    A Correction in what I said about the Access Code. Custom access code: Choose a word that represents the overall Adventure experience. This word becomes part of the unique URL and QR code that allows you to direct players to the Adventure. Then select ‘Create Adventure.’ Sorry if there was any confusion in that.

    Thanks for this video, it helped while I created my AL. Now can you do a segment on how to get a notification when someone completes the lab or where to see their comments. I made my AL and after a week I was not notified that anyone had done it. So curious I went into it thinking maybe I didn't have it live, but here someone had gotten it. I can see their final comment but not their comment after each location....any suggestions?? Am I supposed to turn something on to get notifications?? Thanks again for the video!

    • @BehindtheCache
      @BehindtheCache  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      They don’t leave comments after each location on after they have completed the entire adventure. HQ has not set up the notifications once someone has completed it. Right now the only way is to check on the activity now and then. In the builder there is a place to see who and what stages someone has done even if they do not complete the entire adventure. I hope HQ will set up the notifications soon.

    Your video is very helpful . I have created my first AL and when tested it looks good. But. When I put together the locations I did not have any order so the participants could start anywhere, but the AL has it moving in the order I set it up in. I went back into the edit mode, moved the slide to in order then moved it back to no order but still the Lab goes in order of locations. Any thoughts? Thank you.

    • @BehindtheCache
      @BehindtheCache  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It maybe just listing them in the order you put them in. When the finder goes to do it what ever location they are closest too may show up first once they start the adventure. The first location or what you set as the main location is what showed up on the AL map. Mine is set not to do in order as well.

    I made a video on my phone, so how do you transfer it to TH-cam? Do you need an account? Is it free?
    Thanks for all your help

      @BehindtheCache  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes you need to have a google account. And yes it is free to have a TH-cam channel. You can just upload it there and you can have the video as unlisted or public but not private. It is really easy to set up.

    I like the idea of the private ALs at a hospital.
    Did you miss the part of them being sequential or non-sequential? Maybe I didn't catch it if you mentioned it
    I was finishing up my second AL last night while listening to the Caching in the Northwest crew talk about ALs... and now I have watched your video on ALs. It's AL Fever!!

    • @BehindtheCache
      @BehindtheCache  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Your right I forgot to make that point in the video. I think that was in one take but it wasn’t in the one I used. I didn’t want mine to be in a particular order because it was spread out some and there was no reason why they couldn’t do it as they visit different parts of the city. Thanks for bringing up that point.

    Really useful video to help me get started, thank you!
    So, now I’ve finished writing my Ad Lab, can I do a walkthrough on my phone without it being live to the public? Do I turn the green ‘on’ button on, and set it to private? Does this allow me access through the phone app, so I can test it ‘at the location’ rather than just on my PC....?? 🤔

    • @BehindtheCache
      @BehindtheCache  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can keep it on test there is a QR code that you can scan on the computer and you can go to the location and test it. If you set it to private and test it. It could show you as the FTF in the stats.

    Hey Derek!
    I've got one important question: if I edit the text that is shown when you answer a question correctly after the adventure has been published for a while, e.g. I add information for a bonus cache, can those people who completed the adventure before see those changes? Otherwise the first finders had not the opportunity to find the bonus cache

    • @BehindtheCache
      @BehindtheCache  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That is a good question. I believe they could. I remember doing the Adventure Lab here down Beale Street and after I had completed it he updated and put pictures on the Journal part and I could see those. So I would say yes the finders would just have to come back and look.

I got the app and noticed there are alot of adventure caches in Houston, even in my city. So we are going to play them this week end. So can you get the app from the email on the lap top email and make the adventure lab cache from that?

      Yes you get the link to the builder from the email. I built mine on my computer and tested it with my phone from my desk before I made it live. If you have hidden a cache before it is fairly easy to build it. Don't let it be intimidating,

    How far apart is your journey. I’m thinking of doing an adventure around a local forest but I’m unsure of my angle. It might be a bit of a mashup. Cannock chase where I live is the most haunted forest in the uk, also has strange creature sightings and even a ufo sighting. The problem is there are no information boards or plaques to state what happened at each location. How would I ask a question if I take them to known sightings hotspots. Another idea, the forest was used as a training camp during the war and there are relics still behind, again no information to ask a question from, any ideas. Plus there was heavy coal mining in the area.

    • @BehindtheCache
      @BehindtheCache  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Flowerpot man from Graceland to the locations is about a 15-20 min drive. The others you have to drive to as well you can’t park at one location and walk to them all. Could you do it like a earthcache and they have to see the surrounding area.

    Hi!^^ At first, i have to say it's a great video. Thank you for uploading such good content. And second, i have many question!
    1. How many location can you add to your adventure? does it have a limit of them?
    2. How far away could the location be to each other? Like, if I create an adventure could I put a location in Seattle and an another one in Portland in the same adventure? or does it have a limit of range between the locations on the same adventure?
    3. And finally, Could you choose all your location to be the starting point? or do you have to choose just one?
    For exemple you want to create an adventure lab like to do a roadtrip and anybody could start the adventure on his/her own town. One of them could start at Seattle and an other one could start the adventure in Portland!
    I know there is many questions but i wanted your feeling about this and answer to know if this project could be a thing^^

    • @BehindtheCache
      @BehindtheCache  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1.They are usually 5 locations.
      2.They can be far a part from each other there is not a limit that I am aware of. 3. You can make it so you can start anywhere. It may show that the starting location is in Seattle but you can start anywhere. It is considered 1 adventure so 1 start. I hope this helps if you have anymore questions or want to talk more my email is derek@behindthecache.com
