Powerful stuff. I live near the East Durham Coast. There used to be a farmer's field between the railway line and the cliff edge. The field is no longer there.
Coastal erosion has of course always happened, nature gives and then takes away. The clay cliffs are no match for the sea and we lose a lot of land every year.
Interesting stuff. As a kid we used to camp on the beach in California and I loved climbing on the tilted remnants of the old concrete highway that had caved under and fallen in places.
Wow!!! The sea is just hammering upon the shore. That's pretty crazy. So what will become of all those cattages? I imagine they will have to pull outa there? Regardless, it is a good show of nature making its claim. Enjoyed the stroll, Ian. ~K
I assume the owners will relocate them before the winter, I know I would. As for the permanent cottages, they will go over the edge, as did the other buildings.

I did similar lol, you don’t see the dangers at that age.
Scary how the sea is clawing at how coastal shoresides.
It is Nick, I have seen the erosion at first hand for the past six years.

In the States we have a saying when times are good… “High and Dry”
Well they are high at the moment, but I doubt they will be dry for much longer.
its been ages since iver been there the last time i was there i saw a building in half near the edge
I reckon a few more will go over the edge this winter. I intend to visit again next year, video and compare.
Why is this been allowed to happen, if it had been a rich mans estate they would have put sea defences up.
