I said no to my 15-year-old cat when he was a kitten and even gave him away 3 times. The first time turned out to be a bad situation so I had to rescue him and take him back, the second time they changed their mind and gave him back, and the third time he ran away and came back to me so I gave up. I still threaten to get rid of him from time to time and he remains unimpressed with my threats.
It's cute that you thought you could say no to her.
But hey, being a kitten, she can grow up on tour, so many people to get pats from, so many laps to sleep in...
I know exactly how you feel about Winnie ! I rescued a teeny weeny black kitten out alone in the pouring rain ! Stole my heart on the spot! Of course I kept him !!!
I found my furbaby in the same manner. She was just a couple of days old when she tumbled through our fence and my dog found her and brought her to me ( I watched him find her, so sweet and gentle) .
Smudge is now almost 18 months old. Congratulations on the new addition to your family. 😻

So our story - the ranch, a working ranch out in the boonies, was beginning to get overrun by mice. We had only been married about 3 yrs and hadn’t started a cat herd yet, just dogs, horses and cows. So I want to get cats. My husband says only three. We come home with six. (Ha, he’s a softy!). And then that little male kitten that was too young to breed. He wasn’t! The little stud! Lol. There was a population explosion - 6 turned into 15 all at the same time! Lol. Loved’em all. There was nothing funner to do than to grab a good bottle of wine and a couple glasses after a hard days work and head for the barn for some activity- kitten activity that is! We’d sit on some bales and watch all the attack antics. We’d been using from the bale stack so there were short stacks and tall stacks, a few scattered bales so lots of hiding places for surprise attacks. What a hoot! There was action everywhere you looked. Even the young momma kitties got in on the all star wrestling. Great memories.

I live about 20 minutes from Winnie, Texas, and can confirm the mosquitoes never go away. Growing up we used to sarcastically call them birds they were so big.
Biggest mosquitoes I have ever seen.

Baby kittens are so sweet and precious. My cat named Georgia is now 11yrs old and still does the purring and kneeding thing as I call it. Reminds me of when she was just a tiny baby. Cats are so comforting ☺💕🥰 I can see you both really love animals.

Cheese and crackers, I just spent the rest of my life savings on driving from Ocean Springs Mississippi to Covington/Mandeville Louisiana to see a dental specialist for my Calico feline friend/partner. However, before that took me for broke, I did buy tickets to see you guys at the IP in Biloxi Mississippi!!!! CAN'T WAIT!!! What we WON'T do for our furry friends!! PS it might behoove you purchase one of those snuggle safe micro wavable heating pads for the little baby. The temperatures are going to plummet this coming thursday. Unprecedented temperature drop up and coming.

Sweet. Reminds me of my son in law bringing home abandoned kitten. My daughter googled how to feed and teach a kitten to groom etc. He is polydactyl (hence his name is Hemingway). 13 or 14 yrs now.

I really couldn't find an appropriate place to share this information-when you're ready to work on your Wildlife rescue/sanctuary...here are the names of two that are just phenomenal & really good people. Wild at Heart in Mississippi. She is a possum queen. But they do all different kinds of animals. Ima Survivor Sanctuary in Texas. You can see them on U-tube. If you plan on traveling with your newest family member, please take the kitten to a vet and get him/her checked out by a vet. Get the kitten shots as soon as the vet recommends. I’m the neighborhood cat lady. The kids bring me all the kitten drop offs, (A.K.A. Unwanted kittens). I take care of as many as I can.

Cute kitty. Do you know how to rub their tummies after eating? A damp paper towel works well. Mom will lick their tummy to help with urination and bowel movements. It's gross but a must with the real young.

Heads up Amberly, Texas has mosquito festivals! Thats why we bathe in Avon Skin So Soft. It has mosquito repellant properties. Rumor is the coaches keep bounce dryer sheets in their pockets because it does the same. (They occasionally take one out and wipe down exposed body parts.) 2 alternatives to not smell like a can of bug spray. We look forward to seeing you guys in Houston next week. Thank you for the early Christmas present, seeing cut lil Winnie. Btw, Austin knows you very well.

😂 Y'all crack me up! Bottle feeding and getting them to potty is always fun, but it sure is great for making babies super friendly as adults! Been there a few times and the formula recipe puts good weight on them. If you'd like the recipe just let me know. It's super easy and stores in the fridge for feedings. 😊

If "Bless the Broken Road" isn't "your song" it should be - you're both so fortunate to have found each other. I loved this video and fell in love with Winnie. I've never had a kitten - only second-hand cats (i.e. "I'm moving out of the province. Here - take a cat" . . oookay). Now you have cats and dogs (and deer on your property), I'm just waiting 'till you get goats, horses, etc,!

Amberly you were in Texas. My sister has a baby kangaroo that it’s mom refused to take him. My sister has to feed him. He is so small that it can’t hop. She lives in Waxahachie. She is The Creature Teacher. I wish you could have come to hold him.

I remember having to hand feed an orphaned kitten with an eye dropper until she could eat on her own. Had to take my vacation time since she had to be fed every couple of hours.
I worked in an office, so I just put my 3 day old rescue in my bra and took her to work with me for a couple weeks.

Austin Brown! Give that lady some Avon “Skin so soft “body wash and lotion to keep those mosquitoes away. The regular smell, they for some reason don’t like it. Believe me I worked where sand fleas abound and mosquitoes loved me, but they left me alone if I use this stuff! Cause mosquitoes get even bigger!
