Really enjoy your videos. Waiting for your next stage for the Vortex ECU and the full Yosh exhaust. This was the biggest improvement to my 450L. I put your black/red graphics kit on my 2020 and it looks great. I’ve done all the same mods except the tires. New Motoz RallZ tires in my shop ready to go on this weekend.
Parts availability is the biggest problem at the moment. But we want to go further with the CRF450L. It's a long list. Thank you for ordering the graphics kit. Your support is very much appreciated.
Well, we were working on Stage 2 and Honda pulled the bike back and we do not know when we will get another one to get going again. Honda needs all the bikes they can get right now to sell. Unfortunate, but that's the way it goes.
The CRF450L is a bit of a basket case. Needs major things done to make it rideable before going out on trails. Persistent flame-out is probably the first this that I would want to fix. Vortex ECU, plus a Yoshi/FMF pipe helps a lot. Also there's a couple of emissions (bypass) kits around that would also help alleviate this issue. There's a lot of weight around the headstock that needs to go somewhere else The other thing is the height. Who needs a 37" seat height for a trail bike? Not everyone is 6'+, especially as the bike is bulky(heavy) The stator does have capacity to run an extra headlight and it's top speed is useful at around 90mp/h. It's a good project bike for someone who doesn't mind spending an extra $5K on top of the purchase price. If you were to do that though, there are other bike options that offer a better bang-for-buck.
Very true and as an owner of the 450l i can say that the vortex with a pipe totally changes the bike making it a top of the line dual sport. Its heavy but it hides its weight well. Plus i think we can all agree ktms and huskys are no where near honda reliable
Go and ride some of the other bikes about (not just pumpkins) and feel the immediate difference. The other part of this tale is the poor backup from Honda when explaining what was going on.
The 450L is close on everything except weight and the ecu. And you can use the vortex without a pipe. Again I don't think it's awesome of honda to put a herky herky trail bike but all the other mods people do are the same on almost all of these bikes. Beta can't seem to source wiring harnesses or connect them every time, KTM rattles your teeth out and costs a grand more. Non have a good seat , gas tank, or hand guards, or skid plate for that matter.
Ok so this is the impression I am getting from 450L videos. SPEND 11K ON A BRAND NEW 450L BIKE THEN YOU ONLY HAVE TO AD ANOTHER 3K TO GET IT COMFORTABLE AN PERFORMANCE. Anyone with commen scence an no money to through away should clearly see this is legal rape/robbery. Honestly nobody I ride with puts 15k in dirtbikes. #shame honda geeshh
Well, if you live somewhere that getting a plate on such a bike is really difficult this is a great option. Beyond that, the CRF450L offers a lot of on road capability the the X etc. simply do not. It just depends on what your core needs are. If you need a strictly offroad bike, yes you can avoid some of those costs very easily. We are just glad there are more options available to us. Nobody is forcing anyone to buy it.
@@UPSHIFT_ONLINE Not Tottally Understandleble bc everything you just said dont change the fact that 450L is overpriced then you still have to add more money to a brand new bike to get it up to par. Everyone I know who has owned a 450L has been unsatisfied. Reliable yes more so, BUT performance sucks. #facts
All of the high performance bikes have the same crap seat and gas tank. And non have legit hand guards. The husky has an ok bash plate but that bike is 11.6k So really it's just the crap ecu.
Just gotta shop around a little. I got my 450L from my local honda dealer brand new for just over 9k out the door. I'll take build quality and reliability of a honda over a little more power of a ktm any day. $1200 on a pipe and ecu and it's a completely different bike!

Oh and that seat, looks more comfortable because the one I have from stock is like sitting on a 2 x 4
Seat Concepts comfort seats are the best thing you can get.
Your recommendation for the tires is very much appreciated, I’ve been wondering which ones to get because I have no idea so thank you very much.
Happy to help!
Very nicely done. I need to take a cinematography class or something.
Thank you for watching and the kind words.
pros and cons, i don't think you say "um" nearly as much, so that's a point in your column LOL
John you just need a helper to drive the drone
Nice Style!
Thanks! Appreciate you watching and commenting.
Nice video, when is the stage 2 and 3 coming out?

Nice Honda CRF
It has been a great bike for sure. Thanks for watching.
Is this the “gripper” seat top or the “low slip?” Comfort? Trying to Figure out the best route for me
It's the Comfort, Low Slip. The Gripper is pretty aggressive.

A JD Tuner and the stealthy stock exhaust works great for me.

If possible, get a 450X instead. I scored a ‘19 450X, new old stock, for 7k....did a ds kit and I’m all set
Californians don’t have that option 🙁
The X is a great platform as well. The L/RL has some differences that are appealing to some riders. Just depends on how you are using the bike.
Great deal!
The friggin seat is too thin. How about a real seat like the xr650L
That would fix the comfort level.
Seat Concepts makes the Comfort XL which is a wider option and has "hips" to it that help keep you forward when riding standing up. It's really nice.
So all said an done you'll have a 15 thousand dollar dual sport bike. Next comes the maintenance.
Thankfully they still produce DRZ400s.
