Helmotz Only the "trend" dies; people who actually like the game itself keep playing it even if they're not getting attention for it. The news just stops reporting on it after a while when it's no longer view-bait, so people who aren't interested forget the game exists.
Unfortunately, one hell of a time. VR is on a life support (High-end machine with cables and motion sensors, limiting you in all the possible ways). MR seems like a possible way out of that mess, but the battery power is unfortunately pretty weak for such a device and the models are not so appealing to an eye. However, I believe that the Microsoft has stepped right way by focusing on MR, as VR is being compromised in all the aspects I have mentioned earlier in nearby future.
Who cares if the sensors are good, you are still limited by their ability to cover certain space. Once you are able to freely move within a large scale without the necessity of teleportation, then fine, I won't say word. And yet you are still being limited by computer peformance and the signal of WI-Fi (as I checked the solutions). Until the time the sensors will be able to cover a significantly large space warehouse, the "free movement" feature is highly limited (as seen from that pathethic demo, where the user moved only a couple of centimeters in order to stay within the sensors range). Until then, MR is the future for me as well as for many investors, who have inserted 4x more funds into MR than into VR in exponential trend. i personally think VR will be short-lived, like it was in 90's, a hype which will result in fiasco with unplayable content (just look at the most recently introduced AAA games like Skyrim and Doom for VR). The only salvation in VR might be the motion threadmills, which are now able to deal with motion sickness and eliminate necessity of teleportation. But still, it forces you to remain in one place the whole time.
game like these would only work if you make the game based on the real world's ground. you should have showed us what would have happened if you hit a wall. Also, this game doesn't look very much fun. Maybe in 20 years, it would look fun.
What would make it perfect though? Being able to jump onto or climb the virtual objects? That would obviously be impossible. While this is a cool novelty, all of the gameplay that makes the game entertaining is removed -and has to be removed- when re-doing it in VR.
Mshojat they need a soft VR LANDSCAPE. So you can "touch" stuff. I don't want to clap my fingers to shoot though. Lol I want to slam my arm down but I understand that would have taken more work.
I feel like you could have some way of adjusting the placement of everything and make it seem like you've jumped onto the tunnel, or gotten on top of something high
*From the outside,* he looks like a mentally-overloaded person, when he is playing that AR game in the wild :-) From the inside, it's an amazing game !
well done! many thanks to you! one of my questions get answered today. now, figure out how to make a jump in this game and publish it to the store(get copyrights also) ;")
you might b able to do some tricks if you were in a giant room that was all painted white or something. People would probably get motion sick from the world moving more than them though
This "is" the future of gaming. I've been thinking and mentioning AR games for years, and how they'll allow us to interact in the real world. Imagine a fantasy RPG or FPS zombie game that you play in the real world? You could literally generate a world that utilizes the real world as a guide. People will literally have to sword fight or shoot and run from zombie NPCs. Possibilities are endless!
Actually, as far as gaming goes, virtual reality has a brighter future than augmented reality. Augmented reality is still really cool and has a bright future, but for other things.
As a person studying AR, I watched your video very impressively. One question I'm wondering is how did you implement coordinates movement and human collider to check in-game. I would really happy if you could answer my question. Thank you.
Knowing Nintendo when it comes to TH-cam it's would be more likely be takedown notice than being sued. But I don't think that's going to happen it this case I hope.
this is THE COOLEST THING I HAVE SEEN!! just keep up the awesomely good work... you will scale heights... all the best!! I am waiting for this to be consumer produced
Zander Kubista What can you expect from someone calling themselves Mike Hunt? You do know that it's a prank call name like Phil Miaz, Hugh Jass, Ben Dover, Al Coholic and Pepe Roni, right?
This is the most traumatic experience I've ever seen. The Goombas overlaying above the hand launching fireballs was priceless. Also the sound glitches when hitting the blocks were something epileptic. It was so cool, I cried and laugh a lot. And what's wrong with this Mario, he keeps avoiding all the tubes haha
I don't know why, but I just started laughing when he started walking around the pipes. Mostly because I fully expected him to be able to climb them before he did.
Adhisheck Singh, this level you made is amazing. I appreciate your hard work. And I think you will go far in life with your creativity, and best of luck to you
As far as concepts go- this is insanely cool man. My first thought is that it is too bad you cannot actually jump as high as Mario does, but- would there be a way to code it so that when and if you do actually perform a leap, the landscape would alter vertically to more or less implement a proper jump so that you could be up and then maneuver on the platforms? Nice work and for once I am impressed with something that somebody tried. Working with augmented reality in this fashion could be a good way to go in some sense of future gaming. Great Job Abhishek Singh! (you made my day!) p.s. - EXTRA POINTS for getting into Costume!! YAY:)
That's absolutely awesome, mate! :-) Now go ahead and add Spectator View capability to see the augmented 3rd person view from the side at the same time! :D
I can't wait till we can wear something light like a pair of glasses and see this kind of augmented reality. I would've loved something like this when I was a kid!
Abhishek Singh I imagine that the next iteration will have a larger FOV, sturdier holograms, and maybe be able to distinguish the foreground from the background.
Hey you could make a jump setup screen where the user jump 3 times and you take the average height of the jump (I dont if the hololens offers this kind of sensors, but its an option) to use in the gameplay. The action of jumping would be something like "floorheight-jumpheight = newfloorheight" than if the user is already over a climbable object you just check if he still hitting the collider or "grounded". Amazing level re-creation by the way!
"Go play outside, son."

So how long before I can strap on a pair of glasses, walk all around New york city thinking I am in Fallout VR?
Unfortunately, one hell of a time. VR is on a life support (High-end machine with cables and motion sensors, limiting you in all the possible ways). So how long before you get hit by a car or bike? hah
Cost of tech always comes down, the sensors are fantastic, not limiting, and there are now two wireless solutions for the vive on the market.
Who cares if the sensors are good, you are still limited by their ability to cover certain space. Once you are able to freely move within a large scale without the necessity of teleportation, then fine, I won't say word.

RattlerX5150 ... and listening to Three Dog and Galaxy News Radio. ;-)
This is super awesome! Love the ideas people are making with Hololens...great piece of tech!
Cheater is going sideways tsk tsk tsk
You'd have to stay in the air, too, unless there was something to step on.
Davkas2005 defeats the purpose. But you know if he force jumps or something the VR can take him up there.
SEXO
He's probably doing that because the higher up parts are not even real.
Abhishek Singh You should've added a feature where you die in real life if you touch the goombas/koopas or fall into a pit lol.
For your sake I hope Microsoft see's this!! very impressive :)
3D super Mario bros
I really thought he was gonna jump over the obstacles.
He can really just go around everything
Imagine everyone playing this at the park and crashing into each other
not really because its hololens its like reality with a layer on top
First of all, this is absolutely amazing, and frick you're so talented. Second of all, you should add a pipe you can go down and into the cave area.
Was thinking the same for getting bigger... Just make everything smaller
just open up a sewer manhole cover
game like these would only work if you make the game based on the real world's ground. you should have showed us what would have happened if you hit a wall. Also, this game doesn't look very much fun. Maybe in 20 years, it would look fun.
AR arcades?
yea but in 20 year we may have enter a ww3 ahata not funny I know it terrifying
Such wondrous potential, but imagine doing this in the park...at NIGHT! Level 3-1 anyone?
MrBnetV he should invent a new videogame right for the augmented reality
I WANT NOTHING ELSE FROM THE GAMING INDUSTRY, JUST MAKE THIS PERFECT PLEASE
What would make it perfect though? Being able to jump onto or climb the virtual objects? That would obviously be impossible.

You don't have to share the finished version. Please make the project open source, like every element of it including the CAD, etc.
you have to have a thing u can touch and climb on and then map objects onto it
Let's a go!
Nathie Heeeey
Yay! Nathie's here!
its a nathie! welcome Mr VR guru sir, can't wait to get my vive, id love it if you tested my games and tech demos on your channel.

All that work and ingenuity, and I still wasn't satisfied until the music started. Well done, sir. Well done.
*From the outside,* he looks like a mentally-overloaded person, when he is playing that AR game in the wild :-)
From the inside, it's an amazing game !
Love the new yorkers just blithely walking by the lunatic with the weird headpiece jumping around.
can't wait for the speedrun vids! ;)
This is great, this is the best implementation of AR I've seen for the entertainment market.
Yooo you should work with Nintendo to make a VR Mario game!!!
The hole in the ground is what sold me, but I've been completely sold on AR in my head for years. Welcome to hyper-reality.
If you can get this idea behind a professional game production company, this thing could be hella cool
Imagine how graphics and games have drastically improved since the last decade. Just think about how that will apply to this. This js incredible !
You are the absolute best.
LOL
Abhishek Singh omg how do we get this for ourself
those holes in the ground were so trippy! imagine how cool would it be to create a non-mario realistic jump course with realistic holes
NINTENDO HIRE THIS MAN
Abhishek, it was super fun listening you talking about the project yesterday at the ARNY event. Very inspiring & congratulations!
dam this is dope!!.. i bet he gets all the girls to play AR smash too
HAWK3y3s93 lol
HAWK3y3s93 lmao
AR's the only way I get to smash any girls.
Pretty damn amazing, this dude is seriously talented. I see a bright future for you!
well done!
many thanks to you!
one of my questions get answered today.

you might b able to do some tricks if you were in a giant room that was all painted white or something. People would probably get motion sick from the world moving more than them though
Why not make the whole height shift down by 1 block? So the thing you are jumping onto becomes the floor?
Shoes with stabilized scissor lifts? :D
Absolutely amazing!!! Loving the irony of 8-bit augmented reality as well....
This "is" the future of gaming. I've been thinking and mentioning AR games for years, and how they'll allow us to interact in the real world. Why The fuck would you give them real weapons and strap augmentation devises to their faces. Thats what literally means.
prince gold lol
Actually, as far as gaming goes, virtual reality has a brighter future than augmented reality. Augmented reality is still really cool and has a bright future, but for other things.
@@eashansoni3761it's MR not AR
Man, I've been playing SMB for 28 years and not once did I ever think to just go AROUND the pipe.
This is so cool!
Can you make Doom?)
Or AR football?!
Or AR [insert crazy fictional game]?
search for hololens sort by date and watch every video :P
one thing u can search for is hololens fragments or hololens roboraid
Abhishek Singh AR Doom would be amazing. All these cool ideas are making me want an AR headset instead of a VR one.
Ingress !!!
Rocket League
AR football so like real football
That is really neat. Great job on the working going into this. Keep it up!
2:40 Unity XD
That. was. Awesome. Thanks for sharing what you experienced.
As a person studying AR, I watched your video very impressively.
One question I'm wondering is how did you implement coordinates movement and human collider to check in-game.
I would really happy if you could answer my question.
Thank you.
seems like a really good start. maybe 80% of a finished product
2:22 Unity star :P
Apart from the fact that you're moving 3D while Mario was moving 2D... CONGRATS for your work mate!
It's official... Emulation has finally gone too far. -_-
I'm wincing and anticipating the iconic Murkysoft blue screen of death through the whole video.
prepare to get sued
or hired
Why? He's not selling or distributing it.
Knowing Nintendo when it comes to TH-cam it's would be more likely be takedown notice than being sued. But I don't think that's going to happen it this case I hope.
Nintendo does not hire any non-japanese developers, except they try very hard, learn the japanese culture and language.
The game is not commercially available nor is he violating any copyright acts by posting it online. It is simply a demo - a proof of concept.
this is THE COOLEST THING I HAVE SEEN!! just keep up the awesomely good work... you will scale heights... all the best!! I am waiting for this to be consumer produced
Hey man awesome app!! Any chance of it being on the store soon? Would love to try it out and preview it on our channel!
Well, we'd love to make a video of it! We'll contact you and see if we can collaborate on something!

Zander Kubista What can you expect from someone calling themselves Mike Hunt? You do know that it's a prank call name like Phil Miaz, Hugh Jass, Ben Dover, Al Coholic and Pepe Roni, right?
impressive. there's some neat things happening and a development team can learn a lot from this build.
Omg

Nice portable gaming system. 😉
*Can i add a hot girl in there? And maybe make her do some USUAL stuff?*
oh my gosh looks more fun in real life I bet people gave him weird looks with him jumping all around I can not wait until it comes out :D
Dat Unity block. Even to this day, SMB still manages to surprise!
Wow this is the future of gaming! To be un a virtual world and play for real, awesome my friend, great work!
And you dressed all the way up like Mario for this NOW THATS WHAT I CALL A TRUE FAN!! :D Ur awesone.
I don't know why, but I just started laughing when he started walking around the pipes. Mostly because I fully expected him to be able to climb them before he did.
I can imagine seeing a parkour game coming to life here am I the only one thinking that? 😂
That's incredible man, awesome work!. Keep up the great work, i'll be following you for sure!
1:26 That green mush has claimed more lives than I dare to admit. Glad you didn't fall into that trap :p
Amazing! ;)
Adhisheck Singh, this level you made is amazing. I appreciate your hard work. And I think you will go far in life with your creativity, and best of luck to you
This is some amazing work! Keep it up bro :-)
As far as concepts go- this is insanely cool man. Great Job Abhishek Singh!
(you made my day!)
p.s. - EXTRA POINTS for getting into Costume!! YAY:)
That's some darn clever work! Nice job.
Lol that woman at 1:01 probably was like "wtf?"
Super cool software though, very nice work, you are getting me excited about augmented reality!
This is the start of something beautiful
This is amazing...and should be a thing everyone can play. Awesome
So awesome dude great job and it would be great that you made the other levels but that would take a lot of work
This is freaking amazing!!! Brilliantly done
Wow! Very impressive and cool! Nice overalls too! :)
Hooray for Augmented Reality being used in the best manner! This is much better than VR, and even better than pseudo-AR games like PokemonGO!
Hell Yeah!
That's incredible man. It feels like I'm watching the future.
I can't believe how much I love this...
Nice concept, it would probably be kind of cool to augment something like a parkour park where climbing is involved.
I've never thought that Mario could've just have gone around the pipe hahaha
I like how he simply walks around the pipes instead of jumping over them. Not to mention just watching the 1-Up falling down into the... water?
Going around the pipes is a concession to practicality - remember Mario can jump a lot higher than your average human can. :)
As a crazy person this is the perfect excuse to show I'm not INSANE!!! THANKS!
But honestly that is awesome.
Excellent excellent work...If people werent aware of the significance of AR yet, this video will be a pretty awesome introduction!
That's absolutely awesome, mate! :-)
Now go ahead and add Spectator View capability to see the augmented 3rd person view from the side at the same time! :D
I'm more focused on the people passing by than the actual game itself, but nice concept dude.
That third dimension really helps!
Still incredible...this is the future of video games, for sure... definitely look forward to seeing all the amazing things AR will be used for
This is amazing, great work!
This is really cool! Needs refinement but it's a great concept. Good job!
Glad you got six fireworks, though I thought it was just a three-boom performance, myself.
I can't wait till we can wear something light like a pair of glasses and see this kind of augmented reality. I would've loved something like this when I was a kid!
And... How did it feel? :)
Abhishek Singh I imagine that the next iteration will have a larger FOV, sturdier holograms, and maybe be able to distinguish the foreground from the background.
Abhishek Singh did you make it yourself if so you are very talented and you deserve way more subs
amazing job, keep up the good work!
You have done a great job,man
I just realized that this was the guy that also made peeqo on reddit all those years back.....he is talented and dedicated.
Just walking around the pipe! Brilliant
Wow, that's impressive! Good work man :D !
I absolutely loved this!
Hey you could make a jump setup screen where the user jump 3 times and you take the average height of the jump (I dont if the hololens offers this kind of sensors, but its an option) to use in the gameplay. This is really cool we need more
awesome dude! suggestion make pipes and walls shorter and slightly transparent so you can play but also see whats ahead of you.
