Hi J. I have a tip for you. I am disabled and when I book an accessible cabin there is always a shower curtain. Bring a few clothes pins to put on the bottom of the shower curtain and it will weigh it down so it doesn't molest you. Have a great time! Love from your #1 fan from Delray Beach!
I bring towel clips. They work on pool deck and in your room for this.
Want to take my dad who's disabled on a cruise. Would love to know if you find cruising accessible for you? Thanks!
I was on the Miracle in a accessible cabin and you are totally right the water just left the bathroom and went under the door out on to the carpet. But when I was on horizon they seemed to fix the issue at the cabin I was at
@@tduck828 great idea. I bring towel clips too but never thought about it.
@@bleuaqua8102 I think all ships are fully accessible although I have only cruised on Celebrity. The accessible cabins are much bigger than the other cabins so you can move about in a wheelchair and even the balcony staterooms have a roll on balcony. They also have lifts to get disabled people in and out of the pools and the hot tubs. I really hope you take a cruise with your dad. We do a family reunion cruise once a year and my mom is 91, my aunt is 94 and my uncle is 81. There really isn't anything you can't do on the ship. Our elders don't get off and go to ports but they totally enjoy every amenity onboard. I hope this helps you out.
I’ve been on Radiance many times. She was the very first ship I sailed on & that’s how my cruise obsession started.
I have been on her twice and have two more cruises booked on her.
I sailed this ship when it she was the Victory in 2009 Our cabin was an aft balcony right over the C in Victory...LOL This was the last cruise I took with my now dearly departed only sister. We had a good time and I have fond memories of our final vacation with one another.
Jay I must say I miss these videos of you boarding on a cruise ship.
Glad to see you back at what you do best!
The big dome where Jay checked in to board the Radiance used to be where the Spruce Goose was on display. Also, as the ship leaves and pulls back into the dock, it passes by some small islands with what look to be buildings with interesting architecture. They are actually manmade islands used for oil drilling. The decorative buildings hide all the oil drilling equipment and help with noise reduction. They are named after American astronauts Ted Freeman, Roger Chaffee, Gus Grissom and Ed White. All four died while in service with NASA. Freeman died when his T-38 crashed. Chaffee, Grissom and White died in the Apollo 1 fire. Grissom was the second American to fly in space. White was the first American to perform a space walk.
My first job, was a tour guide for the Spruce Goose.
OKAY...WHAT DID I MISS? $100 CRUISE? HOW, WHAT AND WHERE? I AM ARRANGING MY LIFE TO TRAVEL FINALLY!! I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!...CRUISING IS SOMETHING I WANT TO DO! CHEAPLY OF COURSE...$100 CRUISE...FOR HOW LONG (24 HRS)...BEAR WITH ME ...I AM LEARNING!
yeah. How did that happen? The thrill of a Bargain!!
I was on this cruise and got to meet and chop it up with Justin at the Atrium Bar.
Cool Brotha!👍🏿💯
Lots of people don't like the Radiance, but it is actually one of my favorite ships. I prefer the smaller ships, it is easier to get around in.
I agree. The small ships can be just as fun! Heck, I had a blast on Carnival Sensation before it was decomissioned.. but maybe Im just easily entertained? Who cares, more fun for me!
My first cruise ever was on carnival from Long Beach, CA!!! We flew from Chicago. The time zone difference killed us! Have a good time!
I loved the time change from central to pacific. You mean it's only 3am? I have 5 more hours to sleep. LOL
We took a cruise on the Radiance last year. We flew in from StL and that two hour difference was no fun the day we left or the day we returned.
Glad to see the JTHENOMAD out and about. Having never cruised. I think I will start with a cheap one. This one looked like fun times.
This is a great starter cruise.
I was on Triumph in 2001 and then Victory in 2002. They were sister ships and they were both the big ships in the fleet. Both were absolutely beautiful back then
Very interesting to see all the changes.
We were aboard it as the Victory in 2017. I highly recommend the balcony suites on the Spa Deck (low traffic area as there are very few rooms, and quiet at night).
We sailed on that ship when it was the Carnival Victory back in 2015 to Jamaica and Grand Cayman from Miami. It had the 1.5 upgrade at the time (only the Alchemy Bar was added at the time) instead of the 2.0 upgrade some of the other ships received. I recall it was a nice cruise and the ship seemed freshened up from its recent drydock. Since that sailing, we have sailed on the Carnival Sunshine (aka Destiny) and the Carnival Sunrise (aka Triumph). We have sailed on all 3 Destiny class ships in the fleet.
Great to see my favorite Carnival cruise comedian, Doug Williams, is now performing on the Radiance. Saw him on the Imagination years ago and he was absolutely hilarious. Called the cruise we were on the Section 8 cruise.😂
I love the Radiance. It's an easy port for me and I've sailed on her twice before, with another scheduled next year. The crew is outstanding.
Absolutely love sailing on the radiance.
I agree!
Thank you for a great update. Great video always nice to see people having fun. Enjoy your cruise.😊
I was on this ship on Halloween weekend. Because the route stays so close to shore, my cell package worked 90% of the time save a couple hours at night and the at sea day. I liked the experience at Long Beach I just wish there were more ports. You can only go to Catalina and Ensenada so many times.
So glad u are back cruising!
I'm old, but I love Carnival's sailaway parties!
Great video J.
Thanks for sharing, hope to see more from you on this cruise!
Glad to see you posting on this channel!
I didn't know you had this channel also. Definitely subscribing to this 🔥
Yay! Another vid! I’ve been waiting for 2+ months and believe me, it was not easy😂
About that damn time we got a cruise vlog from u Jay
Nice vlog. Thanks for showing us around. Looks like a nice ship. Hope you enjoyed yourself.
This wasn’t rusty at all, J! 😊Thoroughly enjoyed it and looked like a fun time.
The layout of the lido deck does look just like the carnival freedom
Hi J
I just booked my first cruise. On the Carnival Firenze, which sets sail this next year, after its refurbishing this past year. Can't wait! Your videos have helped to inspire me to take my first cruise. Thank you! Also a thank you to Lauren, who I have enjoyed watching on your videos as well. Happy sailing! 😊😊
Good to see the Radiance ship. Booked on it for later in the year for 14-day Hawaiian.....couldn't pass up total fare, fees and taxes balcony on deck 6 for $180 per person. Only way I'll ever get to see Hawaii
It looks great! I was on this ship for my first Carnival cruise when it was still called Carnival Victory! 😊
Same here , in Florida
I just love that California check in terminal - it’s SO fun! She’s a lovely looking ship - that atrium is waaaaaay better than Panorama etc!
OMGEEEEE!!!! We had Doug Williams on the Celebration in October n he’s AWESOME!!!!!!
Another great review from the best cruise vlogger on TH-cam!👏🏾
I thoroughly enjoyed this video 🎉
They used to offer me $100 cruises too pre Covid. I would cruise every month or so on the Victory. Loved it
Good info , as I’m going the following week . Reminds me a little of my first cruise I took on the Miracle in May. I gambled a bit and got some of the same deal as you got, but I got a balcony
Finally some good content bruh I been waiting. These 'Cruise News' videos get old quickly
Looked like a fun crowd! Nice updates on the ship.
geez those two need to take it to the bedroom lol
miss these videos.
Nice this was so chill to see. Ty
I love the carnival radiance, such a great vessel!
Within the last year, my arrival time is always 1:30-2:00pm. My room is always ready. I eat before arriving because as you stated dining venues are crowded. I do this regardless if I am sailing from NY/NJ harbor, Florida, West Coast US, Europe or Asia. It works great. For dinner on the first and last night, I treat myself to a specialty restaurant. Love cruising ❤
Looked like a fun crowd 🎉
There are two versions of the Rock show, the one J showed was the scaled back one. I was speaking with one of the dancers during my Dec 2022 cruise.
Loved the radiance traveled from Mich can’t wait to go back west
Have given up on Carnival and your video just cements that.
i went on a 14 day trip to Hawaii on that ship and loved it, great ship!!
Wow. Great memories. I was on this ship in 2017 & 2019 "Victory" before they turned into the Radiance. Great vlog.
Thank you for the video. I'll be on the Radiance next month 🎉😊
Hi J! I'm already subscribed to Ship life. I was talking to you on your live earlier. Now I'm subscribed to this one. I enjoy your videos and am planning to have you be my travel agent in the future when I've saved up for my cruise. Until then I'm going to keep watching your videos on both channels.😊
I agree about shower curtains. Next time go to the dollar get a shower curtain and hooks put it over carnival own
Went on the radiance in January and it’s one of my favorite ships .. love shaqs big chicken
Aah mate I just missed you! I was there until November 3rd! Hope you have a great cruise
Awesome your cruising again. And from California.
Enjoy. I was on this ship in 2005 when it was the Victory
I love the radiance it's my go to here in LA ❤
Oh hey! Welcome to the😊 neighborhood!❤
I see now yeah very informative and for someone who has never been on one cruise I'm very interested in the financial side of it and to know if possible on certain budgets thanks for sharing
Wow. It looks exactly like the Sunrise
I have been getting $50 per person deals. I need to jump on some of those deals. 😂
Nice vid J
I’ve been waiting so long for you to finally sail out of California. I’m taking a cruise in December so fingers crossed maybe we cross paths one day.
We went to Blue Iquana three times while on the Mardi Gras in May. Yummy. We had never tried the restaurant before
I thought I was seeing the freedom , you are right.
I’m going on that ship in June! I hope it’s good! ❤
We cruise out of Long Beach all the time. Very easy. love Radiance and Panorama
I like your video style!
That little guy was shaking a tail feather or two! 😮😊😂😂😂
I liked the lobster roll when I was on the Vista, but they really skimped on the lobster salad...mostly bread.
Such a great ship ❤
I love
The boarding at Long Beach terminal and when I went on the carnival panorama 8/19-26
I’ve been on this boat twice and next month will be the third, love it
Just got off the Halloween sailing. I’m already thinking about booking again this spring since I didn’t get off at any ports 😅
@@nicki7919 I was getting off when I seen the decorations going up lol! I will be in for Christmas, I seen the Christmas decor because they still had it out for new years it’s a big gingerbread house and a tree and wreaths and bells draped over the railings
I’m surprised you didn’t see Big Chicken. I hope it’s still on the Radiance. I was on that ship last year in August! I loved the Radiance. It reminds me of the Conquest as well
I just got off MSC. I realize now how much I really like Carnival.
Looked like a fun party! I am looking at Holland America's Pacific Northwest sailing to check Canada off my list..
Going on the Radiance in April for spring break
Wow my first cruise was on Victory and I cruised on Radiance back in Feb 2023.
This ship was out introduction to Carnival a year ago. The wife and I have know been on her twice. Like the ship, Like the vibe on board. Loved Deon the CD but he is on the Panorama now.
I'm platinum and never get those kind of deals
You’re in my state and that’s so cool with me makes me wish I was on that cruise so I can meet you 😅I hope you had a good time cruises out of that terminal tend to be ghetto 🤷🏽♀️it’s not just a Carnival thing the area matters as well
I mis the pre shutdown days of th $199 4 night cruise on NCL sky with drinks included we went on that cruise alot
We had Doug Williams on the Halloween cruise on the Celebration. He was hilarious!
I loved going on the Radiance. The lido deck's food was so bad that my only choice was Guy's burger or bbq or wait for formal dining. Other than the food it had everything my family could ask for and we would go on it again. This year though we decided to go on the Navigator of the Seas to compare the two companies.
You will like the Navigator, I go between the two cruise lines
Haven’t been on a cruise, yet, but I love Long Beach/San Pedro area!
You should try cruising. Unfortunately I didn’t do my first cruise until 2012. If I would have known just how cool they are..How much fun you can have or how many places are on ships to just chill and relax. Maybe absolute BEST sleeping happens on ships..how really affordable they are compared to land based vacations, I would have cruised when I turned 18. I was just ignorant. Thought Cruising was for the rich.. thought they may be boring.. boy was I EVER wrong. Oh and I also thought using a Travel Agent meant spending more money. I went on to learn that the customer doesn’t pay them typically.. when cruising . The Cruise lines compensate them 🥰P.S If you take a cruise, PLEASE see a Doctor and get motion sickness patches.. even if you never got sea sick on a regular small boat. The over the counter pills take time to work. There is nothing worse than being on a cruise and getting sea sickness. I forgot my patch 2 cruise’s back and had to do the pills.
We really like the size of Radiance. Prefer longer trips so we don't go on her much. Shaqs Chicken grilled is amazing on a salad.
The Victory was the first ship I sailed on in 2006. We had an interior room on deck 2.
Wow
I love that ship
Uh-oh that's the one I always go on 🤣
I was on the victory right before she it went into dry dock to become the radiance and she looks just like the new sunrise . The only thing I don’t like is the teeny tiny comedy
Club . Ps love you vids !!!
I been on that ship 2 times so far it's a Great ship
I loved the ship when it was the victory
That ship looks fancy. As a cruise addict and I live a few hours from the port I should go ❤ I've only sailed out of Florida and PR
It’s a nice ship
There's always so much food on board i never get the lobster roll but i will one of these times
Lysol everything 😅
15 drinks aday plus water ,soda coffee, juices unlimited
If you cruised on Nov 13 I would have cruised on Nov 12. The Carnival Miracle was doing the same Baja I got that same deal but I picked the Miracle because that ship is always more laidback and all the crazy people go on the Radiance because it’s newer the same price and causing to the same place the next day. But it’s all up to your personal preference.
Uh oh did you forget muster drill? 😂 jk I know you just didn’t get that on video. My bestie who always cruises with me calls it the mustard drill.
Dam.. hope you liked LBC. We have been on this ship 3 times. 👍
Heyy Lil Fella !!!
i went on this ship for my first cruise to ensenada
