Home Free is so talented and so hilarious! Edit: Also, I remember in the Home Away From Home series that Austin said this (Covid-era) was the most time he's spend at home since the Sing-Off. Home Free also mentioned they want to take less time touring so they can be with family, and they deserve as many breaks as anybody else. They work their tails off making superb music, and I will support them with whatever decision they make.
Sorry that Austin is leaving the group but it’s understandable for him and Amberly. Looking forward to seeing who takes his place. Love HomeFree and will always support them!❤
Chris Rupp turned me into a Home 🍟 I listened to the butts remix yesterday. It always throws me into a giggle fit! Full of cheer is my favorite song for the same reason! 🤣🤣🤣
What beautiful personalities these men have. In addition to the great voices, that is also a reason that I have become a real fan of theirs. They complement each other so much. One is more present and verbal than the other, but they accept that from each other. How beautiful is that? Another one of their great talents: switching from tenor to bass, etc. Every song you are curious about who does what, but it sounds great every time. As for why Austin is leaving the group, I can understand it. There are several people/artists who feel that way after Covid. For example, we had a very popular duo here in the Netherlands (Nick and Simon) who decided to split up after 17 years because Simon also had that feeling. But Nick, the other half, is doing great now, so I'm not afraid that Home Free will continue to be successful just as they are now. And there will certainly still be an occasional collaboration between Austin and Home Free. Love Home Free!❤❤❤❤❤
Gosh Tim sounds low when he speaks. They’re such a fun group of guys. Love them saying Chris can’t sit still and they love sitting still! Hahaha. I’m with them! Nice interview.
I love Home Free! Also I hate to hear about Austin leaving the group, but wish him and Amberly a very happy life together. You gotta listen to your heart.
Great interview! I understand why Austin’s leaving, but they’ve done two albums in a row that were just repeats without originals! Not exactly a fan of them doing those in a row, & I think it’s a really bad idea to end his tour doing just a repeat of stuff they’ve done for years, instead of ending on a new album that shows their ORIGINAL music!!! Our #HomeFreeGuys are simply incredible & fantastic!!! They need to end showing their amazing, beautiful new stuff!!! Their new stuff would leave the fans and other artists wanting MORE!!!They will forever be true stars in our eyes!!! #HomeFryForLife!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥⭐️⭐️⭐️
At least we have So Long Dixie as a testament to Tim and Austin's originality. But I agree - although some of the new treatments have been amazingly re-imagined, mostly it has still felt like walking familiar paths. Actually a lot of Fries seem to want only the familiar, so perhaps the band want to give them what they want.
They are releasing another album at the end of this year. I am not clear if it will have Austin on it, but I suspect it is in the works so it might include him. Tim mentioned the album right at the end of this interview.
I just love Home Free! You guys always put a smile on my face. It doesn't matter if you're singing, in concert, on a video or just doing an interview. Thanks for that😊❤
I couldn’t help but notice how many things in his interview tied in with VoicePlay and Geoff Castelucci. Geoff arranged their Elvira cover, Layne helped arrange their Butts Medley. Voiceplay has a short doing Chili Baby Back Ribs, Geoff already has a short covering Beyoncé’s new song… lol
I want to take this opportunity to comment on Home Free. A particular music react channel, Red-Headed Neighbor, was a fan of Home Free before reacting to Man Of Constant Sorrow. She was a fan of the song from the George Clooney movie. She was not a bluegrass fan, but she respected the genre. Her followers kept requesting Man Of Constant Sorrow. Reluctantly, she agreed, but she warned us that she was going to be HARD TO PLEASE. The song moved her to tears HAPPY TEARS as she forgot to breathe at various spots. She did NOT notice the beboxer, Austin's lead, Tim's bass, the harmonies. She reacted that you elevated a beloved song. Of course, another reacter on another song, GO UP HIGH ON THE MOUNTAIN, broke down emotionally and wept. My initial reaction to Man Of Constant Sorrow was slight. I grew up in the Ozark Mountains and in congregational acepello singing (Church of Christ) I heard that stuff all my life. Austin deceived me. he wasn't anyone but a hillbilly who can carry a tune. Undiscipled and untutored hillbilly voice. Austin fooled me because I did not hear that hillbilly voice in the other songs, especially not R & B. Tim's exquisite bass fits the southern Gospel sound of the Statler Brothers and the Oak Ridge Boys. Home Free could arrive un-invited and incognito at any Church of Christ and not be noticed. So, what is the secret to their success??? the Beboxer. The least noticed and least appreciated. If I had a million dollar of disposable income, I would produce a movie set in Appalachia in the year of 1850. I would cast Home Free as actors.
Love them so much! Thank you for this interview, would love to see them live but it's an impossible dream. Sad Austin is leaving, they are lke my family, but respect is decision of course. Hope they continue getting more and more sucess 'cause they deserve it, super talented and nice people. Adam is my favourite, sad he was't here. But great interview!!!
Looking forward to Austin’s solo stuff coming up! Austin did the right thing for him & Amberly ❤ HF should get Brooke Eden to take over for Austin, cause he CanNOT BE REPLACED. There is Only 1 Austin Brown ! He will definitely have my support
Won't matter who they replace Austin with this group will never be the same or sound as good as they have for years. I admire Austin for putting his family first now and being true to himself though.
I've never in my life liked Acapella at all. I can across Home Free and they blew my mind. These guys are awesome. Austin man, your voice is amazing, Tim blew me away with his lows and then I heard his highs, Holy freaking shit, this dude has serious range. Adam, what can anyone say, this dude is amazing, he blows my mind everytime I see a video. Rob has a great voice as well, Adam I wish he would do more leads, great voice. Put these guys all together and you have one KickAss amazing band. I drove bands on tour, it's brutal out there. People think it's easy. I'm sure Home Free will agree Hot Dogs and Raman Noodles was food o fchoice.
I appreciate how laid back and casual they are when talking about Austin leaving and how switching bandmates is a thing that has happened a few times in 24 years. I wonder what sort of tech stuff Adam Rupp does while these guys are out doing the interview circuit?
Hello Guys. Very sorry to see Austin saying goodbye. I have loved hearing you now for about 6 years. Calling my wife over to "listen to this!" Suggestion for you guys. There is an old song from the 60's, "The Dolphins" sung by Fred Neill that I have thought for some time would be a natural for Tim and the band. Beautiful song and Fred Neill had a deep voice.
I bought my own tickets for Mothers Day for me and my kids to see y’all in Biloxi in April but got sick THAT DAY and couldn’t go! Maybe in another four years 😢😭

Austin could work a week--then take off 2 or 3 weeks --ya gotta work to support the family. We're not ready to let go,yet

Yes, it was fun when it was all "family". Jenika as tour manager, Olena, stylist. Sami - BTS/photo. And all of them making video appearances.
