Level 14 in particular is a somewhat extreme jump in difficulty for the Sand, but also pretty much the first time you are FORCED to have a significant amount of automated production. I don't think this is a bad thing (it is a factory game after all!) but it definitely is where the gloves come off. Don't worry, it's not as difficulty as it may seem (especially watch the last few minutes if you don't like Diesel production!)
agreed, lots of "negative" reviews from people about getting rid of the sand - at this stage of the game, you should be able to automate and mass produce and it was fun to figure it out through a combination of online research and experimenting in-game
The biggest problem I had with the sesamite plant line was all the excess plantmatter and shiverthorn gel. There's a crusher recipe you can research that can deal with the plantmatter and turn it directly into bricks, but I have multiple boxes full of gel with nothing to use it on. It takes a paltry amount of it to supply the sesamite gel you need for everything and more, and threshing it for raw coolant is weirdly slow (especially compared to the advanced shiverthorn recipe setup). Any ideas other than just throwing it in a box and forgetting about it?
You say "copy and paste the entire layout" ... have I completely missed some form of blueprinting or copy-paste for clusters of machines, belts, and inserters? please tell me I missed something ...
nope u gotta do the manual method.. you can do a quick copy by left-clicking on a machine which will also copy the selected recipe of an assembler at least. Sometimes it breaks though
Figure of speech i'm afraid, you'll have to build it manually ;) But as TheFenrir said, it's not that much work as you can copy buildings including their recipe.
Also on floor 11 in the sketch map you will see what looks like a house you can get all high end drill bits there and unlock 7
I had no idea, thanks for pointing that out!
@ no problem man glad was able to help.
You can stack sand pumps on top of each other and you can pull items out of a line going down or up.
I'm glad someone pointed this out to TDA.

@@TheDutchActuary Ah well. Was hoping, but on the other hand, it would be a little embarrassing for me to have missed this over the time I've played.
