I was between them at 2009.
I visit the dealers of both of them, I was 60% to Ktm mostly because of the high position.
It was suit me better I am 1.97cm.
But the dealer of BMW make me a better offer and i bought the GS.
I didn’t regret it, but when I look an 990, it’s like an unfulfilled love!

I own a 2007 990 and I wish you had addressed seat comfort. I absolutely hate the KTM's seat. Mostly due to my skinny butt and 200# body. I intend to install Luimoto Gel and after that I will be trading to BMW.

It be a hard choice for me, but i'm a used market buyer so i'd just find the one with the most farkles least miles and best condition for the least money, there both the better bike, just depends on what terrain and riding style you prefer.

1:30 the windshield is almost perfect??!! i test drove it...the windshield was so crap and useless it only focussed the wind on my head, so instead i was thinking idd beter take it off and just take the full wind force instead >.

Hilarious. There is NO comparison off-road between these two bikes. The 990 leaves the GS back at Starbucks
