I love this!! Winnie needed you and you came through. Several years ago, we were asked to care for a teeny tiny wild bunny. A cottontail. A dog had gotten into the nest and killed all but the one. We took on the challenge and honour of caring for this ball of fluff with eyes. It went on holiday with us to Whistler and thrived. We were able to release it on our hillside property when it was old enough to care for itself and happily, we have had rabbits living on our property ever since! It's a great feeling to know you were responsible for keeping one of God's beautiful creatures alive and safe. You guys are awesome!
This was the beginning of a life changing journey for us. Thanks for watching. Can’t wait to show y’all the rest really soon ❤❤❤

Ohhh you two are so sweet with that baby kitten. Thankfully you are so kind hearted. I'm with you their's know way i could have just walked away. I dont understand anyone that could just let it die. Thank you for being such sweet , compassionate parents. I also admire Tim and his love of cats. Kind of rare in men. My son is a big cat lover. 🐈🐈⬛

Such a sweet baby. We raised 10 babies abd it was so rewarding to experience that. When she took to the bottle i was thinking yes little girl, you can do it. Im looking forward to part 2.

Awwwww. :::sniff::: Previously had a few rescues but never ones that tiny. This did wonders for my BP and mood. Jolted awake by smoke alarm going off at 5:30a, for no reason, a few days ago. On the heels of that, and already frazzled, have endured wood flooring being installed in apt directly above me for 2+ days. So...thank you. Can't wait for more of Winnie's story.

You have a female winnie and I have a little female Minnie who came to my 90 year old mother starving. She did feed her and give her water. She refused to bring her in the house and she was laying on some plastic grocery bags covering some metal bars from a wind chime and it was freezing cold out. I think, she might have been hit by a car because her hind legs were deformed. I brought her to my house to live with my other 3 cats only to find out she didn't like other cats. My big cats are still afraid of her as she will attack them. Now I also have a tamed feral cat that comes in and goes out and he is even afraid of her.
O , Winnie is so cute and precious. So great that both of you could help her. Everyone of your friends and band members.
It is so wonderful that you took Winnie on. It is not an easy thing, bottle feeding a young kitten. I did this with three abandoned kittens when I was a teenager and it takes ALOT of time and effort! I kept one of the kittens when they were old enough and that cat was my best cat ever!

Watching this in late July 2023. As a person who loves cats this makes my heart skip a beat. I only became aware of your channel today. It came up while I was perusing Home Free Videos. So glad it did. I'm a real fan of Matthew's singing as I used to sing tenor/lead in a barbershop quartet in the barbershop society and I recognize the gift you have been blessed with. I recently watched your trilogy videos and I am so happy you two found each other. I hope to attend a Home Free Concert sometime and get a chance to meet you. BTW Saw your cover of "Ain"t No Sunshine" which I enjoyed greatly. I have Bill Wither's version as my ring tone. God bless you both.

I'm so glad you made a video about Winnie's journey - I couldn't have "let nature take it's course" either! She is such a sweet little thing and watching Amberly, Tim's mom, Tim (and Jenika by cell 'phone), Sebastien & Chris all worrying other the kitten was just heart-warming. I can't wait for part 2!

Thank you! I have been waiting for Winny's story!! We have adopted cats who have been abandoned at our farm, so it broke my heart to see a tiny kitten abandoned. I'm so happy that you both were the "nature" that found and took care of her!
I’m so glad mine was old enough to eat watered down canned food! He’s a BIG boy now and turned three this month. It’s been fun watching Winnie grow and I’m glad we get to see the very beginning of Winnie’s life with y’all!

I have two cats that I bottle fed. The first one was Wilson. Found at Wilson's lumberyard at 5 days old. I was fostering two older kittens at the time. A lady I was working with to foster kittens bought me Wilson.He was my first bottle baby.That was in August 2, 2012 Wilson went everywhere we us (me and my husband). I work at an elementary school and started back at work Aug. 20, 2012. I took Wilson with me. The following week the students started school. So my wonderful Amazing neighbor became my kitty daycare lady. On Aug. 27th after getting home from work my friend calls me. She has another 7 day old kitten.Her neighbor, Jason found him abandoned in his Window well. Soaking wet covered in fleas. She asked if I would take him. Of course I said Yes! After getting a bath with Dawn liquid soap the fleas were gone. Now I had 2 bottle fed babies!
And my Amazing neighbor took care of both kittens while I was at work. We still have Wilson and Jason! They are 11 years old. We have had many cats/kittens that we have fostered. As of 5/14/23 I have 6 cats including Wilson and Jason. All have been rescued. Wilson & Jason 11yrs, Flash 9yrs, Nora (guessing) 6 yrs, Max and Molly Siblings 5 yrs. I still get updates from all my foster furbabies.
This happened to me a few decades ago (I was 18 then). Heard the dries coming from under a bush on our farm. Found the kitten alone with no mom in sight. Left it be but kept watch over it to see if mom showed back up, thought she may have been out hunting mice. But. No. Mom never came back. None of our barn cats had been pregnant at that time. So, it must've been left by a stray. Anyway, after 3 hours with no mom and no other cats coming near the crying, I scooped it up and took her inside and called our vet. They said to bring her right in and they would give (sell) me a formula for it. They examined her(they told me that one) found her to be healthy but hungry. The techs taught me how to bottle feed her and how to prepare the formula. They pre-scheduled all of her vet visits for the upcoming months at important points in her development. To make a long story tolerable, she grew up to be a housecat and was named "Putt". The whole thing was labor and love intensive and was one of the best life lessons I could ever have.
Winnie is the cutest. Thank you Amberley and Austin (and Fousts) for rescuing the tiny fuzz. My 3 year old watched this with me and continuously kept saying “awww, so cute”

Me too - I try not to judge but if one of them had a life-threatening illness would the others just stand by and "Let nature take its course"???

Mistaking the sex of a baby kitten is not unusual, I think. I had absolutely decided not to get another cat after my cat passed away. And then a friend posted a picture of an irate kitten in a cage on Facebook. A stray had had a litter and once they were weaned she and a neighbor were catching them and finding them homes so they wouldn't be strays also. I said if you can't find anybody else, I'll take the kitten so he doesn't go to the animal shelter. She said, "I'll bring him over on Friday 😊". Okey doke. I named him Vincent (after Van Gogh). Then she took him to the vet with the kitten she was keeping and found out that while her kitten was, indeed, a boy, mine was not. SHE got renamed Agatha (after Christie) on the fly.
Agatha was somewhat feral when she first arrived and after escaping from the bathroom, disappeared into my apartment for four months. I knew she was there because at night when I was sleeping she'd eat her food, drink her water, reprocess same into the litter box, and move her toys around. It was like having a ghost cat. I began to wonder if it hadn't been a mistake to name her after a writer who famously went missing for a time. 😅. Eventually she started letting me see her at a distance and finally she made friends with my feet. 😊 She is a normal half-standoffish/half-affectionate cat now. 😁 She demands attention on her own time and on her own terms.
