We in Canada need to demand our government to make laws, banning these so called private colleges from spreading false information in india. There is no gurentee of PR, it is not a right. there is also a quota. Student visa is to study. If you want PR, then apply for proper PR visa which takes time and has specific requirements.

It's not only private colleges. It's private and public colleges. They had Memorandums of understanding, and through that, the students could get a Postgraduate Work Permit. Now, the government has cut this system off in Ontario. Students must do their due diligence as well. Students shouldn't come to a country if they cannot pay the full trution. That is what you signed up for. The crooked recruiters and immigration consultants are also to be blamed! They sell false hope to these students. What I find also is That Indian students are very entitled! No one told you to come here- if you cannot afford to live here, you can return home. Funny enough, it's their Indian citizens who own businesses who are ripping them off.

I live in mississauga Ontario and it has been significantly different in the last 10 years. Most teenagers can't get a part-time job because indian people take them all. People don't realize what it's like on the other side. Please go home. Ontario is basically a shit hole because of this influx of people who know nothing about Canada and don't care. Everyone is scared of being branded racist if they have these points of view. Go home because it was way better before you came here. By the way, There is no such thing as the Canadian dream. This isn't Canada anymore.

I understand and empathize with the students' situation, as I have been in their shoes many years ago. However, it seems that they are looking at their status from an immigration pathway or work pathway, while the main purpose of applying for a study permit is to come to Canada to study without any guarantees of immigration or employment. The student program is not an immigration pathway.

    • @galaxybane2166
      @galaxybane2166 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

While that is true, Canada has always needed to advertise immigration to students in order to be competitive with the US, UK and Australia. If the students knew they'd not get PR, students would never come to Canada to only study when there are several other better countries out there providing better weather, much better economy, and much better colleges. The fault is majorly with the Canadian colleges.
If we only want to get genuine students, perhaps we should ask our colleges to not advertise immigration? Unfortunately that would mean billions of dollars lost for the colleges so they'll likely continue advertising study as a pathway to immigration.

I worry for my children I hear so many stories of teenagers leaving high school and cannot find a job my son is 15 and he can't get a job at the local McDonald's because one race of people has taken it over women in their 30s and up it's honestly scary. They do not want to integrate with other races and they all stick together you never see South Asian Students with other races hanging out. One thing I loved about being Canadian was the inclusion of all races. That is not a thing when it comes to newcomers from India.

The international student program has brought great shame to the Punjabi community in Canada. Families that have been here for a long time are now lumped in with these bad apples. Not a week goes by without the arrest of a Punjabi international student on serious charges like drug smuggling, rape, murder, assault, etc, etc. They also bring bad social problems with them and do not respect the culture of Canada. Dont feel too bad for these students! Many know they are not coming to study and just want to scam the system so they get PR status in Canada. Even many Punjabi ppl want less immigration!

Of course, we should try and limit the number of visas. Send as many home as possible, but then at the same time, we shouldn't be too harsh to the ones who came here for a better life. They're nice people. They want to live here and they love Canada, so they travelled and they left their home to come here.
We shouldn't hate them, but we need to really fix immigration. Visas must be cut immediately.

  • @Theworldisafamily68

Gross negligence on all ends. Starting with the students who didn’t do ANY research before moving halfway across the world. As an international student from the same country these kids are from, I distinctly remember doing a bunch of research, speaking to admission departments, going to open houses, scouring the internet for information, looking at employment reports, speaking to alumni who were in industries I was targeting post graduation, planning my finances (and securing them) prior to coming. I also had to sit a global entrance test (think SAT, GMAT, GRE) and get a required score to even be considered. If you’re not doing even half of this, you’re not interested in studying, you’re here to circumvent the traditional path to PR and jump the line. The education consultants and the unscrupulous schools basically took advantage of kids that refused to do their homework before coming. We live with the consequences of our decisions in this world. If you’re from India you know this extremely well. I hope they make peace with their decisions, learn from them, and do things the right way instead of arm twisting a government which has no mandate to increase PRs given the state of this country and its people.

As a Punjabi myself, and as a child of immigrants in the 70s, my parents had the same adversities as these students yet somehow they worked their butts off, in LEGAL jobs, no “cash” jobs. They managed to save up for house, buy a car and raise 3 kids on minimum wages.
Yes I realize back then our money went further BUT these students NEED to find legitimate jobs, and stop making bad decisions. You’re adults, not teenagers.
I’m sorry I know not everyone is educated but common sense would surely make you think twice about making “verbal contracts” with employers. You wouldn’t do that in India why would you think you can do
that here and not get ripped off?
Yes employers shouldn’t exploit these students but they exploit non-students as well, when you do cash jobs you are risking that…simple.

Canadians should not be competing with foreign students who live two to a room when looking for an apartment. In Punjab if you are still living in Punjab you are a looser, the Punjabi society is very toxic. that girl speaks barely any English, she wants to become a dentist in Canada but her English is like 5 bands worth of IELTS score not more than that, and minimum study permit criteria is 6.5 bands, i strongly believe that here family has bought that score for very big price and now she must achieve what she has came here for.

I mean what is the point to come as an international student with $500 in pocket and cry that life here is extremely difficult? You couldn't check it on google? Second, int.students are supposed to come to study or work? In our collage 80% of int.students (mostly from a certain region of the world) we not attending classes and somehow got their diplomas. Finally, at least to learn english before comming. It's insane how colleges accept people without basig languange.

it’s their freedom of speech my friend, people have exploited Canada in many ways and has made this country unaffordable even for Canadians. Canadians are not racist but when it comes to survival, people will start to speak up, that happens everywhere in the world.
