literally the same shi over and over again. No growth whatsoever
I think we live in a wonderful time right now where both slim and relaxed fit pants are acceptable and can both be made to look great. I started wearing relaxed and wide leg pants again and absolutely love the comfort and effortless look with a baggier top. Easiest way to pull it off is with slacks and trousers, not so much with jeans.
I was just like you, preferred my jeans in a slim and skinny fit but after a week or so, i couldn't stand the way they hug my legs, it's annoying and uncomfortable so i went to straight fit, same problem, they hug ny thighs a bit so i went over to relaxed fit and i fell in love. So much leg room, they don't hug anything, exactly what im looking for all day comfort
I’ve always went for slim fit since my Emo days but it’s been 15 years now and lately, I’ve felt more comfortable in the looser stuff. The pandemic has changed my life and I think that goes for everyone too. Also bodybuilding and slim/skinny jeans don’t really mix that well. I think I’m gonna stick with the looser trend now not because I’m on the bandwagon but because it fits the carefree life I’ve always lived just that much more. I think this video made me realize that.
3:26 those jeans are amazing, the fit of it is on point. The excess fabric gives you a more rugged look. Like you dont care but Im sure you spent a good hour n a half finding that specific fit at the store.
Es una lástima que en México no podamos usar estos looks de tantas capas, hace demasiado calor como para lucir esta ropa tan genial, solo funcionan cuando hace frío.
Slim looks better,I was a teen in the 90s but the only relaxed that looked decent was the khaki, I'm a bigger dude,I rock athletic, relaxed is too much,I even do slim but usually a size up if I do. Great channel, been following you for years, keep up the great style!
TBH guys, just wear what you want. I personally has both slim and straight even one that’s a little baggy, and I loved all of them. I just wear whatever I feel that day
My style changed so much the last year and a half. Most of your styles and clothes i dont rly like anymore. But still respect how u dress, and sometimes u do have some pieces that i do like. I went from classy and slim outfits to relaxed and baggy.
Good points. I guess just because something is trending, doesn’t mean I gotta drop what I think and feel looks good. I liked the a little bit from both cuts. Thanks for the vid 🙏☺️
I have the combination of both. Slim for date or dinner outings. Relaxed for more casual days like shopping, going to the Barba or travel or airport 🧳👌🏽
i seem to noticed more relaxed fit outfits when I'm out and about (London) but as a skinny guy I cant go that relaxed. definitely need a loose fit top to balance it out.
Great video. You are on point with find the proper silhouette. I tend to go for an athletic fit mostly levis 541. I do find them ok but a bit low fitting and tight in the seat but has a good silhouette and taper. My ideal would be to find a relaxed taper. I find it difficult to find them. With relaxed the cuffs at the bottom tend to be very wide.
I feel like slim is staying, not to skinny but slim, and regular/relaxed will be a fade. Still tho my fav are the relaxed but cropped trousers with a tapper. They are in between. Kind of your famous traveler pants from zara, but a bit roomier, just a tiny bit. Ot like the ezy ankle lenght trousers. good video as always
I’m south of 5’10” with short legs and larger quads and hams. The slimmer fits work better for me. Relaxed make me looker shorter than I prefer. I can rock at straight fit tho. Levi’s Docker 5 pockets are great straight fit pants.
Love your videos and respect the fact that you try to embrace trends for the sake of showing them in videos, but i talk by myself and i also prefer slimmer/skinier jeans for a couple reasons, one i think they are aesthetically more pleasant, two in theory they waste less material for the production of 1 pair of pants(so its better for the enviroment :] ) and because i've always been superactive, as a kid i wouldnt stand still for 2 minutes and i would rip a lot of pants that had no elasticity, moreover i always felt restricted in my movement, something that went away with slimmer more elastic pants. :)
I just got a new pair of relaxed, straight selvedge jeans and I honestly really like them. I have to get them hemmed a bit because there isn't any inseam options, just waist. But even as a 5'5 120lb guy, I'm liking them even more then just a basic skinny fit like I've been getting cuz I'm skinny. It's just a whole different vibe. Skinny fit gets kinda boring so I've started preferring slim or relaxed fit styles. Just seems more versatile.
I definitely vote slim over relaxed. 🙋🏻♂️ Slim just looks better on guys who are fit and relaxed just looks sloppy. I’d rather accentuate my hard work in the gym with a nice, streamlined fit than cover it up with something baggy - IMHO.
I think the relaxed fit would look better if they were a bit more cropped, especially the last pleated pants which imho were drowning the converse while it would great if the pants stopped around the top of the shoe.
As a dude on the shorter side slim fit or skinny jeans that don't hug my legs tight help me look taller. Straight or relaxed jeans make me look shorter which i hate.
It all depends on your body type, I wear slim jeans but they honestly look more like a regular fit jean on me because my legs are skinny a 501 Levi looks like a relaxed/baggy fit on me
Regular tapered 501 is my go to..... Most slim fit is to tight..... But all my trousers are slim fit.... For jeans either regular tapered or straight...

I think people are afraid to try out new things because it's out of their comfort zone. What Marcel has demonstrated for us is a slim vs. relaxed fit and as you can see that the fits are still great. A relaxed fit doesn't need to be baggy at all and the trend is going to the extreme that people wear super-baggy jeans/trousers. As you can see in the video, the relaxed-fit jeans are tapered through the thighs and still fit Marcel's body. People are wearing wider-fit jeans that are actually making them look out of proportion, which might be the reason why some of you guys don't like it.
I prefer slim but as I am expanding my boot game I see myself picking up relaxed more and more because boots look better with a relaxed fit. Atleast for me and my style...
Relaxed is good in its own way and slim fit is good in its own way. Although I prefer the slim fit, but I feel in some cases the relaxed fit just looks better, when wearing it with something baggy, like an oversized hoodie/ tshirt...
Slim are my type or at least the type I prefer, but having huge calves make them look "skinny" all the time.😒😏 Great video I always agree with your wardrobe 100%.
in my opinion relaxed fitting pants look really good and street but i wouldn't wear them everyday as they need to be styled with more effort and caution. I still prefer slim pants for everyday wear as they just feel more natural and go with almost everything
i'm a no fashionista, also i'm truly learning everyday how to dress properly, seeing you learning from you and from others, also... in my humble opinion, the oversized fits need to be balanced and worn in a certain way.. to make that piece the centre stage, let's say you are trying a pair of relaxed t-shirt with some jeans... now i'm sure you know more than me on how to look better in a t-shirt and a jean 😅, but i think that the very nature of a relaxed / oversized t-shirt demands the jeans to be a bit slim fitting... to make a contrast or so to say... a balance... to make the silhouette a bit more congruent with your vibe, it treads that elegant path where you don't exactly look like a potato sack (if you chose both piece relaxed / oversized) and also a bit fashionable / trendy... now of course when in doubt, being conservative and choosing the trusty old fits will always prevail over the trendy and new things, still, I think it demands a bit more detailing and a bit more attention to pull off that look rather than just adding it to your preferred fit / choices of pieces. having said that, even i've been scouring the internet for a long time now... and this video is a step in that search, so thankyou for this and keep being awesome love 💙💙
I think the relaxed fir works best in the sweatshirt look. The rest feel like smart casual - kinda and warrants a slim fit. Especially considering how athletic your build is, its accentuates it even more. Relaxed fit kills your body build look a little.

I think both slim and straight/relaxed look good in my opinion. It just depends on the vibe you're going with, the type of fit you're putting together, you feel me.
Im a bigger guy with thick legs, and i find the baggy fit doesnt work for me. I want to slim everyrhing up and the whole baggy relaxed look makes me look alot chunkier then i am. With the right slim fit, I look alot more lean then I really am.
Slim fit will always be the better fit. Fitted, preferably, but yes slim fit. Relaxed looks messy and unkempt in my opinion. The fashion industry has tried to beat us upside the head with relaxed fashion, but it still does not look right in my opinion
Depending on how it is styled, relaxed often looks more visually appealing. Most of the designers I like have moved onto only relaxed fits and oversized tailoring. Good references are Jil Sander and J.W. Anderson as well as womenswear tailoring and minimalist chic.

For me it's slimmer fits for darker shades and looser fits for light wash denims.
I gave up on trends long time ago and went back to the good ol' Levi's 501 and 505. Those look great for slim guys with big thighs and legs like me!
Slim fit but relaxed fit looks cool too
