I finally got my bugs 3 yesterday and omg it's so fast. I love it. Bought the converter cord you recommended and now I have 3 batteries for it. The batteries are from my PROMARK p70. 7.4 2000mah I think that is a common size for a few drones. Also I accidently locked the motors up at over 150 feet and it fell out of the sky. Ended up landing right side up and I just took off and it only out some songs in the props where they hit the prop guards. This thing scares me because it's so fast. Thank you so much for all your info. It's because of you I bought my bugs 3.
Decided to ditch my MJX X102H (I hate that quad lol) and bought Bugs 3 and I immediately love this bird since it's first takeoff, so much power yet so smooth and precise and with only $56 in my country (Indonesia), you can't beat that. Best decision ever

Love your reviews. I have flown my Bug to the limit warning several times and still had control I think this warning must come on when you are getting close to your limit. Another awesome feature about this awesome quad.
I've a couple of guys tell me that when theirs beep to warn of low signal, the quad landed! I've never tested it, not that brave yet!!! Thanks for sharing that info. DJ Soul Force

Yes, you can flip the picture by using an online configuration tool to adjust settings. It has a built-in rechargable battery, not sure if it's replaceable or not, but mine hasn't failed me yet, after two years of use! Good luck, thanks for watching.

HOLY CRAP! Just looked at the "specs" for the new Bugs 2 GPS from your links. Banggood selling for $139.99 and it has 1-2 Km advertised range AND it looks like it has altitude and distance telemetry readout on the tx LCD. Downside is it has the same crappy 2S 1800 mAh LiPo battery. But DAMN! We're all gonna have to lie like a rug to Santa about how good we've been to get this under the Christmas tree this year.
As always a very good video DJ. I originally bought the black version and I just ordered the red one three days ago. On another subject, I have a question about the P3S. I did the new firmware update and now my gps is turned off and I am not getting the safe to fly signal. Do I have to plug it in to the computer to turn it on or is there another way of doing it?
I'm not aware of any procedure to turn on/off the GPS on the P3 Standard except for the toggle switches. Try uninstalling the DJI Go App from your mobile device and re-install it. (that should make all of your settings go back to default) Let me know how it goes. Good luck bro.
Another great video! Man you crack me up. I took your advice and got this one for $84 and man I'm glad I did. The Bugs 3 is by far the best "toy" grade quad in my fleet. And like you say the only thing that's toy about it is the TX and that's just because of it's cheap plastic case not it's functions. The only thing that I would disagree with you about are the speeds. She's got 2 speeds, fast and faster. :)
Looks like your having a blast LOL. Bugs 3 seems to be the "go to" quad for just having fun. Really curious what the next generation will bring - altitude hold, follow me...So many choices that you don't know exactly when to pull the trigger. Great video - as usual.
It's pretty obvious that you "love the Bugs", and rightfully so. Good flier for sure. I had to check out all your links, and the Bugs 2 and 8 look interesting, especially the "racer" 8. I'll be waiting for your 1st Bugs 3 with Mobius Mini video. Every time I watch one of your Bugs videos, I want to take a sledge hammer to my Syma X8 to give me a reason to go out and buy one .. ha ha (except that I just bought 2 new Syma X8 batteries ... which I supposed I could use on the Bugs 3). I guess if I want to fly a fast brushless quad and burn holes in the sky, I can always take up one of my FPV racers ... and fly them LOS. Always a good day when I have one of your videos to start it off .. Cheers!

Hey, Soul! Thanks for demonstration. I remember your XK X250 review a while ago. At last year I heavily modded my X250 (transmitter, camera, FPV camera, batteries, motors, F3/BetaFlight/Acro, even brushless motors :) ). But thing reached his limits. I see that Bugs 3 is a cool machine to continue, because it is both fast and can lift action cameras which X250 can't (nothing to blame - that thing wasn't intended to do that). And most serious reason - it have brushless motors that doesn't break at every second week as brushed 8250's at frequent use do. Seems I should think about upgrade to this one :)

This quad blows the doors (or blades) off the x251!!! The Bugs 3 is a much better buy, considering the price, its size and power. The Bugs 3 is modular, making it very easy to modify and repair if necessary. Many parts available and can use other batteries. That 808 keychain camera does a better job on the Bugs 3 than some quads costing 3 times as much even with a gimbal. I might add they can't fly that fast either! :)
I love when you fly the BUGS! I need to follow your lead and get rid of the long landing legs and 3S battery. And I like your camera set-up, I will be trying that also. Off subject: I think they will announce the DJI Spark on Monday, that name could change but it's DJI selfie quad. Could be a much better Yuneec Breeze. And resellers have started dropping the price on the Zerotech Debby, making way for the Dobby 2 in June. This could be a busy summer for smaller quads.

I recommend equal to stock or a little lower to help preserve your ESC's. I don't recommend using a 3s battery for "all day, everyday" flying, just occasional use. I've gotten quite a few reports of guys burnning up their ESC's. Good luck, thanks for watching.
I recall someone commenting on a quad vid that they added some insulation of a type on the 808 because of rf noise from their 808 affecting range. don't have the link. I'll have to get an 808. I stocked up on OB ( original bugs ) and have 4. love it.
I think it was the older 808 Camera that had RF noise, no problems with mine (808 #18). I just ordered another Bugs 3 also, LoL... "stocking up!" too funny. Thanks for watching.
DJ, there's something special about a favorite, even if I had a Mavic I would still take my favorite WLtoysV222 quad along with me to fly just for the pure joy of having it soar through the sky.

I don't know for sure but I'm guessing the "Standard" B2W will only have fpv video on the app whereas the "Professional" will have advanced functions like follow me on the app and possibly better control range. We'll wait and see the official specs, hopefully it arrives around early May this year.

I finally ordered a bugs 3 but it's my son's birthday present, he thinks I'm getting him a little mini quad he is gonna love this bad boy. Looks like I'll be flying my x8c a little bit longer till I get my b3 or b2w. I got the bugs on ebay for 65 bucks.
LoL! You should have bought two at that price... one for you & one for the son! hahaha!!! Actually, I got into flying quads after buying the Syma X5-c for one of my sons who only flew it once or twice, so I decided to confiscate it and I started flying it myself... the rest is history!!! POW!!!

Hey DJ Soul Force, I like your videos and gain inspiration from you man! I personally am a big MJX fan as well. Do you think the Bugs 6 is a good 'beginner quad' for actual beginners to the racing drone scene? Man! I crashed that baby a few times on the initial flight. Have a Bugs 2 as well. Have you tried the batteries from the B6 in the B2? I think it works alright, but can't give it a full test tonight cuz it's raining as usual in Ireland.
Yes, I think the Bugs 6 is a great FPV/Racer trainner. Don't feel bad, I've crashed mine many, many times (since my initial flight), but it's a tough bird and can take it! While flying FPV, I suggest using your own goggles and not the MJX glasses. The Bugs 6 battery will work on the Bugs 2, however, the battery is too wide to fit in the battery bay, but you can hang it under the bottom of the quad. The Bugs 3 will battery fit inside the Bugs 2 battery bay and is a nice alternative to buying Bugs 2 stock batteries. Good luck, thanks for watching and your questions!!!

I have contacted them but as far as calling on the phone, forget it you'll be sitting for a few hours. I did leave a message and going got a robot message which had nothing to do with the item. I did a claim through PayPal on the transaction. I'll have to wait to see if Banggood or GearBest can do something on the Bugs they are better on shipping and transactions.

Yes, I have rigged up a FPV system that I can use on the Bugs 3 and my other quads. I'm using the Eachine TX03 All-in-one FPV/transmitter & camera plus an old WLToys monitor I had laying around. DJ thanks for the BUGS info. :) I have two of these insects. I fly one of them via FPV with small all in one camera mount in its nose. The other one nose dived into a deep H20 mud puddle(signal loss) so is out of commission at this time. ouch
The Bugs series of quadcopters are all very good. The Bugs 3 is (and will be) one of my "all time favorites" for it's class (manual operated sport quads). And of course, the Bugs 2C is a GPS camera bird, so you'll have to decide. Check my channel for my recent review of the Bugs 2C and more Bugs 3 videos, to include a few videos with the Bugs 3 with the RunCam HD camera or the Mobius Mini attached. will have to watch your review of the 2c,yeah I prefer the 2c,seems to have a bigger range,GPS,and telemetry in the remote showing altitude and distance from start point.Alot slower though compared to the bugs 3.Not many places have the 2c for sale yet though,and not sure on UK price,reckon it could be £200.Still ,going by all the positive reviews for both the bugs 2 and 3,looks like MJX could have a huge hit on their hands

For a first quad, I suggest a toy grade for learning. This Syma X8HG is great for learning aerial photography and comes with a pretty decent camera - th-cam.com/video/FktbBrWLcOM/w-d-xo.html, or if you're looking for an easy to fly, top end, hobby grade quad, I suggest the Phantom 3 Standard (or higher). ACES on the Go < I think the last time there was a crew like the B3FC, they were called the Black Sheep Squadron. I'm thinking about upgrading my esc's to 35 amp. But... even so, you can get replacement OEM esc's for the Bugs pretty cheap. I've noticed my Bugs is starting to yaw left, all on its own, after doing a long (500 m) speed run. Any of you guys seeing this? I have 2 bugs. Both of them do this. Tried all quad/controller combos. Transmitter beep comes on when signal is WEAK. When it starts to actually LOSE signal, you will start to see the Bugs jerk back to level flight sporadically, even though you are pitched forward. Want to know what happens when the signal is gone altogether? Fly your Bugs out away from you about 30 feet, staying about 2 feet off the ground. Hover, and turn off the transmitter. Or, just take my word for it..... count... "one thousand one... one thousand two"... yup.... it turns into a brick.
Yeah, code was only good for one...I tried. Code also went away minutes after I bought mine, so I felt lucky to get it. Just came in today and charged the battery, hoping to catch enough gap in rain to test it after work.
Damn , weird pop up storm cell took my Bugs 3 the other week. I was really bummed. I should know better than to fly when they're calling for pop up thunderstorms. Sometimes the jones to fly overcomes good sense.

I think so. As I said in this video, I don't recommend 3S for "all day, everyday flying!" The Bugs3 can use 3s, but it was designed and is most compatible for 2S. If you don't burn up an ESC, it's gonna shake itself apart!!! LoL!!!

Don't use a 3S battery since your are running over voltage from 7.4 vdc to 11.1 vdc. I suspect the judder in the quads running the higher voltage LiPo is caused by the regulators trying to regulate the voltage and amperage drawn from the ESCs. The VRs are there for a reason and don't use S3s. You want a quad to show fireworks just run the 3s batteries when a cell shorts out on the quad while flying it and be sure to do it when it's night time! :)
I got mine in the mail a couple weeks ago and have been having fun with her. Got an adapter off eBay so I can use my Syma X8 batteries and getting 15 minutes of flight time and running a camera getting 10 mins of video powered from the mother board. I am using the JXD 506G camera on it and it's plug and play with control from the remote. Works great. Check out my latest sunset video I did with the Bugs and the Jxd Camera. Loving the stock range and altitude. A little dot way up in the sky. )))
Cool idea with the JXD camera, I'll have to check that out. I took the camera off my JXD 506 and was about to toss it, but I'll give it a try on the Bugs 3. On the 506-g it was "jello city!" I'm about to check out your video, thanks.
I fly mostly for video shots so mine are slow moving (usually trim driven) and get smooth video, but yeah at the higher speed of the Bugs jello may be an issue.
Dronography I have a 506 G and I snapped the big plastic drive gear. Having a hell of a time getting a replacement. They keep sending me the wrong gear. Is there a replacement gear that will work from another quad. It's a wall hanger again lmao
River - That's going to be a tough part to find. Try searching "JXD 506" on AliExpress.com. Sometimes you get lucky and find "hard to find" parts there! Good luck.
If you are talking about one that goes at the motor, No I haven't found a replacement. But I have also not found a shell replacement either and my top shell is destroyed, but the bottom maintained. Go figure. But I am moving the internals to a Syma X8 body and using their sprockets and shafts. So I will have a bottom shell and 3 good corners if you want to get them from me I can create a ebay listing or you can hit me up on facebook. (if you are interested) I aint looking to get rich, just basically cover shipping plus fees. Just let me know.
I take that back, I found the blue version on "Jay Drone" channel. He bought it on Amazon, but it cost a few more bucks!!! It also has another name brand name on it, but it's the same quad... nice looking too!

Love your reviews. I have flown my Bug to the limit warning several times and still had control I think this warning must come on when you are getting close to your limit. Another awesome feature about this awesome quad.

Yes, you can flip the picture by using an online configuration tool to adjust settings. It has a built-in rechargable battery, not sure if it's replaceable or not, but mine hasn't failed me yet, after two years of use! Good luck, thanks for watching.

HOLY CRAP! Just looked at the "specs" for the new Bugs 2 GPS from your links. Banggood selling for $139.99 and it has 1-2 Km advertised range AND it looks like it has altitude and distance telemetry readout on the tx LCD. Downside is it has the same crappy 2S 1800 mAh LiPo battery. But DAMN! We're all gonna have to lie like a rug to Santa about how good we've been to get this under the Christmas tree this year.

As always a very good video DJ. I originally bought the black version and I just ordered the red one three days ago. On another subject, I have a question about the P3S. I did the new firmware update and now my gps is turned off and I am not getting the safe to fly signal. Do I have to plug it in to the computer to turn it on or is there another way of doing it?
I'm not aware of any procedure to turn on/off the GPS on the P3 Standard except for the toggle switches. Try uninstalling the DJI Go App from your mobile device and re-install it. (that should make all of your settings go back to default) Let me know how it goes. Good luck bro.
Another great video! Man you crack me up. I took your advice and got this one for $84 and man I'm glad I did. The Bugs 3 is by far the best "toy" grade quad in my fleet. And like you say the only thing that's toy about it is the TX and that's just because of it's cheap plastic case not it's functions. The only thing that I would disagree with you about are the speeds. She's got 2 speeds, fast and faster. :)

It's pretty obvious that you "love the Bugs", and rightfully so. Good flier for sure. I had to check out all your links, and the Bugs 2 and 8 look interesting, especially the "racer" 8. I'll be waiting for your 1st Bugs 3 with Mobius Mini video. Every time I watch one of your Bugs videos, I want to take a sledge hammer to my Syma X8 to give me a reason to go out and buy one .. ha ha (except that I just bought 2 new Syma X8 batteries ... which I supposed I could use on the Bugs 3). I guess if I want to fly a fast brushless quad and burn holes in the sky, I can always take up one of my FPV racers ... and fly them LOS. Hey, Soul! Thanks for demonstration. I remember your XK X250 review a while ago. At last year I heavily modded my X250 (transmitter, camera, FPV camera, batteries, motors, F3/BetaFlight/Acro, even brushless motors :) ). But thing reached his limits. I see that Bugs 3 is a cool machine to continue, because it is both fast and can lift action cameras which X250 can't (nothing to blame - that thing wasn't intended to do that). And most serious reason - it have brushless motors that doesn't break at every second week as brushed 8250's at frequent use do. Seems I should think about upgrade to this one :)

This quad blows the doors (or blades) off the x251!!! The Bugs 3 is a much better buy, considering the price, its size and power. The Bugs 3 is modular, making it very easy to modify and repair if necessary. Many parts available and can use other batteries. That 808 keychain camera does a better job on the Bugs 3 than some quads costing 3 times as much even with a gimbal.

I love when you fly the BUGS! I need to follow your lead and get rid of the long landing legs and 3S battery. And I like your camera set-up, I will be trying that also. Off subject: I think they will announce the DJI Spark on Monday, that name could change but it's DJI selfie quad. Could be a much better Yuneec Breeze. And resellers have started dropping the price on the Zerotech Debby, making way for the Dobby 2 in June. This could be a busy summer for smaller quads.

Hi when flying on 3s. Do you recommend a pack with a higher "c" rating or lower?.
I recommend equal to stock or a little lower to help preserve your ESC's. I don't recommend using a 3s battery for "all day, everyday" flying, just occasional use. I've gotten quite a few reports of guys burnning up their ESC's. Good luck, thanks for watching.
I recall someone commenting on a quad vid that they added some insulation of a type on the 808 because of rf noise from their 808 affecting range. don't have the link. I'll have to get an 808. I stocked up on OB ( original bugs ) and have 4. love it.
I think it was the older 808 Camera that had RF noise, no problems with mine (808 #18). I just ordered another Bugs 3 also, LoL... "stocking up!" too funny. Thanks for watching.

I finally ordered a bugs 3 but it's my son's birthday present, he thinks I'm getting him a little mini quad he is gonna love this bad boy. Looks like I'll be flying my x8c a little bit longer till I get my b3 or b2w. I got the bugs on ebay for 65 bucks.

Hey DJ Soul Force, I like your videos and gain inspiration from you man! I personally am a big MJX fan as well. Do you think the Bugs 6 is a good 'beginner quad' for actual beginners to the racing drone scene? Man! I crashed that baby a few times on the initial flight. Have a Bugs 2 as well. Have you tried the batteries from the B6 in the B2? I think it works alright, but can't give it a full test tonight cuz it's raining as usual in Ireland.
Yes, I think the Bugs 6 is a great FPV/Racer trainner. Don't feel bad, I've crashed mine many, many times (since my initial flight), but it's a tough bird and can take it! While flying FPV, I suggest using your own goggles and not the MJX glasses. The Bugs 6 battery will work on the Bugs 2, however, the battery is too wide to fit in the battery bay, but you can hang it under the bottom of the quad. The Bugs 3 will battery fit inside the Bugs 2 battery bay and is a nice alternative to buying Bugs 2 stock batteries. Good luck, thanks for watching and your questions!!!

DJ thanks for the BUGS info. :) I have two of these insects. I fly one of them via FPV with small all in one camera mount in its nose. The other one nose dived into a deep H20 mud puddle(signal loss) so is out of commission at this time. ouch

The Bugs series of quadcopters are all very good. The Bugs 3 is (and will be) one of my "all time favorites" for it's class (manual operated sport quads). And of course, the Bugs 2C is a GPS camera bird, so you'll have to decide. Check my channel for my recent review of the Bugs 2C and more Bugs 3 videos, to include a few videos with the Bugs 3 with the RunCam HD camera or the Mobius Mini attached. Hey bro I am looking for a sweet first camera Quad. Any suggestions? This will be my first bird.
For a first quad, I suggest a toy grade for learning. This Syma X8HG is great for learning aerial photography and comes with a pretty decent camera - th-cam.com/video/FktbBrWLcOM/w-d-xo.html, or if you're looking for an easy to fly, top end, hobby grade quad, I suggest the Phantom 3 Standard (or higher). I'm thinking about upgrading my esc's to 35 amp. But... even so, you can get replacement OEM esc's for the Bugs pretty cheap.
I've noticed my Bugs is starting to yaw left, all on its own, after doing a long (500 m) speed run.
Any of you guys seeing this? I have 2 bugs. Both of them do this. Tried all quad/controller combos.
Transmitter beep comes on when signal is WEAK. When it starts to actually LOSE signal, you will start to see the Bugs jerk back to level flight sporadically, even though you are pitched forward. Want to know what happens when the signal is gone altogether? Fly your Bugs out away from you about 30 feet, staying about 2 feet off the ground. Hover, and turn off the transmitter. Or, just take my word for it..... count... "one thousand one... one thousand two"... yup.... it turns into a brick.
Caught a coupon deal on the Bugs 3 for $59...gets here tomorrow.

Yeah, code was only good for one...I tried. Code also went away minutes after I bought mine, so I felt lucky to get it. Just came in today and charged the battery, hoping to catch enough gap in rain to test it after work.
Damn , weird pop up storm cell took my Bugs 3 the other week. I was really bummed. I should know better than to fly when they're calling for pop up thunderstorms. Sometimes the jones to fly overcomes good sense.

Starting to see alot of bugs esc's burning up from using 3S batts.... 3S becoming a risk?
I think so. As I said in this video, I don't recommend 3S for "all day, everyday flying!" The Bugs3 can use 3s, but it was designed and is most compatible for 2S. If you don't burn up an ESC, it's gonna shake itself apart!!! LoL!!!

LoL!!! I just went ahead and bought a couple extra stock batteries for my Bugs 3. Thanks for the link.
Don't use a 3S battery since your are running over voltage from 7.4 vdc to 11.1 vdc. I suspect the judder in the
quads running the higher voltage LiPo is caused by the regulators trying to regulate the voltage and amperage
drawn from the ESCs. The VRs are there for a reason and don't use S3s. You want a quad to show fireworks
just run the 3s batteries when a cell shorts out on the quad while flying it and be sure to do it when it's night
time! :)
I got mine in the mail a couple weeks ago and have been having fun with her. Got an adapter off eBay so I can use my Syma X8 batteries and getting 15 minutes of flight time and running a camera getting 10 mins of video powered from the mother board. I am using the JXD 506G camera on it and it's plug and play with control from the remote. Works great. Check out my latest sunset video I did with the Bugs and the Jxd Camera. Loving the stock range and altitude. A little dot way up in the sky. )))
Cool idea with the JXD camera, I'll have to check that out. I took the camera off my JXD 506 and was about to toss it, but I'll give it a try on the Bugs 3. On the 506-g it was "jello city!" I'm about to check out your video, thanks.
I fly mostly for video shots so mine are slow moving (usually trim driven) and get smooth video, but yeah at the higher speed of the Bugs jello may be an issue.
Dronography I have a 506 G and I snapped the big plastic drive gear. Having a hell of a time getting a replacement. They keep sending me the wrong gear. Is there a replacement gear that will work from another quad. It's a wall hanger again lmao
River - That's going to be a tough part to find. Try searching "JXD 506" on AliExpress.com. Sometimes you get lucky and find "hard to find" parts there! Good luck.
If you are talking about one that goes at the motor, No I haven't found a replacement. But I have also not found a shell replacement either and my top shell is destroyed, but the bottom maintained. Go figure. But I am moving the internals to a Syma X8 body and using their sprockets and shafts. So I will have a bottom shell and 3 good corners if you want to get them from me I can create a ebay listing or you can hit me up on facebook. (if you are interested) I aint looking to get rich, just basically cover shipping plus fees. Just let me know.

I take that back, I found the blue version on "Jay Drone" channel. He bought it on Amazon, but it cost a few more bucks!!! It also has another name brand name on it, but it's the same quad... nice looking too!
