I'm loving the content you put out. I had a dog years ago that was diagnosed with an auto immune disorder, her body had start eating away at itself. She was diagnosed at 3 years old. The Vet told me the only thing that would help was Steroids and she would need to be on them for the rest of her life. That was not the route I wanted to go. With reading herbals books I decided to try Dandelion and Echinacea. I was blessed to have 14 years with her. The last 5yrs she was having some seizures and developed a spot/mass by her heart. The Vet said, they couldn't do anything with it because of where it was located. At that time I did some more research. Finding a mushroom capsule (from the Asian store) and added into her diet . I share this because, I think if I would have followed the Vets orders I wouldn't have had so many years with my girl with the quality. I did find out later on I probably could have given her more of the mushrooms but, I wasn't able to find resources for any doses.
Have a blessed day and thanks again for the Video's.

My vet prescribed antibiotic Orbax and my sweet baby with ckd could not recover. There was no reason as the other broad spectrum antibiotics had not failed. Ask and if the vet will not answer why, change vets. As these two awesome ladies are explaining, good, real food will help your ckd babies!

Thank you ladies so much for the great info! I was wondering if greek yogurt or keifer can be fed to my CKD dog to help her stomach with the pre/probiotics. Thanks!

I'm not a vet but I've given my cat and dogs homemade kefir for years. One cat didn't want to eat homemade food so she used to eat kibble but at one time she got very sick (kidneys) so I started her with fresh food and kefir. She is healthy now.

Well I heard nothing about actually WHAT to feed a cat. I google how to make healthy cat food, and I get zilch! Must be the best kept secret or very expensive to even find out what to feed my older cat that throws up after EVERY meal. How much do you want for this information?

In cats with CKD you are trying to reduce the phosphorus content of their food. Make your own raw cat food and use ground eggshells in place of the bone meal typically used in their food. Search for this video by Lucky Ferals: Homemade Raw Cat Food Recipe That’s Cheaper Than Friskies
Will give you an idea how to make your own food. Remember that if cats are on the street/feral they will be eating rodents and birds in their raw form so raw is what’s best for their needs. I would use meat that is naturally eaten by cats like pheasants and rabbit, alternating between different meats so they receive a variety like they would if they hunted for themselves. I know feeding cats with CKD can be difficult so maybe introduce raw food with an inviting topper like chicken purée baby food until they acclimate. Good luck.

I’m getting mixed suggestions on my dog who was diagnosed with ckd last week who is turning 13 in November. I wanted to know is raw food diet best or prescription renal diet such as hills or royal canine? I don’t know which way to go can you please help me. I am utterly devastated and desperate for some help.

You really need to research it on your own. If you decide to try raw food, start with very small amounts and monitor your pet’s reaction. Look at the ingredients of the prescription food, choose canned with least harmful ingredients. I personally stay away from kibbles and prescription food as much as possible (because I already made this mistake that cost me dearly in terms of health of my pets).
I do the combination of high quality canned food, also brands like Smalls and Perfect Pet, some raw food and some home made stuff, I add phosphorus binder to the food and herbal supplements (like kidney support gold from amazon).
