I honestly thing they got the better end of the deal. They get free food, housing, healthcare etc by being in a US prison. They don't have those luxuries back in Nigeria.
They must be enjoying their time in Prison. I would have rather they were sentenced in an overcrowded Nigerian Prison getting food only once a day.

Guns are only one of the many ways kids take their own lives. Cars, drugs, bridges, etc. It's all very sad. When I was a kid, everyone had an unsecured gun in the home. Never heard of any kids killing themself or doing a school shooting. Perhaps the problems isn't with guns but with broken homes (as statistics show) and Hollywood.

Furthermore, If you actually think Russian and Iranian people are in prison then you are truly a very ignorant person. Besides America having more people in prison (2Million) than Russia or Iran COMBINED, in America it is (1) illegal to dance in the street in Alabama, (2) illegal to whistle in public places in California, (3) illegal to sell pickles that don't bounce in Connecticut, (4) Illegal to sit on building stairs in St Louis, (5) Illegal to hold hands in public in parts of NJ, (6) Illegal to throw snowballs in Utah, (7) Illegal to attach a muzzle to a dog in Washington, (8)Illegal to mispronounce the state of Arkansas, (9) illegal to place ice cream in your back pack in California, (10) illegal to remove a condom while having sex in California, (11) illegal to keep furniture on your porch in Colorado, (12) illegal to catch a fish with your bare hands in Indiana, (13) illegal to sing in public in some areas of Michigan, (14) illegal to whistle while swimming in Nebraska, (15) illegal to drive with an ice cream in your hand in North Carolina, (16) illegal to possess more than 1 Koi Fish in Hawaii, (17) illegal to possess bigfoot body parts in Colorado, (18) illegal to possess mysteriouis balls or spheres in Alabama, (19) illegal to possess barking dogs in parts of California, (20) illegal to possess Silly String in parts of Arizona, (21) illegal to wear a Tuxedo in public in parts of NJ……And these American laws prohibiting possession and movement go on and on and on. Parents bear some responsibility for how a child develops and matures. We never talk about that in society but it used to be understood. I have friends who have spent years cultivating that early on, they didn't give instant access to social media and they had weekly discussions about all of this. They chose to be parents and not friends with their kids. This is tragic but if parents are not responsible for the moral character and inner strength of their kid, helping them make wise choices by giving them consequences etc,...I mean if they don't lay the foundation who will? Why do some kids never send these types of pics at all? Or if they do why do some tell their parents and others don't? It comes down to parenting. Unprotected firearms in US homes contribute to millions of unwarranted deaths per year and this family and officials should be considering why a 17 year old had easier access to a firearm than he did the comforting guidance of an open communication line with his parents, before immediately rushing to disproportionally blame social media when the fault largely lies with the perpetrators and those responsible for not preventing a 17 year old access to a firearm.
