Umar was forced to change course and instead went straight to his sister's house. When he arrived outside the door he heard them reciting Qur'an, fatima Bint Al Khattab and her husband Sa'id Ibn Zayd(umar's cousin) and one of the ten people who were given the glad tidings of Jannah. They were being taught Qur'an by Khabbab Ibn Arat.
When he knocked the door and they recognized it was Umar, Khabbab went into hiding and Fatima hid the pages of the Qur'an under her thighs. When he entered he asked 'What was that humming sound?' They said, 'It was nothing, we were just talking.' He said, 'Don't lie to me, what was that noise? And have you become Muslims?' Sa'id Ibn Zayd replied 'And what if Islam is better than your religion?' At that point Umar attacked Sa'id by throwing him to the ground and sat on top of him. When Fatima saw that she came to defend her husband but Umar struck her on the face and she started bleeding. She said, 'You enemy of Allah, you hit me just because i believe in Allah?' Whether you like it or not, i bear witness there is none to be worshipped but Allah and Muhamad is the Messenger of Allah, do whatever you want.'

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: *The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said,* “There are two statements that are light for the tongue to remember, heavy in the Scales and are dear to the Merciful: ` *Subhan-Allahi wa bihamdihi, Subhan-Allahil-Azhim* [Glory be to Allah and His is the praise, (and) Allah, the Greatest is free from imperfection)’.”

3- Do you love prophet saw ? if you do . you should love umar ibn al khattab too . Because as we all know , prophet saw lovessssss his companion . and its a sunnah ! :)
The Prophet also said in the hadith from Jabir:
"Allah chose my Companions over everything else in existence except for the Prophets and the Messengers. He chose four of them for me; Abu Bakr, 'Umar, 'Uthman and 'Ali. He made them my best Companions, and all of my Companions are good."

Why don't you all just simply follow the Qur'an and Hadith.,,,, There's nothing above these two sources to be followed if you want to go to paradise. I myself is not a shia or a sunni or whatever you people divided yourself into... I'm only a Muslim, that's my identity, I only worship Allah and follow His and His habib Rasul(Sm.) 's commands. Even in my boyhood I had lowered the chest of (the famous men) of Arabia, and broken the horn points (l.e.,defeated the chiefs) of the tribes Rabi'ah and Mudar. Certainly, you know my position of close kinship and special relationship with the Prophet of ALLAH-- peace and blessing of ALLAH be upon him and his descendants. When I was only a child he took charge of me. He used to press me to his chest and lay me beside him in his bed, bring his body close to mine and make me smell his smell. He used to chew something and then feed me with it. He found no lie in my speaking, nor weakness in any act.
From the time of his weaning, ALLAH had put a mighty angel with him to take him along the path of high character and good behavior through day and night, while I used to follow him like a young camel following in the footprints of its mother. Every day he would show me in the form of banner some of his high traits and command me to follow it. Every year he used to go in seclusion to the hill of Hira', where I saw him but no one else saw him. In those days Islam did not exist in any house except that of the Prophet of ALLAH - peace and blessing of ALLAH be upon him and his descendants-- and Khadija, while I was the third after these two. I used to see and watch the effulgence of divine revelation and message, and breathed the scent of prophet hood. When the revelation descended on the Prophet of ALLAH peace and blessing of ALLAH be upon him and his descendants-- I heard the moan of Satan. I said "O' Prophet of ALLAH, what is this moan? and he replied, " This is Satan who has lost all hope of being worshiped. O' Ali, you see all that I see hear all that I hear, except that you are not a Prophet, but you are a vicegerent and you are surely on (the path of) virtue.

Those companions of Muhammad -peace and blessing of ALLAH be upon him and his descendants - - who were the custodians (of the divine massage) know that I never disobeyed ALLAH or his massenger the peace and blessing of ALLAH be upon him and his descendants at all, and by virtue of courage with which ALLAH honoured me I supported him with my life on occasions when even the brave turned away and feet remained (instead of proceeding forward).
When the Prophet - the peace and blessing of ALLAH be upon him and his descendants-- died his head was on my chest, and his (last) breath blew over my palms and I passed it over my face. I performed his (funeral) ablution, may ALLAH bless him and his descendants, and the angels helped me. The house and the courtyard were full of them. One party of them was descending and the other was ascending. My ears continually caught their humming voices, as they invoked ALLAH's blessing on him, till we buried him in his grave. Thus, who can have greater rights with him than I during his life or after his death? Therefore depend on your intelligence and make your intentions pure in fighting your enemy, because I swear by Him who is such that there is no God but He, that I am on the path of truth and that they (the enemy) are on the misleading path of wrong. You hear what I say; and I seek Allah's forgiveness for myself and for you.
