My doctor told me not to eat any later than 3 hours before bedtime. I have adhered to that advice along with walking 2 -2 1/2 miles 5 days a week and lost over 21 pounds. I eat moderately 3 meals a day with breakfast being the largest as I burn more energy in the day than at night. I support you in your endeavor to lose weight and be more fit!! Go Sean go!!!

Hi Sean, a TPO is indeed a Tree Preservation Order, usually issued to protect trees or woodland with a high amenity value. Lovely walk and the best way to keep fit tbh with so much natural beauty at your doorstep.

Thanks for the lovely walk! I especially enjoyed hearing the crunch of footsteps on the frost. Wish I could send you photos of my cabin in the woods with a brook running by. It's particularly lovely in the snow, which is falling right now.
My area is predicted to have between 15-17 inches by tomorrow afternoon, with some additional snow or ice on Tuesday. When the snow covered roads cannot be traveled, I can get pretty isolated here as I live alone But I have a wood stove in case the electricity goes out and lots of oil lanterns.
It's all so picturesque when there's a blanket of white covering over everything. The cardinals that fly in to my feeders stand out so brightly against the snow!

Thanks for this lovely video. It reminded me of 2 poems I studied at school in the 60's by American poet Robert Frost , 'Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening' and 'The Road Not Taken'. Read them if you can, they are delightful. Snow overnight here in Wirral, now rain washing it away. Take care x

Rain rain and more rain here in Vancouver BC. Strange mild weather for this time of year. Usually we do have some frosty days. Usually we have some snow in Jan. No sign of it this year….so far. Thanks for the winter walks. Always enjoy seeing the scenery and your chats. Looking forward to more walks or travels in this new year. Knee replacement surgery for me on Feb. Regarding the "Blackberries", we often buy the cheapest bottle of Brandy or vodka, pick blackberries (Brambles) ,put them in the brandy/vodka along with sugar. Store them for 3+ months and then drain the berries off through coffee filters and put the brandy/vodka back in the bottle. Bramble brandy/vodka is lovely, sweet and with a little kick but nothing too much. All the best for 2025.

@@shelaghrichardson1294 Frozen Blackberries would work ok. Every couple of weeks just give the bottle a very light turn/shake to get the juices and sugar moving. Give it a go because as you say it's a nice treat now and then. 🙂

Happy New Year Sean and thanks for all your fab content, which my husband and I enjoy watching regularly with our morning black coffee (which is apparently good for you and doesn't count as breaking your fast). I've had great success with time restricted eating since 2022 and over the course of 18 months I lost 2 stone (very slowly, which is what you want). I've never counted calories whilst on this 'diet for life' and feel younger and fitter than I did in my 30's (I'm now early 50's).
I keep my eating window now at around 8-10 hours and am very happy with that. I eat 'naughty' treats a few times / month (e.g. a full cooked Welsh breakfast at our local caffi for brunch) and exercise moderately around 5 times/week (BTW - I love your 'do a little, do it often' mantra - has been a huge help to me this winter and it gets me out of the door). I also tend to break my fast with a high protein meal (chickpea flour pancakes in my case, which are easy to make) as I find anything that's mainly carbs (even porridge) doesn't fill me up for long and I get the 'low sugar' shakes quite quickly after.
Finding what suits our bodies is what it's all about and the free advice from the ZOE podcasts has been a huge help to me. Keep up the great work and walks and hope you enjoy the process too. I hope it won't feel like too much of a chore - so that you can do this for life. It can really be life changing, as it has been for me, in the best way.
Very good wishes for 2025 and happy growing in your full-of-potential, wonderful Rusty Homestead. What an exciting journey lies ahead!

If you stop eating at 8:00 in the evening, and eat your next meal at 12, you’ve gone 16 hours without eating. No food for 16 hours changes the chemicals your body produces in a remarkable way. What you are doing is called intermittent fasting, and worked for me. I did eat 3x a day in the beginning, but found that I could postpone the first meal to 1 and then 2. Healthy snacks, low sugar yogurt with fruit, in between, if you are hungry works, and shouldn’t be begrudged. You eat in an 8 hour window, and that alone will help. Lost 40 pounds doing this and still eat like this every day.

    Hello Sean
The landscape is beautiful like that, under the winter cold that freezes what surrounds us.
Yesterday I saw on the TV news images in England and the snowstorm in Leeds but also elsewhere
It's crazy the amount of snow that has fallen
Is it the same at your place now?
Here at my place in Ariège (France) no snow unfortunately but it's cold. Garden too wet to work there.
    Catherine (from France)

Just catching up again: where I am in N.S. it is -9 with a wind chill of -18. Anyway, much success with your health improvement. You can do it. Maybe Ultrahuman should send you a fitness tracking ring to review. Just saying. I do have a Fit Bit luxe. Got it on sale. I would like to try a ring. I think that your area has some beautiful hiking. Some shelters and some benches would be a great thing. 2025🎉🎉🙂👍👍🇨🇦

My dad lived on Anglesey & it was lovely looking across at the mountains covered in snow. Not so good when he was in Bangor hospital & it snowed. Good luck with parking around there😬

Lovely walking tour Sean. Please, invest in pair of warm mittens before you suffer frostbite.
