There are so many Ulama of the ummah who considerate Umar ibn Abdulaziz as the 5th Rashidun Caliphate after Abu Bakr, Umar ibn Al Khattab, Uthman ibn Affan, Ali ibn Abi Talib.

He is the best ruler after the sahaba but he is not near the sahaba in status. Sahaba have a special status given to them by Allah and his messenger. Abu Sa’id al-Khudri reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Do not insult my companions. If one of you were to spend the likes of mount Uhud in gold, it would not reach a small portion of theirs or even half of that.” Source: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 3673, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2540
