You don't NEED the power brick to run phantom power in all situations. I didn't use it for years running only one LDC microphone for example. I've found the performance is just more consistent. It gives the Duet headroom to run all of its functions so it is something I recommend.
aw man my OLED died on my duet years ago and ive been using it the same way you described for as long as its been dead. Apparently its a common issue and most likely a design error on their part. Other than hat I love the duet
Hi Jared! I love your video. I have a Firewire Duet, which I purchased second hand. It sounds AMAZING, but only 2 out of the 4 inputs work. Do you think replacing the breakout cables with a new set (of cables) is worth a shot? I'm desperate ova heeyah... thanks for your time. \m/
Hey there! Thanks for reaching out. Sounds like the breakout cable might be bad. I'd say try jiggling the cables while monitoring it to see if you can get intermittent signal. If you can, maybe try replacing the breakout cable first. Is it either both the XLR inputs or the 1/4" guitar inputs? or a mix of both
i have the same issue . first the led died and gave for service and then they made a component replacement and led died again soon after. i just dont wanna spend the same extra bucks likely to cause me same problem again which is not guaranteed. please let me know if there is any solution?
Hey Jared . I have apogee duet but he dont respond (not the screen, not the buttons and he dont respond in the computer) you know where i can buy a new panel for fix the problem? thank you !
Hi - you can send it in to Apogee and they will repair for a flat fee. Unfortunately sounds like a chip issue on the main board that becomes fried? I don't remember specifically what they said
Rad vid braddah, helps me troubleshoot my friends unit. mahalos from Hawaii.
Glad you found it helpful!

Hey Noam - I would try to get in touch with Apogee and possibly send them the unit. They will repair it for a flat fee regardless of the problem.
