      @@trailrunner925 but better than no justice at all. Some countries do not honor extradition with USA, and do not bother to do anything to seek justice against internet crime. The case of the Nigerian girl screaming that she was being killed, was not initially investigated due to no petrol in the police van, and the police saying that she is an adult who can go missing on her own and the video of her screaming meant nothing. Only her friend took it to social media and discovered it was a catfish setup with multiple female bodies in his yard.

    My 16 year old son came to me in January to let me know he was being "blackmailed" aka sextorted online. The perpetrator (also from Nigeria) worked hard to gain my son's trust in a rather short period of time. All of the details surrounding this ordeal were exactly the same. It was one of the most terrifying experiences Ive endured as a parent. I will continue to thank God every single day that he came to me that afternoon. This is a silent epidemic destroying our teens and we must do everything we can to protect them.

    • @Sam11747
      @Sam11747 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not really difficult to find scammers. IP address are logged and easily traceable if they're as-is. Jordan was a minor and a US citizen. This gave the federal government extraterritorial jurisdiction; meaning the legal ability to pursue the crime overseas if they wanted to. Once the crime qualified for extraterritorial jurisdiction, this allowed federal and military to use assets to be used to locate exactly. Additionally, Nigeria is bound to an extradition by various international treaties for crimes against minors. The other scams you mentioned, like the elderly, don't have the legal element of minor to pursue such charges.

This young kids’ family probably had some pull to make things happen. it makes you wonder how much power the United States really has. If they want to get you, they will. Maybe this will serve as a warning to some of these other Nigerian and other scammers to maybe not mess with United States citizens. This is the first case I'VE heard of where a criminal, from Nigeria or India, has been found and extradited to America.
    Thank you to the FBI for tracking them down, and thanks to these parents for sharing their story. I'm sure they have saved some lives by doing so.
    I hope they get a life sentence w/o parole or the death penalty. Who knows how many people have died from these scammers? To watch those criminals smiling is outrageous.
    These criminals will STILL send the pictures and videos to their schools, churches, and their high schools, as soon as they can't pay any more money to them.
    I've heard of many cases of suicides from young men and women taking their own lives from these horrific crimes, and bullies.
    If this happened to my son or daughter, I would read the texts, but not look at the pictures or videos, because I doubt it was just a dick picture.
    If Jordon was so shamed and embarrassed he took his own life, I doubt he would want his parents to see it.

      As humiliated as he may have felt, it may have helped him to know that he was not the immoral criminal and he only made a mistake that many teens have made. So glad they have someone that can be held accountable for this terrible crime. We have to get the word out that never ever send out nude photos. They see public figures take theses photos and post them on their accounts so they don't think about doing it but we need to reinforced no reason to ever, ever send out nude photos. Even to someone you know that you are dating or married too. If that relationship goes bad you don't know what they will do with your photos.

Be prepared to find things in their phone to be non-judgmental about. As a teenager, it is soo easy to feel like suicide is the only answer. In this case, there is nothing the parents could have done. But we have to find ways to deal with all of the bullying that seems to be growing online. I'm so sorry, Jordan 💔

They can take someone else's compromising photo of just a body part and attach it to a post with a separate picture of you (via sent selfie or profile pic) saying it's your compromising photo. People can start protecting themselves by locking down all their social media so that their accounts are NOT public. Delete people you do not know in person and only share things with friends.
