    Just found this video…do you find that the particles are too small after going through a food processor? I’d love to try this but I’m worried the food will be too fine for larger fish.

    • @ReefBum
      @ReefBum  ปีที่แล้ว

      All food processors are different so you should experiment a bit with particle size

    When trying to find frozen scallops and muscles, I'm finding that the packaging doesn't specifically say frozen raw. It doesn't say that they're cooked, but not sure if I should still get the frozen scallops and muscles from the store or not? For the scallops, do you get the larger sea scallops or the smaller bay scallops? I have images of the package I can reach out to you with to see if everything looks ok

      I can't speak to whether it matters to have them frozen or fresh. Not sure about size as well. I think a variety of whatever you can find is good.

    Is it possible bake it and store in plastic bottle. Without need to refrigerate it

    • @ReefBum
      @ReefBum  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would not bake the raw fish food. Store the finished raw product in a freezer and you are good to go.

    Is that food you made would be good for cichlids

    • @ReefBum

      You got me on that one....not a cichlid person ;)

    Also, have you changed your recipe since the video?

    • @ReefBum
      @ReefBum  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I may have tweaked it a bit but it is pretty close to the formula in the video.

    Are your shrimp and mussels frozen or thawed so you can de-shell them easier?

    • @ReefBum
      @ReefBum  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I let them defrost for about an hour and then I de-shell them. It certainly makes it easier to de-shell them but you don't want to let them defrost for too long since the food will be re-frozen.

    • @fishstix1988

      @@ReefBum If they are frozen, raw, but already de-shelled. Is that OK?

    • @ReefBum
      @ReefBum  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fishstix1988 I think that would be fine.

    Is your house a hybrid timberframe, I dont see anything in the living room?

    • @ReefBum
      @ReefBum  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is not a true timber frame in terms of the construction...sort of like a faux timber frame.

    Thawing put food and then refrigerating it again ruins the food.

      @ryanreeves8931 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Only if you dump huge amounts into your tank. This guy has been reefing for decades with multiple acclaimed aquariums. You tank needs some NO3 and PO4. Proper husbandry takes care of the rest. This allows months of food at a fraction of the price of Rod's Food Etc.
