Thanks for the inspiration! I Fixed mine with a new display and replaced the 2113A with a TPS2115APWR - I also had to perform a HW reset. It works again like a charm. It was a bit tricky because of my not so fine soldering tip ;) Cheers
Thanks for sharing! I'm eager to see how this turns out. I have a Duet 2 as well that has been slowly dying over the years. I'm hoping to learn how to fix, maybe even upgrade it (similar to what Black Lion Audio does).
Hey there, I received the IC last week and switch it. Guess what! It worked very well, I was stressed a little bit because of the small surface mount job so I decided I wouldn't record the process.
@@milankotevski1663 well now you have. It would power on instantly at times, then at other times it would take 10 minutes or more. It’s dead now. Looks like some of the components fried and/or leaked on the pcb board. RIP apogee duet 2.
Hey there! Any idea where I can buy a replacement rotary encoder or any part number for that? I have the apogee One and I reckon the part number is the same.
Else, you could also try with an equivalent Encoder 5 pins. Because there is that Push button included, don't forget that push button on the encoder! :P
Hi Phil thanks for this video! My Duet 2 is not working properly, I only use USB connection without power adapter been doing it for 8 years.. It connects to my Mac but sometimes just randomly disconnects, and when I’m trying to record with a mic most of the times I get no signals neither from input 1 or 2 phantom or no phantom. If I’m lucky I can record for 5-10 minutes before it starts glitching again. I’m not a tech guru so it’s a mystery to me. Do you have any idea what the problem might be? Many thanks!
It seems like a power issue. Enough power to keep the machine ON but it loose connection with the pc and the thing with the phantom power is also another indicator of power issue. Either the connector is intermittent or a capacitor getting old. You could try a firmware update first if there's any. Also, try another usb cable and another port of the pc, it could be the usb port from the PC.
@@ThePhilStudio thanks Phil, ive reached out to the folks at Apogee, but since you have this video, I’m comfortable working with you. Could you share your email with me?
@@ThePhilStudio where in Canada bro? My Apogee has lots of noise and hiss almost like radio static, which is proportional to gain. This is abnormal as I never faced this issue before and I use other interfaces and dont see the problem, hence I suspect the Apogee.🙏
@thephilstudio My Mac is not detecting my quartet. It was working fine for 2 years,it still turns on but it's not detected by my Imac after trying to update all the software and firmware??
I had a similar problem, and my repair guy in India repaired it. The issue is I do not use an external power supply and only use a USB. How did my IC get a short circuit? What are better practices I should adopt to keep my device safe and prevent such accidents in the future? I use an m1mac with a USB hub+ Apogge duet.
It feels like one of the connection pin on the USB port could be damaged? Or a buffer IC to protect the port communication. Pretty tough to diagnose without opening it.
Apogee are an absolute disgrace of a company, my older version duet had massive input signal issues and no product support; unless you’re an electronics wizard, DO NOT BUY APOGEE!!

I've never heard of an audio interface "dying slowly". It either works, or it doesn't.

Hola, cómo estás? Necesito saber cómo pedir el knob encoder para reemplazarlo? Gracias
Hola,
Supongo que lo mejor sería ponerse en contacto directamente con el fabricante para obtener una pieza de repuesto.

Have you tried on another computer? It could be a bad connection in the USB. Are you powering the device via a USB cable?

Gotta make sure your USB HUB is really stable and doesn't get unplugged or plugged accidently.
