Well, I wouldn't conclude anything from this...only that you all had a wonderful time😉... which is totally OK. Negative points for certain cars are more connected with driver's mistakes, and mounted tyres. My "feeling" is that Jimny seems most capable and both of those two stalls happened by driver's mistake (second one seems to be related with ice polished part of the tracks where he couldn't get enough grip. GLC's driver seems to have handled the car within the limits and used torque, grip and car's capabilities to the best 👍
agree, also place where Dacia lost first point, driver chose the inner side of the curve which was steepest to climb and in second time the outer curve, which went fine, just like the other 2 cars. But for sure you guys had fun on the road :)
I knew from the beginning the winner. GLC cost 3 times the other cars, which means much more technology on board. It's not the pilot, its the all the stuff behind, electronic torque and grip control that makes the difference, as well as the weight
@@cosedan your answer is pretty much nonsense.. the most important thing is the tyres, second thing is weight of the car, the heavier it is, the more difficult it will be to climb as you need more grip. These tests should be always done as similar conditions as possible, same tyres, same climbing speed in the beginning, same driver etc.. greetings from Finland with 30+ years driving experience in snow and ice.. here another video where Dacia basically beating Audi Q7 - price difference is? I agree, there are some trails where the Mercedes wouldn't dare to enter, and if the Duster enters, it will get bogged, but the Jimny would still be rolling on. And for the price of the Duster you can buy 2 or 3 Jimnies, and for the price of the Mercedes I don't even want to do the maths. So after all you are more brave to enter rough trails with the Jimny and it will give you much more fun offroad.
Just went for a test drive with a Duster today. I just might buy one, seemed just fine. Tested it to 145km/h and I must say that it is definately not as noisy as all the reviews say.

The Duster driver wasn't really doing his best, the Jimny looks like the most capable car and the driver only made a couple of mistakes, the Mercedes was having a hard time with its "fake" awd but the driver was able to exploit its potential to the fullest.
That's what I ask myself. If the driver of the Duster had chosen the most logical path, he would have done just as well as the Mercedes. But he preferred to play the idiot and was too clever. The Duster is beast ....its a law unto itself in snow and mud .....my friend has the 2022 entry level model front wheel drive ...where we live there is a long steep hill to get up into our street .....last year we had quite heavy snowfall and nothing makes it up this hill in snow ..there was all sorts of " all wheel drive" model cars stuck at the bottom ...my friends 2 wheel drive Duster flew up this hill like it was nothing ..amazing cars..

Torque - very important! (Nm) and divided by weight (Nm/kg), 3. Pressure on the ground (weight divided by area of tires (kg/cm2). GLS have for sure the biggest power and torque. Can the author of the video give these parameters? Each hill should be overtaken in different order (the 1st car can make it slippery on the hill, and the 2nd and 3rd car will have more problems. Or in the muddy ground - the 1st car have the easiest way). And very important - the drivers should not see how the previous driver conquered the hill, because when the first did something wrong - the second one will not do the same mistake. In this video Duster was mostly the 1st one, GLC second, Jimny 3rd.

GLC is the worst in deep snow. All the attemps were following the trails, never in real deep fresh snow. On the trail it works really good thanks to the electronic aids. Surprisingly the 15.000€ Duster wins a 60.000€ GLC in deep snow indeed.

As impressive als the GLC did, considering its weight and lack of ground clearance, on the really icy parts you do see its limits. Weight is never good, when going abroad. So, why not show some curvy downhill passages, where the GLC has to show its breaking/slipping/sliding behaviour? The Duster does pretty well and shows that it will do the job for a typical ski holiday. The Jimny - did the driver activate the locks in time?!?! I am aware that an ESC/ESP + the many steps of the GLC transmission + torque can handle driving off the steep part somewhat more sensible, than 100% locked tires + 1 fixed gears + playing with the clutch. But the latter one should work without overheating or extra maintenance over many years in even more bad situations, especially when using offroad tires, that are probably not even available/allowed for the GLC (due to tempo limitations). So, this test is a nice show-off, but of limited message. If some rich family from town goes on winter holiday, the GLC is a perfect tradeoff, but the Duster will do, if the driver knows how to handle it.
@@zepter00 Power cannot replace low weight, when going offroad. The moment, a vehicle loses grip, it doesn't matter whether it got 100hp or 300hp. But the car with 2200kg will start slipping when the 1300kg still goes on (with comparable tires and dimensions)
how unfair can you make something if you do such a test you have to make them ALL DO THE SAME AND NOT DRIVE THE JIMMY AND DUSTER THROUGH THE SNOW AND THE GLC ON THE ROAD
A 4x4 is not a 4WD offroader ! Driving a 4x4 and on of the front or rear tire will spinn, you will have no traction an the car get stopped. The mercedes with al lot of elektronic is lead you to believe driving a 4WD. If the electronic fails it is like to drive a 4x4 !! Spinning die weels is the worst idea to drive thrue snow (10:00) you will immediately loos traction. Low gear, low speed, low tire pressur is best (14.40) !!!!!! And if you have no clearance your car will stuck in the snow even with a 4WD.
Not a good comparison...cars are driven differently, and they are taking different tracks in the ground. GLC is being driven with a steady foot always, and it is the driver competence that is giving it the edge..not the machine itself. The mechanics of friction and differential physics is basic technology....money does not obviate optimum engineering.
A good comparison is to use same producer and model of the tire for this cars. otherwise is not a comparison but a waste of time. sau pe scurt un romanism

Jimny się capable only in forest off road. Car is close to beeing usless on highway and in the fast city driving

I have the GLE 350de. Its superb.

@@VirgilPascu yes it has in the Dynamic select option. Lifts the air suspension, gearbox setup etc. Dont know if you can get full offroad package.

Change the bad Riken tyre for some good premium winter tyre.
Cheaper winter tires can perform Beger n snow than premium. For example Dębica are driving on snow like a tank.

Aici te contrazic Nu în școlile de șoferi se preda.Cu toate că ar trebui sa se predea Aceste chestia se învață la Academia Titi Aur Unde in urma unor taxe,se învață tot ce trebuie sa ști de conducerea pe zăpadă.Si nu numai.Si in special este vorba de conducerea defensiva.Daca aceste chestii ar fi predate în școlile de șoferi(cum ar fi normal),multe accidente ar fi evitate.Din păcate mulți instructori nu știu nici pt ei,ce sa m-ai predea și la alții În cadrul acestei academii înveți cum sa efectuezi corect o frana de motor,,cum sa desenezi cu ABS și fără,cum sa redresezi o mașină care a intrat în derapaj(subtitrare sau suoravurare)și ținând cont de construcția masinn-tractiune fara,tracțiune spate,integrala Iar la tracțiunea integrală ar fi mai multe de discutat în funcție de tipul acesteia.

Așa că majoritatea instructorilor ar trebui să meargă la cursuri de reciclare și pe urma să învețe pe altii

GLC is the worst in deep snow. All the attemps were following the trails, never in real deep fresh snow. On the trail it works really good thanks to the electronic aids. Surprisingly the 15.000€ Duster wins a 60.000€ GLC in deep snow indeed.

The duster driver gives te trothel to the engine, thats wy his front weels to mutch revolutions In the snow
My advice give de trothel little, slide you to the back give you Just a little more power to the weels (EASY)
Looks like the Jimny only had M+S tyres on not winters. That will be the difference.

As impressive als the GLC did, considering its weight and lack of ground clearance, on the really icy parts you do see its limits. Weight is never good, when going abroad. So, why not show some curvy downhill passages, where the GLC has to show its breaking/slipping/sliding behaviour?
The Duster does pretty well and shows that it will do the job for a typical ski holiday.
The Jimny - did the driver activate the locks in time?!?! I am aware that an ESC/ESP + the many steps of the GLC transmission + torque can handle driving off the steep part somewhat more sensible, than 100% locked tires + 1 fixed gears + playing with the clutch. But the latter one should work without overheating or extra maintenance over many years in even more bad situations, especially when using offroad tires, that are probably not even available/allowed for the GLC (due to tempo limitations).
So, this test is a nice show-off, but of limited message. If some rich family from town goes on winter holiday, the GLC is a perfect tradeoff, but the Duster will do, if the driver knows how to handle it.

@@zepter00 Power cannot replace low weight, when going offroad. The moment, a vehicle loses grip, it doesn't matter whether it got 100hp or 300hp. But the car with 2200kg will start slipping when the 1300kg still goes on (with comparable tires and dimensions)

A 4x4 is not a 4WD offroader ! Driving a 4x4 and on of the front or rear tire will spinn, you will have no traction an the car get stopped. The mercedes with al lot of elektronic is lead you to believe driving a 4WD. If the electronic fails it is like to drive a 4x4 !! Spinning die weels is the worst idea to drive thrue snow (10:00) you will immediately loos traction. Low gear, low speed, low tire pressur is best (14.40) !!!!!! And if you have no clearance your car will stuck in the snow even with a 4WD.

Not a good comparison...cars are driven differently, and they are taking different tracks in the ground. GLC is being driven with a steady foot always, and it is the driver competence that is giving it the edge..not the machine itself. The mechanics of friction and differential physics is basic technology....money does not obviate optimum engineering.
Just paid 50k for my GLC and it gets a beating by a Dacia?
Do not worry.If by any chance you will hit something you will be happy to be in a GLC.Not the other cars.

The 5th test is wrong. the GLC doesn't drive in the same way that duster and jimmy. if GLC try to drive inside the turn, is stay on place
