I'm 7 years clean, my wife is 6 years clean. I've been held hostage, lost my son to the ministry, lost the cars, the house, the money, the business, my wife left to a life on the street where she spent 18 months escaping extreme domestic and gang violence. She ended up pregnant and clawed her way out, she had to escape for two now. we spent 5 years apart healing in recovery. we've been back together for 2 years now and after losing all, today, we closed on a home. I run this podcast full time thanks to a bunch of great organizations in my community. I have a life I never saw coming. its possible. It's an epic adventure. We can recover.
@@PsychiatrySimplified women especially get hooked, not because of euporia, but because of the rapid and immediate weight loss experienced initially. This is the long term euphoric effect, a success initiated with the drug after years of weight gain and obsession with thinness in our society. At least this is what Im starting to realize in my area plagued with meth.
Smoked meth once, the rush was undescribable, felt invisible, nothing in the world matterd to me and wanting to do crazy shit. Crash was horrible and I wanted more , was craving that shit for weeks if not months. This drug is pure evil, decided not to do it again and happy with my decision.
@@PsychiatrySimplified thanks for reply! Love your videos, very informative and so easy to understand 💜 what is your opinion on taking multiple psychiatric drugs for long time? I'm on sertraline 200mg, mirtazapine 45mg and quetiapine 50mg. Still having nightmares and extreme hyper vigilance, depression and anxiety
Generally the aim is to help with functioning. So it’s a touch question to answer as it depends on the condition, severity and aims of treatment. For some medication is needed as it helps them function better ; for others they need it for an episode and then are able to come off. A risk benefit analysis ultimately. Try the nightmares hyperarousal , hypervigilance , anxiety etc - have a listen to the video on clonidine / prazosin ( evidence based in nightmares and hypervigilance as part of ptsd etc) . Usually this is mediated by noradrenergic activity and the medications such as sertraline, Mirtazapine and low dose quetiapine do not address that component. Ps not medical advice. I will be releasing a video on the difference between anxiety , hyperarousal and agitation soon.
Weird thing is I never felt the crash I smoked it couple times but last time was years ago. Found it a fun experience happy I tried it. The worst hangovers I had was from snorting normal amphetamine. Smoking meth felt more “natural” for me. I don’t know don’t feel the urge to do it ever again.
Interesting. In Europe, we dont have methamphetamine, or people who would use that, so meth scene = 0, However we have lighter version, amphetamine, and not pure, very, very, very deluted with non-toxic chemicals, and its cheap af, if that makes any sence. We name it "speed". Almost everybody aged 20 to 50 have tried it ot used it lightly in some moment or period in life, its drug, and yeah, stimulant/euphoric, but nothing even remote similar to meth. Ive used it for a few months non-stop like a decade ago, and i just stop using, without any craving, slept most of the next week, like i was on sleep meds, and after that week, ive been same, like have never used it before. Nowadays i sometimes (like few times per year) take it with much younger people, when i'm feeling exhausted, or simply tired beyond resonable measure - but should stay awake. And it has effect for few hours - one line (snorted) circa 0.3 grams. After that, you fall asleap whatever. Its so week in comparasion to what people say abouth meth, and noone looks like methhead on "speed" even if abusing it like a f'ing spoiled smallminded brat.
I've been a functioning user for over 20 years. I don't fit the stereotype often associated with users. I have a great relationship with my family, and my partner and I have been happily together for over five years. I have a well-paying career that I genuinely enjoy. Despite this, I've reached a point where I no longer enjoy using, and I've wanted to quit for a long time. I use to maintain. I use because when i dont use, i have no motivation, no drive. I'm an addict and I always felt that as long as im a good person, treat others with respect, love my family and friends, and do no harm to others, why stop. It wasn't until I watched this video that I seriously considered stopping. Although my health should have been a compelling reason to quit, it wasn't enough until now. Thank you for this video. I really hope I haven't caused too much damage.
Your story is so close to mine as well, except for a few differences. But I'll start with the similarities, as they are what got me right in the feels, if you will. Lol. I also have a great relationship with my family and pride myself on being a good person. Always honest, even to a fault sometimes. And respectful of every other human, at least I try to be. So I understand where you are coming from, and I was surprised to see someone else believes it's even possible to do those things as a meth user. Thank you for posting. It gave me the courage to post myself. I have adhd and borderline personality disorder, which both went undiagnosed until about last year. I started self medicating at age 13 with hard illicit substances. I shut down and turned into a zombie on cocaine, and was introduced to meth at about age 21/22. Finally, I found myself able to function the way everyone else seemed to already. I was able to organize my thoughts and actually get things done properly. My thoughts were no longer racing at a million miles per second, and I was finally able to just slow down and breathe. For the first time, my mind was calm, but I was also less depressed and so I was more active than previously. It was amazing, right until it wasn't. They took my daughter from me and put her with her father. I understand why, and he is an amazing dad, so I'm not worried about her being with him. But I miss her living with me. I miss tucking her into bed and morning cuddles. That happened when she was 5. She's 12 now. I wanted to stop using after that but couldn't. Then I got pregnant with my second child. Still couldn't stop, and my second child was placed in foster care at only 3 months old. That killed me. I still cry about it daily, even seeing her 3 times a week or more, every week since she went into care. She is 5 now. And still, I can't stop. I love my kids more than anything in the world. I want to stop for them. I dont understand why I'm like this. I feel like the worst mom in the whole world. I dont know how, but I know I won't give up, EVER until I'm clean and get my kids back. So just know you're not alone, and if you want to get clean, I believe in you. Because we all need to support each other, especially when we know and understand someone's struggle so personally. Meth is a hard thing to stop using once started, but I believe in you. Thats all I have to say for now, Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.
How good of a person are you being ingesting a highly toxic product into your body? How kind and loving is that to your own self? I’m not judging here, I used in the 80’s and 90’s when it was crank. Then I switched to crack, then heroin and pain pills and crack. Always had alcohol. Alcohol was my primary drug. I stopped meth in the 90’s then picked it back up in 2011. I was in jail for attacking my neighbor in a meth induced delusional paranoid psychosis. I got out 6 months later and started back up of course because I’m an alcoholic addict. In June 2012 after getting out of jail in January I attempted suicide and was successful, however I was found and revived. I continued using until April 2014. Had a full on drug induced psychosis which lasted about the first 2 years of my sobriety. It continued to lessen but ultimately lasted about 5 years. Symptoms and behaviors Exactly similar to paranoid schizophrenia. The main symptoms, hearing voices, severe paranoia mostly went away in the first 2 years sober but the paranoia and other symptoms like severe depressions, suicidality, anxiety etc continued for about 5 years total. It was awful. I was in flight response at all times and constantly in fear. I’m 10 years sober now but there’s still a lot of residue consequences. Lack of pleasure, still have severe depressions, anxiety and every so often paranoid thoughts. I hope you find your way out. I have a very big toolbox in dealing with life now as a sober person which includes 12 step groups, meditation, healthy diet, exercise etc and I have to use them all in different degrees most everyday. The damage has been done. It’s irreversible at this point. Today’s meth is so toxic by comparison to the biker dope of the 80’s and 90’s. I was psychotic most of the time and dangerous ultimately. Anedonia (wrong spelling) where little to no please can be experienced without the drug seems to be a consequence. I have occasional pleasure from things but mostly I’m kinda just waiting to die. I wish I’d never done this garbage. It really did f**k me up and I see the effects everywhere in my city. Tweekers be out there tweekin. I worked on an acute crisis unit for our state mental hospital for a couple years and lots and lots of meth psychosis, often times permanently. So sad.
Take this from someone who done meth the last 22 days and been awake the last 3. It’s not fun. I’m laying here watching shadows shoot everywhere thinking I’m seeing ghost. The on a comedown and it’s horrible. I just want to go to sleep and wake back as the real me again. I’m so mad at myself for doing the things I’ve done. I been hallucinating the past two days. I’m beyond sleep deprived and malnourished for the binge. I’m glad it was my last time
Hey Bro, Good luck mate, although luck is made by you, if you truely have found bottom grasp the opportunity, fuck off all the people that are a part of the problem, go deep, get mad and love your self
Your in my prayers and God knows I've been there and had literal talks with demons. I pray you get better brother and im not hating because ive been there.
I live in a small town. I moved back after 30 years. Methamphetamine has totally changed my town. Homeless people, crime, run down housing and people who look like walking skeletons. It's heartbreaking.
Yes it's truly sad, when I go out in public and see lots of people on it in the town I live in it hurts. I relapsed after like 4 years of being free from it a few weeks ago. It wasn't worth it at all. It truly hurts seeing that drug literally destroying many lives in the city and state I live in.
As an addiction recovery coach working on chemsex and meth dependency, I find that this video is an amazing and comprehensive walk through on meth and the repercussions of its prolonged use. Thank you for sharing, Dr. Sanil.
I’m not that well known commenter in the TH-cam’s commentary section. However, I’m here to say that, as a person who was dealing with this drug almost 4 years ago, this has been the best theoretical exposition in relation to the sensibility experienced in that substance.
I did meth like 7 years ago by accident (was supposed to be adderall) and I still think about the experiences I had with it almost everyday. I think it leaves a permanent mark on your neurochemistry. I took it orally, so it's not like I smoked or injected it, but even then the "rush" or come-up right when the dose is hitting your brain is just unpronounceably amazing. It's close to if not the most extreme feeling of sheer euphoria the human brain is capable of producing. It feels very, very, "red", if that makes sense. Just vibrating red with tingly pleasure head to toe, eyes uncontrollably rolling back, tongue and jaw spazzing out all over the place; the initial rush just fucking melts you and reduces life to one desirable outcome: to get that rush again and again and again. It's just such an unbelievably sweet feeling, it literally feels like a deluge of dopamine, it is exactly like that (I think meth also affects serotonin as well, though). Meth just tricks your brain into squeezing out all of its fun juices in one fell swoop. It feels really good, but you won't want to do anything else but it again. Everything else is subservient to that feeling. Even just typing this out makes me shake a bit and feel panicky because it is actually super hard to control yourself around that stuff to the point where your body will move on its own while you just watch behind your eyes. I can only recommend doing it if you're about to die or something, and even then probably not a good idea because it's just too carnal a feeling it's kind of gross. I'm not a moralizer by any means but going cross-eyed with dumb pleasure just kind of feels wrong and I don't think you'd want your last memories to be tainted by such a reductionistic experience.
holy shit I just went through the same thing last year- it’s a hell of a traumatic thing once you figure it out, but proud of us both for being able to fight through the withdrawals n get off of it
Maybe I have undiagnosed ADHD... I spent a couple months on the stuff and it just made it easier to focus on one thing for too long. No real euphoria, just a lack of negative feelings, also did a lot of meditation and "fasting", that was the calmest and stillest I'd ever been, sober or not. I quit it no problem with no hankerings as soon as I moved out of that dope town, been about 3 years now... environment plays a huge role. Overall it made me a bit more empathetic and hippy like , but also deleted my short term memory, but left my long term memory functioning just as well as it did before
I’m so grateful I got off that shit! It totally destroyed my life in 1998. Thankfully I was so young that I bounced out of the devastation quickly but I’ve been suffering with extreme memory loss ever since. I think it might be from an accumulated sleep deficit. My favourite thing to do was never sleep. My heart aches for anyone who decides to try this poison ☠️
@@PsychiatrySimplified Thanks I actually did try to get a cat scan years ago but the doctor didn’t take me seriously. You’re right I should. Thank u for that🙂
I was using back in the 90s to the dope was good then, now it’s trash and has fentanyl in it too now I am so grateful as well I got drug use out of my system then
You’re lucky it was back then with Ephedrine meth. The P2P meth is way worse and more pure and addictive. Thank goodness I’ve never tried the stuff, it is awful and hands down the worst hard drug. Fentanyl kills more people but on meth people just rot away to a shell of their former self. I’ve seen it first hand and it is absolutely awful. Every meth addict I know is also homeless. They are almost synonymous
I took meth for 2 years, started at a relatively young age (from age 17 to 19), I'm typically an introvert, having taken meth. I felt more social and alive than ever, in a way I did wish that I could be like that, but at the same time was always content in a sense with being an introvert because I enjoyed how introspective I could be. But with meth, I felt like I could manage being extremely introspective and social, it felt like a perfect balance, a seeming unity of opposites into perfect harmony. But the more I got into it, the more I realized how trivial, transient and illusionary this new sense of "self" that I discovered, it created a rift between who I truly was and who I wanted to be (a projection of a fake sense of self from it). It felt like a tragedy in its own right, because the drug consumed my soul (metaphorically speaking), it made me feel like I needed it exist as the "perfect me" that I strive to be. I came to realize how small it made me and how I became fundamentally weaker to a point where I couldn't persist without a mere substance like it. Excluding even that, I would occasionally go through intense crash downs from it, sometimes not sleeping for 3 days, it caused a significant toll on my heart, I've had few cardiovascular episodes that almost killed me, minor heart attacks and so forth, it made my preexisting anxiety worse, I even lost weight and my family started to notice and wondered what was wrong, one day my mother asked me "what went wrong with me", it's almost as if she could tell I was completely miserable because of this drug, it was then that I decided to wake up and quit (Well that and including the fact that it was taking a heavy toll on my heart). After having quit it, my anxiety grew worse, I started having panic attacks months even after taking it, it felt like flash backs of me almost dying were being replayed when I tried to sleep, which would trigger my anxiety and create another panic attack. A year later, I've decided to quit every drug I've ever taken, I quit the last one which was weed a few weeks ago, unfortunately it is in a way a little late, because now I'm on chronic for hypertension and congestive heart failure. My anxiety is still causing me a few problems in my daily routine, but the beta blockers I happen to take (atenolol) work great against cardiovascular diseases and anxiety simultaneously. The bottom line is, these videos aren't myths, they describe exactly what the drug does albeit from a technical standpoint, if you find it hard to quit this substance, I suggest you seek help immediately before it's too late, before it consumes you. It's almost never too late, but it can be when it comes to amphetamines, best of luck in your journey towards a greater sense of discipline, may god be with you.
This is a brilliant post that will help others. your post actually describes the neuroadaptations that occur in addiction with the stress systems being on constant heightened mode over time with reduction of the motivational and reward pathways. Hope you can get help and hope you feel better. I wish you well.
I stopped talking Venvanse because I was feeling exhausted, confused and irritated. At the university my cognition was really poor. Days after I stopped taking my understanding and comprehension about the subjects that I was studying has improved significantly. Great explanation.
Vyvanese is just amphetamine with a protein added to the molecule so it has to pass thru ur liver to be active. (Hydrolysis) it makes it not snortable or iv usable without chemistry knowledge.
@@JoshuaAnzalone-zk5htRitalin is the only one that worked for me but the amphetamines are so addictive I could never ask my doctor for the Ritalin again..my body wouldn't let me!! :P
Also Wellbutrin is slightly effective for speed addiction, and it helped me for a while. A lot of medications that treat it will interact with it in a bad way, so a person has to be ready for recovery to not be in danger from these medicines.
The music you either composed or selected - it goes so well with the subject matter! There's a real weakness in the highest pitch, much like a symbolic audio version of the weakness of a meth addict. The music is also conducive to focusing on the details. Very interesting video and great voice projection.
must add the occasional smoke clouds that were barely noticeable. Looked like a few puffing clouds, i think i only saw float thru on left side of vid most notably...that was clever in addition to the relative content for sure.
As an addict , a long term and chronic user, I can't help but feel like I have really screwed myself up. I've talked to recovering addicts, specially methamphetamine addicts, ones that have had 5, 10 years of clean time, and they say that it never gets better.
Post meth use or for that matter after any significant substance use - there are aspects that are unmasked or underlying issues for which the drug was used. Discussing this with a doctor , a psychiatrist can help - looking at the broad range of issues and which need to be targeted. Wish you well.
I don’t know if it never gets better, I think there is a reason why we take drugs in the first place. Once you are off a drug like meth, you not only still have the underlying cause/trauma/depression/insecurities…. But once off taking a drug like this, due to a society that makes a user so wrong and so bad, or if to support your habit you do things you normally wouldn’t do or regrets of wasting so much time in addiction, you are then left with so much regret and shame. I feel this is why it is so hard after getting clean from meth. Alcoholics for example are not judged like someone who has been on meth for years, it’s easier for them to seek treatment, employment and they are congratulated and supported and can talk openly of their struggles without the stigma. This is the problem I feel. Most people who take meth do so because they feel like shit and for the first time they are opened to a new world of feeling confident, happiness, energy, it’s like they are free from feeling so horrible. So why wouldn’t you want to take something that makes you feel better, then addiction comes in, a tolerance and the next thing you know your in deep. Everyone thinks they got control over it. Don’t be hard on yourself. We have one life and some of us have a rough deal. I think it’s all about gratitude. I bet those who are clean, still struggle, but life is better than hanging with people that rip you off, the daily grind to find money to pay for your habit then the chase to get your fear. I bet they feel relief that they are not lining that life anymore. Sure they fucked up, but no one intentionally wants or chooses to be an addict. Everyone has their poison, some are addicted to work, spending money, excercise, alcohol, cigarettes, sex, you name it, so people should not judge. No one has walked in your shoes, or know your story. Let them be closed minded and you worry about what it is that you want out of life and go find that path. I know it’s hard, I know if you don’t have it you feel like crap, I know the urge is so strong you can’t control it, but there is a way if you dig deep enough and you are worthy or living a healthier life. I wish you all the best I really do and it makes me extremely angry that society has got this whole thing wrong and people are set up to fail. The war on drugs doesn’t help and the mentality out there is so closed minded. You are a human being who deserves help and deserves respect to be treated fairly and with respect. You will get there, but change is scary. It’s easy living doing what we know. But you will come to a point when you have had enough, and when that day comes when you are sober again, then there is more work ahead of you and that work is to learn to accept that you made the choices that you did, look forward, forgive yourself, forgive others, live with love in your heart and love for yourself. Self love is huge man, once you have it, you find so much peace. ❤ all the best xx
@@PsychiatrySimplifiedexactly. Thank you Dr for being so kind and understanding and for your reply to this person. I said a similar thing, there is usually an underlying issue in the first place and just because you get clean doesn’t mean things will be great, it’s not until that underlying issue is dealt with and healing is done, will true living begin. I feel so sad that there is so much shame carried by users of meth and we need more drs like yourself that have a great understanding and an open mind, who do not judge, but want to genuinely help others. Thank you so much for what you do ❤
Your talking to the wrong people, I know plenty of people who have recovered from meth addiction and it definitely does get better. There is also a few different medications that can help you temporarily I recovering from meth addiction
Anyone and everyone needs to have self control no matter what you're doing in life. I will not advocate for meth use for anyone, but I believe the major fault lies in people's ability to forget that they still need to eat, drink, find nutrition, and if you know your brain is working overtime then feed it sugars... If you don't eat, take vitamins... Do not let yourself go. One day you will move past it or overcome it and until then take care of yourself. Do NOT let a thing overcome you. Remember you're eternal and this life is just teaching you how to be who you really are... Most people find out a LOT of things about themselves they don't like or aren't okay with and if they have already went that far then the only choice they have left is to choose life and remove all those things they know they aren't or don't want to be. People like to say, "do the drug, don't let it do you" , but once you've crossed that line and you know it's winning you have to make a choice... Fuck videos and speeches... Find yourself and get the fuck out of there. Iykyk
Buddy, I’m not sure if you actually watched the entire video, but there’s a very specific part in it that discusses how after a certain amount of methamphetamine use making rational choices which requires the pre-frontal cortex literally goes out the window as it becomes diverted and goes off-line more or less. Obviously, the point at which that occurs will be different for everyone because everyone’s brain is different, but most importantly everyone’s use is different. It can be as simple as you’re stating in the beginning, but you’re pretending that what you’re saying applies to everyone which it certainly doesn’t and it certainly has nothing to do with just get a grip on yourself lol The amount of massive comments of advice on this video, like people writing books of texts like yours is hilarious to me because it’s pretty obvious y’all are tweaking. Just remember, you’re sicker than you believe you are. Seek help. There is no such thing as a functioning drug addict ESPECIALLY a meth addict
Another important note is that the neurotoxicity is furthered by the hazardous compounds that go into its manufacture. Many of these can cause neurotoxicity as well.
I also did meth for almost 12 years daily. I have severe schizophrenia but I tried to hide it, I do sometimes believe people are still watching me or coming after me, there's a healing curve, it gets worse before you get better
There’s an extremely high likelihood that you have methamphetamine induced schizophrenia. You could’ve already been prone to the condition, or specially if you had it before you ever tried meth, the methamphetamine would’ve profoundly exacerbated schizophrenia. My brother never had symptoms of schizophrenia, but use meth for five years and now has to be medicated to prevent him from becoming psychotic because he now is a schizophrenic with methamphetamine and schizophrenia, which is permanent.
Stuff really stains your brain. Tried it once and still think about the experience to this day. Its not bad but, I find it fascinating that I still think about it to this day. Im really glad i was taken out of that situation otherwise, i would have ended up addicted
@PsychiatrySimplified It's difficult to reduce down to one effect. I heard someone describe it as being "mr. cool" as in, someone that he liked more. For me, it was just the general headspace. It was utterly fascinating. Another thing, too. It doesn't seem super "strong" when you use it. At least, not as strong as media depicts, which I've seen lure many people to long-term use. I was lucky in that I quickly wised up and left the situation. I even craved it for a couple of weeks after a single dose, knowing full well of the destructive potential. I appreciate you looking at the situation in a scientific manner. I've lost many friends to that lifestyle.
Thank-you for the insight, its made me reconsider my meth addiction. I'm now stressed about the effects meth has on my brain, so stressed i might have a burn to deal with the stress...
Yeah man, sounds like you aren’t too far down the hole. Meth is not a respecter of persons.. no matter who you are it will destroy you eventually if not damage you permanently. I’m not telling you anything you don’t know but if you need a sign to quit.. here it is.
@@dboydboy1000 haha I love your phrasing.. the "come down dungeon" man.. if that ain't the truth.. that moment of realization that it's time to stop and that the party is over.. knowing your in for the nightmare ride for the next 48 hours minimum unless you have some sort of benzo.
Benzo use is a nightmare in itself! I'm finally free from Xanax and now I won't touch anything that's stronger than a Tylenol! Drugs are selfish dirty liars and want to trick and to cheat you. Don't fall for it!
I like the way your channel is going, looks a lot more fluid, you look more confident and the imagery is much improved. Really would like to hear more on narcotics and drugs with abusive potential. Also maybe you could do a video walking through how overdose goes down with certain drugs
My Son got himself addicted to this drug. It has had catastrophic effects with him suffering from severe psychosis. His whole memory from his childhood changed and he believed things that weren't true. This led to a breakdown of our relationship and i had no choice but to throw him out of my house. He then got progressively worse. His paranoia and psychosis became worse and he broke into my house armed with a knife. He's lost a good job and a family that loved him. He's currently on remand in prison 😢
I’m so so sorry. That’s incredibly hard. My nephew was the same and it took my sister years to break off her relationship with him, for her own mental health. He’s been in prison times times now. I think meth just like other drugs, affects each individual differently. The problem with meth is that people don’t sleep or eat and that’s where things go horribly wrong, as well as the cost, so people commit crime to afford it, their irrational thinking goes down the toilet, the stigma associated with it. I also believe that there could be a mental health issue which is underlying with your son, which has been exacerbated by the drug. It’s incredibly sad. I’ve known people on this drug for years who still hold down jobs, own a home, have never broken the law and are nicer on it than if they drank alcohol. As a society we need to change the way in which we view addiction and especially meth addiction. The shame these people feel is incredible, the stigma keeps them from reaching out to family for help or health professionals in the first place due to the negative reaction that comes with meth addiction. We need to educate people on this a lot more. I’m Very sorry you have lost your son to his addiction, it can be worse than a physical Loss in some sense. Keep yourself protected from being hurt, but try not to give up on him. He has no one and fighting addiction alone isn’t easy. I hope that while he is in prison he will at least get clean long enough to be able to have time to think and maybe better choices are made when he gets out. That’s really hard and I’m so so sorry you must feel very alone too and thank you for sharing and being vulnerable in opening up! The stigma of this drug also affects how you must feel and how others must view you, your parenting etc,its ignorance. You’re a great mum, because you have done one of the hardest things ever and that was to make the choice to. It enable anymore. ❤ hugs
@@KiwikimNZ ...thankyou for your heartfelt reply. I hope one day my Son finds his way back home. I know he's a long road to travel yet, but I'm forever hopeful. ❤️
My neighbor's son is obviously suffering from meth psychosis. He was kicked out living in his car for 5 months. I couldn't keep watching and listening to his rages and rambling as well as vomiting over the side of his car. Often he'd be gone for a few days but come back raging and breaking stuff. I emailed his elderly father with resources for unhoused etc..nothing but a thank you..fast forward I started calling our mental health outreach..they could do nothing. His car incinerated in front of brand new neighbor's house. So now he's back on their property but still not allowed upstairs. He has said threatening things to me . sometimes he's unintelligible. They have an illegal trailer right on the other side of my patio closest to my home. From this he terrorized my home for 4 days straight but also has eruptions frequently or just pollutes my peace with violent and offensive rambling to himself..I cannot get the father to remove him from this spot which is also in a lot of vegetation and outdoor storage ( hoarding)..he says I can 51/50 him and he understands, but it's not that easy. I filed a police report now for his threats.. I've known this man when he has been kind and maybe not using. It's very sad. I'm at my wits end..if I could even 51/50 him he'd be out and angrier..it's been relatively quiet since Sunday afternoon when I filed a police report..(police did not make contact with him but his family probably knows) when the police were here he was really going off so he could be heard way up on the street. After watching this knowing his father isn't going to do anything for him I know the pattern will continue..also, I should add he has an arrest for battery and trying to disarm a police officer..seems he thought he lived in the house below them. He was in jail for a year and I believe returned before the RO was over. I think my only option is to go file a restraining order at this point.
I did meth maybe a couple of dozen times before and the highs were exactly as everyone describes, for hours on end. The main reason i think why i didnt become addicted were because of the hellish downers that would begin to kick in about halfway through a session, with no sleep. Eventually my brain would just overload with too much stimuli and i would need to sleep but was wide awake. Such a nightmare the images i would see. Then even after i got the sleep, i would have a two week downer, with exhaustion, poor balance, a constant static noise in my head, and a general feeling that my soul had been snatched from me. But then i would do it again. With booze and coke too even. The last time i did it was a year and a half ago where i had the same terrible downer but it didnt disappear as usual two weeks later. It just got worse and it felt like the world was a distant computer game. The brain fog was horrendous and i had to lay in bed for an hour after i woke up every day just to come to my senses. My balance was bad and i even had to stop drinking and anything else, because one sip would trigger my anxiety and a paranoid, confused state. Now even if i stay up longer than 8 hours it always feels like part of my brain wants to shut down or like im on the brink of epilepsy or narcolepsy, so i have to sleep or i'll lose my mind. I can never think straight because i have constant brain fog and cannot stay focused. Even though i havent touched drink or drugs for a year and a half it keeps getting gradually worse, like i have alzheimers, despite being in my 30s. Im out of solutions except for a final one.
Wish we had a pharmacological approach to help those that suffer from Desoxyn, Crystal MAMP, and Adderall addictions! Similar to methadone and Suboxone with opioid addiction! OFC some ppl don’t need continuous CS issued depends rly! Choreathotic movements, neuropathy, psychosis, and deep depressions are tragic to see as example of long term brain damage
Can you explain why Vyvanse(usually high or dosed twice one day) feels almost exactly like meth but dextroamphetamine(Dexedrine) doesn’t. I think vyvanse would be a good SUD drug for stimulants like methadone is for opioids. Study showed people withdrawing in rehab from methadone tolerated vyvanse really well
Yes vyvanse has been trialled as a treatment in meth addiction. But your experience may not be generalizable to all as many individuals find vyvanse sometimes is very mild - doesn't last enough or doesn't provide rhe adequate benefit even at higher doses. So it's really interesting you noticed this.

Sir. I thoroughly enjoy your work. I have loooooong been fascinated with "drugs" and society's inability to properly acknowledge that there are many ways and many methods that people have come up with (such as micro-dosing) that may have some positive results and attributes. I happen to believe that the purpose or reason for the use age of Amphetamine strongly impacts how destructive the "use" can be, (example " The Raver" vs "the housewife") As someone who HAS "experimented " with maybe every substance known to man (in one way or another), YET have only fell "slave to the grind" after two decades of weekend warrior mentality with good ole Foxy Roxy...I wonder, have YOU personally EVER indulged in any substance and fallen into the "abuse pattern"? With anything other than whole grain bread is!? heh heh . Keep up the good work...great stuff.. 💯
Great video. Very informative. You have a engaging talking style. If you get a chance a microphone might help, with your viewer count. There is somewhat of a not so pleasant echo . Almost like listening to someone talking in an empty hall. But it might be just me. Wishing you the best of success and looking forward to seeing more of your videos.
I watched this drug destroy so many people. Even after they finally got off of it (some trading alcohol as their new self medication) having to stay away from triggers - others being diagnosed with neurologist diseases, i.e., multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s-some have died from their hearts turning to what I call mush.. 30 something’s with pacemakers and defibrillators implanted and still doing the drug until it killed them.. such a straight from the pit of hell drug. Thank you for this very informative video, I got a lot out of it.
Thanks for this great video Dr Sanil. I am part of a mental health support service for psychosis, EIP, my role has a focus on substance support specifically. I'd really appreciate whether you've encountered cases, or in your professional opinion, whether one time use only is sufficient to induce long-term change in cognitive functioning, such as in prefrontal executive functioning or say heightened default mode network functioning (so called mind wandering) - or that actually such long term effects really only occur after chronic use? If I support a first-time novice user who happened to snort the crushed crystals, we wondered about this particular question and if differential effects can be observed long-term as a result of a single session use.
Now society has to prepare for the deterioration of a whole generation of meth users. Health care and providing specific medical care may not be met. We’re struggling to take care of our elderly today, this is scary to think about it
I disagree. You failed to mention all the positive effects like staying up without needing sleep, better at cleaning the house, and the ability to detect radiowaves that the CIA has been transmitting through the small implant in my cheek.
With this comment you reveal a pleasure from cruelty that I would think you'd want to keep hidden. What I find funny is that the premise you're not so subtly alluding to is that there is no benefit or upside to using meth. Which would really demonstrate the true suffering of habitual meth users. I'm sure that you justify this unsettling lack of empathy by putting emphasis on individual choice. But if there were no upside as you obviously know, how could anyone possibly choose this life willingly? If it were me, I'd have to really consider who I am inside, and if that's the type of person who finds pleasure in the suffering of others, and whether that's part of me I'd want to display for the world.
Don’t forget that it’ll make you lose weight, keeps dentists in business, and keeps people interesting🤣🤣! Yes I get the joke you made and it’s hilarious! I think most people understand that it’s a joke but there’s those who can’t tell their ass from a hole in the ground with how dense they are!

My life was destroyed bc of crack, crack is by far the most addictive and euphoric stimulant, and the most expensive, you will never have any leftover and you will never have any money and you will be so weird and everyone can tell. Most people i know that have tried an array of drugs will say "meth doesnt really get you high" they are exaggerating slightly bc you have motivation and youre not too messed up to get things done and the buzz feeling is very weak and i have to agree, i first did meth for a week, i stayed up first night then let myself sleep for a few hours each day after that, it was enough to tale the edge off and it got me off of crack and saved my life and i didnt have any huge cravings after, also importantly i wanted to quit, being a crackhead is not something you miss being, from the first hit of crack you are trying not to do anymore but cant help it I smoked (never snorted it or ate it ever) after that over the next couple years bc its fun to get a lot done around the house or be obsessive with a hobby like a musical instrument or fixing a car, my life is back on track and i would argue significantly more than it was previous to crack years, 3.5g lasts a very long time, 1-2 weeks and its so cheap, it pays for itself and then some if you do more production at a job or side hustle like i did, didnt need to do it everyday like hard drugs, i sleep everynight at least 4-5 hours minimum, very very very rarely let myself stay up an entire two and a half days straight, if you do that you start to get weird, as anyone on or off drugs would, ive cut back/out smoking cigs and weed and booze, i eat well everyday, and i feel theres no hangover when you sleep on it, it in fact has almost an anti hangoger effect like Adderol where you wake up ready to go, however if i dont do it for 2 days i def get some longer sleeps in for the next few days, keeping my mind occupied let me go to bed some days realizing i didnt smoke any or even think about it Some of the stories in these comments make me feel as though people have placeboed their brain into having such intense experiences There could also be something to never ingesting it and only smoking it, but meth feels like "pussy shit" (pardon my french) when it comes to druga, esp when you can smoke todays weed and be so fucking high you cant make it to the car let alone drive But like all drugs, its been shown over and over again that its case by case, especially when youre open minded and dont have the expectations some have, some suck at taking certain drugs and let it become their master, some do them like a champion, some die from them, some go on living from them, some get lazy, others get motivated , some get weird, some find their personalities, some ruin their lives, some use it to succeed, some make the best art and music ever done I quit for a year or so twice, currently sober but kinda feel like getting some just for the fuck of it, so i might This is all one case of use, dont let my story alone affect your decision making, i could be a one out of a hundred, listen to this doctor not me, i dont condone letting drugs into anyones life, youre better off never opening the door and risking anything you have
The interesting question is allowing for appropriate dosing, is taking meth in a drug like Desoxyn really any worse for brain health than other prescription stimulants like methylphenidate or dexamphetamine?
It’s a great question. But immediate release even desoxyn has the potential to be more harmful than AMPH and MPH. We know desoxyn is approved in US for ADHD but there are safer alternatives. In the latest video I cover the potential for greater harm.
Thanks for the feedback. What do you mean by less reflections. This one was done with Yeti I think but I'll be recording with Rose lapel moving forward. Thanks
Definitely . While i've got one on Wernicke and Korsakoff's I'll do one on alcohol, MDMA and opiates - planning for these. thank you for the suggestion.
I want to add that medical science has figured out the entire chemistry of our brains and a new category of supplements are out called Neutropics that increase recovery from almost any deficiency and regenerate damage to the brain
Note that not everyone experiences the same results and also its to do with chronic use. If one is functioning well then that is a reasonably good indicator of homeostasis
hey dont stress urself out. I did lots of lsd and weed as a 16 year old, and now have hppd/maybe schizo symptoms/ visual fog. Telling myself that my impulsiveness and recklessness is the reason my brain is in shambles has never helped make my hppd or mental state better. All you can do is possess the current moment and use it to make urself better.

Like a lotta other folks, I’ve accidentally taken meth thinking it was adderall. I’ve taken it for months, quit cold turkey as soon as I found out (this happened last year, I couldn’t tell it was meth since I was taking seroquel as well. It was part of why I was taking the meth), and experienced hellish withdrawals n PAWs for a while after. I’m just now making it out of the depression months later, and I was irritable and unable to function/socialize for literally months. be fucking careful y’all, remember to test absolutely everything every time- usually I do but the one time I was broke as fuck and couldn’t afford reagents, this shit happens. My life has been altered and my teeth body and mind have been damaged. learn from my mistakes if this is something you gotta learn.
@@PsychiatrySimplified they were! In which case the absorption probably isn’t as high as it’d be if I smoked or snorted methamphetamine, but it still certainly not ideal to take in any case 😅 I heard of an experiment where 11 different samples of pressed adderall pills were tested, and 7 of them were cut with meth- or entirely meth. and for people (like me) who are youngish and had their mental health neglected in their formative years, that’s daaaangerous
@@PsychiatrySimplified yep in the US, and certainly risky stuff. The withdrawals are hell, and you bet that shit amplified my bipolar disorder n ravaged my brain for a good few months. I do admittedly sometimes miss the productivity n drive I had while taking those pills, because I’m not gonna lie that dopamine made me feel on top of the world and able to do anything. It heightened my mania and cut away my overthinking, but the way it ravaged my brain and body n fucked up my life for months ensures I’ll keep my distance from that shit forever. I’ve luckily gotten an ADHD med script in the time since, pardon the TMI doc lol
The brain after an injury, even in traumatic brain injury, undergoes a process of neuroplasticity and neurogenesis. with abstinence from methamphetamine a similar process likely occurs, and this is borne out in evidence where users that have ceased Methamphetamine use show recovery in cognitive domains, but also from any other individuals, relapses of psychosis or other psychiatric disorders cease which is an indication of the brain, reaching homeostasis. One thing in clinical practice that I’ve realised is Even individuals with significant brain atrophy as part of the neuro degenerative conditions, I’ve seen significant improvements in functioning once stability is achieved in terms of adequate sleep diet, nutrition, exercise and general mental health well-being. Whilst we don’t know the exact reasons for this it’s amazing how much the brain can compensate, and this is most likely due to the processes of neurogenesis, a neuro plasticity. We’ve done a video neuro plasticity on this channel so please do check that one out.
So…what would you consider the difference between a chronic user that titrates their dose in accordance with FDA guidelines and a person that actually uses the same amount of Desoxyn prescribed by a doctor?
Been using everyday for a year. Took a couple week break in that time and I bounced right back to my normal self. I’m Stoping cold Turk for a while in a couple of days. I don’t have any cognitive decline or any of the other bad side effects that I am aware of. I do see eyes in the sky now but I don’t think it’s from the drug because the eyes can be seen by anyone who is shown when I point them out.
anytime I do intense drugs I get anxiety, I did meth for 3 weeks twice and just played video games it was really fun until I had tot think about leaving the room then it was stressful because I knew I looked stupid and couldnt act normal then when you stop your basically up feeling like shit another full day until u can sleep luckily I had adderal which completely negated the come down for me then I just thought to myself I can just do my adhd meds it gives me the same thing I want without the anxiety and stress and come down , and meth is ass after the second day and that come down keeps you up which almost forces you back into it but with a way shittier high so people turn to shooting but even when I was on it I thought I would just die or my brain would hurt if I shot it idk ive learned growing up my anxiety is actually a gift
Meth makes me feel very energised and more "in the moment". The euphoria however is quite mild. I really don't know why I do it because it's so harmful.
Maybe you should study my brain. I have done meth since I was 21. But talk about habits, people have 100 dollar a day habits, 500, 1000 dollar a day habits. My habit has been like maybe 40 dollars every two weeks. It started because I didn’t feel I had enough energy to do my job. My job requires so much. I’m a court reporter. Lots of motor skills involved. I’m 55 now. I have dementia in my family, so I figure I will eventually see that happen. But still hanging in there. But I’ve never let it ruin my life, at least not completely. I don’t miss work. I don’t get sick. I do have hypothyroidism. I would like to quit but feel like I’d never be able to keep up with work if I did. Wouldn’t know where to start at this point.
Have you seen a doctor to rule out underlying ADHD or another comorbid psychiatric condition? Hypothyroidism can be associated with fatigue and also ADHD type picture - especially thyroid autoimmunity in females.
I can relate. It feels pressured from work and the environment. You always seem like you can get the tasks accomplished high, but in reality it’s the same amount of time counting the minutes/hours when abusing

Hello Dr. I've been using crystal meth for about 3 yrs. It started during the second year of the pandemic. For what I've seen, I would say I'm not the typical user, I don't use it in a sexual manner, I don't skip meals, I take vitamins and supplements such as NAD, NAC, Resveratrol, Magnesium etc. I also don't deprived myself from sleeping. I only use it when I'm home, if a go on a vacation I dont use it at all, and honestly i don't feel the "need" of using. But I really want to stop! Any advice on how to stop it? Thank you 🙏🏻
Is it easy to get? From a friend? Dark web? Immediately toss your supply down the toilet like it's your worst enemy. It is. Stop hanging out with anyone else who has it. Confide in a close friend and have them aware of your experience so they know what you're up to. If you can't do these things, you don't really want to stop. "Knowing is not enough. We must do." -Bruce Lee
It's very difficult to provide specific advice. However a multi-pronged approach can help. 1. An assessment to rule out underlying conditions for which a person may be using w.g depression, adhd etc 2. Treating the underlying conditions 3. Addressing the pathophysiology of craving and triggers through medications and psychological strategies. E.g Bupropion and naltrexone, or clonidine to reduce stress response and improve sleep - ps not advice 4. Removal of environmental triggers as much as possible ( this prevents the lever from being constantly pressed) 5. Specific psychological inteveentions and family support. These are some options that can be combined. Wish you well
How to stop is to call on Jesus and as much as you may not want to hear this its all about blocking your dealers number and any others associated that you were using with. It's all about people, places, and things. Best of luck to you
I am lying if i say never tried this drug,2x session of using 12 years ago,i mananged to stop thru shock cause i had an car accident and the shock of having an accident made me quit,i never even feel the Withdrawal in the 20 days i am in the hospital cause of SHOCK of my accident.I am contented with tobacco plugs now

Thanks. Will put benzo’s on the list. Good suggestion. I tried a few things for this video - I think this was with the iPhone and another couple with blue yeti. Hence forth doing it with lapel which I found gives the best sound quality. Thanks for the feedback
One of the drugs I think I have seen change someone almost overnight depending on if they snorted or smoked it, and then the ones that take a hot rail because it "looks cool" no hope at that point for awhile, a very horrible drug, the same can be said for crack cocaine but this stuff is just that much stronger.
Is there brain damage if you do some just for 1 day were you inject it a few times in 5 hrs then a big thick injection were there was it was like death was coming but didn't and caused ptsd on that big shot even yrs later....but is there brain damage in this case?.
The word brain damage is probably not the best term clinically or scientifically as it signifies a catastrophic irreversible outcome. In general even with chronic users recovery is possible. So while there are brain changes with single use - this does not signify damage.
I’ve done a video on meth vs amphetamine and then methylphenidate ( Ritalin) vs AMPH . That should give you an idea. Duromine ( phenteremine) has an amphetamine like action .
Here is Article from Russell Campillo, CHW, CPS, MARS For most of us, meth is an energy that you’ve never had. Your eyes widen, your heart races, your senses are amplified, and goosebumps run across your skin. You become hyper-aware and sensitive to noises, smells, even your vision. I was able to read a book for the very first time. I was creating stories and art pieces one after another. I felt more productive than I had ever been. Things slowly began to crumble, loss of a job, odd jobs working for people. Payment for drugs is not always monetary, but you always pay in one form or another. As the crumbling continues, so do the tooth aches, dry mouth, eyes, skin, twitching, and restlessness; homelessness, lack of self-care, including medical care; visual, auditory, even physical hallucinations, teeth grinding, cramps, no sleep. You begin to forget hunger and thirst. Some surveys show only one out of two crystal meth users will stay sober for the first three months after they try to get sober. Without formal treatment however, only one in nine users will make it through the first three months. The success rate of crystal meth users to continue sobriety after three years without any rehabilitation or treatment is ONLY 5%. When all relapse incidents are grouped together, it is estimated that 92% of crystal meth users will relapse at least once in their recovery efforts. Referring to my own experience, familial, friend, and counseling supports are the most integral part of my recovery. I also was able to find work in HIV services which is not where I ever expected to be. This position is fulfilling and challenging. I became an HIV Peer Educator in 2019, obtained my CHW (Community Health Worker) in 2019 and my CPS (Certified Peer Specialist) for mental health and substance use shortly after. I was also certified MARS (Medication Awareness Recovery Services) a bit later. The work I do allows me to stay focused in my recovery. Today I am successful through these experiences and have been given opportunities to share my story on HIV and substance use disorder to medical students, to others who are challenged with substances, and other professionals. I have always been capable, but today I am grateful and fortunate to be one of the 5%.

Dexamphetamine is different from Methamphetamine. And the PFC requires an optimal level of DA and NA for functioning. Too little and that’s the symptoms of ADHD . Too much is harmful
For those of us who were able to get help and stop using meth after years of using it…. Will our brains heal? Will we ever feel some sense of normalcy again as years go by?
It’s difficult to say individually but what I’ve noticed in practise is that with abstinence ; treatment if needed , focus on sleep, nutrition, routine , managing stress etc. - there are gains noted over time . Even in individuals with brain scans that show atrophy ( other conditions like neurodegenerative ) clinically I’ve seen significant changes when overall stability is reached. Moreover there is evidence of recovery of cognitive functions after meth use is ceased . So yes the neuroplastic changes can make a difference with the right support and treatment
As a fully functioning long time user, what test should we have done to find out the damage done to our bodies? I eat super healthy with half my diet consisting of fresh juice daily loaded with everything possible needed but I know the only way is to stop. For those Ive seen comment like myself that does it just to maintain and after 20 years youd never even guess was a daily user, is it serving a purpose and is there anything to take its place?
Patients with meth use often require doses that are different when it comes to the Dopaminergic /NA potentiators and also for arousal reduction due to the process of sensitisation and impact on PFC - not so much the BBB - but more due to the actual neurobiological impact of the drug effects .
I used drugs since I was 15 to 21 I started shooting meth for 6 months at 20-21 I felt something pop in my head & never been the same I been working out for 3 1/2 years & I feel like I’ll never be the same still, what can I do different?

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and your honesty is refreshing. I wish you well in your journey. Take care
@@HarleyQ604 Never give up. You are more important than any substance.
You're already suffering from brain damage
I’m glad it was my last time
That sounds distressing. Please seek help.
Hey Bro,
Good luck mate, although luck is made by you, if you truely have found bottom grasp the opportunity, fuck off all the people that are a part of the problem, go deep, get mad and love your self

I live in a small town. I moved back after 30 years. Methamphetamine has totally changed my town. Homeless people, crime, run down housing and people who look like walking skeletons. It's heartbreaking.
Devastating!
Yeah blame in on the meth and not the blacks
Welcome to US
Yes it's truly sad, when I go out in public and see lots of people on it in the town I live in it hurts. I relapsed after like 4 years of being free from it a few weeks ago. It wasn't worth it at all. It truly hurts seeing that drug literally destroying many lives in the city and state I live in.
For real why couldn’t we have just stayed on crack
As an addiction recovery coach working on chemsex and meth dependency, I find that this video is an amazing and comprehensive walk through on meth and the repercussions of its prolonged use. Thank you for sharing, Dr. Sanil.

I’m not that well known commenter in the TH-cam’s commentary section. However, I’m here to say that, as a person who was dealing with this drug almost 4 years ago, this has been the best theoretical exposition in relation to the sensibility experienced in that substance.
Thank you for your feedback 🙏🏼
Now do heroin
wow thats an amazing description and really highlights why it can be so addictive.
holy shit I just went through the same thing last year- it’s a hell of a traumatic thing once you figure it out, but proud of us both for being able to fight through the withdrawals n get off of it
Maybe I have undiagnosed ADHD...

It’s good you got off it. It’s worth seeing a doctor to see if this memory aspect can be improved. Wish you well
@@PsychiatrySimplified Thanks I actually did try to get a cat scan years ago but the doctor didn’t take me seriously. You’re right I should. Thank u for that🙂
I was using back in the 90s to the dope was good then, now it’s trash and has fentanyl in it too now I am so grateful as well I got drug use out of my system then
Well done ❤
Damn all that happened to you in only two years? How do you rationalize how much it messed you up when you see all these 10 - 20 years posts?
I stopped talking Venvanse because I was feeling exhausted, confused and irritated. At the university my cognition was really poor. Days after I stopped taking my understanding and comprehension about the subjects that I was studying has improved significantly.
Great explanation.
I'm glad you stopped, yes Vyvanse and Adderall also cause irritation after long term use
Vyvanese is just amphetamine with a protein added to the molecule so it has to pass thru ur liver to be active. (Hydrolysis) it makes it not snortable or iv usable without chemistry knowledge.

The music you either composed or selected - it goes so well with the subject matter! There's a real weakness in the highest pitch, much like a symbolic audio version of the weakness of a meth addict.
It makes you euphoric and helps you form nostalgic memories about your window sill

It can be as simple as you’re stating in the beginning, but you’re pretending that what you’re saying applies to everyone which it certainly doesn’t and it certainly has nothing to do with just get a grip on yourself lol
The amount of massive comments of advice on this video, like people writing books of texts like yours is hilarious to me because it’s pretty obvious y’all are tweaking.

Sorry to hear. Wish you well
There’s an extremely high likelihood that you have methamphetamine induced schizophrenia.
Thanks for sharing. Someone else also described the experience vividly showcasing the addictive potential. Is it the euphoria?

So sorry to hear that! That is devastating! I hope this changes for your son and your family. Wish you well
This happened to my husband he lost alot and walked away from our beautiful daughters for meth
Very sorry you have lost your son to his addiction, it can be worse than a physical
Loss in some sense.
Thank you sharing. I hope you can see a doctor as the aspects you mention can be addressed.

I happen to believe that the purpose or reason for the use age of Amphetamine strongly impacts how destructive the "use" can be, (example " The Raver" vs "the housewife")
As someone who HAS "experimented " with maybe every substance known to man (in one way or another), YET have only fell "slave to the grind" after two decades of weekend warrior mentality with good ole Foxy Roxy...I wonder, have YOU personally EVER indulged in any substance and fallen into the "abuse pattern"? With anything other than whole grain bread is!? heh heh .
Keep up the good work...great stuff.. 💯

@@PsychiatrySimplified awesome sounds good 😊
Thanks for this great video Dr Sanil.
We’re struggling to take care of our elderly today, this is scary to think about it
Interesting about alpha 1 receptors and their effects on the Prefrontal cortex in the context of CFS and brain fog
I disagree. You failed to mention all the positive effects like staying up without needing sleep, better at cleaning the house, and the ability to detect radiowaves that the CIA has been transmitting through the small implant in my cheek.
Im sensing sarcasm here 🤔
With this comment you reveal a pleasure from cruelty that I would think you'd want to keep hidden.
@Microplasticreplica That's a lot of words just to say that you're a soft man from a soft generation.

My life was destroyed bc of crack, crack is by far the most addictive and euphoric stimulant, and the most expensive, you will never have any leftover and you will never have any money and you will be so weird and everyone can tell.
Most people i know that have tried an array of drugs will say "meth doesnt really get you high" they are exaggerating slightly bc you have motivation and youre not too messed up to get things done and the buzz feeling is very weak and i have to agree, i first did meth for a week, i stayed up first night then let myself sleep for a few hours each day after that, it was enough to tale the edge off and it got me off of crack and saved my life and i didnt have any huge cravings after, also importantly i wanted to quit, being a crackhead is not something you miss being, from the first hit of crack you are trying not to do anymore but cant help it
I smoked (never snorted it or ate it ever) after that over the next couple years bc its fun to get a lot done around the house or be obsessive with a hobby like a musical instrument or fixing a car, my life is back on track and i would argue significantly more than it was previous to crack years, 3.5g lasts a very long time, 1-2 weeks and its so cheap, it pays for itself and then some if you do more production at a job or side hustle like i did, didnt need to do it everyday like hard drugs, i sleep everynight at least 4-5 hours minimum, very very very rarely let myself stay up an entire two and a half days straight, if you do that you start to get weird, as anyone on or off drugs would, ive cut back/out smoking cigs and weed and booze, i eat well everyday, and i feel theres no hangover when you sleep on it, it in fact has almost an anti hangoger effect like Adderol where you wake up ready to go, however if i dont do it for 2 days i def get some longer sleeps in for the next few days, keeping my mind occupied let me go to bed some days realizing i didnt smoke any or even think about it
Some of the stories in these comments make me feel as though people have placeboed their brain into having such intense experiences
There could also be something to never ingesting it and only smoking it, but meth feels like "pussy shit" (pardon my french) when it comes to druga, esp when you can smoke todays weed and be so fucking high you cant make it to the car let alone drive
But like all drugs, its been shown over and over again that its case by case, especially when youre open minded and dont have the expectations some have, some suck at taking certain drugs and let it become their master, some do them like a champion, some die from them, some go on living from them, some get lazy, others get motivated , some get weird, some find their personalities, some ruin their lives, some use it to succeed, some make the best art and music ever done
I quit for a year or so twice, currently sober but kinda feel like getting some just for the fuck of it, so i might
This is all one case of use, dont let my story alone affect your decision making, i could be a one out of a hundred, listen to this doctor not me, i dont condone letting drugs into anyones life, youre better off never opening the door and risking anything you have
Thank you for sharing this. Many good points

Yeah I truly think it causes brain damage way worse than even bath salts (methcathinone and it's variants)
nice info. I think your videos could be improved if you got a new microphone and/or recorded in a space with less reflections.
Thanks for the feedback. What do you mean by less reflections. This one was done with Yeti I think but I'll be recording with Rose lapel moving forward. Thanks

I want to add that medical science has figured out the entire chemistry of our brains and a new category of supplements are out called Neutropics that increase recovery from almost any deficiency and regenerate damage to the brain
a nootropic called 7,8 dhf recovers the dopamine syatem from meth polygla , NAC ,
I was on meth 24/7 for 9 years. 2 years clean now. Doing really good but seeing this worries me. What have I done to myself??
Note that not everyone experiences the same results and also its to do with chronic use. If one is functioning well then that is a reasonably good indicator of homeostasis
hey dont stress urself out. I did lots of lsd and weed as a 16 year old, and now have hppd/maybe schizo symptoms/ visual fog. Telling myself that my impulsiveness and recklessness is the reason my brain is in shambles has never helped make my hppd or mental state better. @@PsychiatrySimplified they were! In which case the absorption probably isn’t as high as it’d be if I smoked or snorted methamphetamine, but it still certainly not ideal to take in any case 😅
I heard of an experiment where 11 different samples of pressed adderall pills were tested, and 7 of them were cut with meth- or entirely meth. and for people (like me) who are youngish and had their mental health neglected in their formative years, that’s daaaangerous

I do admittedly sometimes miss the productivity n drive I had while taking those pills, because I’m not gonna lie that dopamine made me feel on top of the world and able to do anything. @@aintapuppyingesting meth gives a feeling compared to injecting it according to many users
Do you know if the brain repairs itself even after longterm use ?
Im not sure i understand the question - difference in related to? Any drug effect is a function of drug pharmacology plus patient characteristics.
Thank you so much for this detailed neurology lesson, you did very well at explaining things and making them comprehensible.

How are you doing?❤
They're probably just agreeing with you that there are eyes on the sky because you're whacked out and they're not sure what to say.
Hi i am a long time user but we only smoke around quarter a gram every week
anytime I do intense drugs I get anxiety, I did meth for 3 weeks twice and just played video games it was really fun until I had tot think about leaving the room then it was stressful because I knew I looked stupid and couldnt act normal then when you stop your basically up feeling like shit another full day until u can sleep luckily I had adderal which completely negated the come down for me then I just thought to myself I can just do my adhd meds it gives me the same thing I want without the anxiety and stress and come down , and meth is ass after the second day and that come down keeps you up which almost forces you back into it but with a way shittier high so people turn to shooting but even when I was on it I thought I would just die or my brain would hurt if I shot it idk ive learned growing up my anxiety is actually a gift
Meth makes me feel very energised and more "in the moment". The euphoria however is quite mild. I really don't know why I do it because it's so harmful.
How does this differ to crack? It sounds very similar.
Cocaine ( crack) is milder in terms of the extent of dopamine release

I think that is good advice.
Wish you well
Use it in a sexual manner?
How to stop is to call on Jesus and as much as you may not want to hear this its all about blocking your dealers number and any others associated that you were using with. It's all about people, places, and things. Best of luck to you

So what about, Ritalin, Adderall, duromine etc?
I’ve done a video on meth vs amphetamine and then methylphenidate ( Ritalin) vs AMPH . That should give you an idea. Duromine ( phenteremine) has an amphetamine like action .

For most of us, meth is an energy that you’ve never had.

If one dose is enough for serious mid long term effects why is pychiatry giving it to children for adhd ?
