Trust me, Johnny doesn't need anyone to carry him. He is just giving little brother Edgar the spotlight on this. They are each amazing artists in their own right. Because they are albino and couldn't go outside during the day, they spent a lot of time practicing their music, and it shows. I saw Johnny in the mid 70s and he is mindblowing. Check out the live version of Edgar's Frankenstein. He freakin' kills it on keys, sax AND drums
Johnny is one of the greatest blues players to ever to touch a six string, Edgar plays about every instrument know to man....get something straight, Johnny was a star.
Johnny Winter was one of the best EVER blues guitar slingers to have ever lived. It's a shame you never heard of these guys. You really need to go back and listen. Edgar is still crankin in his late 70's & Johnny last album was a killer.
This was Johnny’s concert, but as others have pointed out here, he showcased his younger brother’s talent. “Be Careful with a Fool” from this same show is incredible. Check it out.
I got to see Johnny three times , the last time was two weeks before he passed away , yes , he walked on the stage by himself , his fingers still moved , he still jammed , fantastic show ! I would suggest Johnny Winter , live at Rockpalast , doing , The medley , it's a combination of different blues songs . Then you can hear Johnny play !
Johnny was the first non-African-American to be inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame. The bassist here, Tommy Shannon, went on to play with Stevie Ray Vaughn in the 80s and 90s. This is a cover of a Nashville Teens song from 1959 - if I'm wrong there someone please correct me. Eric Burdon (Lead singer of the Animals) did a very different but pretty decent cover of this as well. The subtitles here have an error, the line is "I despise you because you're filthy". If you listen you can hear that that's what Edgar is singing.
Facts to know: Edgar called himself, "WHITE TRASH". There is a live album titled WHITE TRASH. The drummer and bass player became Double Trouble when playing with Steve Ray Vaughn
That was Johnny introducing his brother's talent. It was Edgar's song. Everyone knew it and built the song around his lead. Both brothers had outstanding bands and performances, but when they got together, the freaking stars stopped in the sky to watch. Any Allman brothers concert was magic. As about 20 other revolutionary bands 60s and 70s. Amazing times i remember.
This was a Johnny winter concert and he gave the spotlight to his brother Edgar. Johnny Winter IS the greatest guitarist in music history. Look up Johnny winter and watch his music especially his blues.
Welcome to the party Brother! I'm blessed to have grown up on this...and can't tell you how much it thrills me to see someone being turned on to it 🙏 Spread the love Brother 🐶😎🇺🇸
I've seen Edgar Winter twice in concert. The first time was in the 70s, the last time was shortly after Johnny had passed away. When he mentioned his brother, the entire audience was on their feet, and I think Edgar got a little choked up. Johnny Winter was an incredible blues guitarist.
Great reaction! They always surprise first timers. People will recommend you see Edgar's band do Frankenstein live at th-cam.com/video/P8f-Qb-bwlU/w-d-xo.html, and with good reason. But I always point people to his song Dying to Live first. Nice video montage at th-cam.com/video/opGVGKw_lDU/w-d-xo.html. It's the most beautiful song you've never heard. Enjoy your inevitable deep dive into these brothers; they're both brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Johnny is in the Blues Hall of Fame and this year, 53 years after the performance you just reacted to, Edgar won a Grammy for Best Contemporary Blues Album with "Brother Johnny," a tribute to his brother who died in 2014.
JDWIII, the greatest white blues player of all time(1ST ONE INDUCTED TO THE BLUES HALL OF FAME) rocked it at woodstock), Edgar , his younger brother? Another musical prodigy. Two albinos from texas. Edgar is currently touring with Ringo and the all starr band. Won his 1st grammy at 76 for the epic tribute album "brother Johnny". SPREAD THE WORD!
Edgar Winter is very talented musician, so was Johnny, check out “Dallas” by Johnny, “still alive and well” is one of my favorite albums, Johnny was inducted into the blues Hall of Fame back in the 1980s. Do a dive into him when you get a chance! 😊
Brother, Johnny shone so brightly on his own that he had to step back to let his brother into the spotlight. Edgar was so dedicated to helping his brother when he needed it that he even played the drums and Edgar was no drummer. He would have to wrap his hands in rags to hold on to the drumsticks from the blood caused by the drumming. Johnny said that Edgar could keep a tempo and he was loud, that was all he needed lol.
I saw Johnny at the Bottom Line in NYC. He played about 2 hours then said he hadn't had a chance to play with his brother in a while and then Edgar came out and they played another two hours.
I don’t think I could pick a favorite song out of all the songs I know and say this one is the best. But, if you narrow that category just a little and asked me what my favorite live performance is of a song, it would be this one. I had heard the song vaguely in the past sometime by somebody else, and I liked it, but I forgot it soon after. So, when I heard this, I was just blown away! Nobody, nobody, could top this (in my opinion, of course). ❤ P.S. It’s my understanding this was Edgar’s show and Johnny just came to support his brother, so if you’re seeing Edgar as the star here that may be why. I bet if you went to a Johnny show without Edgar you’d be pretty impressed. Just my 2¢.😊 P.P. S. Now I’ve read other comments & it seems I got it backwards: this was Johnny’s show & Edgar made a show-stopping appearance. Anyway, you really couldn’t find two more talented musicians.
Saw Johnny Winter around 15 times, Edgar Winter once, Edgar was first rock concert, check out Rock and Roll by Johnny Winter, Highway 61 Revisited from Johnny Winter Captured Live is another great one, great reaction,
I saw Johnny and Edgar in a little club in Birmingham MI in 1969 standing 10 feet from the stage. I bumped into Edgar at an arena concert as we both rounded a corner. I saw them both a few times talk about great! Watch Frankenstein by Edgar it will blow you away
You HAVE TO check out “Be Careful With A Fool” and “Fast Life Rider” both performances are from this same show in 1970. Edgar did steal the show on this one though. But JOHNNY is one of the GOATs for sure. I promise you will NOT be disappointed! That’s a hell of a rabbit hole to go down… Happy digging!
First time watching and channel and a great reaction! You paid attention, didn't act like a mannequin, and seemed genuine. I agree with you about Edgar carrying. I've watched at least a dozen reactions to this performance and usually fast forward the guitar solo. If any of you out there no of any comparable performances by Johnny, please send me that way. And I've already seen Frankenstein which doesn't even contain vocals. Intend to check out more of your content.
Now you need to check out the Irish blues rock legend, Rory Gallagher. His fans include Slash, the Edge, Johnny Marr, Vivian Campbell (Def Leopard), Brian May and many other guitar greats. Rory is knows as the "greatest guitarist you've never heard of", especially here in the States, because he shunned the celebrity spotlight. He never released a single during his career. He preferred playing in smaller. more intimate venues. Rory lived to play music and the fame and fortune were never something he sought during his life. Try checking out "In Your Town" live in Paris 1974 for a sample of his raw energy and talent. You will be blown away!
Johnny talked Edgar into this set. Edgar was getting discouraged and ready to call it quits. Big Brother knew Little Brother had too much talent. Johnny got him on stage and helped him regain his confidence and drive. Johnny went on to have an epic Blues career, and Edgar went on to hits like Frankenstein and Free Ride.

Johnny was giving the glory to his Brother. He needs nobody to assist him.
Johnny became the first non-African American to be inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 1988.
The sign of a good musician is knowing when to hang back and let others shine.,.team effort throughout. Amazing !!
This was Johnny’s concert, but as others have pointed out here, he showcased his younger brother’s talent. “Be Careful with a Fool” from this same show is incredible. Check it out.
And Mean Town Blues. Highway 61 Revisited from Captured Live is just ridiculous too. And Sound The Bell
Remember now, Johnny is a guitarist, pure and simple, he can sing tho too.
This was a Johnny Winter concert , Edgar was filling in , and Johnny let Edgar do a song , this is what he chose !
This was Edgar's song. Johnny accompanied Edgar on this song.
This tune is DEEP blues. Blues has no skin color, only HEART.

"Mean Town Blues" from this same show if you want to see Johnny shine. The fastest left hand in the business.

Jonny had a good solo career
He is for real and I’m glad you got to see him. Watch his instrumental “Frankenstein” or something like that.
Its on the list
There’s an album called Johnny Winter Band Live. You might give it a listen.
First time watching and channel and a great reaction! You paid attention, didn't act like a mannequin, and seemed genuine. I agree with you about Edgar carrying. Thank you! I do plan on checking out some more of the Edgar brothers
Edgar can play several instruments.

There was a jam session, where Jimi Hendrix had to play bass because Johnny Winter was already on guitar...
Want to see some musical genius you should see him play Frankenstein
On the list
That was one song in a 2 and a half hr. Comcert.
Johnny let's the guitar do the singing for him.
If you never heard this group before how did you know which brother was edgar?
These albino boys could play!
Frankenstein
REACTION CHANNEL GUY: The reason you don't know who these bros are is because they were BIG in the 60s & 70s before you were born.
This is a religious experience, sorry but god sprinkled extra talent on both brothers
Watch FRANKENSTEIN
white people are awesome
Hey Brown eyes, You got the Brothers mixed up, But I forgive you... Two albinos who play many instruments... you get a lifetime pass ^__^
