All work is (or atleast should be) our contribution to the society. It is an opportunity to serve in such a way that we all are taken care of. It is we helping each other. Unfortunately, capitalists see humans who work as nothing more than resources to keep their private business running.
The world is still majorly capitalistic and will be till we view work as an end in itself. It does nothing but feed the economic machine. No, work is a means to an end. That end is our collective state of well-being. This is why we work. This is our real goal. All those economic numbers don't mean anything unless this is achieved. This is true progress, not becoming the nation with highest GDP.
Underrated TED talk.
Wow, Nick's always been an phenomenal speaker and this talk is no different. Heard it when I needed it the most.
Great talk! Going to go work on my own projects now
