Looks like a hibiscus flower. My dad had one like that in his garden, same colour and it was called "rhubarb and custard." It is a tropical flower (gets cold in winter in Adelaide) so it only flowered during the hot summer months.
The pale blue flowers are plumbago. The birds usually stay out of the sun in the heat of the day and come out in the early morning and evening, sensible or what? No matter how pretty the Christmas trees are it still doesn't feel right to have Christmas in the sun, even after forty years! The views are lovely but there's a big volcano shrouded in cloud overlooking the valley and of course, volcanic soil is very fertile isn't it? That's probably why they grow such amazing produce. That was wonderful, thank you for taking us with you Sean ( and anonymous driver/friend). Loved the botanical gardens, especially the pools but the bird of paradise (strelizia) flowers are something else aren't they?
Thankyou Sean for sharing your travels, the scenery, sunshine and flowers 🌺 Thankyou to your friend for all the driving so we get a wonderful Tour to the Gardens...Bootiful. 😊
Thanks for that tour! I have never been to Tenerife but it’s lovely and enticing! The views were incredible and the architecture and gardens were beautiful! Glad your Advent tea today was tasty. Feel better!
I visited the botanical garden a few years ago and really enjoyed it. Despite its relatively small size, the way the paths wind around and areas are separated by tall bushes and trees, it took hours to see it all and seemed much larger.
Looks so warm and lovely - blue skies and tender plants! Sitting here watching before I go to my allotment. Will think of you whilst I'm in my thermals digging holes for my fruit trees arriving very soon. Thanks for the lush video, Sean. 💚
Thank you Sean for taking time out of your holiday to share it with us. Your vlogs are awesome. I am enjoying them so much I feel like I am there with you ❤xx
Dear Sean, thanks for taking us on a drive....to see the countryside...and the botanical gardens ect..I wasnt expecting to see the Spanish moss there...and it's so odd to see, so many trees, and plants, I've never seen before...I Love the music you choose, especially liked, the violin, and guitar, song at the hilltop lookout. So glad you liked the Berry tea..sounded like a winner...thanks again it's been a wonderful Vlogmas so far. Rest and relax...yes a massage sounds perfect...
You sound like you still have your cold? Everything does look so clean, which is so lovely to see. So interesting to get out and about, and great that your friend can do the driving for you, so that you can film things. Thank you for taking us with you. Blessings from a cold West Devon, England, and Jilly & Madge. xxx
Thanks for doing videos while you're on holiday Sean I can't remember the last time ever you went on holiday ever since I've been watching you for years now enjoy yourself and relax 👍
You captured amazingly beautiful scenery! 🌴🌺🏔️Thanks for taking us on your vacation (but I know you’re walking hard on filming and editing!). It was fun to hear your traveling companion laugh at your commentary! 😆
Hi Sean, yay success on the tea front finally a flavour you liked! Yes I would have enjoyed that too! Thanks for taking us along on your travels and well done your friend driving up that windy back road! Never mind that one, I wouldn't want to drive up the tarmac one either but then I'm not very brave! 😅 However, what lovely views they were truly breathtaking. 🙂 Loved seeing the Botanical garden thank you. That large tree in the middle was fascinating! Anyway, thank you for another excellent Vlogmas - I hope that sore throat improves soon.
Really nice to come along for the ride with you both Sean. Some beautiful views and lovely gardens. Thank you. Nice to see you finally enjoyed a advent tea 😊 Hope the throat gets better soon too. ❤ J&J
Thanks for this vlog Sean and friend..it's especially relevant to me as me'n'hubby spent a wonderful week in Puerto de la Cruz a few years back..and ate at the lovely restaurant's opposite La Orotova Gardens ..it's a lovely area..glad you got to visit..👍x
Well at least you finally found it 😂. I was thinking you were going up somebody's drive at one point good job nothing was coming the other way . Great view of the mountains. I think the yellow flower at the beginning wss some kind of hibiscus but I'm not an expert 😂. Breakfast tea tomorrow so that might be two on the trot you like 😂😂 fingers crossed but i secretly like the faces you pull 😂😂
So lovely there. I didn't realise the Canary Islands were so arid. Makes me think of Greece. We have proper winter now here in Northern Ontario. I've been shovelling snow all morning and got my hens all snuggled up with a whole bale of fresh straw in the henhouse. The temp is threatening to go way down to -24 C tonight. Brrrr...... 🥶
At time 6.05 on the video when you said you are going out at the hottest ime to find where you really wanted to be, the phrase: "Mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun," came to my mind and I was disappointed that a Welshman would follow any Englishman's example!😉😂🌴🇦🇮
I know you were so happy to find the paved road! 😂 The views were definitely worth it. Thank you for continuing to work for us on your vacation as we live vicariously through you.
I'm absolutely loving your videos from Tenerife Sean. What a beautiful island. The warmth emanating from them gives me a boost to face cold, grey and rainy days of Brittany. Thankyou ☀️
Oh Sean I love Tenerife! You’re taking me back to my warm memories, I have absolutely loved these videos, thank you for your time, I’m loving them and everything you film back home. Enjoy the remainder of your stay xx❤
Wow! Gorgeous garden. Thank you for taking us on the ride through the beautiful areas. Never been there before. Now I really want to see it for myself.
Are you comfy with such a change..Make the most of the sky..I think you are doing a fine job for your viewers..We need to see there are warmer places..TU
Thank you Sean for another relaxing video especially when you are walking around the beautiful gardens . I am shocked😮 that you have found one ☕ that you like 😅 can't wait for the next video 😊 .
Success! Sean likes one of the teas! I must say the gardens were lovely and you made them extra special by playing the "the Rusty " music which I love. Thank you for another interesting vlog.
Afternoon Sean It looks a bit more densly populated in Tenerife than the Rhonda, that mountain had more twists and turns than an Agatha Christie novel 😂 Hooray 🎉🎈 your taste buds have finally been blessed with a pleasant tea! Hope you had a good sleep, you look really tired 🥱 Hasta pronto Sean (See you soon!)
What a wonderful tour Sean! Nice to get a few laughs from your travel partner, it would be hard not to have a giggle with all the fun comments while you are filming. The views are very pretty but there really is a difference from the dry greenery and the lush greens from a damper climate. My daughter loves berry herbal tea over ice in the summer. Have a wonderful afternoon!
Stunning views indeed. You are certainly having a jam packed break away from the miserable weather in the UK at the moment! Bet you'll be shattered next week!😅
Are you going to go up mount teide, we did got up to the cable car and found out it was broken, still lovely view, hope your enjoying your holiday, thank you for taking us with you
You’d know that the red flower is hibiscus, Sean, the blue one is plumbago. Nice bit of modern architecture there, if a bit derivative 😄 do love the convertible 😎 37c here today, too hot even for that 🥵 What beautiful countryside, & the botanic garden was great 👏👏👏👏👏
Been to South Tenerife several times, never been to the North, looks a lot peaceful than the south. Although we're your staying in the South is very quiet
I can’t really remember how long it took to flower but it was fast growing. I had lots of flowers on it over the years and kept it in a southern window. One or two flowers at a time and had to transplant it to a bigger pot occasionally. Living in Canada it never would have survived outdoors. Also grew a banana plant and it had bananas one year. I never tried the bananas.

That yellow flower at the beginning looked like a Hibiscus to me, always reminds me of beach time/ sun, sand 😅
Yes they are Hibiscus, you can get them here but as a house plant.

Sean, we have most of those plants growing in our gardens and forests here in Brisbane Australia.❤
Oh, my, the ocean and the buildings and the breeze going through the trees. I love it.
I always say taking the off roads is the best way to see the places…beautiful day Sean.
So enjoying Vlogmas, many thanks. It’s so lovely seeing the sunshine, it’s so cold here.🐞just got to say the music is beautiful.

The fields of solar panels in Anglesey took a battering during the latest storm and a lot of it was destroyed.
Lovely video and good music. I love Tenerife. I went there in November and came back feeling energized from a whole week of sunshine 😊
Beautiful scenery, thanks for sharing, great video.thanks
The landscape is magnificent.
Crikey, love your travel style Sean! Ha ha yea you don’t want to meet himself for a cup of tea just yet! ☘️
That flower in the market, Sean, is a yellow hibiscus. Usually they are red or white.😊🌲🌴🇦🇮
Well at least you finally found it 😂. I was thinking you were going up somebody's drive at one point good job nothing was coming the other way . Great view of the mountains. I love those flowers. The orange toned one. They are called bird of paradise. They were all over in California and the J plant to
I actually managed to grow these in my garden, in the 00s, in Northamptonshire. A fluke really.
Thank you Sean for another relaxing video especially when you are walking around the beautiful gardens . I am shocked😮 that you have found one ☕ that you like 😅 can't wait for the next video 😊 .

That was a beautiful piece of music playing while you were up at the viewpoint.
Lovely day out, bit scary going up that track 😂xx
What a beautiful day out x
I have been suggesting to people that we should put solar panels on top of car parks for years but no-one seems interested.
Same here!
This looks like a nice break. Lots of sun and views!! Nice.
Excellent video Sean 👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍
Stunning and beautiful music ❤

Very relaxing video thx sean ❤
Stunning views indeed. You are certainly having a jam packed break away from the miserable weather in the UK at the moment! Bet you'll be shattered next week!😅
Tenerife is sooo different to what I remember it, no big architecture or Dual carriageway, just little villages
Stunning views ❤xx
Gosh glad you found the mountains, trees and greenery, some nice landscapes. The flower earlier was Hibiscus.
Woodland sneeze! 😂
Are you going to go up mount teide, we did got up to the cable car and found out it was broken, still lovely view, hope your enjoying your holiday, thank you for taking us with you

Enjoyed the scenic trip. Good on you for trying all these teas you'd be glad you didn't buy a whole box of. Interesting advent calendar idea.
What is the name of the piece of music starting @ 25.37 please? Beautiful 💚
Brilliant thank you 👍👍😊🏴
Yellow hibiscus and a plumbago.

Strelitzia flower in botanical garden also native to South Africa
We have car parks with solar panels in the the north east :) you can never get in them in the summer as they are popular for the shade :)
I miss my bird of paradise which I grew from seed and kept in the house. It just got too big for the window. Thanks for this trip.
How long did it take? Did it ever flower?

I know just how you feel. So afraid of it I hyperventilate.😂
Tenerife could be anywhere on the east coast of Australia
That looks very high on very narrow streets. I can almost feel my ears popping.😅
