exactly, Indian people are brainwashed into thinking western things are modern. You can modern ideas even with eastern ideas, its just the political parties demonise western things so much that Indian equate being backward regressed with being hindu

Absolutely! My two uncles married to someone outside their ethnicity, and one even outside religion.
And in the modern generation, a few of my cousins who are married had inter-caste marriages.
    So, it depends on generation.

Treating fellow human beings as equal is modern thinking. Untouchability is a conservative thinking. 1:30

so the guidelines from WHO to maintain social distancing during covid, the hygienic lessons from west to India to not touch food with hands etc are conservatives and not modern but their lifestyle full of untouchability is modern? Thats the problem, Indian Librals and leftish dont go by defination just because they hate their own culture cast and religion without even reading or learning about it! they created a narrative that Untuchability has a thing to do with cast or religion! and also compare our dharma with abrahamic religion! thats simply stupid and colonized brain!

I don't think untouchability exists in India. I live in a village, there is no untouchability. Caste system exist as most of people are from same family of one caste so they are related.
In terms of merriage, rural Indians prefer to marry in same caste children are not to do love marriage in other castes.
I think such tradition is changing but in some castes, like Yadava, Bhumihar, Kurmis families are very strict. In Brahmin and Thakur have some support for intercaste marriage but with a girl of lower caste only.
Actually joint families are strict and Yadava Bhumihar Kurmis have most joint families, while Brahmins, Thakur and Lalas are those castes where women don't wanna co-operate with a big family and are more self centred.

That is just a stupid definition. It does not actually capture any spectrum of the word's meaning at all.

It's not Indian it's West Indian to North West and middle India the cast system is there and they stuck in that mostly, I'm not saying other parts they don't care about but they aren't like the west , and West and Middle Indian have the audacity to think whatever they do or think the whole India is like that. Honey sorry to say 😴 India is huge not just your state .
