Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bestow peace and blessings upon him) looked at Umar one day and smiled at him then said, "O son of Al- Khattab do you know why I am smiling at you?" he replied, "Allah and his Messenger know best." He said, "Allah, Mighty and Majestic, boasts about the people of Arafat and boasts about you specifically." Al-Tabarani.

I listened to seerah of Umar RA many times, but heart 💖 doesn't satisfies and wants more and more from his Seerah, Ya Allah unite all Muslims with Prophet Muhammad SAW , Abu Bakr RA,Umar RA and other sahabas.

The conversion of millions around the world to the light of Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, witness the evidence;
If what you are upon was the truth, and the perfect path, you would not have left all these millions of your people around the world, and your books would have been enough to guide them, and they boarded the ship of salvation by following the truth and avoiding falsehood and the oppressors. The Almighty said: {And do not incline to those who do wrong, lest the fire catch you, and you have no guardians besides Allah.
I hope that you will review what you are, so how can you be assured that your doctrine is the truth, and the best way without verifying that and searching for the truth in the rest of the doctrines? You may be mistaken in your choice. There is no shame in searching for the truth in more than one aspect. I hope that you review what you are, and do not judge those who disagree with you with infidelity and fire, and you do not know anything about his belief other than what you hear about him. Read, and search for it yourself, and be impartial in your research, and do not rely only on what is mentioned in your books and heritage.
You do not know, perhaps God will bring about something after that.
And those who strive for Us, We will surely guide them to Our ways, and God is with the doers of good.
“He who dies without knowing the imam of his time dies a death of ignorance” [Sahih Ibn Habban 10/434 h 4573 - Majma` al-Zawa’id 5/218, 224, 225 and 9/111, 221 - Al-Mu’jam al-Awsat by al-Tabarani 6/70 Musnad Ahmad 4/96 h 16922 (h 16434)].

MashaAllah, we should also acknowledge the great wives of Umar (r.a), they were so patient and supportive! What kind of women be with husband who don’t even have money to afford food, clothes and basics? May Allah shower mercy on wives of Umar (r.a) and his household, Ameen
Abu ubaidah, khalid Ibn Waleed and Amr Ibn al As along with many others were very important in the early Muslim expansion.

As a small kid my favorite sahabah was Umar (ra), but the only thing i knew about him was that he was a strong and strict person.

We can't just anticipate some savior? Don't get me wrong we need to rely on Allah and exert our efforts starting with developing our Characters.
We need to get real connections with our family and communities and develop a brotherhood. COVID-19 and the gaps in salah is like a sign of Allah that our hearts our divided (because of our sins (and we need to repent right away!))
We need to revive the abandoned commands of Allah and rule by them! Especially the ones that have been so heavily suppressed. We also need good character and honesty in our dealings.

We need to do better but the reality as foretold by the Prophet SAW is that the Ummah will stay divided until a man from his progeny comes and establishes justice and unites the Muslim nation. The love of this world has deceived us, made us weak and downtrodden when in fact, we Muslims used to be a powerful nation. For now, we can just pray and try to do better to the best of our abilities. But that promised savior is meant to be a source of hope to the Muslims no matter their situation today.

During his khilafa he appointed all his kiths & kins on important position (governors) who were not deserving and never fits in the criteria of governors (that's why downfall started which ended with his murders by the same people, who he helped rise.
