  • Te Whetū Mārama is a transcending and spiritual song, sung in the Māori language, showcasing a remarkable connection between artist Kaaterama, composerTe Taepa Kameta, kapa haka Te Reanga Mōrehu o Rātana and their undeniable love for their ‘maramatanga’.
The spirit if this fellowship was beautifully captured in a live video recording at the famed Revolver Studio, Aotearoa - showcasing Kaateramas unique talent as a vocalist and that of her peers Te Reanga Mōrehu o Rātana.
Kaaterama set out to share her love and passion about the Mōrehu movement. “I feel a strong connection to my church, Te Haahi Ratana, which has given me the strength inspiration and courage throughout my life and indeed musical journey so far”.
As a product of the Kohanga Reo and Kura Kaupapa Maori movements in New Zealand, Kaaterama sings in te reo and explains the significance: “The importance of te reo in my music is not only to promote, but to encourage all people of our land Aotearoa to embrace and learn our amazing language and tikanga.”
Te Whetū Mārama or The Star in the Moon, is a symbol of the Rātana Church. The five point star and its colours have significant spiritual meaning to the Ratana people.
