That gentle touch on the face after Ben stabs him, after Ben betrays him shows Ben that his Father forgives him, that he loves him as his son no matter WHAT he does. And that simple, beautiful act, plants the seed of doubt in Ben's mind. It makes him question about whether or not he can ever rid himself of his old self to give himself to the dark side. It plants a seed of doubt of whether that's even what he wants, or if he's just being used by Snoke as Han told him. The body language and acting by Harrison and Adam in this scene is perfect. And while I understand it, it's annoying that a lot of people miss it because they are so caught up in "THEY KILLED HAN WTF!!!". My other regret is that this could have been used as a really interesting way to develop Ben's arch as a character of walking away from the dark side into being something else. They tried to do something with it, but made a conflicting hot mess of Ben's redemption arc in the other movies and wasted this beautiful moment.

Well yeah, does anyone actually expect proper subversive cinema from any Star Wars films? The prequels should have thrown those expectations in the trash.
And the only reason Ford agreed to do this movie was if they killed off Han. He hated the character and has been waiting for this since Return of the Jedi.
"Ben, that's his name?" "I'm sad... I wasn't expecting this." "I've got a bad feeling about this!" "NOOOO, THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE! IT CAN'T BE TRUE!" "Can Leia feel that?" "Smoke is using you. Once he gets what he wants he'll crush you." 😢 I know. You just wanted out. Time to move on. 😎

The most defining movie trilogy and cultural phenomenon of my childhood with my passion for the characters and story that continued well into adulthood…. And Hans death was emotionless for me . That’s how crappy the sequel trilogy is. The latest smidge of any emotion I had for this franchise was Luke’s appearance in mandalorian.
I remember watching this at Arclight in Hollywood the night it came out. It was in the giant golf ball theater that seats like 2k-3k people. Kyle REN was the coolest character I have ever seen at the start of the movie. Seeing the mask, hearing his voice, the way he took out his lightsaber, the interaction with Poe, and then him stopping the blaster shot. But then he took the mask off and I could about for 3 films is that I’m watching a new episode of “Girls.” And Halloween episode where they all decided to dress up like Star Wars character…😂😂😂
I wish all these reactors knew Has Solo was really killed by Harrison, not by Kylo Ren. Mr Ford is great no doubt, but he hated Solo. There was no other outcome of Star Wars sequel with Ford's Han Solo in it.
He didn't hate Han Solo, he just felt that the character had served it's purpose after Empire. He felt killing Han would give more emotional weight to the story, which is true, but Lucas wanted to keep him in Jedi because Han was a huge merch seller. So they came up with the Carbonite thing as a compromise in case Lucas could convince him to come back. He was presumed dead in story, but since Ford agreed to finish the trilogy, they just said "oh, now he's unfrozen."
I don't care about the CGI. I don't care about practical effects, the main cast, the supporting crew, the robots, the spaceships or anything else: the third Star Wars trilogy is the perfect antithesis of what science fiction should never be by the total absence of the only one thing it needs to exist: script. That's I care. Without a good story, we only will have a good for nothing.
That’s what I thought about the prequels, too. But given the audience that slop has garnered, it won’t get any better. The sequels will get a resurgence, too, and then they’ll just continue to make basic films because that’s what people eat up. The prequels proved that.
Say what you want about Episodes 8 and 9 but I will forever say The Force Awakens was a really good movie. For the first 30 minutes of the movie Kylo REN was the coolest Star Wars character in a long time. That opening scene was a masterpiece. Then they lost me whenever he took his helmet off…
This movie is just a reboot of episode 4. It literally has the same plot. @ well to be fair, I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one saying it’s good. 95% on rotten tomatoes from critics and 90% rating from fans. I would say the majority of people enjoyed it. The only ones who didn’t are the people who either had ridiculous expectations, were nitpicking, or went into the movie already not liking it. It was a good movie that could’ve been a great start to the new trilogy. Unfortunately, the last 2 movies were a let down. Episode 7 could’ve been a completely, brand new story that changed everything and people would’ve said “why would they do this? Why did they change that? This is stupid.” There’s no winning with fans like that…
OK so I wasn't surprised and the way they telegraphed the scene you could see it a mile off which for me took away all but a little bit of the expected impact and I'm not really surprised many people consider this the beginning of the down fall of Star Wars besides the fact this movie was more or less a shot for shot remake of the original, same story notes different situations.

This death was so mishandled. One of our greatest childhood heroes was allowed to fall into some hole with no one to mourn Han Solo’s death. We got to see our characters mourn Qui Gon, Padme, Yoda, Obi Wan and even Anakin Darth Vader but not Han Solo.
Besides the terrible story of the new movies, the biggest upset for me, was that they never reunited the old crew. Now we'll never get it and I'm not sure I can forgive them for that.
Yup. Way to ruin Star Wars with the Rey garbage. Disney should have at least tried to stick to George Lucas' story model for what happened after the Empire's fall. To use Joe Biden's phrase, these episodes were TRASH. Not because of the actors, but the writers and director(s). This trilogy should be reduced to a Force Dream that never came to pass. Get back to real Star Wars content. If Harrison Ford only reprised his role so he can kill off the character, then you should have told Ford to F* off, we will do something else.
Okay, I need to clear something up from my replies in the comment section. The death itself wasn't stupid. It was the execution. With the orignal cast, it would've been so much more impactful. Can you guys now stop butchering me in the replies?
No he doesn’t lmao, that guy still gets merch money and he doesn’t have to deal with annoying nerds that don’t even like the franchise. His baby is that toy money and Disney still gives him his cut of the billions.
......killing my favorite character of the franchise. They did Han Solo dirty. I mean sure, Harrison no longer wanted to play his character, that's completely 100% okay, but to kill his character off to support woman rights and because he didn't want to .....nah....this is why I disregard all the sequels.
Killing off such an iconic Star Wars character in the most pathetic way made me lose my interest in Disney's Star Wars completely. I'll stick with everything before Disney's acquisition of Lucasfilm

My other regret is that this could have been used as a really interesting way to develop Ben's arch as a character of walking away from the dark side into being something else. They tried to do something with it, but made a conflicting hot mess of Ben's redemption arc in the other movies and wasted this beautiful moment.
Reasons why Natalie Gold rules
Everyone else: shocked, sad, surprised, angry
Nat: "I'm just not surprised, I'm so remarkably unphased, because it was the most predictable thing"
Too bad she does have witch cackle for laughter
Well yeah, does anyone actually expect proper subversive cinema from any Star Wars films? The prequels should have thrown those expectations in the trash.
And the only reason Ford agreed to do this movie was if they killed off Han. He hated the character and has been waiting for this since Return of the Jedi.
Like Natalie said, it would have been more of a shocker if he had gone home with Solo.
Can you do Kong using the baby kong as a pair of nunchucks?
How dare he kill Chewbacca's pet!
I use to tear with sadness like a bitch when Han Solo die
But Ford wanted this to happen so
"That's how they kill Han Solo?"
Uh.. talk to Luke.
BTW, Adam Driver is a tall dude. Like, 6'5" ?? And on top of that, he was built. Did you see his physique? Must've been very imposing because I didn't know he was that tall.
Went to school with him, he's only about 6'2, but like Vader, he had lifts in his boots that made him about an inch and a half taller.
I hope my son doesn’t do this to me.
That was the point of Kylo Ren's whole character. He's a sad little boy playing dress-up.
The girl with glasses is Beautiful .

Wow there are some babies in this section. This moment was needed. Now every movie after episode 7 in the trilogy, varies from bad to trash
Whatever happened to Matt the technician
Say what you want about Episodes 8 and 9 but I will forever say The Force Awakens was a really good movie. For the first 30 minutes of the movie Kylo REN was the coolest Star Wars character in a long time. That opening scene was a masterpiece. Then they lost me whenever he took his helmet off…
This movie is just a reboot of episode 4. It literally has the same plot. A robot has secret plans that can help the food guys beat the bad guys and their leader in a black mask by blowing up a giant ray gun in space. How can you say this movie is good? It isn't even a sequel, it's a reboot. They changed just enough to make you pay for the same crap all over again and people who don't know any better think they are watching an totally different movie🤣🤣 Cracks me up that people don't see this.
This is stupid.” There’s no winning with fans like that…
@@Cloud_Strife0811 Put a sock in it Final Fantasy kid.
Han abs Leia had 3 kids twins Jacen & Jaina and Anakin Luke and Mara Kade had Ben Skywalker that us canon screw Disney saying it’s not
Harrison Ford said in interviews the only way he would return to the franchise is if they killed Han.
As Adam Driver said! Wokeness killed Han Solo
Had nothing to do with that, wtf? Ford has wanted to kill Han off since Empire Strikes Back.
An emotional scene from a good movie😁
I hated it, sorry. Not trying to troll you... just sharing my reaction. I found all 3 sequels to be utterly rotten. I think it depends on whether or not you grew up with the originals.
@@Trump-iz-Hitler Well, I grew up with the prequels and the OT was shown to me at an early age. I can understand if you don't like them, everyone has a different opinion, as long as you stay objective, that's totally fine.
All this movie is, is a reboot of the first. Literally the same exact plot. A robot has plans that can help the good guys defeat the bad guys .and their leader in a black mask while blowing up a giant ray gun in space. You can't even call this a sequel. They changed just enough to make you pay for the same crap all over again. That's what is known as a reboot. And if you liked this movie, you can't call yourself a Star Wars fan. Objective or not, you can't deny the truth or facts.
@@Cloud_Strife0811 People like you are the last people who can tell others whether they are fans or not. And I don't care what people like you think. I have my opinion about the films and I stand by it. If you can't accept that, that's your problem.
@@lordren94 People like me? Actual fans that have been watching these movies since the 80's? Seems more like a problem that you can't accept the truth or factual info. All I can do is laugh at you.🤣🤣 You don't actually have and opinion. You have an incessant need for the movie to be what you want it to be. You just can't tell the difference because your time spent in an indoctrination center, also known as school. You can only think what you've been taught, so you don't actually have any thoughts of your own, so it's not possible for you to have an opinion. You just have a programmed response.
Exactly just killed Han Solo just like that, Kathleen Kennedy's great idea for a sequel trilogy, end the lives of everyone that made SW in three movies...Han, Luke, Leia (Thats like ending James Gunn ending Henry and Gal's contracts,, the DC Trinity chars)
Harrison Ford wanted Han Solo to die.
The Sequels > the Prequels. The Originals are still the best though, by far.
this could have been the start of an insane new era of star wars, its heartbreaking that this movie lead to what it did in the next two

11:25 were you surprised????
Not at all. She was showing all of us how far in she can get it.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
"Harrison Ford's desire to move away from the Star Wars franchise primarily stemmed from his wish to avoid being typecast as Han Solo. After the original trilogy, he expressed frustration with the character's lack of development and felt that he had outgrown the role.Jan 25, 2019" It's also interesting how "fans" love the original trilogy, but like to watch the prequels, or even the sequels 7, 8 and 9 and then watch the reaction videos only to say something negative or disparaging. Fun fact: Daisy Ridley made Disney billions of 💵💰💰💰 for Disney. BTW, she had no real acting experience. So, guess we all know by now who will be the leading character in at least two more Star Wars films, though they may not be connected to any of the films previously. Enjoy! 😎🇺🇲💰💰💰💰🔵🇬🇧
The moment when Star Wars Died!!!
Disney and Kathleen Kennedy killed off all the characters.
Really hated this scene. I saw it coming the moment he stepped on that bridge. It didn't feel earned at all. But at least it was a better death than they gave Luke.
Dumbest thing in star wars never forgive Kennedy
all low reaction. cuz they dont know han solo from ep4,5and 6 probably just went through ep7
These reactors are doing this just for the sake of reacting. This is the only way they could get Ford to do this movie. He's been wanting Han to be killed off since Return of the Jedi. If these people are surprised at that, then they obviously haven't been watching for that long and have no emotional attachment or investment to this franchise at all episodes 7, 8 and 9 are not Star Wars. And all 7 is, is a reboot of episode 4. Same plot with just enough changed to make you pay for the same crap all over again. A robot has secret plans that could help the good guys beat the bad guys and their leader in a black mask by blowing up a giant ray gun in space.🤦
The star wars community don't accept them
Star Wars community is lame though.
@@deckzone3000fr like that’s a badge of honor lol, the Star Wars community is insufferable
One of the many stupid decisions in this trilogy
Ford literally only agreed to return if they killed Han. He’s been tired of the character since 1980 and has never hidden it

Adam Driver was feeling like a Marine in this scene! He actually was in the Marine Corps.
There was a story here that a good writer and a director planned for two more movies but because of fate both left so a garbage director was hired to wreck the planned story archs after han solos death i wish it had been different the force awakens was leading to a intriguing story we never got😢
I walked out of the theater. Disney and Ford bullshit.
This was the moment I knew the people in charge of Star Wars had no idea what they were doing. You can’t kill Han Solo that way…. He has to have one last moment with Leia and chewy before he dies. Instead you stab him and throw him into a pit….. give me a break
Harrison was right. Han should have died in the original trilogy. At least he didn’t have to endure the next two shit shows after this one. 😂
Why does the thumbnail say Episode 1 The Phantom Menace?
This wasn't the death of Han Solo, it was the death of Star Wars.

Meaningless, disgraceful death. Never should have happened, and never having Luke, Han and Leia on screen once is unforgivable.
It wasn't Kylo Ren that killed Han Solo. It was wokeness that killed Han Solo and the entire Star Wars franchise. I hope they're happy.
The sequels are not canon movies
Cope
Not in my head canon, but in Disney's they are. Kathleen Kennedy must have nudes of Yoda with a goat.
Yes they are
Bro what are your playlists 💀
Thus ended the Star Wars we knew and loved.😢😡
Nah the prequels did.
these youtuber don't have the starwars knowledge and roots like we have, the ones who watched the first trilogy in the movie theater or vhs
You mean they aren't grandparents?
To this day, George Lucas regrets selling his baby to Disney
No he doesn’t lmao, that guy still gets merch money and he doesn’t have to deal with annoying nerds that don’t even like the franchise.
His baby is that toy money and Disney still gives him his cut of the billions.
These new Star Wars movies have sucked so bad

Han turned it on himself so Snopes wouldn't kill Ben. People need to chill.

......killing my favorite character of the franchise.
This scene, to me, was the death of hope for the entire sequel trilogy.
