Great footage!! After reading the comments, it seems odd that this erosion has increased. That is until I looked at the satellite view of the area. It seems that the town of Bridlington is the problem. They have constructed groynes, seawalls and a harbor that are keeping the sand from making its way up the coast. Very common. Once you disturb a section of coastline it is forever a problem in other areas, many miles away.
Yes, indeed. What most do not understand is that water bodies - whether rivers, lakes, oceans, etc., will react to anything done to them. For example, I am from the US and know nothing of this area but can assume that Bridlington is likely finding itself dredging sand from their man-made areas mentioned above due to the ocean's adjustment to their invasive measures. The result is that the beaches that the sand being dredged once fed, no longer makes it there to replenish the area. There is a wonderful YT video titled 'A River Of Sand' that explains this. @@timothystravels8492
Brilliant footage. 👍 I would be moving my static well away from there. 😮unbelievable that folk are still living so close to the edge. I wouldn't be able to sleep at night. You have done a brilliant job capturing it. Excellent work 👌Would love to get my metal detector down there.
Lovely words, thank you. I'm trying a few changes to my video approach this year....onwards and upwards 😊😊 I couldn't live so close....it would freak me out, especially on a night. 🫣😬
@timothystravels8492 I really enjoyed it. No way would I be able to sleep there knowing I could end up on the beach. 😱 I liked the way you had the drone track you. Good stuff. 👍
Thank you, and yes it's dawned on me that these videos may have a slightly more important role than I first imagined. The more I see, the quicker it's changing. Davey
Can't beleive this my handbag had a caravan in Ulrome in the 70s & early 80s we holidayed there often the site & clifftop where her caravan was has gone! It was near the edge back then. Its eroding so fast & there is nothing you can do to stop it. Glad you have documented it. 😢
I know, we've literally just got back from Danes Dyke....witnessed a cliff collapse and I've been left scarred by the state of the, normally white cliffs... Video to come, you must check it out...it's bonkers!
Sad to see the coastal errosion and lost communities. The aerial footage really brings it home how vulnerable our coastline is. I've added your channel, hopefully you'll connect with another Mini drone pilot and creator?
When I was a kid in the fifties we had a caravan at Beachbank, Skipsea owned by Les Simpson. Looks like it's now about 100yds out to sea. There used to be pill boxes on the cliffs and some had fallen into the sea - they made great islands to swim out to at high tide
Great footage mate and nicely done 👍 I did TH-cam vids on this piece of coastline in 2018, 2019 and 2020....and there was no where near as much erosion in one season!! 😞
Fascinating video. Not to be a killjoy, but I'd strongly advise anyone not to use that ladder. Could end up in a whole world of trouble. Thanks for the video. Great work 👍
@@timothystravels8492 I remember watching a video of an abandoned holiday park that was falling into the sea at Ulrome about three years ago. It's probably completely gone now. Crazy!
Been going to Skipsea since the 60s. Omg it's depressing. Campsite on cliffs gone. Railway carriages gone. Track to Atic gone Who in their right minds had bungalows built on the cliffs? It even had its own petrol station at UBC.

That's an interesting observation...it does seem fruitless in the long run, moving a problem from one place to another.

Out standing and the music just all goes brilliantly together
Thank you very much, I really appreciate it. 😁

Fantastic footage and very tasty music, especially liked the wah wah pedal bit !
Thanks muchly! Delighted you enjoyed the wah wah...I use a 'bad horsie' wah 😅 thought I'd add that detail as it amuses me still. 😅
@@timothystravels8492 That’s a fantastic sounding wah pedal and it’s got a lot of sweep. Great name too !
Brilliant little video, these places along the East coast need documenting as much as possible for future generations

I guessed it was not your handbag. That would have been weird 🤣

It really does....quite shocking to see.
Nice one mate we go there every year it's getting really bad there now buddy great bit of flying Don x Jan 🤠🇬🇧👍👍👍🥴🥴
Cheers muchly, I hadn't been to Ulrome before, seen Skipsea's demise over the years. Truly shocking!
We used to go to skipsea on holiday omg 😳 so.much has gone beautiful place left to fall in the sea
Sad to see 😶

Amazing to hear your memories....such a lot of land has gone since you were a kid!
Back in the ‘50s there were large concrete blocks on the beach at Ulrome, I wonder how far out they are now.
I bet they are quite far out by now! 😬
Great footage mate and nicely done 👍

Much appreciated my friend!
It does seem to be speeding up, quite devastating really.
Fabulous footage but quite sad 😢. We've been going to Seaside Caravan Park for 20 years and the erosion is much faster now 😢
Thank you. Yes, it is terribly sad to see, all happening so quickly.
Eerie music really adds to the situation
Yea, it's quite apt...Hippy Goats are my go to weird music.
We use to go there and stay at a caravan site near by back in the mid 80s it was bad then
It's not getting any better!

I've spoken to lots of people with similar memories and sadness.
Dramatic views.
Indeed....pretty devastating!!
YOU WOULD THINK THE LOCAL AUTHORITY AND CARAVAN SITE COMPANIES WOULD TRY SOLVE IT TOGETHER CONSIDERING THE AMOUNT OF CASH THATTHEY GET FROM IT ALL.
You'd think so....
like King Canute you mean?
interesting music?
Trust me when I say, they are a very interesting band 😉
👌
Plenty of caravans going cheap
I wouldnt know tbh 😅
😥😢😢
I know right? 😶
